Impetuous can be ignored (as an order completely). As and impetuous model. You can take a better action than walk as you second. Shoot, smoke, dodge... Dodge would make the ARO shot at you an opposed roll as opposed to unopposed. You don't dodge if you lost the opposed roll. the roll was beat by the shots, so there is no dodge move.
Excellent timing. My LGS created a Narrative Progression Event from October to Feb where we build and paint a model of pools. We have a narrative even every week that changes the story of the event.

Great game. Came to it about a year ago looking for a system that was just more solid and streamlined and rewarding than 40K. It's given me everything I was looking for with tactical play. First comment straight out though... 300 points is the standard point level for Infinity, like 2000 points has been in 40K for a long time. I don't think I've ever played a game at 250 points, and have only played games at lower points level for campaign scenarios.
Great game! A little harder initially, but once it clicks you know the rules for all the armies/weapons and makes for a really fun strategic tactical skirmish game 🤘
I just started playing Infinity recently and I'm really getting absorbed by it. The first thing you learn is, like you said, that you need to be transparent with each other. It helps to state your intention rather than getting "gotcha'd" by an ARO you could have avoided. I'm lucky to have fallen into a great group of folks that are really helpful.

Just started watching this. Excited to see Infinity (the return of, I'm told (if you mentioned this already I am watching this in the background at work)) on the channel. This is great. I loved seeing it played. My only feedback is that it's sometimes hard to see the models. Also, love the new camera set up, first time watching since y'all did this new static camera stuff and it's fantastic!
Excelent game! if you want to really want to play cammo, try Ariadna on the Sectorial Tartary Corps, JSA is a complicated and dificult faction to play, great Video, can't wait to see more
I would recomend playing through one of the starter sets. It gives you a mini campeign and grows the rules as you go. also they are pretty short games (for the first few) and you could probably play them back to back, just edit out the set up to save time in the filming.
Veteran Infinity player here! So glad to see this on your channel! Consider a collab with Guerilla Miniature Games maybe? Ash loves his Infinity and it helps to learn this game from an experienced player :)
Guys, I am all for more infinity content being posted, I love the game, and I am glad to be watching MWG again after so many years. However, PLEASE, please learn the rules...which will change again in october due to the release of N5 (5th ed). - Deploying out of cover, partial or total, as the reactive player is terrible. Also why run the table north south? Looks awkward as hell. Just play east west. And, the terrain, make it ~ 20* -> 45* angled, so there are not clear lines of sight off the bat. - In N4. bikes can be impetuous or not, declared at the start of the game. If not, they can get cover as per normal. - When declaring skills, as the active player, you declare the first half of the order - say move, then WAIT for ANY aro's to be declared (the movement path across the board may be talked about / declared before hand to ask for 'known' aro's) - then as the active player, you can declare your second half. that's the entire point of having advantage as the active player. Make the second player take 'bad' choices, or as bad as possible. You don't have to declare the entire order halves off the bats of the order, you move, wait, if they shoot, either shoot back or dodge. If THEY dodge, you can move again for free, or shoot, etc. - Impetuous is NOT mandatory, and if you choose to use it, you CAN act for the first half, then move. - The daiyokai getting shot @ 23:00 should have chosen to fail his guts roll via courage, and moved to either the stair case or rear corner of the building to try and claim partial cover. The skill used to dodge is PH, not WIP. When declaring dodge against a shot(s), it is a FACE TO FACE roll against the shots. You only get the movement part of the dodge if your FACE TO FACE roll beats the rolls they take for shooting. - @ 30:00 - the Sinner eater profiles all have Neurocinetics - so they are always B1 in active, full burst in reactive. Also, a multi-sniper rifle is AP/SHOCK - meaning choose one, not both. EDIT: Saw you guys realized about Neurocinetics @ 1:03:41 ! - @ 38:46 - Kuroshi rider is in fact shock immune, or Immunity: Shock. She also has Dogged, and could have activated that instead of going into unconscious. Also bikes cannot prone, ever. - @ 39:26 - Why did both Saito and the Oniwaban neither infiltrate or use their hidden deployment? EDIT: Saw you missed it at 1:01:49 ! - @ 39:51 - Saito then moves out into the open infront of an enemy model, they would then get a free aro to his movement. - @ 40:31 - The Ryuken HRL would declare Idle, as a camo marker. The enemy aro can 'delay' due to the camo state. They can also declare Discover, but that's a bad idea. Then the Ryuken would declare shoot, at which point the enemy can ARO shoot, as they now have a valid set