Description:
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a remastered compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. It is being developed by BioWare with assistance from Abstraction Games and Blind Squirrel Games, and published by Electronic Arts. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.
Development on the Legendary Edition remasters commenced in 2019 under the direction of Mac Walters. Although BioWare initially considered other alternatives, they ultimately decided to approach the project as a remaster as opposed to a remake in order to preserve the original trilogy experience. The compilation was announced on November 7, 2020, and released on May 14, 2021 for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The compilation also includes almost all single-player downloadable content (DLC) that was originally released for each game, such as promotional weapons, armors, and packs. Set in the Milky Way galaxy within an alternate universe during the 22nd century, the trilogy consists of action role-playing games in which the player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must unite the galactic community against an impending threat. Shepard is a customizable character whose morality is determined by the player, and during each game, the player makes choices that can impact the story in various ways. These choices and consequences can be carried forward through the trilogy.

"Already learning my way around" . . . and promptly walks into the wrong C-Sec office 😀
Hey I didn't know there were two smh :P
"Did they time the Elevator ride to match the dialogue?"
No. In the original, they were hiding loading screens, and VERY long. The ride was much longer than the elevator. Now, the audio runs longer than the elevator, so they added a skip button. They don't cut out the audio unless requested, so it "matched up".
Makes sense :)
paragon and renegade arent the same as good and bad. it's more like calm and strategic vs rutheless and blunt. complimenting garrus' shot was the renegade option because it was reckless and he could have easily missed and hit the doctor, but he DID hit his target so a renegade shepard doesnt care about the potential risk the action had.
also, YES, both best boys in one episode!
That, and the guy had a gun to Michel's head. Shooting him (even in the head) could trigger a reflexive reaction and cause the guy to pull his own trigger and kill her.
Yeah, pretty much this. "Nice shot" is a compliment, but it could have ended badly for Dr. Michel if Garrus missed. "risky move" would have pointed that out to Garrus. So it's consistent with the Ruthlessness of Renegade vs Paragon.
Even Garrus' response, "sometimes you get lucky", implies even HE knew it was a stupid thing to do.
Mm fair point, so often the renegade option just sounds straight up mean though lol
@@LivingSun sometimes being blunt and rutheless means being mean lol
don't worry about what is nice/bad just pick what feels nateral
Well what feels natural is very rarely the renegade option to randomly be nasty to people lol
I'm loving how you're engaged enough in the story that you're already forming opinions about a lot of the characters. Also, the alien characters do indeed have great voicing!
Haha it's a really cool universe, it's making me really want to engage with it on a deeper level :D love it
If you see a colored option in a dialogue wheel it means you've gotten enough paragon/renegade points to unlock a special dialogue option. Red = renegade, blue = paragon. Usually either of these options has a better result (sometimes much, much better) than doing the more neutral choice, which is why it's generally better to go all in on either paragon or renegade (if you flip between the two or pick a lot of neutral choices you may not have enough P/R points to unlock those options)
Thankfully, they did change this in ME3 and made it a lot more feasible to play a mix of paragon and renegade. But yeah, in ME1 and 2, it does kind of behoove you to pick a path and go with it for the most part because you could miss out on some stuff or get really bad results from quests if you can't resolve them diplomatically.
@@billsutherby On the other hand, a non-min-maxed run of the game is likely to lead to a lot of interesting results we don't normally see from Mass Effect players, so...
Yeah I'm definitely going strongly in favour of Paragon lol
@@ZT1ST Fair, but if an individual player is only doing/recording a single run then min/maxing has a better overall experience and usually more satisfying moments.
@@arcadeinvader8086 Sure, but unless you know what the "Unsatisfying" moments are, hitting them your first time is an interesting situation.
Running into "Oh, that means this isn't going the way I planned to resolve this - which suboptimal solution am I going to go with?" is half the fun of having the speech checks in the first place.
In the original release, the elevators were bloody slow. So much so that they kinda became a meme. The elevators are fortunately faster in this release, but that skip button is still blasphemous.
Haha I'll never skip the banter don't worry
Ashley can wear heavy armor, you just need to upgrade her armor in the squad powers menu.
Nice
Wrex immediately seems like an awesome character.
He does! Love it xD
Dude I am so glad that you are playing this game! The story is amazing and each member of your team are unique in their own way. Can't wait for more episodes!
