Description:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remastered compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It is being developed by BioWare with assistance from Abstraction Games and Blind Squirrel Games, and published by Electronic Arts. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.
Development on the Legendary Edition remasters commenced in 2019 under the direction of Mac Walters. Although BioWare initially considered other alternatives, they ultimately decided to approach the project as a remaster as opposed to a remake in order to preserve the original trilogy experience. The compilation was announced on November 7, 2020, and released on May 14, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs. Set in the Milky Way galaxy within an alternate universe during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against an impending threat. Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.

LOVE that you take the time talking to everyone, checking out the codex, and just generally trying to learn as much as possible.
Cheers dude, loving what I'm learning :D
It's so refreshing to find a reactor that goes through all the possible dialogue branches and reads the additional info on the codex, i love it! I'm eager to see what choices you make while playing and hope you enjoy the game :)
there are so many who just rush trough and miss so many things :)
@@Stefan8632 i know! In these games having enough information helps A LOT on the overall experience, I wish more people took the time to just read a bit more to understand better what's going on, but I guess everyone experiences it differently hahaha
Yay, glad you like my style :D loving it so far :)
I dont know about others, but I personally love that you look at the codex after a session, although i know All this already, it is Nice seeing you learn and react to these
Haha there's a lot to learn! Trying to take it all in :)
Sha’ira must give some really good hugs
Yeah... hugs...
If there's one thing I noticed is that ME1 has gotten TONS of little fixes. (Will probably be pointing them out.) Like, wow, the Council members are referred to by names now, instead of "Asari Councillor" or whatever? Cool, that's a great lore-friendly fix.
Oh shit, I WAS wondering "Did they show their names before?"
That's cool :)
I recommend taking the elevators as opposed to using the fast travel in the Citadel. The elevator is the only place where you will get party banter (conversations between your companions) as well as getting certain side quests (from listening to the broadcast that plays on elevators). Also, make sure to talk to every Avina, each one has different information and lore. Other than that, you're doing an awesome job exploring everything.
Yeah don't worry I take lifts at some point :) didn't check the other Avina points but will do when I go back to the Citadel
@@LivingSun I don't know how far you are, but if you already left the Citadel, it will be a while before the game takes you back, haha.
@@lilly25642 Unless he's *really" far ahead in recording, he can absolutely come back later.
Sometimes, the Citadel can feel like Dragon Age: Inquisition's Hinterlands, and understandably so. There's a *lot* that can be done there.
@@ZT1ST He can go back at any time, but the game doesn't really give you a reason to do it, besides some side quests, I think? It's been a while since I played this game so I don't really remember.
@@lilly25642 I'm afraid I won't be able to clarify, outside of there is some fun speaking to Udina between Outside Citadel missions.
Love that you go through the codex, especially as a first time player.
Glad you enjoy it :D
I recommend speaking with the other Avinas in the Presidium, each terminal provides different information about some interasting topics and will provide more Codexs.
Already left the Citadel where I'm up to in recordings but I'll check them out when I'm back there :)
You know someone is playing it blind, when he didn`t even know Garrus :D
Love your focus on the game and its world ;)
Thanks dude :D
Finally someone who takes his time to really try and understand the game. Plus you seem like a pretty chill dude. Glad I found your playthrough :D
Haha I try to be! Cheers man :)
My daily dose of serotonin, let's go
had to google what that stuff does again. but true :)
Haha glad it gives that effect xD
I recall you will get a massive lore dump about the Krogan species when you examine their statue in the Citadel. You must have missed it because its somewhere in that area near the fountains.
I think it's when you speak with Avina about the Krogan monument.
Ah right, I learned a lot about them in Codex stuff but I'll try and remember to check out the statue when I'm back in the Citadel next
Likewise, you learn a lot about the keepers by talking to Avina near the Citadel Tower.
Each Avina terminal on the presidium has its own unique information to dish out. The one near the emporium is especially informative. Also, using elevators instead of fast travelling gives you unique dialogue either between your squadmates or from listening to the radio while travelling. There's 2 (I think) quests you can obtain by listening to the radio during an elevator ride. Maybe not your thing, but I thought to mention it if you hadn't realized already, which you probably have. Out of curiosity, how many episodes do you generally record at a time?
It is important to mention, that all the quests received by overhearing news boradcast in the elevator have alternative triggers somewhere! So even if one missed an oportunity to trigger the quest via elevator ride, there is always an altarnative way somewhere...
Ah interesting, I've already left the station in my recordings but I'll keep an eye out when I'm back. Usually I'm like 4 or 5 ahead of the uploads
The Council, charming people really.
We have dismissed that claim.
@@GlennWH26 ah yes the "Council", the ruling body of citadel space who question your ever choice... We have dismissed that claim
Super charming
well, in this instance, can you blame them. You have an eye witness testimony from a lazy/sleeping dock worker as your only evidence, against testimony from the top operative of the council. Even so, they took time to perform an investigation of your claim. I feel that is much more than most would get, and their refusal is entirely justified.
First playthough of yours i'm watching. I love how you seem to care about the game and story and deep dive into all the information.
