They said they are a rock group with females in it and wouldn’t degrade themselves to sell Out like that. Love them!
"Barracuda" was written when one sleazy record company started spreading a rumor they were in a lesbian relationship. It was basically a giant "F*** YOU."
And, of course, in the videos, you see a bunch of full-body shots of Nancy and just close-ups of Ann, because Ann put on weight in the '80s. Totally eye-rolly.

Please check out the live acoustic version called “Heart-Alone (Alive in Seattle)”. It’s just Ann and Nancy. You’ll REALLY get to hear how unbelievable they are
You need to check out "These Dreams", preferrably a live version, to see Nancy kill it on the lead vocal too. (She's a great singer in her own right, who just happens to have the greatest female rock singer of all time in her band).
Ann’s one true love of 10 years from when she first started out, fell out of love with her and she was broken hearted and Alone was written. Pure strong vocals.
I had the pleasure of seeing them live a few year ago (pre-covid) and she can STILL belt it out!!! They are the most successful girl rock band! Heart live is amazing!!!
I fell in love with Heart in the early 70's I have never heard another female who could sing as well as Ann and her sister Nancy was truly the first female guitarist that was the bomb, she can put most male guitarists to shame. They have many more songs that are the ultimate. From the very start they were and are my favorite female singers. I can never get enough of Heart
I love seeing you younger people listen to greatness an feel what I felt growing up in the 80s an 90s,now feeling the nostalgia of back then u guys look like u feel what I felt
I love this song. When interviewed the Wilson sisters say they prefer their music from the 70s to the songs they did in the 80s like this one. It is nice to know they are still creating music now.
I didn’t know they said that, but it’s clear they tried to reinvent themselves in the 80s from the album title alone. This song was on the album simply titled “Heart”, and at the time I thought they were a new band with an eponymous named album (typical for new artists). I later learned they had a whole library that preceded it.
Nancy Wilson might be the most underrated musician of all time. Ann is the lead and rightly gets her accolades but Nancy is soooo rock solid (pun intended)
Pate Benetar had a voice on par with Ann Wilson and she rocked every bit as hard. I believe you have reacted to one of her songs already-also the blond on guitar is Nancy Wilson, her sister. They started in 1967, and are yet another example of performers with real talent that requires little enhancing beyond amps on the guitars and the microphone for Ann. As you saw when they did Stairway to Heaven in front of Led Zeppelin, they are fearless and capable!
Love Benatar but the only song she rocked hard on was Heartbreaker. By 1985 she was 100% pop. I’ve seen both Pat and Heart live many times and both are great entertainers but Pat comes nowhere close to rocking as hard as Heart.
Heart is known for Ann's amazing vocals, but Nancy is a fantastic vocalist in her own right AND considered one of the best female guitarist of all time too!
The very definition of a 'power ballad.' Power is indeed the word for the Wilson sisters - forces to be reckoned with. "That woman" on the guitar - Nancy - is such an underrated bad-ass and her sis Ann - while petite in stature - has the voice of a giantess. Commanding, compassionate and poignantly urgent. Lucky enough to see them in concert several times - beyond AMAZING. Seek these other songs by them 'So Bad' and 'There's The Girl' (these are my faves along w/this - arguably their finest song).
Their 70’s song “Magic Man” is a must! Then in the 80’s (like this one) they had another massive hit called- “all I wanna do is make love to you.” OFFICIAL video is a MUST!! Please react to those 2- y’all will be 😳🤯in the best ways!! 💜💙👍🤘🏼
Nancy Wilson! High kicking, guitar jammin', and horseback riding towards you, 5:10. Does it get any better? I don't think so. She was a big crush of mine as a teenager. Thanks for the reaction!
One of the few female led band songs from the 80’s that when it came out, I knew it was an instant classic. The Wilson sisters are rock goddesses in my book
I would encourage them to react to These Dreams, especially considering Nancy handles the vocals on that song. It really showcases just how rounded both sisters are.
Heart! The one and only sister act who will bring every emotion to you in a song. Ann’s voice, Nancy’s guitar playing . Anyone who dismisses them doesn’t know true music.
When this album came out (40-ish years ago), I drove an hour to the mall to the record store to get this on CD. I listened to the whole thing on the drive back. This song always seems to bring back the emotions from those teen angst years. Always a pleasure with you guys! Happy New Years!
