Great video! - It is amazing how many people have had this same issue with the Mazda 6 Bose Speakers. I agree with David Gross's comment below - This is definitely a manufacturing/design defect. It would be nice if Mazda issued a recall to fix the issue.

Its a problem with all of the Bose Speakers in the Mazda cars . The lower spec speakers work fine.

The rip off car stereo repair shop want $240 to replace my Mazda 6 speaker. I fixed it for $8. Nice post! Mazda should recall this as it is the same for all their cars. .

David Gross same problem and same fix, agree, Mazda should accept this failure and with no cost

@@mariodelgado5997 Agree 100% - it affects the mazda 3 bose as well, that rust/corrosion is clearly a manufacturing defect. Mazda customer service did try to help get this fixed for me out of warranty for like $140... mazda has so many good things going for it and they are letting stupid stuff like this ruin there reputation and ownership experience.

    Unbelievable lol
45 minutes to an hour and I had both front doors pulled apart, speakers out and super glued, and all put back together. Sounds brand new! Thank you

Thanks for the tutorial, had the same issue for a 2014 Mazda 3 with the Bose system. Same driver side speaker. Parts were going to be around 100+, I just put some sealant on the back part that was detached, and put some foam there to hopefully stop and water penetration and now it looks like the issue is solved.

Great step by step mate. Helped lot of lads here it seems. I would recommend buying 5-10 mazda 6 door clips on ebay or amazon for 5-6€ because you will most likely going to rip them off.

ahhh... okay. This is the first video I have come across when trying to google cx-5 audio rattle. common mazda issue it seems. I have 3 speakers in the dash area that I am praying is not the issue with, but at the very least, both front side door speakers are doing this. bose system as well. thanks for the vid

This is most likely to happend with the door speakers, as the problem seems to be water drippen down on the speaker membrane. A design flaw. Glue the rip with epoxy resin or some other good and a bit flexible glue.

Thank you! This helped me. My speakers were more than 1/2 separated. I used silicon waterproof sealant to resecure. Rattle is completely gone! You really need to pull hard on the door panel to get the clips off. Definitely worth getting replacement clips or a tool to remove them correctly as I broke a few getting them on and off.

Same problem in my 2016 Mazda 6 Touring. I thought it was a blown speaker on my passenger side despite rarely playing music loudly. I've been happy with the car despite this, but it's good to know this is a relatively easy fix. Just disappointing that a car that has always been in a garage and otherwise babied would still have this issue!

I have the same problem on my 2016 Mazda 6 Touring. Started when the car was relatively new (and still under warranty). They tried a couple of things that didn't work but obviously never looked at this (or maybe they knew but didn't want to eat the cost of replacing the speaker). I have a service appointment this week for other items. I am going to point to the records that show this was an early issue that was never properly addressed and see if I can get them to come clean and replace it. If not, I will do the repair.

My driver door had this issue and now my passenger door has it , little tip , the clips that hold the door panel on can break / snap , if you slide some cotton or string around the clip and pull tight , the clips come out without breaking.

Have the same problem with my Mazda3's Bose system... problem is (in my car at least) the door speakers are actually special 1 ohm woofers so if you replace it with anything else you're going to loose all the bass in your system... and the only one who sells the same size 1 ohm woofer? You guessed it, Bose for $160 each!