of 'new' aro's due to the attacking unit revealing. - @ 41:40 - the HRL has two attack modes, direct and template. Direct is 1 higher damage, but the enemy can use the cover to add to their armour. If used in template mode, it does less damage, you please the template down centering on the attacking unit, and then they cannot use cover to add to their armour. This makes it better against high armour targets, effectively giving it "AP" if they are above armour 3, for example. - @ 42:59 - crit dodges, crit anything, means you beat all dice, not just 1. Crits cancel only other crits. - @ 45:47 - if an ARO is missed, the rules dictate it is between the players how to resolve it. Infinity is a game both between two players, and with two players. In a tournament setting, the ARO would be considered as Idle, or null. In a friendly match, most people would be ok with either A) rolling the orders back, if not too deep in or B) doing dodges or not attack AROs after the fact. Depends on your local meta. - @ 46:49 - Please remember, any minutures without stealth, like the Ryuken, that move into ZoC with other miniatures, even through walls, those miniatures can dodge at -3 PH. If stealth is declared, and they cannot see the unit at any point, there is no ARO. Also, with the Ryuken, she is not a FO (forward observer), she does have a profile to be a KHacker (killer hacker) which indeed makes her a specialist. You are confusing Forward Deployment with being a specialist. It is not. However, if she was the hacker variant, she was probably close enough to the opposing hacker(s) to do hacking. - @ 52:00 - again, impet units are not require to juse move move into the open getting shot. Move, then dodge. Or dodge, then move, both are movement based skills, and can go in any order. - @ 55:00 - you 'die' on the spot where your movement ends. and yes, you do guts rolls in ARO. - @ 56:17 - max shot modifier is -12. Modifiers are technically measured after declaring ARO. so the Keisotsu is BS10, they declare shoot, then mods are applied, and it becomes zero. So then the shot is just considered idle. For next time, the Keisotsu Forward Observer should have declared FO or Flash Pulse (part of the FO kit) - both are technical weapons and use WIP instead. - @ 1:00:53 - Saito should have smoke dodged, so he got +3 to his PH to make the roll. Still wouldn't have saved him but still. - @ 1:11:41 - When just outside of an objective, when declaring move, you announce your path, i.e. 4" move, going to touch the objective, then fall back 3", or up the stairs 3" (vaulting first step) or 3" back to the corner. Then even though you are no longer "touching" the objective, you declare second half of the order is take objective, as per the supplies rules, then you have it the entire time. It's all simultaneous. That way, you aren't wasting precious movement if you can help it. - @ 1:16:13 - +1B weapons, like extra chain rifles, or pistols, only apply in their active turn. In reactive, it's only B1. However, with +1B pistols, that allows the tropper do us B2 in active in close combat, as pistols are close combat capable weapons. - @ 1:16:40 - Standard ITS (infinity tournament system) is 300PT games, with 6 SWC per army. You usually bring 2 army lists, for however many scenarios you are playing. In a casual or pick up, obviously you can make a list just before play etc, but usually most 'experienced' players prefer 300PT games. It's the bog standard. However, it is pretty usual for escalation leagues (quite popular when starting out) to go 100, 150, 200, 250, then 300PT games over X weeks, increasing by 1 SWC every time. These helps you get the core movement and turn rules down, and allows you to experience bigger weapons and loadouts as time goes on, and you get more minis. 300PT games usually take 1-2hours (if done quickly), but smaller 150PT games can take less than 1hr, etc etc. - @ 1:18:03 - Daiyokai should have declared using Pistol, far better range bands up close, and it's AP, or just moved, moved again into sillhoutte contact, knowing the single chain rifle would only do 1 wound. Then, next order, declare Idle, CC, knowing the enemy can only dodge, pistol, cc. - @ 1:23:54 - Units can vault or just move over terrain or obstacles smaller than the height of their sillhoute. So you don't need to move around the barricades on the ground, just go over them. You cannot however go over enemy units, including mines. - @ 1:33:45 - Yes, Loss of LT sucks hard. That's why is usually hidden information! :) but, once in LoL, two things usually happen, especially on a turn3. First, declare a new, LT in your mind. Take note/write it down. Then, what most people would have done there, is use the remaining command tokens (at the start of the turn) to convert as many as possible (1 token to 1 order) iregular orders into regular orders, thus hopefully giving you enough of a pool to work with. You start every game with 4 command tokens, some units give more. - @ 1:36:39 - Yup! Every game, afterward, you think about all the things you could have done, or if the dice had gone your way. That's the best part of infinity! :D Great game otherwise, I'm a JSA main myself, super duper excited for the rework coming in N5, and the new edition will be sick! Please continue this series!
