Description:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remastered compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It is being developed by BioWare with assistance from Abstraction Games and Blind Squirrel Games, and published by Electronic Arts. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.
Development on the Legendary Edition remasters commenced in 2019 under the direction of Mac Walters. Although BioWare initially considered other alternatives, they ultimately decided to approach the project as a remaster as opposed to a remake in order to preserve the original trilogy experience. The compilation was announced on November 7, 2020, and released on May 14, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs. Set in the Milky Way galaxy within an alternate universe during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against an impending threat. Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.

Just wanted to say how much I genuinely appreciate this playthrough so far. It's rare as hell to find someone who actually wants to engage with the world and listen to what's going on
Same here, it makes my butthole clench whenever people just skip over potential dialogue, especially in blind playthroughs.
@Brett_Andromeda Some gamers have a financial interest to just play the game, so not really surprising that many Let’s Players are playing as a business and not necessarily out of interest :P
Thanks man, I really appreciate the support and am so happy people seem to be liking my style of playthrough :D absolutely loving this so far
Totally agree. Best Mass Effect lp so far !
This game, this universe, is entirely to fleshed out and immersive to want to miss it. I’ve never played a space game that game me such a sense of wonder for the unknown, all while making it so very believable.
About Wrex's name: krogans don't have last names, their "first name" is their clan name. He is Wrex of clan Urdnot
Gotcha, will keep it in mind :)
Garrus and Tali are the 2 most popular characters in the trilogy.
The sheer amount of merch they get over everyone else confirms this!!
They seem pretty cool on first impressions :) although if I had to pick a favourite right now... I think it would be Wrex :P his introduction was so good and I adore his voice haha
Absolutely the Krogan are my favorite species. For anyone who's ever loved that brutal warrior sci-fi race like the Klingons. But what's great about it is that there's something in there for everybody.
Quarians and Geth have awesome Battlestar Galactica vibes.
Asari feel a little like half Vulcan and Betazoids in a way.
Turians who doesn't love space Roman Empire.
Salarians are classic stereotypical aliens with big black almond-shaped eyes.
Volus always reminded me of Dwarves or hobbits, maybe it's just the height. Elcor feel like the rock monster from Neverending Story maybe it's just the voice "they looked like such strong hands." And the Hanar are so unique I don't know how to make a comparison to anything I've ever seen.
Tali best girl.
Only bad part about these videos, you have to wait a whole day for the next one. I love Mass Effect and these characters and seeing someone else discovering them is a delight.
Yeah, new ME players really test your patience. All we can do is be supportive on his journey
It means we have potentially months of great content to look forward to ^_^
@@Dan-B Well we have all three games and maybe Andromeda as well so we'll be here a while.
Other people are uploading one video a week. One day is not so bad.
@@FunnyGuy93 Glass half full I suppose
Don't worry about spending too long in the Citadel. That part is a hit or miss to new players since most of the time you'll just be interacting with various npcs getting a lot of lore and not much action. But the way you play is pretty much how I play too. Just taking the time to get immersed in the universe and not rushing to get things done.
Haha luckily I'm all about story and lore, action is cool and all but it's not the main thing that grabs me usually
As a Mass Effect fan, I’m sincerely happy seeing a new player who has NO IDEA what’s going to happen. It’s one of those games I wish I could blindly play again. Sigh. Oh well. I can settle for seeing how things will work out in your playthrough. Best of luck man! 😁👍🏻
Haha yeah if only there was a way to make ourselves forget some of the awesome games we've played and do it again for the first time! Thanks dude :D
Additionally, I never saw Chorban's quest started like that! 15 years in and there's still content I haven't seen.
That's cool haha
Udina’s reaction always makes me laugh 😆
Just turns around and greeted with ‘a Turian, a Krogan and a Quarian walk into a bar’ joke.
Lmao
I've tried to watch other blind Let's Plays of Mass Effect now that the legendary edition is out. So far you're the only one who really takes your time learning about the world and exploring the dialogue options, which is fantastic! It's an RPG, that's what it's for!
Glad you like my style :D
You’ve gotta love stories that give you a whole world full of lore to explore ^_^
Absolutely!
