For sure, I always liked the older Grand Theft Autos because of that. More emphasis on game art so less on technology and graphics. Oh god I miss PS2/PS1 and even PS3 eras. Now it's just ultra consumer capitalist shit. Back then, video games were for nerds and outcasts, now it's more superficial.

used to walk to school some days in the early mornings, it was always extremely foggy outside and the streets were empty... part of me felt at home because of silent hill. listening to this took me back to those days all over again...
Never been a silent hill being! though lived my early life in resident evil world classic ones, but I felt the same way those fresh days of my childhood, I could easily be found as the only one alive in Raccoon city!
I was around 8 years old and i used to chill on the couch watching my bigger brother playing silent hill 1 & 2, when it was still day outside we used to close all the window shatters in order to block all the sunlight coming in the house and we were sitting in complete darkness playing this masterpiece of a series.
I suffer from severe anxiety and early stages of depression. Every now and then, when my crisis rises and I lost track of my own mind, I always come back here. This video became my safe harbor where I can breathe peacefully and regain the rhythm of my heartbeat. If the one good person who made it ever read my comment, thanks buddy. You helped me more times than I can remember. 💜
@andrecabral8735 Hang in there, AC. And that's no empty BS platitude; I know only too well the living hell that is SGAD including the hard fact that those who've never experienced it can't truly understand, how deeply f-cked up it is making the experience extra-lonely and therefore more harrowing. So if this music helps in even the slightest way then that's fully Kool and the Gang. My preference is for the most chill possible tracks, those w/little to no chance of evoking negative mood, affect or emotion (i.e. anxiety) such as some stuff in this mix including "Heaven's Night" and any SH or Fallout music that's fully ambient in a non-fear-evoking way (like "Casual Background", "Riverside Hotel Ambiance" and so on) or possesses soothing melodic, tonal, sustain and other qualities (e.g. "End of Small Sanctuary). Btw, "End of Small Sanctuary" owes no small debt of inspiration to the guitar interlude sounds in David McCallum's "The Edge" (the opening sequence of which famously served as the basis for Dr. Dre's 2000 hit "The Next episode"). While "The Edge" isn't a pure ambient track, it's def low-fi progressive (for the time) jazz/thematic music that's at least semi-ambient and worth a listen if you're not already familiar. And when the guitar interlude plays you'll be hard-pressed to deny that Yamaoka was a fan. But, yeah: severe anxiety and related disorders like PTSD suck in the worst way imaginable. So seriously: good luck because it's not an easy road to be stuck on and can be so bad that in relative comparison the dangers one faces in games like SH would be preferable because at least then you have reason to experience anxiety whereas with any severe anxiety disorder one experiences fear in all its form often with no cause and as an added detriment all the sh-t one does need to worry about becomes frequently overwhelming. As Frank Herbert wrote in DUNE, "Fear is the mind-killer" and once one comes down with SGAD or a related diagnosis the meaning those words represent become quite salient. Like in a "It's funny because it's true" way but more like "It's soul-crushing because it's true".
I always used to listen to Silent Hill soundtracks (second one especially) when I felt anxious, and this video helped me to relax while studying in college. Thank you so much for reuploading! My dad used to play Silent Hill games since I was 2 (basically when Silent Hill 2 came out), and till I was 6 I still have small memories from when I was next to him and he was playing it. Then at 11 I played it myself for the first time, and let me tell you, this game became my escape from all the hard stuff I was going through in life till this day😭. Even now that my dad’s not around that much, I’m thankful he introduced me to some of the most amazing things that I enjoy even now at 21... Thanks dad, hope we’ll meet again someday and play Silent Hill 2 together like the old times.
Just remembered that Silent Hill 2 came out in 2001, and Silent Hill 3 came out in 2003, so I kinda mixed up the dates. I was 2 in 2003, but my dad loved to play Silent Hill 2 the most around that time. I know that it doesn’t matter, just wanted to correct myself :))
This video has been my partner since I started working as an intern and finishing my degree in Chemical Engineering. In long days, long nights, and in those days were I felt like I couldn´t get through anymore. But, I am thankful that at least these moments have an astonishing soundtrack.
Musically speaking, he was inspired by 90s Trip-Hop, which has inspired modern day 2010-20s "lofi hiphop/chillhop", although the chords are more in the minor. However, his darker in-game music was inspired by Industrial(dark ambient, death industrial) style of music.
Its music draws that fine line between disturbing and relaxing, which is in my opinion what makes the original soundtrack so astonishing. As a metalhead, I have nothing against Korn's song for downpour, but it just lacks what Akira's work delivered.
It always hurts when these videos get taken down. Now I can't go back and read the many comments of people sharing their experience with the series. Hopefully this comment section picks up again.
If it's ok, I'll share mine. I played silent hill 2 a couple years after it came out, when I was in middle school. I remember being so scared late one night while playing that I had to dash to the kitchen, fearful that one of the fleshy straight jacket monsters would appear at any moment. More than the scares, though, was how the game played a part in shaping how I saw the world around me, how I myself thought. Its melancholy was like a mirror to my childhood depression and isolation. It was a safe way to explore the ideas of guilt, our inner demons, and how they manifest in our thoughts and actions. In conversations with high school friends, it taught me about skillful writing, symbolism, and crafting naratives that invite thought and self-reflection. The music is a familiar blanket to wrap up in when the depression, anxiety, and trauma of my life intrudes again. I came back to listen again because as I sat in bad, just diagnosed with a new illness and an uncertain future, the words of Mary's letter echoed in my mind. "In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill." As I dream of a carefree youth tainted by the rose tinted glasses of time, ever at my periphery are the crawling horrors of all that I have endured, all of my guilt, and the fear of falling back into the darkness.
This playlist deep af. I have played a load of hours across a load of Silent Hill games and watched tons of lore but not completed any yet. Done tens of hours of painting while playing this, while the sun came up and went down, usually in good moods but once did cry, listened to this with rain outside and just had to come back and download it after losing all music and wondering if the playlist was taken down, how sad that would be
In my restless dreams, I hear that Ambient & Relaxing Silent Hill Music (w/ rain amience). You promised you'd reupload it again someday...and you did. Glad you are back. I missed this video badly as it helps me to focus at work.
This first scene of James is so iconic and the music absolutely makes it. I've also listened to this for a long time now to help me get to sleep, works well.
I remember that SH3 came with the OST packed in. I LOVE Breeze in Monochrome Night, takes me back to those breathless nights spent trying to survive the horrors of Silent Hill...
I used to be addicted to the vibe of Silent Hill when I was a kid, and now growing old and looking at the past the game remains relevant. Its connection to karma and manifestations of our pain we live, and living ego death really is created in this game threw its beauty and horror with the bipolarity of existence, where dreams are made in a nightmare without seeing we are blind to ourselves always looking for something that we can never embody making our own hells.
Playing this in my office all october. i like to have the ambience for when i'm in a consult with patients. they all seem to appreciate how into halloween i get every year.
For many years as I experienced the torment and the madness of my life, I was inspired and calmed by this soundtrack that reminded me of days gone by in which I fell in love with the genre and the game itself.
When it rains, I open the windows, I sit in front of the window, I open a bottle of wine, And I just relax listening to some kind of background music like this I just love that feeling!
I'm sorry but I got mad trust issues, so I had to screen record the whole video on my PC just in case UA-cam ever decides to just delete itself one day
The original 4 Silent Hill games created by Team Silent are nothing short but legendary landmarks in survival horror games, hell in horror games as a whole. Akira Yamaoka’s music also brings those games to life with scary but also calming tunes!
I have played all the games in this series. They are not hell. They are too light. When I was 9 years old, I got acquainted with the first game in the series and I wasn’t scared. People who think the Silent Hill and RE series are scary are simply easily impressionable.

