    Thanks for this video, Darius! I just had a pro install a new speaker to remedy this exact passenger-side problem and when I went to pick it up, the other side started rattling. Instead of bringing it back to them, I’m gonna do it myself with the help of this video, so thanks so much.

    Probably the most detailed video I've come across. I have a mazda 6 Estate 2014 model and I'm experiencing this same problem. Funnily enough, it seems to make that same rattling noise as yours so I'm convinced it's the same issue. Eitherway I feel confident enough to try it myself. Many thanks again brother!

    I didnt know I needed to know this. My speakers have annoyed me for years and I have just ignored but the crown, is mentioning sound deadening mats. I have now repaired the Bose and replaced rear tweeters while at it and put sound deadening throughout front and back doors and replaced the faded doo seals. Thank you for taking all the knocks to show us how to do it.

    Thank you so very much for this video. I was quoted $340 to replace my front passenger side speaker as I was informed that my Bose 9” sub was blown. I was baffled because I like bass but not so much to blow the speaker. I have a 2015 Mazda 3 Grand Touring and I started hearing the rattling this winter. I watched your video and knew this was probably my issue as well. I followed each step with my brother in law as I didn’t feel comfortable removing the door panel all by myself. And sure enough, almost half of my speaker was pulled away but with rust. We took q-tips and dipped them in isopropyl alcohol to wipe away all the rust, let it dry and glued it down. We used small clamps to hold in place, let the glue dry for a half an hour then reassembled everything. Only to find out that the left door was rattling too. I wasn’t quoted the replacement of that speaker. However, we were confident enough and did the other side too. We felt like pros doing the second side. High fives and all. Note: both doors had two plastic clips that broke half way when removing the door panels but we were able to reuse them in places that we didn’t think would compromise using the door to pull it shut near the handle on the inside. Worked like a charm. Many thanks!!! My system sounds like new again with no rattle anymore. You are freaking awesome and saved me what would have been almost $700. 👏 🤩 😎

      Also, for people who don’t feel comfortable removing the clips with a flathead screwdriver, they can buy something like this. GEARWRENCH Panel Clip Pliers - 3705 Black Large or similar.

    Your video is the only one I’ve watched that showed how to remove and reuse the door clips so thank you for that! None of mine broke, but the majority of them stayed in the door frame rather than the door panel. I knew I didn’t blow my speaker and started researching the issues with Mazda 6 with the Bose package. Sure enough passenger front was rusted and separated, bought some silicone adhesive and fixed it right up!

    I have 2015 Mazda 6 Atenza (similarly specced as the GT spec in the US I think) and the LHS (passenger side for me) is rattling like crazy. Had to turn down the bass to the -6 or whatever it is minimum and still can hear it. I'm not a very DIY inclined person so I might ask my regular indy mechanic to do it for me, and thankfully through your video he would then just follow it through haha (not many Mazda 6s here in Australia so I'm not sure on the general knowledge of this issue of regular mechanic). Only difference, i used a silicone tyle of glue. By my logic, superglue hardens and it is not flexible so after a while i will crack from vibrations. Silicone will not crack or break with age and it's rubbery so it gives it a bit of breathing space when the base hits... We shall see 🙂

    Had the same problem, Its caused by the crappy paint on the basket rusting. My fix has now lasted 2 years. Yup, it seems that ALL of the Mazdas using the Bose speakers have that problem (I have a 2013 & a 2015 CX-5 and both have had the problem). One difference I noticed is that your speakers appear to have a shield over the top (back) of the speaker to help keep moisture off the speaker. It is obviously not enough to protect the speaker and have seen others that modify a 10" speaker cone (shallow) to cover this 9" speaker (I have found zero 9" speaker cones out there that will work with these speakers)

    • @DariusBuildz
      @DariusBuildz  Рік тому

      Ohh. I figured they all have the water shield for the front speakers. But Infinity makes a 8" 2 ohm sub that fits and people have used it with success. But it was just cheaper to fix the Bose speaker and see how long it lasts, lol

    Just followed this video and fixed my speakers! Thank you! Has anyone had the issue where they put everything back and the auto-down windows don't work anymore? It's only on the front windows which is weird. All windows roll down, all locks work, the adjustable mirrors work, and the auto down works in the BACK windows, the auto-down on the front 2 windows is the only thing that isn't working, maybe a plug not fully seated?

    Ok so I just randomly did a fade balance test in my car as i always do and my front passenger side speaker is very low and has no bass. It has never been like this. Nice, but you need to peel off the rust under paint,
    If not, the rust will continue to grow all over the Speaker.
    Also, before applying the glue, you should clean the part in contact with the cardboard with some anticorrosive solution until there is no more rust (
    you can use a cotton swab with the solution) After that and it dries you can use the glue, since there is a large amount of rust that causes the speaker to deteriorate.