Ive played through this game about 15 times and Ive never seen the keeper scan mission play out like this. I always started it by talking to Chorban in the citadel tower.
That's super cool that there's multiple ways for stuff like that to go!
The pace this is kept at is phenomenal for this game. He’s learning everything and it’s very fun to watch - newly subscribed
Thanks man, appreciate the support :D
Yesss I love my girl Tali sooo much. She looks awesome with the texture upgrades. Hope you're enjoying the game thus far!
I'm about to write an answer to your question in 46:00, don't read further if it was meant to be rhetorical!
----
-----
------
You can't infact skip on recruiting Tali with that option, however if you wanted, you could have skipped on recruiting Garrus. Not that anyone skips on my boi Garrus!
I’m pretty sure Udina forces you to take her (one of the few good decisions he makes).
Really enjoying it dude! Usually all questions are rhetorical but guess I don't mind knowing that, pretty interesting stuff haha. Glad I didn't skip him lol xD
@DCgameGuy85 1 Not if you pick the Renegade option.
You can't skip tali but you can turn down garrus and wrex. They'll both hang around the citadel if you change your mind but you never have to recruit them.
Our girl Tali is home, yesss! I am LIVING for these videos ♥ great pace, love that you're interested in doing all the quests you can and still interested about the lore in the codex.
Yay! The fact that people are enjoying the pace and playstyle makes me very happy haha, glad it's working for you :D
Best girl has arrived
Haha she seems pretty cool :D
Shepard WILL solve any problem that he overhears a total stranger complaining about. Even if he's not part of the conversation or implicated in any way, he'll turn up with the solution a few minutes later.
Haha he's a bit of a nosy dude xD
The best thing about ME1 is the different outcome that you can get from a mission. For example, you meet Jahleed first in you playthrough, but there is an option where you can meet with Chorban first in Citadel Tower and get the scanner mission without any altercation and then meet Jahleed later in C-sec. Mass Effect 1 is awesome because of that.
Yeah super cool :D
Basically, each of the six potential party members represent one of the classes you can choose to start as, although they will have slightly different skills to make them different from you if you were to take the same class. For example Wrex is functionally equivalent to a vanguard, but his weapon specialties are assault rifles and shotguns instead of pistols and shotguns. He also has race related "skills" representing the fact that he's a Krogan so you can improve his natural health regeneration. Otherwise he is a cross of a traditional soldier and a biotic, like you are when picking the vanguard class, providing access to biotic abilities and combat skills.
Makes sense :)
9:16 - I'm totally happy with the pace you're playing at. I personally would never have the patience to go deep dive into the lore and story. But - Your input, insight and comments make it even more interesting for me - So I get to sit back and enjoy it vicariously. 👍
Yay, really happy that's the case man :D I'll try to make the insight worthwhile to listen to xD
damn Wrex didn't even flinch before blowing Fist's head, what a savage
Hahaha ikr xD
I’m watching your first time play through as I’m playing for my first time, love seeing that you’re taking your time I am as well! I love how gameplay mechanics are explained and part of the lore it’s so good
Awesome dude, glad you're enjoying playing too!
I wouldn't worry about spending a lotta time investigating places and talking to everyone. It's such a refreshing thing to see since most people I've seen just get to the main bits. I'll even admit I rarely read the Codex as someone who's played the series twice so it's very interesting to see someone else do it.
Glad it's refreshing! Everyone seems to be saying they're enjoying the pace so that's really good to hear
poor lad didn't even know he could have shagged the consort,if only he was a bit more of a bad boy. xD
Can't believe it :'(
Finnaly, Masked Waifu is here.
Yeeeessss
Haha I love the design
I really love your playthrough! I like that you explore everything & talk to everyone, that's the best way to experience this game. Love your commentary as well!
Also, if you don't mind, it would be so great if the episodes were longer! Like an hour or an hour and a half maybe. I seriously can't wait for when you upload the next episode!
