Description:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remastered compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It is being developed by BioWare with assistance from Abstraction Games and Blind Squirrel Games, and published by Electronic Arts. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.
Development on the Legendary Edition remasters commenced in 2019 under the direction of Mac Walters. Although BioWare initially considered other alternatives, they ultimately decided to approach the project as a remaster as opposed to a remake in order to preserve the original trilogy experience. The compilation was announced on November 7, 2020, and released on May 14, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs. Set in the Milky Way galaxy within an alternate universe during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against an impending threat. Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.

For real I just watched a video with over 100k views where the instant the guy got control he beelined to Nihlus and skipped about half a dozen conversations. I actually had an aneurysm.
@@LMarti13 I was watching a channel named Hollow or something and he skipped dialogue, he applied points to a weapon training he wasn't using AND he wasn't assigning squad points. He might have changed that later, but I stopped watching after the first 20 mins. I was low key mad some one would play like that... In hindsight, I think might be slightly toxic.

@@LivingSun Once you've finished ME2, it might be worth checking out the song - mainly mentioning because it has potential spoilering shots in the video footage, or in the song itself.
At least, as I recall, it doesn't go into ME3 spoilers, as IIRC, it didn't come out before that did.
Seeing you nail what the conversation system is like, with options on the left expanding on things and options on the right progressing things, brought me immediate relief.

Keep in mind that the paragon choice wont always lead to the best outcome. So you can mix it up as much as you want.
The classes are sort of like the classic fighter, rogue, wizard triangle lots of RPGs use. Biotics are a pretty cool way to have the wizard represented in space.
I initially decked shepard out to be a full one-man-army; because I generally don't trust AI squadmates to win if I'm not the main damage dealer. Once I realized they were not complete incompetents I gradually started taking a few support perks.
Fair haha, it's just most of the renegade options have seems a bit rude and nasty so far which I'm not wanting to click lol, we shall see xD
@@LivingSun I generally play mostly paragon. But there are a few, very specific decisions in the story, when renegade is just satisfying. Especially when conversation interrupts are introduced in ME2 and 3.

Renegade does have nasty or extreme moments, but overall it’s not really good vs bad. More like idealism vs pragmatism. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds.

When i buy the legendary edition i will use vanguard. All of my 9 full playthroughs of the trilogy has been as infiltrator.

2 things that you should know:
To answer your question about Classic and Legendary Level Scaling.
In classic mode the level cap is 60 but you wouldn’t be able to max it out unless you did another playthough.
Legendary lowers the cap and doubles the exp so that you can reach max rank in one playthough
During dialogue, choices usually go as follows:
The top answer is Paragon (Good boy)
Middle is neutral
Bottom is Renagade (Bad Boy)
What about the incentives for porting a 60 leveled character into ME2 game?! In the original the bonus size on the start depended on which level character reached in ME1 playthrough! Will playing this on Legendary Mode net the same benefits for the 2nd game as was in the original in that case?
@@Summon256 I’m not actually sure in this case. I’d assume they would give you the same benefits since you’re still technically reaching level 60 just in half the time.
@@stuckbigfoot7455 I figured this probably would be the case, since otherwise it is basically screwing over and punishing those, who was playing on Legendary Mode! And it just doesn't make any sense why would they do that! They also said they are integrating all the content from DLCs from last two games, which means a lot of weapons that were available for free at the start of both games won't be available this time around! Which means you will have to spend either more money, than in vanilla to buy all of them or there will be more new locations (or better said new spots in said locations, where there would be new items being found, that weren't there in the original game!), where you can pick them up during missions and stuff! Either way it would seem to suggest, that one would need to gain more credits to buy everything than it was in vanilla, unless they rebalanced the prices significantly and made everything much much cheaper than before! (i talk at least like half cheaper here or maybe even more, so that it would cover every single piece of equipment, that ever came in the DLC or Pre-Order form!) I would like someone, who progressed far enough into the 2nd game to varify that actually before i get the chance to jump into and play myself!
@@stuckbigfoot7455 It is also quite possible actually that they scrapped the bonuses entirely for the sake of "balance" so that everything would fall in line with the whole "DLC item integrating" scheme! So they might've though getting free 200/300k credits at the start might be unbalanced and borderline cheating, so they might have scrapped the entire thing and now you have to earn everything from rags to riches style...i kinda like that approach (makes you work harder to get the best result!), but i hope if THAT is the case they thought the whole thing over, so that by the end you can afford owning everything if you completed every quest possible, picked every tiem possible from everyy nook and cranny (basically completionist style!)...The thought of me as completionist of missing out on particular equipment or set of equipments simply because game doesn't allow me to have enough credits, that would warrant buying everything single thing in the game would break my heart! :(

Just found you, loved the first episode, instant sub. Really glad this isn't a twitch upload with live chat banter, just your voice over commentary actually focused on the game and lore, that will really pay off with the depth of this series. Might want to adjust the in game audio a little bit though, seemed like the combat volume was higher than the dialog.