Glad you like it that way dude :D
I found your channel looking for new blind Legendary playthroughs, liked what I saw and went to subscribe - and discovered I already was. Apparently, I subscribed to your channel 3 years ago, during your 'Walking Dead' playthrough. And after I finished that, UA-cam stopped alerting me to your updates for THREE. FRICKING. YEARS. I deeply apologize for having forgotten your channel (I have a lot of subscriptions), and I am honestly kind of pissed that UA-cam let you fall through the cracks like this.
Haha no worries man, UA-cam be like that sometimes lol. Glad you found me again :D
I really appreciate you going through this game so thoroughly, I am vicariously re-experiencing Mass Effect through your gameplay as if it is new. Thank you for the content!
You're very welcome, thanks for watching :D
Excellent! I'm hooked. 👍
33:07 - Man, David Keith is so good. His line deliveries are spot on. Some especially good ones in this section.
Yay! Yeah he's awesome haha
Just a heads up, the different Avina terminals have different information. For example, the terninals outside the Council Chamber's elevator and by the statue near the Emporium...
Yeah I'll take a look next time I go back to the Citadel
Garrus MY BELOVED! Ahem....loving this so far, I love that you're taking the time to explore and discover things. That's how to play Mass Effect!
Haha he's awesome xD glad you're enjoying!
@23:53; Mass Effect 1 in a nutshell.
xD
Love your reaction, keep going im gonna watch all the series
Thanks dude! :D
Very enjoyable let's play so far. As someone said, each Avina terminal in the Presidium will have soomething different to say. Each will introduce you to new things of the lore.
Thanks :D yeah I'll look when I next go back to the Citadel
If you're interested in Anderson and Saren's history there is a novel written by Drew Karpyshyn (the leader writer on ME1 and 2) called Mass Effect: Revlation. It's 100% canon and some of the events that occur during it will be referenced in the series so I recommend checking it out if you get into the world and can find the time. There's also a second novel called Mass Effect Ascension which takes place after ME1 but before ME2 which will be heavily referenced by certain characters in ME2. Theyre really well written and I strongly recommend checking them out at some point.
Interesting, I definitely won't have time to read them unfortunately but cool that they exist
Loving the playthrough so far. It only gets better and better.
Thank you! :D
Glad that you are taking your time, immersing yourself
Glad you're glad! :D
39:32 - Over half way there?
Well past, man... Well past.
LoL
Oof xD
You're really scouring everything to learn all the information you can.
That's awesome.
I got introduced to you through Halo, and now, I'm looking forward to taking this journey alongside you.
Halo was awesome haha, I've been spoiled by great sci-fi stuff recently!
Great Seeing One Of My Favourite UA-camr Grow Up
Lol cheers xD
Looks like your having a great time. The trilogy only keeps getting better as it go’s.
I really am haha, awesome stuff so far, can't wait to see where things go!
sooo annoying to see the council turning a blind eye to Saren, feels bad XD
You hate to see it lol, the council is a constant cycle of not believing us, we prove it, then they don't believe us the next time etc
39:37 I would already be dead most likely. Sadge.
Rippppp
It's been brought up in other comments, but just another reminder to hit up the other Avina stations around the Presidium. There are 2 left, I believe, one next to the Krogan Statue and one next to the statue of a Mass Relay.
Yeah will do next time I go back to the Citadel :)
You need to meet Conrad Verner, you'll love him
hell, he needs to meet him several times in this one game alone lol
I do :P
Just a few helpful suggestions. Try taking the elevators interested of rapid transit, you get unique dialogue with your companions. Also you should talk with the other Avinas, they have different dialogue talking about unique locations near you. Talking with them also unlocks more codex pages.
Will do :) and yeah I'll look at the other Avinas when I go back to the Citadel
Every blind playthrough of Mass Effect always starts the same. "What the fuck is this?", "What the fuck is that??" and "Who the fuck are you???"
How're you finding the codex stuff so far? It's a lot at the start I know, but it levels out pretty quick.
It's a lot but yeah it's cool stuff for the most part :)
You were very excited to meet the consort were you 😉
Of course :P
Lifespan of 40... I turn 38 this year!!! thank God I am not a Salarian!
Very fortunate haha xD
That's humanity's Ass
edit: 24:49
xD
f.y.i. vanguard = hand guns and shotgun proficiencies
Yes I know :)
If you enjoy this game, it might be worth playing Knights of the Old Republic. The gameplay is clunky and the pacing is a bit awkward, but the story is really good.
Is it on console?
@@LivingSun it is on the Xbox series X backwards compatibility list.
@24:49 Take the M out of Mass, because that's really what this game series is about, especially when you meet Miranda.
I don’t know man I’m still on the fence on wether this is nice or not
If you are a fan of sci-fi and space opera stories, Mass Effect is for you. The whole universe is thought out and written with every species/planet/technology n detail on how they work. Also, the dynamics and interaction/relationship between the Normandy Squad is very fleshed out, as their relationships span out and evolve over the course of three games. If you are not a fan of that then Mass Effect is not for you
I KNOW YOU
@@zetsupetsu6051 it’s an inside joke, not surprised you don’t understand
@@Lena-di2ln I think I know you, elaborate please lol