Haha I've been trying to make them a little longer than my usual 35 mins but an hour and a half will never ever be possible as a regular thing lol. I would have to stop releasing parts every day if I did that as I wouldn't have time to record that much every day
@@LivingSun of course, I understand:)
Loving the long episodes, the longer the better! And in support of what everyone else is saying, I really appreciate you taking your time, taking everything in, and really getting to grips with the lore. Best let's play of this Legendary Edition I have found by far!
Thanks man :D appreciate it
If you love this you’ll definitely also enjoy Dragon Age. But that’s a long time from now, I’m sure ME will keep you occupied for a long time haha. The only tip I have for you in these games is that once they open up you’re gonna have the option to do multiple things in the main story or recruit characters. My personal recommendation is to go for the companions first to build more affinity with them :) but as always it’s up to you sun
Haha yeah Dragon Age wouldn't be this year lol
Great playthrough so far dude, keep it up!
Thanks man, will do!
I just found your channel yesterday, love your playthrough so far, in terms of your question on if you are going too slowly or not, absolutely not. Most Mass Effect fans like myself enjoy all the side missions and finding everything there is to uncover, I'm enjoying your in-depth playthrough a lot!
Thanks! Glad you're liking my speed haha xD
Just finished your full playthrough of the legendary edition, by far my favorite play through ever
Wow that's high praise! Thank you very much that makes my day to hear something like that :D
@Living Sun I’m currently rewatching this series and I think you might enjoy Andromeda. I think the reason most people didn’t like it was because they were expecting a sequel to the trilogy, but I think it is a solid game. Apparently at launch it was buggy as hell, but it must have all been fixed by now because I haven’t run into anything major. I went into it knowing that it wasn’t a sequel, and I just enjoyed it for what it was, a spin-off. I love playing through the game and finding little snippets of my friends back in the Milky Way while playing an entirely unique game. I originally wasn’t going to try it because of everything I’d heard about it, but after ME3 I just had to have more of mass effect, and I couldn’t bear to wait 6 years or whatever. I have thoroughly enjoyed every mass effect game and have loved your playthroughs. Throughout my play through of the trilogy, I would play a bit, then watch you play up till where I was. I miss this in andromeda. I hope you will give it a try sometime. Cheers!
Need to use cover more often if you want to use shotguns. Running around guns blazing will kill you quickly in most cases. Higher level shotguns with accuracy mods are awesome further down the line. Also when using biotics, it's best to go to the pause menu, target an enemy, select (throw/warp), then unpause. You'll have a much higher likelihood of hitting them with it.
Haha yeah I've noticed that my shields just absolutely evaporate in this game and take forever to come back lol
This is my all time favorite game series, beaten the series about 20 times. Ive been looking for someone on a blind playthrough and found myself irritated that none of them explored enough or asked enough questions. Then I found you and I've been enjoying your playthrough! Hope you love the game as much as I did!
Nice! Really glad you like my style of playthrough haha, I adored ME1 and just getting started on ME2 now :D
29:28 How they're just immediately ready to quit is probably the most ridiculous interaction in this game imo
I mean, I wouldn't wanna die :P
I love your blind playthrough, its always amazing to see someone enjoy this fresh. With your love of the Sniper the Infiltrator might have been better as its the designated 'sniper' class but I still really look forward to seeing the rest of this play out
Haha well it's not that I love the sniper it's just that it keeps seeming to be the most viable strategy xD I would love to use the shotty more if I could do as well with it lol
Makes me very glad of the changes to the legendary edition. In the original there was what amounted to an accuracy penalty for any weapon you weren't trained in rendering them extremely difficult to use. Now any class can use any weapon
Nice keep up the videos dude great work 💯 one other thing, you can tell your squad mates to use their powers on a specific target but they aim wherever your crosshairs are pointing and when you're in the power wheel menu it freezes time you can use that to analyze the situation when you exit the power wheel they'll use that power instantly on your designated target you issued them hope this helps👍🏽
Cheers dude :)
@22:29; Oh wow - I didn't realize you can start that quest that way - that's...unique, compared to every other time I've played Mass Effect 1.
(For context, if you speak to Chorbin earlier in the Citadel before this, you already know about the scanning of the Keepers part.).
