- In this video, I will be talking about how the majority of people watching The Last of Us HBO Episode 1 are absolutely loving it and how in consequence, the haters and anti-woke crowd are hella quiet and don't know what to say. It's a joy to see how many people enjoy the quality of the first episode and can't wait to see more of TLOU HBO. Everyone loves this show and I do too.

I've never been this excited for a show. First episode is super promising. Only minor complaint is the lack of skepticism from Joel when ellie is tested positive and she says it's been 3 weeks.
I'm sure he will be at the start of next week as they had to hide so he didn't have much time to take it in
Think he was still starstruck from what he did because he remembered his daughter’s death. They’ll definitely go more in-depth into this, it was probably a quick hook for the second episode
I think i saw a clip where Joel is extremely unhappy about the fact that Ellie tested positive, presumably from the next episode.
I'm honestly happy about it and can't wait to see how they're going to add Abby story line. And hope we get some flash back when Joel was a hunter with Tommy at one point in time.

The episode was flawless, that’s how to adapt a game into another medium, stay faithful to the material while changing a few things to flesh things out.
I’m in shock over the user score, I was expecting review bombing the likes of which we haven’t seen since last of us 2, I wouldn’t have been shocked if it woulda been under 25%
Kind of shows the general audiences aren’t all about that anti-woke agenda and just want good content! Tlou HBO was that amazing even the haters are quiet! Just utter phenomenal

The first episode was phenomenal! These games have changed my life and made me slowly open back up to people so this franchise means a lot to me. This series surpassed my expectations in every single way. The way they adapted it to television blew my mind I was constantly surprised and blown away. The casting all across the board was fantastic! I personally loved everything about it and can't wait for the rest of the series. Highly recommend this series to everyone who either hasn't played games or has. They found a way to introduce people who haven't played the games to why we love this series but also cater to the fans by having small easter eggs for us. The best tv show of all time!
And people are like "oH, iT's wOkE tHiS, wOkE tHaT" like yeah cool story buddy. Actual people seem to like it
General audiences have completely overshadowed the hate
When a show is so good, it ceases to become subjective. It's objectively good.
I must say, I'm very impressed with episode 1 so far. For people who have not played the game, this is the perfect opportunity for them to immerse themselves into the The Last of Us universe where they get to explore its dark and grim world.
As for the haters, the ones who you deemed "politically driven" and "their mission to hate" anyway, they really should have moved on by now for their own good. But I guess some wounds never heals. This is not TLOU 2. This is a new and different take on TLOU, one that might even offer as a soothing medicine after the dark experience of TLOU 2.

dude, honestly it was amazing! i was nervous it wasn’t gonna live up to the hype it was getting but it sure damn did and there are pretty damn good reasons. it was absolutely amazing capturing every little moment from the actual game and then some. can’t wait for ep 2
What I loved about the changes that they made in the show just developed the lore in a way that developed the world of the last of us
It’s been INCREDIBLY satisfying watching the UA-cam “grifters” apologize and say they were wrong etc. after saying for months this show would be a failure.