@Gaming Times Me as well I've been disappointed by most remakes. I've learned to not want the same experience but improved, but a different one from the original.
ITS BACK. I feel like I have been listening to this mix for 5 years (Probably dramatic but definitely have been listening to this mix for more than 2 years). I love it! I always listen to it when I do homework or sleep. This was probably my favorite UA-cam video. When I saw it was removed my heart broke and I almost started crying. I was sad and even made a REDDIT post. (Don't ask.) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REUPLOADING IT AGAIN. I feel like a missing piece was restored from my soul. Thank you so much. This made my month!
Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has been drifting into my town the last couple days. This has never happened here before - but it will happen more and more. There’s this pallid, ghostly mask to everything outside, and it’s much denser and more perpetual than fog. I’m moving away permanently in a couple weeks, so I’ve been walking around familiar spots from my childhood listening to this soundtrack. The smoke and the lack of people (who are staying inside due to the smoke) have made it feel like some abandoned and alien place.
This is both sad and beautiful. I also see smoke from forest fires over the city almost every summer and it reminds me how much I want to get out of this place where no one cares about anything. One day I probably will
I alternate listening to this and the Resident Evil mix during day-long research sessions for my thesis. One of my favorite BGM mixes for losing your mind in a relaxing way.
I got so many problems to Sleep. I have nightmares, sometimes i just wake up at night with no reasons. During quarantine this music help so much. I love this game and the soundtracks are a journey
This is the perfect music when I need to put my head down and get some work done on my computer. Its always the first thing I listen to when I've got work to do. Classic
1:11:15 There is no song more melancholy than "Tears Of" the first time you finish Silen Hill 1 when you hear this song you feel like going back to that town again
I listen to this while studying organic chemistry, my favorite subject. A lot of these themes are starting to become associated with it to me. These videos are an immense help to a lot of us! Definitely helps me focus.
THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for posting this again, I genuinely cried when this playlist was deleted because it brought me so much comfort or relaxation whenever I was stressed or too anxious to sleep for the past 2 years, it genuinely helps me throughout my day and I'm so glad its back.
Not tomorrow will forever be ingrained in my brain, from the first time I heard it I knew it summed everything I've ever known and loved about horror into one little track.
Just quickly putting this here thanks for uploading this, it's insanely helpful not just for when I'm working on stuff but it's something that's nice to listen to when I just kinda need to chill for a few mins. Silent hill's music really is just amazing, especially in the 2 remake.
gaw damn i love this playlist. Use it while at work, home for schooling or drawing, even have some of the songs on my apple playlist for sleeping. So pumped for the SH2 Remake, Happy Early Fall 2023 everyone, finish strong in your works and don't forget to breathe and have a little fun when you can! 🍂

