- In this video, I will talk about my spoiler thoughts of episode 2 of The Last of Us HBO Show! This episode was honestly the best episode so far and it was perfect for me. A 10/10 in my humble opinion.

The atmosphere is absolutely insane it’s perfectly shot and looks identical to the game.
This show is truly “the last of us”
When “Allowed to be Happy” played towards the end, definitely got emotional. Love this episode.

When she said the sandwich line, I literally said out loud "That's Ellie!" Bella Ramsey has nailed it so far as the character.
I love the scene in Indonesia. The way they act, and speak, is so genuine & sounds accurate. Usually when they include foreign location or language in Western movies, it sounds so fabricated and doesn't sound like how it is to locals. In this episode it's 100% perfectly done.
This show isn’t just a great video game adaptation - it’s a great SHOW, full stop. Loving the work from Druckmann but as soon as I heard Mazin was involved after his work on the Chernobyl show, I knew this was going to be a BANGER!!
The aesthetic, the clickers, the actors, the infected, the backstory of the virus…. All perfect

Tess didn't want to run or fight as then she'd be unable to light the lighter. By standing still she was able to eventually light it and save Joel and Ellie. It's not rocket science. She was already infected and as gross as this is .. he was just infecting her.
Perfect Episode perfect ending Neil nailed it.
i wonder if the song "allowed to be happy" has more importance to this event, they teased it when tess was patching up, and then at the end at her death, definetly got emotional

Crazy live action directorial debut for Neil. I’m not even surprised though, I was expecting greatness and I was fed it in spades. What do you expect when you have the guy who directed both games directing an episode…?

This the first time I have ever left a comment on any UA-cam channel I agree with you that this series has improved my enjoyment of the Last of Us universe. The art direction has been top notch in that it has evoked the feeling of the game. I can’t wait for the rest of the episodes. Mr. Druckmann has delivered and then some!!
I must be living under a rock as I had never heard of the game! That being said I am loving the show, top notch script, actors sets and plot. Cant wait to see what happens next
I’ve seen the preview for Ep3 and that’s basically where TLOU is going to veer off into a different direction than the game it seems. But, I’m ok with that. I know most people would say it’s overkill but if these new scenes and side stories are received well by us fans I wouldn’t mind some DLC based on them. 😅
I played the game several times because it’s fun to play. I’m going to watch this several times because it’s good AF to watch. It can stand on its own

Great episode for sure, still finding myself preferring the game but I think once the shock bias wears off I’ll really really enjoy this show for what it is, separately from the game.
I feel you on that. There are things I still prefer in the game but there are things I prefer in the show. It just shows how good this show truly is

I’m loving the show so far but I’m definitely in the camp that prefers the game. And I love me some Pedro Pascal but when they told him not to look or play the game you can definitely tell he didn’t. Troy Bakers Joel is so much more intense. “IT IS OVER, TESS!” Is so much better in the game than how Pedro delivered it so calmly. On the other side of the coin you have Bella Ramsey who says she did look and play the game some and it shows through and though with her performance. IDK, I would’ve thought since Druckman himself directed the episode he would’ve gotten some more emotion and intensity out of Pedro/Joel in several key moments. Other than that though Pedro is killing it IMO.

Both episodes were perfect as far as I’m concerned, I like the flashback openings & id be fine if they did that with every episode.

I went back and watched the gameplay and it is so on point with the show. This show is really great and might I add, as you say, it's perfect.
Great start to the series for sure. Word on early reviews of the series a few weeks ago stated that EP 3 is a true masterpiece as well. Apparently that's really when things step up a notch. I'm excited to see how that's done. #lindoapproved ✅
The only complaints I have about these first 2 episodes are little petty nitpicking things. Example: Like Tess could have simply sat down in the fuel and sparked the lighter or pull a pin on a grenade.With that said, I'm loving this show so far

I honestly didn't think that there were any parts to TLOU that needed to be tweaked or altered because I felt that everything from the game was already done well. But after watching episode 1 and now episode 2, I gotta say that I'm not hating the tweaks and alterations one bit. My dad taught me that if it ain't broken then don't fix it, so why mess with the story of TLOU if it wasn't bad? I believe if you're going to change something then do it for the better to improve upon it, and that's what they did for this series. I honestly can't wait to see episode 3 and watch what happens next, even though I've played the game before, it feels like I'm reliving the whole story of TLOU for the first time again, but a little bit different this time around. 👍
the wildly different look between game Ellie and show Ellie has been the absolute hardest thing for my brain to get past in this show, but i love the actress and shes doing an amazing job with the role, so my issue is 100% superficial and ill get ober it. overall i absolutely love the show so far

This episode won me over on the show. I liked episode 1 but episode 2 was a masterpiece. Pedro and Bellas performances were fantastic. They both had the feel of their characters but brought unique performances as Joel and Ellie. Anna was great as well and Tess death hit very hard. The Infected looked very realistic. I was terrified of them. This show is such a fantastic adaptation of my favourite game and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Episode 2 is amazing and it is perfect. My final verdict 10/10.

It means Ellie, Tess and Joel were gonna run into trouble in the next episode. It was a form of symbolism
More context on the kiss, it felt uncomfortable, in which I feel like it was ment to feel uncomfortable. My question is was the “kiss” necessary? Was it a kiss? Was it just how they spread the fungus when people don’t run? I need more context on this.