Yay, not long to wait! Same time every day for the next like 6 months or however long it takes lol
There's a phrase that gets thrown around for human companions in Mass Effect. "Starter Humans"
Lmao
and those people are silly and wrong, Ashley is an awesome character and certainly worthy of a squad spot from a gameplay standpoint as she is the best npc class in the game. I get that aliens are cool and that on a first playthrough most people want the shiny new toys, but being human doesn't make the characters bland automatically :(
@@NapoleonSoares Mechanically she's fine, that's not why people don't like her. She's just like Kaiden, bland but instead of being chill & bland like Kaiden she's a jerk & bland.
@@AngryCosmonaut Im not even talking mechanically. Im talking as a fully fledged, constantly evolving, tons of growth over the 3 games character. I won't write reasons as to why i believe that to be true so as to not spoil it for anyone in the comments, but Ash is significantly more complex than the internet gives her credit for.
@@NapoleonSoares totally agree
"Fuck the human species" cracks me up😂😂
Had to be said xD
yaaay you met Wrex, he is to this day stil my favorit in the entire trilogy
Nice :D he seems great haha
When you go to the Citadel Tower again, make sure to explore it one more time before you leave and talk to everyone there because a lot of side quests will unlock after the main mission progresses. You missed one at 1:01.
Don't worry I didn't miss it
Don't forget to level up your new crew members.
Will do :)
There is no Shepard without Vakarian
Nice :D
28:23 those kind of banter evolve throughout the game. When you'll come back later in the Citadel you will have another part of the conversation. Quite a funny story when you hear it in it's entirety😁
Oh really haha that's pretty cool
WREX!! Oh and Urdnot is his CLAN name, Wrex is indeed his first name. I love watching someone else experience this all brand new, it's an AMAZING experience!!
Haha yeah figured that out xD glad to hear! :D
Bro, you are talking about LONGER stamina bar? Listen to this - In the original, you was unable to sprint outside of combat. Yep.
That is maddddd haha xD
This video gained an extra view, I came back a second time to rewatch your reaction to Wrex's gravelly manner. Very refreshing to see new reactions to all these wonderful characters :)
Haha it's such a great voice xD glad you're enjoying!
Garrus and Wrex are just so cool, very good introductions to both characters as well, the designs are indeed really well made too, every species is unique and at the same time memorable, love to see it
Yeah the alien designs are so great haha, can't be easy coming up with so many unique species and stuff, love them both :D
Seeing you take in the story so far, I can't wait to see your experience of ME3. So many amazing and emotional character moments to come.
Haha well you may have to wait a while lol, ME3 is gonna be a few months away I would think :P but I look forward to experiencing it!
I just caught up with your play through. I want more 😁
More coming same time every day :D
You just got the best characters in the game series IMO. Really enjoying your playthrough!
Glad you're enjoying! :D
"Sorry Kaiden, but screw the humans" ... Heh, you're already becoming a pro
Lmao xD
Wrex and Garrus! Nice, love them
Absolute lads
Hell yeah Wrex!!!
Woo!
Wrex has that "mmmm daddy voice"
Frickin wetter than a sweater
Hahahaha xD
Ngl, your subscribers have been increasing a lot lately.
Yeah Hollow Knight gave it a boost, Titanfall 2 gave it another, and then the last few days since ME began it's jumped up by like 400 lol
"No one's favourite character will get left out."
No one likes Ashley
No one likes Kaidan
You say that but I've already had a ton of comments asking me not to drop them in favour of the aliens
34:30 Yeah. 👏 That's. 👏The. 👏 Guy. 👏 Wrex, Tali and him were basically all the time in my party. Sorry, humans.😅 You're cool. But I really like these. 🚗 Their actors/writers did a really great job. Looking forward to seeing you reacting to more of them.
Haha xD
I found your channel when you uploaded the first episode of this series, and I've already watched like 3 or 4 of your other series. Love the content! I can't believe how few views some of your videos have! This series is so nostalgic, too. I can tell this is going to be great.
Woah haha, that's a lot in just a few days! Appreciate the support :D
By the way, in terms of Mass Effect Paragon and Renegade aren't exactly good vs bad. It's more like by the books/an go-out-of-their-way attitude vs an rebellious attitude/ slight-loose cannon. Regardless of how Shepard acts, they still willingy fight for a good cause to help the galaxy. As for dialogue top right choice is always paragon, bottom right always renegade. (If a choice is colored blue/red then that means you've met enough paragon/renegade points to choose that special line of dialogue which can lead to different outcomes. If it's greyed out that means you don't have enough of the respective points. You'll see em pop up from time to time.)
