  • This video will show you how to go about repair a blown speaker in the door of your 2016 Mazda 6. This repair cost me just under $33 and took about 30 minutes to complete. Dealership wanted $480 for the speakers and $200 for labor to have them install them.

    Thanks so much for sharing. My front right door speaker blew out this morning. Glad I found your video! Just an observation, but I did cringe a bit when you replaced your door panel before testing the speaker, but glad it worked. Thanks Tim!

    Why the heck didn't Mazda just have a removable speaker screen!?

    Thanks for this video! I am experiencing a rattle. The dealership told me that they wanted $400 for one blown speaker replacement and labor… I’m going to see if mine just needs to be glued!

    I'm not a fan of my Murano sound system. BOSE premium sound system it's called. They almost make it where you can not replace anything without going back to them. Noted I said almost! Plus my doors have normal looking speakers with magnets so this wouldn't help my car. Love the knowledge of the video anyhow.

    That's the exact speaker that's messed up in my 2016 Mazda6 GT! It has to be a manufacturing defect!

      @@luapcilgan9070 this worked perfectly for me. Just make sure you clean the surface properly and use plenty of silicone and grips. I left it like that 24 hours and it is still perfect to this day.

    If you yank those clips out like that plan on them breaking and have spares. The proper way is to put a tool on there and prop them out.

    Question: what’s the reason why you use those clamps? Can this job be done without them?

    • @timscholl17
      @timscholl17  3 роки тому +3

      After you put the glue down, the clamps help hold the speaker to the medal, allowing the adhesive to dry. Not sure how well it would work without the clamps.

      Because otherwise it would be fighting against gravity. You could probably get away with gluing it then turning it upside down and pressing down with your fingers / a stick or something. Maybe adding a few small weighted objects, stacks of coins or something dense to press down. You just want a decent seal.