Heart “Alone” = best song of theirs. And I always loved the female guitarist. I think she could hold her own among the great guitarists who are men as well.
LORD have mercy, been waiting SO LONG for you all to do this one. I've been hooked on your channel for like a year now and I watch the facial expressions. When the first killer guitar lick comes in, J's reaction was priceless. The bug eyes told it all. LOVE this song, LOVE this band... Gotta listen to Crazy on You, Bad Animals but for sure Dog and Butterfly to see their softer side... Even Dreamboat Annie will give you a good feeling. Kick it out is another one you will enjoy.
You should check out their song ”All I Want to Do Is Make Love to You”. It’s from around this era or a little later and tells a story. For another female rocker, check out Warlock (later known as Doro after the lead singer) ”All We Are” or ”I Rule the Ruins”.
Who doesn't appreciate their parents music anymore?? We were brought up in a time where music really ment something. It had a message or story to share ❤
Heart was the first women lead band in the U.S. Ann is an incredible vocalist, Nancy a peerless guitarist and their harmonies without compare. They're sisters out of Seattle that found some Canadian musicians and formed Heart.
No members of Heart were Canadian. There is a lot of misconception about that. They based themselves in Canada for several years because roger Fishers brother, Mike, who was Heart's manager and whom Ann was in a relationship with, was a draft evader who was living in Vancouver.
A English /American band with a female at the helm ( Chrissie Hynde) is The Pretenders and they are soooo good here are some really good songs ( Brass in Pocket)( I stand by you )(don't get me wrong)( back on the Chain Gang)( middle of the road)( my city was gone )which she sings about her hometown Akron Ohio

Ann is a amazing vocalist but nancy's harmony throughout this song is so good and overshadowed by Ann's big note. as high as Ann sings Nancy's harmony is higher
I believe the high harmonies are actually by Tom Kelly (one of the guys who wrote and recorded "Alone" originally). He worked on this album as a backing singer.
@@dwood21851 - There's no doubt the sisters can belt out lead vocals AND backing vocals. Maybe they brought in Kelly because he co-wrote it, which would be cool (especially as it turned out to be their biggest hit in a lot of places).

Please check out the live acoustic version called “Heart-Alone (Alive in Seattle)”. It’s just Ann and Nancy. You’ll REALLY get to hear how unbelievable they are
Yes, 100%. Almost a different song.
I'll second that.
Totally agree, that live stripped down version shows their unequalled incredible talent!!!!!!!
Please note: She was playing rhythm guitar. The mullet haired guy was doing the solo.
Absolutely correct
A perfect song! When she hit the really high note, it was cool to see you really took notice. Most impressive
This song gives me goosebumps every time. Such an amazing song and wonderful band!
Singer: Ann Wilson. Guitarist: Nancy Wilson. Both outstanding.
Ann just knows when to hit that incredible notes that we love. That powerful wail of hers has always gave me a feeling of shivers down my spine.
Timeless song, such vigor and strength in her fantastic voice.
I had the absolute privilege of seeing Heart live, in their prime multiple times. They were and are absolutely incredible
I saw Heart in 2013. Ann performed the song Alone without accompaniment. Her powerful voice was unbelievable to hear live. It was a fabulous concert.
Chills me to the bone. Still. So many years later. Sweet Dreams, the same. Wow.
She's singing, "How do I get you alone?" I think she finally found a guy she has feelings for, but hasn't found a way to tell him yet.
Exactly. I think it's pretty clear in the lyrics
Basically she just wants to get the guy somewhere private where she can explain her feelings for him but she doesn't know how to go about doing it
This song is a cover. The original was released in 1983 and is by a male AOR duo called I-Ten.
Either that,or he might be referring to the line "till now, I always got by on my own " 🤷♀️
I went to one of their concerts, and her voice actually shook my body...I thought I was having palpitations!
I saw them in concert once, they opened with "Crazy on You", her voice is amazing!
The Blonde- Nancy Wilson. Lead guitar- Howard Leese... Seen them LIVE 3 times. Fantastic, every time. Try- Heart- "There's The Girl"- next...
Best female rock band of all time. You must listen to "Never" and "What About Love".
"Never" is the tune that sold me on Heart!
Don't ever underestimate Nancy, the beauty playing the rhythm guitar. And signing, she's awesome.
The voice of Ann Wilson is absolute world class. I can't imagine a more powerful rock voice.
