2017 Chevy Colorado 2.8L Diesel Air Filter Change
Переглядів 2,2 тис.4 роки тому
Air Filter Change for the 2017 Chevy Colorado 2.8 L Diesel. This should be similar for the 2016 to 2019 models and the GMC Canyon. Check to make sure that the Air filter is the proper size for your year vehicle before ordering. I listed the products I used in the links below but once again please check to make sure you have the correct air filter for your truck. The only tools you need are a la...
Mazda 6 speaker fix
Переглядів 41 тис.5 років тому
2016 Mazda 6 Buzzing speaker Fix. The best Fix would be to install new speakers but this is what I did to fix it in my driveway. No special tools required. Please watch the video in its entirety before tackling this job - There was a mistake I made with the handle bezel that does not get fixed until the end and I recommend you go out and get some additional door clips before you start. Enjoy Lo...
You need to remove the remaining clips and reapply them to the door panel before reattaching it or you'll have alignment issues.
Worked like a charm! Thanks 👍
Thanks, easy video before I head out into the heat to swap mine 😁
Not the best video out there 1- you used the wrong glue, superglue is too hard, you need a silicone sealant glue like gorilla glue. 2- you didn’t mention long you waited. Id say normally 12h for a good result with the right glue.
Do you have the diesel version? I wanted to try this to try and weed out a problem.
yes it is the diesel version
Should i unplug the battery?
You definitely can to avoid an accidental short. However, I did not.
thank you!! I had the same issue on a 2015 mazda3, and it worked with superglue. Let's see how long it last but at least I can listen to music now!!!
Extremely bad design , some how water is getting into the doors, my speakers back where completely wet
i think the exposure is a bit high in the video or maybe there's just a reflection, but i'm having trouble seeing what type of screws the speaker has - i THINK it's phillips head?
My 2016 Mazda w/ Bose speakers is doing the same thing on the passenger side. So far the driver's side door sounds good. Looks like I've got a new project...
So I just did those on both of my doors and while i was able to fix the speakers thanks to you, any idea why now the windows won’t roll down automatically? For example, my passenger window won’t roll down automatically when pressed on the passenger side but on the driver side I can have the passenger window roll down automatically from that side. I was careful removing all the clips and putting them back on. Anyone have any ideas?
Sounds like a loose electrical connection or a wire got pulled out of the back of a connector when the door panel was removed.
There's a screw behind the door handle too.
I did this over the weekend (2015 Mazda3 GT), sounding great. I used Loctite Extreme Glue, a water-resistant gel for multiple surfaces. I had thought about replacing the speaker but this is a weird 9-inch speaker, and thought I might lose something with a 6.5-inch replacement. I found one door clip on the ground after finishing -- think I should take the panel off again?
Hi, we just got the Mazda for my son and same issue. I'm thinking about replacing the crappy Bose speakers as well. Do you know the ohms for these? I had 2ohm Bose speakers in my 2003 Mercedes CLK which I replaced years ago. Wondering if they also used 2 ohm speakers in these cars.
@@dariusf2 These are 1 ohm. Seriously! Crutchfield has a 2 ohm PowerBass composite system they recommend, but I called a rep and asked about the ohm difference and he said I should just put Dynamat sound deadening panels in...
Thank you! These are perfect instructions. I would advise using silicone adhesive instead of superglue. Silicone is flexible and it needs some flex
Hey Bro thanks for this Video 👍🏼👍🏼
Having this same issue on my 2015 Mazda 3. Thanks for such a comprehensive video!
How does it drive now nine months later?
still enjoy the truck
Thanks so much for your help! Finally the rattling speaker has been fixed 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for this!
No problem - Glad it helped!
Super helpful, did this and the glue is drying!
Glad it helped!
figured this out on my own actually. I guess it's a very common annoyance with Mazda6 :P
Yes, it must be a very common issue. I thought this video would go off into UA-cam oblivion; guess not. - Great minds think alike.
This was amazingly helpful! Thank you!
Great video mate
Thanks 👍
You’re awesome you’re greeeeeeeeeeat, thank you so fucking much i love you
Glad you liked the video!
Watch the entire video! He makes a mistake but doesn’t tell you until the end of the video! Fortunately, if you didn’t damage the handle area already you can unscrew and then separate the bezel of the handle to safely reinstall! For some reason the OP never corrected the video so just trying to help some people out!
Yes, one out of the two broke - I put a comment in the description to watch the whole video. I'll see if I can edit it to show something in the beginning. Still new to this. - Thanks for the advise.
I wouldn't use superglue, when it dries it goes brittle, I used clear waterproof silicone
Great suggestion - I used something that set up fast and used the gell for a little more thickness. I have since sold the car but it worked for over a year and was still going strong when I sold it.
How long does it need to dry with silicone?
I had the same issue with my 2015 Mazda 3 GT, luckily the speaker was replaced under warranty.
I have the same car and issue. Did u get an extended warranty? When was it fixed?
Hi ,help me, i search a speker but i dont know series mazda 6 skyactive 2014
Igor - I would like to help but I did not replace the speaker. I fixed my existing speaker. I did a quick search and found the following speakers on Amazon. amzn.to/3ebGj2J you would also need the harness amzn.to/3ggvONy This is with the assumption that you have the 2014 Mazda 6 touring edition with Bose system and navigation. The link is to an aftermarket replacement 6.5" speaker that should work with your car. No promises, but this is what I would order if I was getting a replacement for the door speakers. I hope this helps.