It feels so nice to know that me defending the cast and show in the comments was worth it. First episode was a masterpiece and everything I’ve ever wanted and MORE. I can not wait for more, my god.
That headline is a contradiction. If 'everyone' loves The Last of Us the so called haters must love The Last of Us too. The truth is, apart from a handful of fools, 'the haters' aren't haters for hating sake, they're more critical and demand higher standards. That's all. This show has high standards, hence those who would normally hate, love the show.
The “haters” I referred in the video aren’t people that were jusy critical and shared their opinions of part 2…it was the people that made it their mission for more than 2 years to hate on anyone who liked the game, worked on the game or jusy said anything positive of the game. It also includes the anti-woke crowd who fabricated narratives that the game focused more on being woke than telling a story which is far from the truth.
I do think it’s going to be a great show, but I do worry that they might change the theme of the story to make it more mainstream, like typical male centric, masculine story. “The Tommy and Joel Show” “Can a true man learn to feel and love his (sister, mom, girlfriend, daughter, wife)??? One thing I don’t see many people praise about The Last Of Us story is how female centric the story is. Ellie is the main character the story affects her and we are playing as Joel who are a part of the narrative.
When I see a lot of people analyze the story I’m surprised on how different they see the story.
I personally see it as Ellie’s and Joel’s traumas clashing against each other fighting for which one of them are more important. Part 1 ends with Joel taking away Ellie’s agency and he takes away her reason to keep on fighting.
Or as some people might see it as being “WOKE”
I think the show will have a healthy balance when it comes to men and women. The first episode showed that. If they follow the games and just add upon the relationship between Ellie and Joel, that will make it a success. Plus if they adapt part 2, those seasons will be more female centric so all parties win with this franchise
Nico Parker did so well, I am once again heartbroken by the loss of that character. Bella Ramsay also really encaptures Ellie's personality. And Pedro Pascal shines in the role, as always; there was never a doubt there.
Really happy with how things are going for this show, for more than just one reason. I really like both of the TLOU games, it's great to see the avid haters of Part II not being able to shit on any of the material HBO has so far - maybe nothing other than the "senseless race swapping" thing which is such a typical thing for them to comment anyway.
Excited for episode 2, only a few hours away!
First of all, No spoilers in my comment, no spoilers for game or the show (not even ep.1):
I loved it. I watched Ep. 2 too. The stuff they changed from the source material was awesome. Surprisingly, even though many things are copy and paste from the game, the show still does not fail to impress even a gamer like me, who finished TLOU1 & 2 multiple times.
P.S. I loved when I saw that copy/paste stuff. I would not like to see the important moments, dialogues etc to be changed from the game and when I see the copy/paste moments, I just smile. Love it!
There are scenes where you do not know what is going to happen and even worry about the characters you know should be safe.
And the Greatest Thing about the show? They kept Gustavo's Music!!! I mean, this person is amazing! And his music fits with the show as well, if not better than game!
Can't wait to see the whole show and the wait between the episodes are like forever!
There were a few spots I noticed they opted to change from the game play to the big screen. For example when Joel, Sara and Tommy were skirting around Austin to escape instead of being rammed in the side by that vehicle at the intersection they opted for the airliner crash to overturn their car didn't understand that but that was ok. Another was when Joel and Tess were going to retrieve their stolen goods they opted out of a shoot out and instead gave that hand to Marlene completely not to mention going through a train tunnel instead of a shipping dock. These are just a few examples of noticeable differences but no less appealing, some of the actions taken in the video game arguably could of implicated Joel and Tess and Ellie if scenes were followed to the letter with the video game in a real world scenario. I say kudos to the directors in providing us with a refreshing new take on this otherwise masterpiece of a story, can't wait to see more!!!
As someone who thought the show was going to be terrible, I was pleasantly surprised. I have issues, though, especially surrounding Ellie. Bella Ramsey hasn’t sold me on her performance, but I’m hoping I start to like her as she has more screen time. I also thought the way they introduced Ellie was strange, and the reveal that she’s immune didn’t feel very impactful. It felt shoved into the end of the episode so that they could end on a cliffhanger. I enjoyed everyone else’s performances, though. Pedro is great as Joel, Gabriel Luna has Tommy’s voice with a scary degree of accuracy, and I’m glad Merle Dandridge as Marlene is getting a bit more screen time than the game, because she is killing it. Most of what they’re adding feels purposeful. It just serves to supplement what’s already there.
I don’t think it’s better than the game or even on par with it. Not even close, but I have a feeling this show will be a decent substitute for non-gamers.
So far, I’m happy to admit I was wrong, and that the pilot was genuinely good.

While the show is great in its own right, the game just hit harder, and felt so much more emotional
I actually really liked it. As someone that only played the game once and just recently, I found myself forgetting every now and then the series was based on a game, and I was just completely immersed on the story. I actually liked better some scenes than the game. I think it’s a good way for non-gamers or occasionally gamers to enjoy the story and be able to assimilate all the complex feelings even without playing as the character. Like I was able to be more impacted by the death of Sarah in the series than in the game.
Could not believe I cried and felt Sarah's death scene again. Felt the same!
So far it's true to the source material. Pedro Pascal not only looks like Joel, he captures his personality, his roughness. Bella Ramsey captures the foul mouthed and violent temper of Ellie. She's doing so good.
Majority of game adaptations usually blow. Very few succeed because they stay true to the video game that's being adapted such as: Mortal Kombat (1995), Silent Hill (2006), Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Castlevania (Netflix), Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, and just now The Last of Us.
I believe the Last of Us franchise is the best in all forms of entertainment!

🙏🏾Be patient. The haters are always late to the party lol. I'm sold on this show off of one episode. I was surprised at how engaged I was while watching this considering how well I already know the story. They made the perfect amount of changes and additions without taking away anything that made the original opening great.
My expectations were low but even if they were high, that first episode still would have exceeded them
I played part 1 and 2 and loved them both. Even though I knew how needs would end, the episode was still intense and dramatic. Cannot wait for sunday nights now. I’m probably going to watch it again tomorrow.

Nothing but amazing stuff in that first episode. The way they adapted it and expanded it, adding new details that weren’t in the game is great. Bella Ramsey killed it and was the highlight of the episode for me. Ellie is my favorite character and I wasn’t worried at all about if she would do a good job portraying her. She exceeded my expectations actually.