Had the great privilege of seeing Heart live in concert when they were “Just” and opening band for Chicago. Knew they were going to be amazing.
Ann and Nancy are awesome. When Ann hits those notes...sends chills down your spine
Guitar Girl is Nancy, Ann's sister. She also sings harmony, several notes above Ann. She can hold her own, for sure.
These Dreams is another great one of theirs, but you can’t really go wrong with Heart! They are phenomenal artists! 💜
I would encourage them to react to These Dreams, especially considering Nancy handles the vocals on that song. It really showcases just how rounded both sisters are.
That song was originally planned for Stevie Nicks. Nancy was sounding extra-raspy when they first recorded it, too, cause she was getting over a cold.
Heart! The one and only sister act who will bring every emotion to you in a song. Ann’s voice, Nancy’s guitar playing . Anyone who dismisses them doesn’t know true music.
Heart was a great concert! Not an ounce of disappointment! They gave it all and more, best female rockers ever!
When this album came out (40-ish years ago), I drove an hour to the mall to the record store to get this on CD. I listened to the whole thing on the drive back. This song always seems to bring back the emotions from those teen angst years. Always a pleasure with you guys! Happy New Years!
Bad Animals was released in June 1987, which makes it 35 years, not 40.
@@tammys.1237 Thanks. Couldn’t remember exactly, 35 or 40. It was a while ago, likely before Our hosts were born.
Oh i think i just had a taperecorder or what you call it in English back then 😂
Heart “Alone” = best song of theirs. And I always loved the female guitarist. I think she could hold her own among the great guitarists who are men as well.
The piano is what really makes the background musicals so excellent, along with Wilson's voice, it is a very powerful and "touching" song!!!!
Ann and Nancy Wilson are the two sisters of Heart . So Great. Still jamming 😊 Love you guy's love your show God Bless 🎉
No other girls can ever beat heart in my opinion.. they rule so heavily to me!
You MUST react to “There’s The Girl”. The guitar player is Nancy Wilson, Ann’s sister, and sings lead on it.
Actually she’s from Cuyahoga Falls. But both cities are in Summit County.
@@huchlvr thank you for that but I'm not sure where you're info came from, because I live near where she was born and that is Akron and where she attended high school and that is Firestone High School also in Akron
@@tjhunger8644 thanks for the clarification. But she has stated several times that she’s a native of Cuyahoga Falls. Maybe that’s where she was born? Or where she lived when she went big?
Great reference. They did great music. Another I had sort of forgotten about.
Always fun watching your reactions. Handsome couple!
Heart’s style and genre has evolved many times over the many decades they’ve been around, but they’ve always kept that POWER!
@@tanisdevelopment I’ve seen them twice live. I’m not sure about the album but she for sure does live
@@dwood21851 - There's no doubt the sisters can belt out lead vocals AND backing vocals. Maybe they brought in Kelly because he co-wrote it, which would be cool (especially as it turned out to be their biggest hit in a lot of places).
Top tier writing, along with These Dreams. The piano part in this song has got to be one of the best EVER!!
When a HEART song comes on the radio, I have to crank it up! Ann Wilson's powerhouse vocals and sister Nancy's guitar licks are awesome! Please react to "Barracuda", "Crazy On You", "All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You", "Never" and "Magic Man".
Yes, these but I also love their songs 'Will you be there (in the morning)' and 'These dreams' 😀
i love this song by heart. i recommend other female rockers: "brass in pocket" by The pretenders, "Violet" by Hole, "the hunger" by the distillers, "take it off" by the donnas, "cities in dust" bu siouxsie and the banshees
Siouxsee and the Banshees, yes!!! I would also recommend their songs Peek-a-boo and Kiss Them For Me.
i agree, i love this song. another female rock band that i would suggest is The Warning, three awesome sisters! Should start with Dust to Dust, Evolve or Survive (can find live versions of all, so they won't get blocked).
I saw them in concert back in the day and yes, my hair was blown back!!! They're amazing!!!!!!!!!
As an adult this song is just a Vocal masterpiece. When it came out I was a teenager and completely fell in love with Nancy Wilson!!✌️✌️✌️
Yep - 11 year old me was madly in love with Nancy when this video came out - beautiful, talented, and sassy!
I love all of Hearts songs but my own all time personal favorite by them is and always will be "Who Will You Run To" A great song to react to! Also, a close second song I love by them is "There's The Girl" actually sung by her sister Nancy.
