Faxanadu - Mist Town (8x Slower - Ambient)

- This homage to the eclectic and moody music of Faxanadu, an underrated NES gem, actually begins with a jazz tribute by the Faxanadu Jazz Unit (slowed 8x), which then blends into Jun Chikuma's original music (8x slower) to the "Mist Town" stage of the game. Additional effects have been added to smooth out some of the higher chiptune frequencies for a more pleasant ambient experience, but I try to stay as true to the originals as possible. The video itself is a pastiche of different playthrough videos of the original game, Ed Finley's Faxanadu Remastered, various artistic tributes, and other stock videos.
Original Music:
Composed by Jun Chikuma
Faxanadu Jazz Unit rendition of "Eolis" (with the opening hints of "Mist Town" sampled here):
Ryan Alley - Flute and Bass
Ben Varner - Saxophone and Flute
Mike Giles - Saxophone
Evan Davis - Percussion
Cedric Jones - Piano

What a great game - really takes me back. I like the video you selected to augment the haunting audio track - totally mesmerizing and a great job.
Glad you liked it! Yes, it's definitely an NES classic that was underlooked in its day but has gained a cult following over the years. Shadowgate may be next.
@@grainsofsandambientlands4226 Shadowgate would be welcome - it is another of my favourites.
