  • 2016 Mazda 6 Buzzing speaker Fix. The best Fix would be to install new speakers but this is what I did to fix it in my driveway. No special tools required. Please watch the video in its entirety before tackling this job - There was a mistake I made with the handle bezel that does not get fixed until the end and I recommend you go out and get some additional door clips before you start. Enjoy

    Thank you! These are perfect instructions. I would advise using silicone adhesive instead of superglue. Silicone is flexible and it needs some flex

    I removed the flaking, rusted paint and cleaned the area. Used Gorilla glue the reinforced with small strips of Gorilla tape. No sound quality loss. You would think there would have been a recall on this at some point.

      I agree - It seems like this issue is pretty common. You would think either Bose or Mazda would step up and address the issue.

      hi all. same problem here mazda 3 2015. I am currently in process of claim with mazda's dealer and they say it is not a manufacturing fold and it is not covered in my extended warranty.I was there already two times. they took some photos of it and sent it to official mazda site to be inspected. I am pretty sure they are just stretching time till my warranty is over. I will fix it myself. But I am done with mazda. no more

      @@intergalacticsucker1724 It is a shame that Mazda would not repair it and use it as an opportunity to have you test drive a new model Mazda loaner to entice you to be a repeat customer on a new car. I think it is short-sighted on Mazda's end to lose a customer over a minor repair.

    Thanks for the video. I broke 8 of the 9 panel clips, owing to not having a proper tool and the temperature being under 20F. TIP- if you don't have or can't wait for Mazda clips, the 'Needa?' part available at Autozone labeled as "Nissan Body Door Panel Retainers" part number 458230 were a better match than the 'Mazda' labelled part by the same producer. (Bonus: there are 4 of them in a package vs. 2 of the Mazda for the same price,) The part that slides in the door will be slightly looser than the Mazda, but if you take the foam washer and move it from the door to the panel side it fixes the looseness. Worked like a charm. Thank you again for the great video.

    I did this over the weekend (2015 Mazda3 GT), sounding great. I used Loctite Extreme Glue, a water-resistant gel for multiple surfaces. I had thought about replacing the speaker but this is a weird 9-inch speaker, and thought I might lose something with a 6.5-inch replacement. I found one door clip on the ground after finishing -- think I should take the panel off again?

      Hi, we just got the Mazda for my son and same issue. I'm thinking about replacing the crappy Bose speakers as well. Do you know the ohms for these? I had 2ohm Bose speakers in my 2003 Mercedes CLK which I replaced years ago. Wondering if they also used 2 ohm speakers in these cars.

I have found several that are similar on Amazon, but none seem to be the exact ones that you show, and before I tackle this project on my end, I'd like to have some spare clips available. Looking at onlinemazdaparts.com it APPEARS the OEM PN is GJ6A68AB1 but I see 5 different drawings on the Parts Diagram, but the description does include: "A Fastener to retain the Interior Door Panel to the vehicle Door." so it should be the correct one. See my post above for what I *know* worked for me.

    So I just did those on both of my doors and while i was able to fix the speakers thanks to you, any idea why now the windows won’t roll down automatically? For example, my passenger window won’t roll down automatically when pressed on the passenger side but on the driver side I can have the passenger window roll down automatically from that side. I was careful removing all the clips and putting them back on. Anyone have any ideas?

      Igor - I would like to help but I did not replace the speaker. I fixed my existing speaker. I did a quick search and found the following speakers on Amazon. amzn.to/3ebGj2J you would also need the harness amzn.to/3ggvONy This is with the assumption that you have the 2014 Mazda 6 touring edition with Bose system and navigation. The link is to an aftermarket replacement 6.5" speaker that should work with your car. No promises, but this is what I would order if I was getting a replacement for the door speakers. 1- you used the wrong glue, superglue is too hard, you need a silicone sealant glue like gorilla glue.
    2- you didn’t mention long you waited. Id say normally 12h for a good result with the right glue.

    Was the buzzing happening even when the radio is off? Mine's buzzing (or seems to) from around the upper inner passenger door. Approx inside from the side view mirror. Annoying for a new 2018 Signature.

    • @DevilDogg119
      @DevilDogg119  5 років тому

      No - The buzzing was only occurring when the radio was on and when a lower frequency sound was produced by the speaker. I initially thought the sound was emanating from the dash as it sounded like buzzing or rattling plastic. I was able to track it down by adjusting the left and right balance on the radio controls while the radio was playing and the volume turned up. After doing this it was quickly apparent that the issue was with both front door speakers. - Strange that you have the same youtube name as me. - I hope this helps.

      Know it’s been a while. If you’re still having the problem, I wonder if it is the plastic piece behind the door handle. I’ve heard reports it vibrates in some of the newer 6s. See if pressing on the plastic behind the door handle makes it go away