Love that there's multiple ways to do things :D
@@LivingSun It reminds me of a Dragon Age: Origins blind Let's Play I watching recently - where they did one of the Origins questlines very differently to how I would normally do it - and their Origin had a much darker context to it as a result.
I mean, it was still the same end result for them as it was for me, but...the dialogue text was different.
thank you for actually exploring the game unlike other who just skip large parts of it
Glad you like it! :D
There's a lot of companions.
Woo :D
Loving how much time you're taking to learn the ropes. That's how you play an RPG, ESPECIALLY a BioWare RPG. Also...TALI!!! She's so adorable!!
Woo! Yeah Tali is great haha
Yes explore everything! Take your time and enjoy this masterpiece of a trilogy.
Will do!
WOOOO BEST GIRL IS IN THE HOUSE!
Nice :D
Yaaasss!!! Love the space opera genre!
Same :D
I love your reactions to the game. I hope you go through all three. I wish I could wipe my memory and play this series again with all of the DLC installed. I am very jealous that you get to experience the game as a cohesive trilogy.
I will be doing all three :)
those warehouse workers is a nice little tutorial on how renegade and paragon can resolve situations in a diffrent way, very handy
Yeah, very cool
Nice job with Fist, two deaths is very good for what I think is a really hard room, with so many enemies in such a tiny space. I don't know if you noticed later but I think the second death, in Fist's room, was actually caused by two turrets that spawn at the far end to both sides of him, turrets in this game have no chill and will tear through both your shield and health in a heartbeat if given the chance. Oh, and be careful about getting too attached to the sniper as it will eventually become less and less reliable without upgrades.
Thanks haha, still sad I died right in front of him lol xD yeah definitely gonna be on the lookout for turrets lol
Udina forces you to recruit Tali if you say no. In the case of wrex and garrus they'll hang around the citadel and you can recruit them later
Ah right haha
It makes sense. Her tech skills are great for the majority of enemies in the first game.
Because you brought wrex in your squad fist dies, he was serious about killing him lol.
Oh so the dude lives if Wrex isn't there? Interesting
@@LivingSun The option is there yeah. Companions have unique insights which makes multiple playthroughs (yes, its a massive game though lol) worthwhile to see companions reactions to stuff. For example if you do a mission that involves the geth, naturally Tali might have some interesting perspectives other team members will not.
8:15 You got those two side quests when reading the reports in computers that you had to decrypt, remember? In case you want to refresh your memory on the reports: one is on Part 2 at minute 17:05. The other is on Part 3, right at the beginning.
Ahhh right haha, so much to keep track of haha
Rough autosave there... at least you got the same loot, sometimes it changes the loot in containers
Yeah big oof haha
Tali best girl
I'm sure I will :D I already like her a lot!
You and wrex are going to be butting heads a lot. Lol
Hmm maybe lol
One big difference with this Legendary Edition I've definitely noticed is the accuracy with the sniper if you're not trained. You're using it proficiently, whereas in the original game the accuracy was so bad you wouldn't have been able to hit anything 2 feet away. The changes they've made to the combat system is a huge upgrade.
Yeah glad they made that change for sure :D
Your gonna love tali and her shotgun
And maybe by the end of 2 she'l love his "shotgun" ey?
I was pretty surprised she was a shotgun class ngl haha xD
Wrex is his name, urdnot is his tribe affiliation
Correct :)
This is a delight to watch you play, Sun.
Do you have any plans to also play ME Andromeda? It wasn't as well-received as the trilogy but imo it was still a good game.
Thanks dude! No plans atm, it's the trilogy that people are wanting to see especially with the remaster I think, I'm not sure that many would be super interested in sticking around for that one yanno
@@LivingSun I wonder too. I know I'd watch. :P
25:04 The keepers kinda remind me of the dabus in Planescape: Torment. The dabus don't speak (except for sigils they project) and are always repairing and changing buildings and stuff. Later in the game you discover they play an interesting role in the world. I wonder if it will be the same for the keepers.
Interesting haha, haven't played that one. You blind on these games too then? Hope you enjoy them :D
@@LivingSun Pretty much. Years ago, I played a tiny bit of the original Mass Effect. I might have to get the legendary edition and play them all!
