    Description:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remastered compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It is being developed by BioWare with assistance from Abstraction Games and Blind Squirrel Games, and published by Electronic Arts. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.
Development on the Legendary Edition remasters commenced in 2019 under the direction of Mac Walters. Although BioWare initially considered other alternatives, they ultimately decided to approach the project as a remaster as opposed to a remake in order to preserve the original trilogy experience. The compilation was announced on November 7, 2020, and released on May 14, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs. Set in the Milky Way galaxy within an alternate universe during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against an impending threat. Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.

There are game achievements for taking each companion to 5 missions. These achievements grant actual in game combat bonuses so its worth mixing up companions enough to qualify for all of them. Also many companions have unique dialogue for missions that relate to them in some way, for example a mission about human biotics is likely to have special dialogue for Kaiden, etc

Why is the gravity lower in the Presidium? Simple physics. The Presidium is closer to center of spin than the wards, so it travels a shorter distance to rotate at the same rate. In other words, the Presidium isn't spinning as fast. Lower rotational velocity means less centrifugal force, which means lower apparent gravity.

    • @danielsanderson1810

It's a good idea to select every planet, as sometimes you'll obtain resources, xp, or minor quest items. Occasionally there will be interesting lore pertaining to some past event like the Krogan Rebellions and such. I usually like to do the Bring Down the Sky DLC (which is what the asteroid mission is) later on in the game, but you do you :) You can zoom in with the Mako and use the cannon, high damage. Also, you should really consider using your squad's powers manually once in a while, it creates a lot of strategic opportunities that you might otherwise miss out on. Warp, overload, Damping, etc. All very useful in combat.

One tip for driving the Mako: When you're climbing a steep hill/mountain, try to drive up sideways and/or in curves/slalom. That'll help you not to get stuck and slowly rolling down backwards again. It still can be a pain but it's definitely easier that way.

You can shoot pretty far with the Mako guns. If you don’t zoom in or aren’t close enough it just won’t display the health bar.
When you got closer it showed the shields were down and that it had taken damage.
Not sure if you know yet but it has a cannon too. It also has thrusters you can use to jump. You can also fire while zoomed in.

@30:07; NASA actually had a mission that was cancelled in 2017 to basically do this - the Asteroid Redirect Mission's main difference is it involves a robotic spacecraft capturing a bolder from an asteroid, not the *entire* asteroid, and then presumably launch it BT-style to redirect it to orbit the moon.
Smaller scale, perhaps, but...not as futuristic as you might think. :p

It's pretty cool that you can land on planets but it gets old after a while once you see the recycled side quest assets. Sniper> Good against Armored (but imo, the amount of damage just makes it good against anything that isn't moving too much haha)
Assault and Pistol > Shield ripper

Poor Sun, just wanted some sidequesting and inadvertently launched into a whole DLC. Shepard's first Spectre adventure's going to be a doozy ;) hope you enjoy
Quick question, whilst doing this DLC now is completely harmless unless you were specifically hoping to play the main game's content for a bit first, without naming names there are a couple of later DLCs for the sequels that can be a little jarring or even lose out on content if not done within a certain broad window - this series' DLC is absolutely awesome, but its implementation isn't the most graceful. Would you be open to some completely non-spoiler advice from commenters about when a DLC might be most appropriate?

@@LivingSun That doesn't really happen though haha The Mass Effect trilogy as a whole is really weird in that sense because it lets you do missions when you want even if it doesn't make much sense story wise to do them at certain points. Some suggestions on mission order can make you enjoy and understand the story better. I know that back seat gaming can be annoying, but ME are not your ordinary games that holds the player's hand and tells them what mission they SHOULD do next. I agree with the DLC bits, but also for ME's main missions, I already saw some people recommend to get Liara first, and I don't know if that's the first main mission you chose, but if it's not, I can see you regretting it later for several reasons. ;) So yeah, while I understand that you don't want people to tell you "how to play the game", they are doing it so you can have a better experience, because trust me, it does make a big difference, especially with the DLC. Just a thought. :)

By the way, the Mako can deal with longer-range targets than your think. There's a zoom-in feature, it doesn't show the healthbar. If you're planning to take on targets with the Mako, my personal suggestion is to finish the last bit of HP on foot as that actually lands you more xp than if you killed with the Mako. I don't remember well) and for that reason it didn't come out in this version of the game. The DLC was to help improve marksmanship, better understand the powers of the game, and if you managed to complete the special mission at the end of the content, the player was given an apartment with the ability to purchase various unique and high-level items (armor, weapons and more) sorry for the length of the text and my english i am using google translator greetings and enjoy this great game.

oh.. stumbled into the DLC as first mission. Something I never liked about Mass Effect is that bioware didnt make clear what might start a DLC-Mission and what is just a basegame mission. Especially in ME3 that is the case. Some DLC's of ME3 should be played near endgame only because they container spoilers for the late-game story. So if you play them accidently as soon as they pop up, it might spoil you. Others are for midgame and one is best very early after starting the game. And you have no way to know. So probably the community will give you advice when to start which DLC or what starts it. I hope this advices will be spoiler free but valueable.