Fantastic breakdown ! We did end up catching some of these and yes , will continue to learn so appreciate the time you took to point all these out. We are excited for N5!
@@SkaredCast No worries. Still finishing the video, will post any other rules ya'll missed :) just got the part where you realized Saito had hidden deployment haha. Gotta read those keywords! Ps most keywords are clickable in the infinity army app for android/iphone, which will link you to the wiki explaining the rule. Cant wait to see you guys cover N5, we are all super excited for the new edition...I cannot wait!
Great game guys! I'm a vet of Infinity. Been playing since it came to the US in 2008. New edition coming out soon! I've played All of Yu Jing (my first love and was very sad when we lost JSA), Combined Army, Shasvastii, Dashat, Ikari, currently O-12 and Starmada and Aleph is coming soon. One of the many cool things about the game is that no two battles will ever be the same and you can't "math" your way to winning. Sure you can make make sure you are always in advantage range etc. but something can always happen to ruin it. The few things I saw wrong, were, the Daiyokai dodging in the first turn. He made his dodge but the shots him. That means he doesn't get to move. He must win the face off to move. For Impetuous moves you can do a move + idle (not moving) so you move your first half and ignore the second and not doing anything else. Can you also do a move + dodge without actually moving for the dodge (dodge in place). both of them keep you from heading out to get shot. For the Multi Sniper rifle, it's Armor piercing OR Shock. You get to choose which ammo to use. not both together. Last thing the Sin Eater has a weird rule. Nuerocinetics. He rolls only one shot in active turn, but gets full burst in ARO.
It may have been pointed out already but I find that a good rule to remember is to declare all ARO against 1st short skill (if possible) then 2nd short skill is declared, then dice rolls to resolve. Also, a single success can cancel multiple opposing successes as long as it’s higher.
Please more non-GW batreps. I know they don't get as many views, but lets try and change that by building the excitement. This and MCP are GREAT games and I'm excited to see bigger channels picking them up.
one of the best things about this game, is that It gets better the more you learn. Is more like chess, there is so much depth that in the biggining you will not get why a good player is winning but when you start seeing the real strategy it gets sooo good. I will recomend learning distances for weapons, since exchanges are about picking the best modifiers for you and the worst for your opponent. Then maybe learning the spanish system of clasifications for units/weapons. spearheads for clenaing the field, AROs peaces for pinning enemy movement, 'buttoners' people that can do missions, midfielders people than control the midfield usually with camo and templates, warbands wich throw smoke and stuff so you troops can navigate the field, support (medics, engenniers and stuff) Lastly when you comp your army, you start by choosing weapons instead of profiles/miniatures. Like "I need and hmg for long range, and this will be my spearhead number 1", "I'll need a redfury for mid range and this will be my spearhead n2" and so on and so forth.
Also Multi sniper rifle has DA ammo, witch doubles the saves on a succesful hit. Da ammo ussualy can be used only in reactive on other weapons - multi sniper rifle :D.
It's the terrain from Operation Crimson Stone, and the matching expansion pack. It's the same base terrain as the last few operafion boxes and their expansions. It looks like their 2 eachbof the terrain pack and terrain expansion
Yes, yes you should. I haven't watch MWG much in recent years because honestly GW games are pretty meh. I'd love to see you guys do infinity which is a fantastic game, plus your narrative style game and campaign could also work with infinity. With N5 coming out in the fall it's a perfect time
I was interested at first but "the lower, the better" logic is such a red flag for any game. It could only be worse if some rolls are "the higher, the better" instead for more confusion. But miniatures and terrain look awesome and thanks for the batrep as always.
Higher is better, in order to beat your opponent BUT you are limited by your skill, just like real life. It works like going bust in Blackjack. The only exception to this is Armour saves, and that will be fixed in 2 months.