I think we have to understand the situation, tlou is loved by many even after the release of tlou 2 so its normal that its getting a lot of praise, the thing would be when tlou 2 hbo releases, i guarantee you that its not going to be the same case, i know people who dislike tlou 2 and their only mission is going for tlou 2, not tlou

I’m glad there’s a video regarding TLOU that calls out the weird people who had zero intention on giving the show a chance and clearly WANTED to hate it the second they heard any details of deviation.

I remember checking the rotten tomatoes scores and being really surprised and happy when I saw the really high score.

Amazing and actually surpassed my expectations which were very high.
It seems to be absolutely amazing, one thing I don't like about the fans tho is that so many fans are saying it's absolutely the best thing ever (don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely loving it myself) fans are alittle to hyped and the haters are pointing that out and it's giving fans a bad name (I'm not saying this is all fans but many are doing this). Like I saw a tiktok of a guy saying how amazing it was and it better than The Walking Dead (which is straight up not true since TWD is 11 seasons) and the haters pointed this out and it really pisses me off. All I'm saying is that some of the fan base is ruining it and the haters are seeing this. I hope this problem gets fixed bc I don't want tlou to get a bad name bc it is amazing so far.

I never understood people bashing a show or movie that hasn't come out yet And a lot of these channels on UA-cam they just do it for views pandering to a certain crowd. It's like just shut the hell up watch the show and then make your assessment after that What's so hard about that? The show was awesome!
They do it cause they were mad some characters in this show originally were once white are now black and cause there are lgbt characters in the franchise. That’s mostly the hate it gets.

Just seen the episode. Oh my god. If people still say Bella isn’t a good Ramsey they are officially lying to themselves. Looks are a factor when it’s comes to portraying a faithful representation of a previous character. One small factor depending on the character. Ellie is mostly all about her personality and the way she behaves. They have got this so spot on a can’t actually believe it. Absolutely fantastic

The episode was phenomenal, i rly loved the details we didn't see in the game. Sarah's death was 10 times more tragic than it was in the game. It felt as she just died in front of my screen, it felt so real.
My only complain was with the watch gift scene, i believe the jokes were better from the game but that's just it.
I've read someone mentioning no spores in the scene with Tess but i trully believe it wouldnt be good timing for that. Games orften rush the story telling and we're all here to enjoy the story how it unfolds NOT to copy eveything at the exact way.
I have no words for the two protagonists of the series, everyone else are simply amazing as well. I'm a huge fan of Torv and i was so hyped to see her in the cast, she fkin killed it as Tess

On the plus side great acting, good script, story faithful to the source material, cast look like the cast in the game but here is where this was an opportunity lost and where this could have been sensational. The camera work and cinematography does not create the tension that defines this game. Too many instances where multiple camera changes within the space of thirty seconds when they are ie. walking down a creepy tunnel so any tension is lost and it is far less immersive and creepy/scary. This TV programme lacks atmosphere (especially lacking the atmosphere and essence of the game) and has been overhyped beyond belief. The makers have played it safe in a way but if they had filmed it with slower shots, more creative shots etc. it would have been even better. As it is apart from the opening twenty or so minutes up until his daughter was shot and then the last ten minutes it was a complete dullfest. Like a made for TV movie with better acting and script. If this wasn't based on this amazing game it would be seen as another run of the mill TV drama. People are going overboard about how sensational it is because 'it is so much like the source material' but it isn't because it lacks the immersiveness, tension and atmosphere of the game. The actress playing the role of Ellie is good but the actress who played his daughter was different class and would have been better cast in her role and made to look more like Ellie. Opportunity missed!

If you really press most people who hate TLOU2, most of them never even played the game for themselves. I think both games are masterpieces. Most hate comes from people who never got the context of part 2 and decided to crap on it immediately. It's not woke. It's a story about how we deal with loss and grief and the damage it can do to us and the ones we love. This show is fantastic so far. I'm extremely happy so far!

I liked most parts of the show except some scenes like in the game tess was like the badass women who pulled out the gun and shot a dude and the robert chase scenes
The final scenes felt a little rushed whereas in the game they took their time and tess was about to shoot ellie's brains off . But tbh i liked most part a solid 8/10 for me

I have noticed that The Walking Dead fans are joining Xbox and Part II haters lol. Such battles never ends it's like when you love something you need to hate and shit on the other it's like the battle that was between HOTD fans vs LOTR Rings of Power fans. It's very common in every medium. I don't how these people think. Why bother when you could love everything watch everything play everything and respect the people behind the scenes making art.
I thought it was a good episode and I'm definitely going to rewatch it! My bigest problem was Ellie. I wasn't a fan of how she was here. It felt very overacted and she didn't have the charm that Ellie has for me. But I'm hoping she gets better for me in the future episodes!