    • @LivingSun

    • @soundofnellody262
      @soundofnellody262 3 роки тому +3

@@LivingSun Well, Bioware dont see it like that obviously. There is no game breaking result if you start a DLC accidently on a bad timing. But for a first (blind) playthrough you might lose neat content or receive knowledge that would have more impact later in the game. Thats why people always warn blind-players when it is really important. That you stumbled across this DLC is no biggy tho. Don't you worry :) Hope you enjoy the ride.

You should choose your Squamates based upon their skill sets and your personal needs for whatever mission your doing.
Combat - All about guns and melee strikes. If you're expecting a shootout, you should take someone who is combat proficient. Take note of their weapon sets. Ashley has the highest combat and firearms proficiency in the game, and can be used in both long range and close range battle. Garrus is suited for Assault rifles and Sniper rifles, and should only be used for mid to long range combat, as he will die pretty quickly if you try to move him up. Wrex is alternatively suited for close range combat, as he has the shotgun skill and several buffs that allow him to take extra damage. In terms of Combat, Ashley is worth both Garrus and Wrex combined, but she lacks any tech and biotic abilities and should be paired with a biotic user like Kaiden or Wrex to support her as she will quickly become overrun.
Tech - These abilities allow you to interact with electronic equipment of all kinds, whether it's enemy shields and weaponry, or computer terminals and doors that you are likely to encounter as you explore. Tali has the highest number of tech abilities of any squadmate and she she is both effective against enemy targets and in decrypting items you may come across. You should consider taking her along with you as you explore the wider Milky Way, as her Electronics skill will give her a better chance of bypassing computers as well as repair the Mako. She also has the decryption skill which allows you to hack into computers through the mini game rather than bypassing. Having these two skills available at the start of the game also means that she can shut down enemy weapons and biotics. Both Kaidan and Garrus can learn these same skills, but it doesn't come as fast, as they also need to level up their respective Biotics and Combat skills. Tali has the shotgun skill like Wrex, but it's only for when an enemy gets to close to her. She has no shield buffs so you should keep her in the rear during a fight and pair her with a tank like Ashley, or Wrex to keep the heat off of her.
Biotics - This is the crowd control skill set. These skills provide you with buffs, debuffs, and a set of direct and indirect means of attacking your enemy. You already know Kaidan's Barrier, which adds another layer on top of his shields and allows him to take an extra bit of abuse, there's also the throw ability which pushes enemies away from you and keeps them at a distance. As you progress and level up you'll see a myriad of different abilities that will allow you to chip away at your enemy's effectiveness in combat, such as Lift and Stasis which forces an enemy into a helpless state, Singularity which can limit your enemy's maneuverability, and Warp which damages an enemy over time. Both Wrex and Kaidan have their own set Biotic abilities which suit their roles in the Combat and Tech categories. You should consider taking them whenever you're dealing with a large number of enemies in a single location, such as what you'll experience when you go inside of fortified buildings. Biotics are VERY effective as a means of crowd control, but the downside is that this goes both ways. When you know you are going to face off against an enemy that uses Biotics, you should take along Tali, Kaidan, and Garrus, as their Damping ability will allow them to shut down Biotics. Taking Ashley and Garrus can also be effective if you wish to attack Biotics users at long range with the sniper rifle, as Biotics Abilities tend to be short to mid range.

Totally disagree. You can beat any combat encounter without too much pain regardless of who you bring, even on insanity (and he's not on insanity). It's way more interesting to bring squadmates on specific missions for story reasons, regardless of their combat abilities. And that advice only becomes more and more important as the series continues.

@@LMarti13 I was mainly talking about your general side quests as you go about the Milky Way rather than the story progressing missions. The story missions are far too lengthy and expansive to really comfortably settle on two for the whole run, unless you want to use the strategy of doubling back to the Normandy and switching out team mates. But yes, you're correct that you can brute force your way through most of the game without taking any strategic or tactical preparations. But in my personal experience, I've found that balancing out each of your teammates capabilities in Mass Effect 1 makes the gameplay far more simpler and exciting.

As for the Galaxy Map, not all quests get a marker, only Main Missions do (this asteroid is an exception as it was originally DLC), so basically one has to check every planet to see if it's possible to land on it or not, you don't have to read every single description, of course, just check the options at the bottom of the screen to see if landing is available.