Bakunin is just called Bakunin or 'the Furries' :P Also you don't want to roll lower, you want to roll as close to your stat but not over it - like blackjack, you want to hit 21 but not go over!! I'm no expert in N4 and this isn't a criticism but to help people watching and also to help you guys! I think: The impetuous guys can't get cover bonuses When you're hit you can choose to fail the guts roll to get to cover unless religious If you fail the dodge face to face you don't move :-( Bikes can't take cover either even if not impetuous, when set up you can choose if your bikes are impetuous or not (how much gas in the tank?!) For JSA : You can also make that biker your Lt so you have impetuous, Lt, and regular orders to go full BANZAI! and then if/when they die can have a chain of command on the kempetai to take over!! When Lukas critically dodges, the crits cancel all normal hits even if the number is lower than the other non-crit rolls. For healing with a doctor its their WIP and for paramedic its the patients Phys (possibly at -3? can't remember exactly!) Also your Lt identity should be secret unless you use the Lt order on them :-) 300pts is the 'standard' (like 40k 2K) for tournaments and stuff though anywhere from 150-400 is viable and each bracket has some tactical variance! BUT it was an entertaining and FUN batrep and I can see the cobwebs coming off :-) The clear communication and transparency is a large part of why Infinity works so well as a game. Hope to see much more Infinity content especially with the new edition next month!
I honestly thought you nailed the rules. Most battle reports miss something somewhere. Nice to see a game, ready to dive back in in N5, I played only in N3. There is a lot of terrain in that box.
1. The balanced failed save on the rocket launcher, I would also have counted as a double fail 2. In the case that you retroactively tried to dodge, realizing you had another unit in LOS of the heavy rocket Ryuken, we would have skipped it and moved on. Sometimes battle is chaotic and things get missed.
OMG!?!? I can NOT believe I am seeing Infinity BACK on here after so many years away! PLEASE, let this last. With the new edition coming out soon, great time to get back into it.

This is great. I loved seeing it played. My only feedback is that it's sometimes hard to see the models. Also, love the new camera set up, first time watching since y'all did this new static camera stuff and it's fantastic!
Awesome! Hoping for a lot more infinity on the channel. Love this game!
Also, that's a cool terrain setup
7:00 - For contested rolls you want to roll at-or-under your target value, but as high as possible within that range.
Aw, yes, for what it's worth, I am a vault member and would love to see infinity content :D
Please start playing infinity
It’s really fun
Fantastic game, hyped for more.
thumbs up for more Corvus Belli and INfinity Content
Oh sick I've wanted to see some gameplay of this!
Oooo infinity, not seen this for ages!!
Excelent game! if you want to really want to play cammo, try Ariadna on the Sectorial Tartary Corps, JSA is a complicated and dificult faction to play, great Video, can't wait to see more
Yes! More Infinity!
Standard we play is 300pts and 6 SWC (which limits the amount of heavy and special weapons)
The only other games I'd like to see apart from Infinity is Gorkamorka, Mordheim, Necromunda and Frostgrave
Yeah, lets go
Would love to see more Infinity if your guys budget allows it.
Would love to see more infinity, get that'll be niche compared to 40k but love the game
please do more of this
I would recomend playing through one of the starter sets. It gives you a mini campeign and grows the rules as you go. also they are pretty short games (for the first few) and you could probably play them back to back, just edit out the set up to save time in the filming.
Woot. Love Infinity
Yess. Infinity Finnaly :D. MY main game.
Veteran Infinity player here! So glad to see this on your channel! Consider a collab with Guerilla Miniature Games maybe? Ash loves his Infinity and it helps to learn this game from an experienced player :)
I have some crazy news for you: ua-cam.com/video/d6E84Dfi_mk/v-deo.htmlsi=2362XMsKpolJFu4k
I also only learned about this today
Good job :D
I have to say its really worth to learn this game! I play it for years its awesome!
Yes! In our club we put warhammer on hold years ago and went with Infinity instead.
After 10 years we're finally back!
More infinity please!
I got into Infinity myself a few months ago, and have been loving it! Excited to see content on here showcasing the game, esp with the run up to N5!
So happy to see Infinity back on MWG. So many rule mistakes but you're all having fun so that's all that matters.
Great game otherwise, I'm a JSA main myself, super duper excited for the rework coming in N5, and the new edition will be sick!