Silent hill 1 & 2 are games i wish i could experience for the first time again and again. I went from playing Mario and Sonic to this masterpiece. It was quite the jolt
Idk if anyone has played miscreated; but this is the BEST music to listen to while playing, considering there is like not active players its just looting dead streets with the occasional few infected. and when the weather changes to intense fog.... Perfect
thanks everyone, for being here. this file has gotten me thru the year. cheers to all the old-school fans. and shout out to the newcomers who are entering a world that really, they will never leave. this music has been a great friend. I love you all. Ⓜ️
Strangely, Silent Hill is a very comforting place for me. I don't know why. Anyone else feel this way? Like you could just get lost in the cool, calm fog?
Too relatable told my sister about this and she said I was crazy. Sometimes I just want to go to Silent Hill and just be in the town with this music for a while.
I feel so nostalgic when I listen to these songs and see this image. Harry Mason, Toluca Lake, Nathan Avenue, little Laura... it stirs up a lot of emotions in me. This video game has given me something really unique that I can't even define. I played it when I was 16. Now my life has changed a lot and this video really stirs something in me. I really appreciate it.
Se que no entenderás porque es en español pero la verdad me relaja mucho este video, muchas gracias por haberlo subido de nuevo, me hace dormir plácida mente
I use silent hill music and sounds as alarm, ringtone and message sound on my phone. I absolutely love the games and music. I could have silent hill music playing at my funeral, even i could not hear it myself. Life is short people, try to enjoy it at the fullest. Greetings to all.
Thank you for uploading! I listen to this every other day while I work at night on the laptop. I was so upset I couldn't find it. I feel ready to attack life again.