Is not so hard to read if you job require you to read a lot of text fast. jajajaja. Thats how i managed to read it fast.
I just wanted to say that I love how Turians are animated to show that they are surprised or shocked. (Y'know since they have exoskeletons) Their outer mandibles or whatever they are will widen a little bit and I'd put it akin to a human letting their jaw drop or gasp. It's real noticeable with Nihlus at 42:00 and I think it really adds to the effect of in game horror that he is so shocked by seeing the attackers. Like this well renowned spectre just basically shuddered at a video image and it adds weight to the scene. BUT it's kinda easy to miss and in the beginning of the game when new players aren't familiar with Turians. I definitely didn't notice on my play through and hope people will find this tidbit interesting.

Haha yeah wanted to get some action in the first part so though screw it xD longest series until now is Persona 5 Royal with 263 parts, individually these games will be shorter but as a whole could well be longer who knows xD

I already knew I'd like this playthrough because I've enjoyed your other Blind LPs, but then you dumped your first three stat points into dialog options and then I knew I'd LOVE this playthrough. Talking your way out of bad situations and into advantageous ones is far and away my favorite playstyle in RPGs like this, very excited to start this journey with you :)

You bring a great perspective to these sort of games and always do a good job getting involved in the stories. I hope you do all three games and wish you the best with them! You should change so that your Team mates use all their powers automatically instead of only the defensive ones. It’s a lot less micro management.
I like the micromanagement considering I only play on Insanity 😂

@@1215298 On Insanity, it's vital to micromanage. On normal, and even veteran, they do fine on their own.
I believe that the dialogue option that surprisingly dissapeared around 1:25:00 was because you were responding to Captain Anderson about how you felt about Ashley's performance, and it would be odd for the conversion you were able to go back and choose again. It does look a little weird that some of the options you got to pick from were on the "Investigate" side of the wheel.
Also, the script-writers try to take care when re-showing "follow-up" options if it would not make sense to pick another right away, but you often can still go back into "Investigate" to start that line of questioning again.
In general, anything inside Investigate is safe to (re-)spam for info, anything on the left side normally is meant to explore deeper, while the right side is for moving a conversation along. If someone asks you a question, then you should pay attention to all available options because you may only get one chance to choose.. Occasionally, a question of some importance (ie. something that will only be offered once) will be asked of you, and the game will space the available options as far from each other as possible to avoid miss-clicks.

Checked your P5R LP I started watching but never got back to in order to check that you did indeed react during cutscenes(because like really, if I didn't want that, I wouldn't be watching Blind LPs), and I'm in. I never played Mass Effect so this might be wrong but the option disappearing is probably because there was a choice there, while the other 2 were just information.

Wait do they actually have an effect on paragon stuff? I know a couple of people have referenced my background but I didn't realise it was making any kind of gameplay changing difference
@@LivingSun Spacer/War Hero gives you Paragon points, Colonist/Sole Survivor gives you both Paragon and Renegade, and Earthborn/Ruthless gives you Renegade points

Glad that you're taking the time to go through the Codex. It really helps give context to a lot of the world building. Also, never bad to splurge on charm or intimidate. There's plenty of skill points. Yes, top right options on the dialogue wheel tend to be paragon, and bottom right renegade. Also, it's better to "take all" weapons and armor and sell what you don't need to make money. Omni-gel is rarely necessary. If you want to use sniper a lot, you should use infiltrator class. Otherwise the shotgun is legit great at close range.
Yeah definitely love getting really into the lore of worlds like this, so it's cool the Codex exists :)

1:25:05 the reason the one option disappeared and the other two didn't it because that particular conversation branch was linked to a paragon/renagade decision. the game allows you to replay most conversation elements (perhaps in case you weren't paying attention) but you don't get to redo paragon/renegade responses. you only get one shot at those!