You now need an infinity themed studio
SO happy to see Infinity on here! Haven't watched anything on here in a long time but this series definitely has me invested
whoo! infinity!
Then maybe learning the spanish system of clasifications for units/weapons.
spearheads for clenaing the field, AROs peaces for pinning enemy movement, 'buttoners' people that can do missions, midfielders people than control the midfield usually with camo and templates, warbands wich throw smoke and stuff so you troops can navigate the field, support (medics, engenniers and stuff)
Lastly when you comp your army, you start by choosing weapons instead of profiles/miniatures. Like "I need and hmg for long range, and this will be my spearhead number 1", "I'll need a redfury for mid range and this will be my spearhead n2" and so on and so forth.
Finally some high quality battlereports of infinity thanks guys hope we see a little more
Yeeees! Infinity is the best wargame out there, please do bring it back!
Also Multi sniper rifle has DA ammo, witch doubles the saves on a succesful hit. Da ammo ussualy can be used only in reactive on other weapons - multi sniper rifle :D.
Yay Infinity!!!
Good job, hope to see more!
Also. Are you ready for the new season N5 soon :D?
Yeah! We are excited about it.
Just picked up the 2 player starter and the JSA box. Thanks for streaming this. 1 quick question what is that terrain?
It's the terrain from Operation Crimson Stone, and the matching expansion pack. It's the same base terrain as the last few operafion boxes and their expansions. It looks like their 2 eachbof the terrain pack and terrain expansion
@@obyiscushobbyandgaming A wild Obyiscus has appeared in the comments! :)
Yes, yes you should. I haven't watch MWG much in recent years because honestly GW games are pretty meh. I'd love to see you guys do infinity which is a fantastic game, plus your narrative style game and campaign could also work with infinity. With N5 coming out in the fall it's a perfect time
It's probably the best game i never played :(
I was interested at first but "the lower, the better" logic is such a red flag for any game.
Infinity Content! Please make more! I love this game!
Please more infinity battle reports
Bakunin is just called Bakunin or 'the Furries' :P
Also you don't want to roll lower, you want to roll as close to your stat but not over it - like blackjack, you want to hit 21 but not go over!!
I'm no expert in N4 and this isn't a criticism but to help people watching and also to help you guys!
I think:
The impetuous guys can't get cover bonuses
When you're hit you can choose to fail the guts roll to get to cover unless religious
If you fail the dodge face to face you don't move :-(
Bikes can't take cover either even if not impetuous, when set up you can choose if your bikes are impetuous or not (how much gas in the tank?!)
For JSA : You can also make that biker your Lt so you have impetuous, Lt, and regular orders to go full BANZAI! and then if/when they die can have a chain of command on the kempetai to take over!!
When Lukas critically dodges, the crits cancel all normal hits even if the number is lower than the other non-crit rolls.
For healing with a doctor its their WIP and for paramedic its the patients Phys (possibly at -3? can't remember exactly!)
Also your Lt identity should be secret unless you use the Lt order on them :-)
300pts is the 'standard' (like 40k 2K) for tournaments and stuff though anywhere from 150-400 is viable and each bracket has some tactical variance!
BUT it was an entertaining and FUN batrep and I can see the cobwebs coming off :-) The clear communication and transparency is a large part of why Infinity works so well as a game.
Hope to see much more Infinity content especially with the new edition next month!
Infinity back on Miniwargaming?!?!?
I honestly thought you nailed the rules. Most battle reports miss something somewhere. Nice to see a game, ready to dive back in in N5, I played only in N3. There is a lot of terrain in that box.
42:40 If it's a f2f, and you successfully dodge, but your opponent's successful hit was higher than your dodge roll, you don't get to dodge.
So no move either
@@SkaredCast yeah, although the HI probably could have Guts'd behind the smoke
@@TylerProvick the HI?
@@SkaredCast the penitent, I think
This was a fun one to watch. I plan on getting into Infinity when the N5 edition comes out.
1. The balanced failed save on the rocket launcher, I would also have counted as a double fail
2. In the case that you retroactively tried to dodge, realizing you had another unit in LOS of the heavy rocket Ryuken, we would have skipped it and moved on. Sometimes battle is chaotic and things get missed.
You should bring their new game WARCROW!!! :D
More Infinity please, such a great game!
Thanks for putting on guys, great game.