I did it, and I fixed mazda 3 speakers, thank you
No problem - Glad the video helped save you some dollars
Awesome tutorial! Thank-you so much!
no problem - glad it helped
For how long do you have waited before you put the speaker back into the door after glued it?
I waited long enough for the glue to set up and then the maximum drying time shown on the glue bottle before I turned on the radio.
Great video! I’m about to start this today. Approximately how long did it take from when you applied the glue to the speaker to when it was ready to plug back in?
I waited about 1hr to put it back in but waited the afternoon before operating the speaker. Read the cure time for the glue that you choose to use. The glue thst i used had a very quick cure time.
Thanks for the video. I broke 8 of the 9 panel clips, owing to not having a proper tool and the temperature being under 20F. TIP- if you don't have or can't wait for Mazda clips, the 'Needa?' part available at Autozone labeled as "Nissan Body Door Panel Retainers" part number 458230 were a better match than the 'Mazda' labelled part by the same producer. (Bonus: there are 4 of them in a package vs. 2 of the Mazda for the same price,) The part that slides in the door will be slightly looser than the Mazda, but if you take the foam washer and move it from the door to the panel side it fixes the looseness. Worked like a charm. Thank you again for the great video.
Great advice! - Thanks for the TIP. The commenter "TheSquirelmommy" had specifically asked for the part number to use in the comments below. It would make sense that the plastic would be more brittle in the cold weather. I'm glad you liked the video. - Thanks.
Hi Dave... do you have any idea what the OEM part number is for the door clips? I have found several that are similar on Amazon, but none seem to be the exact ones that you show, and before I tackle this project on my end, I'd like to have some spare clips available. Any help that you or someone else on here can offer would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Autozone should carry them or just google mazda door panel clips and they should come up. Sorry i dont have the oem part number.
"Johnha1980" found the part number and posted it in his comment. Here is a repost of his comment - See below. Thanks for the video. I broke 8 of the 9 panel clips, owing to not having a proper tool and the temperature being under 20F. Looking at onlinemazdaparts.com it APPEARS the OEM PN is GJ6A68AB1 but I see 5 different drawings on the Parts Diagram, but the description does include: "A Fastener to retain the Interior Door Panel to the vehicle Door." so it should be the correct one. See my post above for what I *know* worked for me.
How long did you let the glue cure before playing music?
about 6 hours
Great video, love that you showed a quick overview that answered my questions and then went into more detail!
Thanks
I removed the flaking, rusted paint and cleaned the area. Used Gorilla glue the reinforced with small strips of Gorilla tape. No sound quality loss. You would think there would have been a recall on this at some point.
I agree - It seems like this issue is pretty common. You would think either Bose or Mazda would step up and address the issue.
hi all. same problem here mazda 3 2015. I am currently in process of claim with mazda's dealer and they say it is not a manufacturing fold and it is not covered in my extended warranty.I was there already two times. they took some photos of it and sent it to official mazda site to be inspected. I am pretty sure they are just stretching time till my warranty is over. I will fix it myself. But I am done with mazda. no more
@@intergalacticsucker1724 It is a shame that Mazda would not repair it and use it as an opportunity to have you test drive a new model Mazda loaner to entice you to be a repeat customer on a new car. I think it is short-sighted on Mazda's end to lose a customer over a minor repair.
Thanks a bunch. Good thing I watched thru to see the door-handle bit. Also, clamps were tricky. But again, thanks, I got the job done.
Very good catch on the door handle screw 'muff'.
No problem! - Yeah, I was bummed about the door handle.
Nice video, thanks
No problem - glad it could help
good job fella thank you
No problem
Extremely helpful. Thanks buddy.
Glad to see so many people found this useful.
Was the buzzing happening even when the radio is off? Mine's buzzing (or seems to) from around the upper inner passenger door. Approx inside from the side view mirror. Annoying for a new 2018 Signature.
No - The buzzing was only occurring when the radio was on and when a lower frequency sound was produced by the speaker. I initially thought the sound was emanating from the dash as it sounded like buzzing or rattling plastic. I was able to track it down by adjusting the left and right balance on the radio controls while the radio was playing and the volume turned up. After doing this it was quickly apparent that the issue was with both front door speakers. - Strange that you have the same youtube name as me. - I hope this helps.
Know it’s been a while. If you’re still having the problem, I wonder if it is the plastic piece behind the door handle. I’ve heard reports it vibrates in some of the newer 6s. See if pressing on the plastic behind the door handle makes it go away
I'd be interested to know how long this lasts. If it does end up cracking, silicone adhesive would probably last longer, but also take way longer to dry.
Still working well - Has been approx 2mo since the repair.
5 months and still working!
Mine lasted 2 months... thinking about fix with hot glue now
@@siukslynas That stinks - I wonder if the glue did not adhere fully to the rusted metal. I'm at 8mo now and still working fine.
@@DevilDogg119 maybe it is better to sand down the rust before applying the glue?
Very helpful video, thanks!
No problem - Glad I could help.