Tali is my favorite char
Yay!
So I dont know if this has been mentioned, but sometimes you get a little confused about why the top right doesnt seem like paragon options and bottom right doesnt seem like renegade. When Garrus shot that thug in the head right next to the doctors head in the med clinic, that could be seen as extremely risky which is why nice shot is renegade and saying something about that was risky is paragon. Same thing here. Chorban said he stole research to develop this scanner and also disturbing keepers is illegal. So Paragon(top right) is basically lawful good.
Makes sense :) thanks!
Hope you are enjoying the game so far . I know this is a bit early but what do you think of the game and it’s characters.
Yeah loving it so far man! Really positive experience :D
Fun fact, if you choose the renegade option, its actually possible to ask Shaira for a different "reward", if you know what I mean.
Oh wow haha xD time to restart the playthrough I guess :P
Best Girl Tali has join the team
Time to meet best girl in Mass Effect!
Haha we shall have to wait and see if I agree
Tali = Best Girl
Nice :) we shall have to wait and see if I agree lol
Wrex is the best character in this entire series, besides grunt. Maybe I just like Krogans a lot, lol.
I'm really enjoining you play though. If you like I have some tips on gameplay... and if you want to ignore this that's super fine you're doing very well but some of the things aren't very intuitive for a new player.
Barrier in game is pretty darn good but I used to use it to quickly recharge my shields in an emergency situation. Carnage for shotguns is an amazingly strong ability and flies out of your shotgun like a rocket launcher it makes the shotgun very useful at medium ranges. I know you said you're not big on micromanaging but in the ability select wheel you can aim at an enemy while in the menu and tell a companion to use an offensive ability. This isn't just restricted to one character at a time, you can select an ability of your own and form the other two companions. All three will go off at the same time once you leave the ability select wheel menu. It's not necessary to do all the time, but this is very useful for certain enemies.
For example at the start of a fight you can do something like use Garris to sabotage to shut off their weapon and then tali'zorah to overload to damage their Shields then use Shepherd to push to knock them down.
Also keep in mind certain abilities like Push or AI hacking for example don't work at their full functionality if it enemy Shields are still up.
I hope this was at least somewhat helpful.
Thanks dude :D sounds good
Wow I’ve never actually gotten into the fight with chorban. I’ve always met him first in the council chambers and he asks me to scan the keepers straight up. Then when you meet jahleed he asks me to basically kill chorban for wanting to kill him. Then when you go to chorban he’s super peaceful and there’s no fight. RIP those salarian guys haha.
Haha cool that there's a bunch of ways to do it :)
left a like bc u asked so nicely :)
Thank you :D
fun fact if you don't take wrex with you when fighting fist he'll live and he'll pop up in future instalments
Very cool haha
Personally, if you're having fun then by all means, read and listen to everything! I wouldn't expect any LP to go through it all but I'm down for whatever amount you're comfortable with on screen.
Haha definitely trying to learn as much as possible!
@@LivingSun And the fact that you're actually interested in the game and WANT to know about the lore and background is one of the reasons I like your content :P
I really enjoy how you play, because frankly combat is always the boring part of let's plays for me. Especially considering how often people annoy me in combat specifically by doing things Incorrectly 😂 ...tbh I don't particularly enjoy *doing* the combat parts either, especially in the first game. I'm terrible at aiming, so shooters aren't really for me, I'm just here for the plot.
I'm just slow in general, and aren't very good at beating games. I still haven't beaten P5R, so I can't watch your awesome series on it cuz spoilers. I'm a bit further than you, on Feros, and I honestly forgot how much side quests annoyed me when I feel I don't have time to beat them. I honestly might try playing the game again, but Renegade. I mean, it was hilarious, getting to punch the mad scientist in the face in the prologue, so... yeah. I beat ME2, and played halfway thru ME3, so ME1 is the only one I'm having a fresh experience with.
Slow is good! :)
if by the end of your playthrough of me1 ill link you its use its for something that is very easily missed
I'm having trouble understanding this comment ngl aha

@Louis At least it's reasonable since her people did got overthrown by the Geth. Ashley on the other hand.. is just a racist for no reason.
