I've been watching Forestry's videos going back to the fat bike touring period, and this is the first time I've commented. I can only speak for myself, but I don't watch these videos for the final destinations or summits; I watch them for the real life journeys he takes us on: hiking, the practical testing of gear, trail repairs and building, histories of the regions, recipes with the slow cooker and now air fryer, the shopping and truck stops, the van builds, the sewing machine, and of course the Rocco exploits. I get as much or more satisfaction from these kinds of videos as anything else he makes.
By the way, watch out for 'limber tail' condition when Rocco has been climbing and gets warm and then plunges into the cold river: the dog loses control of the tail and then gets lethargic and uncomfortable laying and sitting. It's temporary but it got me worried the first time it happened to my Berner.

There are two definitions of "success" when it comes to outdoor adventure. The first one is where you got to your intended destination via your intended route. The second is where you had a good adventure, saw some beauty, and came back with a good story to tell.
Chasing the first definition of success will eventually lead you to at the very least, disappointment and at the very worst, serious injury or death.
Chasing the second definition will give you a lifetime of happiness in the wilderness.
    You chose wisely :)

Tsar mountain looks like a monster. You were very wise to turn back. You have Rocko to think about as well. Good call.

Excellent look at the Canada wilderness. I was having second thoughts about the tragedy found in one of my favorite books, INTO THE WILD”. The young adventurer lost his life because the stream he walked across, became a surging river a few months later, and he could not cross it. Was happy to see you cross over the river, and not wait another day. I love your video work…..keep it coming!