Overacted how and when, exactly? I'm asking so I can ascertain whether or not there's really an issue with Bella's performance or whether you're running into a mental block due to you having a preference of the portrayal of Ellie as devised by Ashley Johnson and the game artists.
It’s the first episode ! In the game when we meet Ellie, she’s the same way, potty mouth, guard completely up & kinda annoying joel. I saw the same Ellie in the show that I encountered the first time seeing her in the game

Everyone's acting is wonderful-- fully believable. Pedro portrays Joel's shell-shocked demeanor perfectly. 20 years later and he's still suffering the effects of losing his child in an unexpected and brutal manner. It's clear that he's taken barbarous actions to have survived the apocalypse and made it all the way from Texas to Boston. He appears tired and muted, but his rage is always simmering beneath that deceptively placid surface.
Regarding the original commenter's claim that Bella lacks Ellie's charm, I have to disagree. For me, Bella's portrayal of Ellie, in this episode, is exactly as it would be considering we meet her after she's lost her best-friend, been bitten by an infected, been imprisoned for over three weeks and held under threat of death for potentially being infected and on the brink of turning. Ellie's charm is there, but it's hidden under warranted frustration and wariness-- if Joel and Tess discover she's sick, they could decide to end her life, so she's not exactly going to be oozing charm in their company nor anyone else's. She's a headstrong child who's grown up in the midst of an apocalypse, and within the walls of a city that's ruled by a cruel government. She's flippant, courageous and quick to act, but still ignorant of just how dangerous the outside world is. At this point,, she's all bluster and courage. Yes, she's equipped, emotionally, to survive a savage world, but just what will be demanded of her, in that savage world, aren't things she's cognizant of. Yet. With all those considerations, Bella's portrayal of Ellie is right on target.
If both Pedro and Bella keep this level of nuanced performances up, this will end up being an excellent 9 episodes of television, not just a great live action version of a brilliant game.

I feel like they’re going to nail this from start to finish. They’ve captured the mood & aesthetic from the game. So many scenes where you feel like you have the PlayStation control in your hands lol. Can’t wait for the journey to unfold & the character depth to get more intense (despite knowing everything lol)

@@RyanG0899 part two was uncomfortable to watch/play. I don’t think anyone with any common sense could say it’s not a good game in terms of the design, acting, overall playability; it just throws such an uncomfortable and unpleasant curveball at the start that you want to put the game down in disgust. The character arcs are really good but I just don’t feel like I want to play it again because I somehow enjoyed it without ‘enjoying’ it. Like Schindlers List or something. I didn’t think it was particularly ‘woke’, and I’m not really sure where that idea came from.

@@apnerds I believe that season 2 might take place between Parts 1 and 2, with season 3 being centered around Part 2. If they take that approach, then maybe the show could make the people who didn't like Part 2 see that game in a different light; kind of like how the Clone Wars changed a lot of minds about the Star Wars prequels. Watched the episode and thought it was great. I watched Geeks and Gamers videos and he said he was wrong about it being dead on arrival, but you could tell he didn’t really mean it because he still brought up the Sarah race swapping and the diversity throughout the episode and that he thinks it could still turn out woke, identity politics and stuff. The episode was great, yet he still grasped for straws, well, who cares what people like him say, I think the show will still turn out great.
It’s because channels like his will always can’t truly admit when something is good without pandering to their racist and homophobic audience. They always need to include a glimmer of hope that something will be shit so they can keep having their audiences come back for more. It’s truly pathetic what these people do
@@apnerds And another damning thing about him is that there’s a clip of him saying he likes The Last Jedi, but now a days he can’t shut up about it. To be fair, he could have changed his mind about it, but still with how much he talks hate about it, you’d think that he hated it from the very moment he saw it. On a similar note, I’ve seen a clip where he said even if Star Wars releases something he doesn’t like he won’t and I quote “Bitch and whine and moan about it” and what does he do, he bitches and whines and moans about it. He even said that the guy who plays Andor got the role of Andor just for minority reasons, which is wrong, the actor got the role for Andor because he played it in Rogue one. I get not liking something if it’s from things you don’t like, but seriously you don’t have to be so overly angry about, just say you don’t like it and move on and maybe focus on things you actually like, but apparently it seems selling your soul to the Devil for UA-cam money and just spreading hate is the popular thing.
The Last of Us is way better than The Walking Dead and Resident Evil