@@THome92 This video has taught me many lessons.
Same. The entire score of Silent Hill franchise is calming und relieving.
@@ArminiusFH literally. And it’s a pleasure to listen to the music almost entirely done by one of my favorite artists Akira Yamaoka
I actually think I'm going to cry hearing these songs again in the remake
Now lets just hope they don't screw up the actual game
@@rlfpotatoking9253 i have faith
@Redrick Schuhart well i hope you’re proved wrong.
Please UA-cam don't delete this masterpiece!!!💯
Боже, здесь все самые лучшие треки, которые я раньше с трудом по отдельности собирала! Спасибо большое, автор подборки гений!
39:11 and 40:37 is the most memorable music composition for me because it is if someone wrote the way my mind works.
THIS! I thought I was alone with this feeling.
I legit have this auto play when I do homework. It's so soothing. Thank you.
there’s no other soundtracks to fit my mood at all times. no matter what i’m feeling.
Thanks for this edit man. When i'm depressed, this makes me feel at peace atleast.
THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for posting this again, I genuinely cried when this playlist was deleted because it brought me so much comfort or relaxation whenever I was stressed or too anxious to sleep for the past 2 years, it genuinely helps me throughout my day and I'm so glad its back.
I was worried about this! Thank you for re uploading!!!
Not tomorrow will forever be ingrained in my brain, from the first time I heard it I knew it summed everything I've ever known and loved about horror into one little track.
Yeah it's so beautiful but also so depressing especially knowing what happens to Lisa.
This mix legit helped me get the part on a film. They let me use my own music to audition and I used the Stray Child on point, they loved it.
listening to this while finishing a stressful assignment, really helping out a lot
Silent hill is backs boys, we did it❤️
Just quickly putting this here thanks for uploading this, it's insanely helpful not just for when I'm working on stuff but it's something that's nice to listen to when I just kinda need to chill for a few mins. Silent hill's music really is just amazing, especially in the 2 remake.
Dance With Night Wind - This song is beautiful, it transmits many emotions, without a doubt one of the best in the history of video games.
It's funny to me that music designed to keep people calm while dealing with horror is now life's theme music for so many.
That tells you lot about what society and the world at large has become in recent years. I think it's interesting too.
gaw damn i love this playlist. Use it while at work, home for schooling or drawing, even have some of the songs on my apple playlist for sleeping. So pumped for the SH2 Remake, Happy Early Fall 2023 everyone, finish strong in your works and don't forget to breathe and have a little fun when you can! 🍂
I can't wait for silent hill 2 remake as well. Love these games.
"Wishful thinking" is so comforting I've never heard it before! And I've been listening to these kind of playlist for years, it's funny to still discover new music

bro stfu urs painfully a bot begging for people to look at your channel
Silent hill 1 & 2 are games i wish i could experience for the first time again and again. I went from playing Mario and Sonic to this masterpiece. It was quite the jolt
Whenever fog rolls in I have to put on the Silent Hill tunes. Walking home at night in the fog with this is just incredible
Idk if anyone has played miscreated; but this is the BEST music to listen to while playing, considering there is like not active players its just looting dead streets with the occasional few infected. and when the weather changes to intense fog.... Perfect
Scared me there for a second. Glad to re-find it.
I listen to this almost every day. Thank you for making this mix!

Strangely, Silent Hill is a very comforting place for me. I don't know why. Anyone else feel this way? Like you could just get lost in the cool, calm fog?
Yes.
Too relatable told my sister about this and she said I was crazy. Sometimes I just want to go to Silent Hill and just be in the town with this music for a while.
Homework is a breeze with this.
i'm legit so happy, tysm for reuploading, this stuff helps me work, sleep, etc!!!
I have been listening to this playlist for two years, it is my friend to do my homework.
Aaaaaand the ramke is coming, finally! Let's hope for the best.
We do understand, since Google can translate, you know). Thnx for your opinion.
Hey! Aquí también un hispano-hablante. Es bueno saber que hay gente que le gusta este tipo de playlists, necesitan mucho más reconocimiento
Do not worry my friend. We live in the future.

Listening to this on a cloudy day, sick with a flu, and writing.
Feels so calming, like a lover's embrace.
I use silent hill music and sounds as alarm, ringtone and message sound on my phone. I absolutely love the games and music. I could have silent hill music playing at my funeral, even i could not hear it myself. Life is short people, try to enjoy it at the fullest. Greetings to all.