Also if you didn't notice, you got an journal notification after talking to Conrad Verner. On that note, it's personally reccomended by some to stop by the Citadel right after big story moments cause new stuff pops up.
That being said, there are a handful of renegade choices you can make that are pretty bad and even I would say, pretty evil too. But nothing really diabolical or super-villain like.
I noticed the notification but it wasn't anything important lol, will head back after big stuff then :)
I wouldnt agree to that. Its pretty much good vs bad. There are some renegade options that are really bad. And then there is also the appearence change.
Really enjoy seeing someone go into one of my favorite games completely blind, it's like seeing it through fresh eyes myself again.
Do you plan to go on to the 2nd and 3rd games as well after you complete this? The choices and save file can go between games so you can actually see long term effects of what you do in game.
Glad to hear dude! Yes absolutely, this will be a full trilogy playthrough :)
Just another reminder to hit up the Avina Consoles around the Presidium. At one point, your cursor actually highlighted one of them and you ran right past it. Maybe you think they all say the same thing, but each one has different lore that you'll find to be interesting (and give you some XP via Codex Entries).
I've already left the Citadel so will do it when I'm next back there
The dialogue options that don't disappear means they will be expanded after you do something or speak to someone else or disappear if you choose a certain path I believe. As with barla von after you spoke to the captain / saren's council hearing.
Hmm interesting
Nice to see you getting used to the combat mechanics, and yeah inventory management is kind of a big deal in this game, so if you're not much into micromanagement, I wish you the best of luck. One thing you might want to keep an eye on is to check back with NPCs that have dismissed you before, sometimes conversations won't begin if you're in the middle of the main story sequence or you haven't completed a certain quest, but that doesn't mean the character doesn't have information to give you, so it's good to just double check to make sure, especially NPCs with actual proper names, that's kind of a give away that they are somewhat relevant.
Haha yeah not a big fan of inventory management but I'll live xD okie doke
14:38
Blue phrases come from your Paragon skill..charm..is it? Chose them if you wanna be a good boy))
and "Get a grip" is grey because you dont have the skill for Renegade) it's for bad boys))
Also, dont skip dialoges in a lift)) Different members of your party will have interesting conversations)) So try to mix them from time to time)
Yeah I wanna be a good boy
Harkin is way more obnoxious if you play a female Shepard, because then he tries to hit on her. Definitely one of the few times I always pick the renegade choices.
Oof haha
Just wanted to let you know that while generally speaking, top right is paragon and bottom right is renegade; it really depends. A lot of the time both are pretty neutral, just based on different perspectives. Just have to read the room/context of the situation.
Yeah fair
@@LivingSun They're always paragon and renegade. Paragon is all about being a typical hero and not saving people, which is why the one during the conversation with Garrus had you chastising him for being too careless. The renegade options are all about being ruthless and not caring about the consequences, which is why the one during the conversation had you agreeing with Garrus' ruthless mindset. Honestly, Garrus is the main reason why I always go renegade.
Garrus and Wrex are awesome! The next two companions are awesome too.
Fuck the human species in this game tbh lol. The alien squad mates from ME1 are among the best and most fleshed out characters in the trilogy. It's also interesting to see how much they change along with Shepard throughout the games.
Yeah I really like the alien bros :D
Don' worry about money by the end of the game you'll have the maximum amount of credits you can have 😆
Nice haha xD
I'm pissed off
When I'm pissed off I shoot things
Find me more bugs
Pew pew
I don’t know man, nice?
not sure either, but probably nice
Pretty nice
Shepard
Wrex.
Yes
FIRST LOL
Woo!
Minor spoiler. Whenever you see the reporter chose the option to punch her.
Getting intimidation is useful sometimes and will give you better prices when selling items.
Uhhhh probably not gonna do that lol, she seems nice
@@LivingSun They mean a different reporter. Again, minor spoiler, but there's a reporter you can meet later on that is really rude and tries to twist your arguments for her own ends.
Rex is best boy
Such a great introduction to him haha xD
@DCgameGuy85 1 Yeah he's the best. Gooooooooo Rex!
Garrus best waifu
Lol