The next episode is Bill/Frank. And since their names are mentioned a few times on ep1&2 I think they will change things up again.
Why and how Bill and Frank live outside the QZ? just for "freedom"? it's just non-sense. and even later Frank move out and be neighbor with the zombies lair just for them to find out the vehicle, it's just lazy ....
Joel/Tess are smugglers? but it seems they only smuggle stuffs in and out QZ not really traffic the stuffs across country, they might but surely not on a normal routine. They need someone outside the QZ to handle the logistics. They even have a radio for "communication". So Bill and Frank are the checkpoint and their "partners" outside of QZ(they may and probably serve multiple smugglers). they also prepared a truck so Joel can bring the battery.
Now if they have a "job" there. There's no way Frank go awol. Plus the 80's song at the end of ep1. It probably means they meet some trouble. I predict, it's the bandits. They stole the truck and maybe capture Frank. So in ep3 they won't be dealing with zombies but bandits. (in the game, they bandits are after they leave Bill). it's also doesn't make sense why the bandits spend time hurting them after the vehicle crashed. (they're not cannibal so they only for the vehicle, right?)
It was a near perfect episode. The one thing that annoyed me was why didn't Joel grab a few grenades, guns and ammunition when they found the dead Fireflies. In a world like that people would realistically scavenge any resources they can. With so much attention to detail they've put into the show, I was surprised by obvious dumb moment. But it's a small gripe in the grand scheme of things. Great episode

It pretty much is but the zombie running to them didn't happen it was soldiers imo I don't mind the zombies even though it's basic
but I hate the "kiss" and I hate that they disrespected her like that just broke the tension imo
But the worst change is that they made them so different joel is such a pussy joel in game was a monster Ellie is way to angry and this is not the there acting but the fact that they never played the game I would rather see Joel and Ellie from the game in the star wars world then these random people trying to be them in the last of us world i would recommend playing the game after the show it's better you might no be as harsh on it but yeah
I,do like the show, But the more i watch the more worried i get, the first episode is better than the second my opinion. I am more interested in society and how a pandemic can make people do horrible things than infected zombies, so in my opinion they should have scrapped the infected like on of the original ideas of the first game. But it still looks good
I respect you're opinion but no it wasnt i believe they could have given tess a backstory or kept her there for a while longer then kill her off.
In the game she's a tutorial but it feels like we have been with her longer cause we are playing and she is by our side, in the show it doesnt feel like that and so her death feels soo quick. Dialogue i can pass even though i like the game's more it just hit more. but the show had a chance to do something with tess and they wasted it. I love both games and for that reason im soo harsh on it. Everything else surrounding it is perfect though.
While I do love Tess, she is not a part of Joel and Ellie’s journey. Her story ends there in every version of the story. Her death leaves Joel to decide whether he will push on and get Ellie to the fireflies or if he will bring her back to the QZ. Her death and her hope that she exhibits is what pushes Joel to believe in Ellie, even if it’s just a little bit. And it’s what makes Joel that much more willing to protect Ellie.
@@kikimurray7328 my point is they are taking time to flesh out its world and its side characters, yes tess story ends there i wouldnt want it to be any different but because its a different medium i was hoping they would do a little bit more with tess thats all.
I liked it, but personally I thought that Tess asking Ellie why was she so important to Marlene after Ellie herself showed them her immunity was just dumb. I mean what other reason would be. Pretty good episode anyways.
Tess had hope, she saw the light at the end of the tunnel. She was asking the importance because she wanted to get more reassurance. The reassurance was a subtle way of reminding herself "To follow the light" at the end of the tunnel.
Watching episode 2 for the first time, I liked it. But upon rewatching watching, It truly is a masterpiece!👌

I give it a B. I enjoyed watching Ellie and Joel warm up to each other, but I also disliked some of the directions explored by the show. The opening scene for example was pointless, misogynistic, and straight silly. A professor of mycology performing an autopsy? Also, the last thing a scientist would do is go spend time with her family if her expertise were needed. A scientist would also never tell the army to bomb an entire city.
?????? What are your points brother, since when is a scientist not allowed to think the city has to be bombed?
@@fortnitepro2892 Because it would be a gratuitous war crime, in addition to closing the barn door after the horse has bolted. Also, since cordyceps only has a minor impact on insect populations, there would be no reason to think it would wipe out humanity. It's just plain stupid and lazy writing.
I respect your opinion but I agree and disagree with most of what you said. Overall I did like the episode, think everything has been mostly done right but I didn't fully like the scene that should've been the capitol scene. It was hit and miss at times because just like the ending from last episode (though I think the acting was far better than in that scene) it just feels a bit rushed and what has been cut from the of script affects it. Still like some of the changes and I do like that it was infected as to why they had to flee but my biggest gripe was that "kiss scene lol nah that just wasn't it, I get it, they saw her as infected, she was almost turned and she managed to fight for one last second to get the lighter off and all that good stuff, but I really think that the "kiss" was just unnecessary and not just cuz it was gross, its cuz it just feels really out of place. Now if they had kept it like what I feel was their inspiration, the Alien scene, it would've been much better lol.
But yeah didn't like that and also feel like they didn't nail the character of tess and wish her dismissal wasn't so quick (which the 9 episodes make it the issue) I get she wasn't really that long in the game either but feel like maybe with some more time they would've hit it.
And what I do agree the most with you is the intro scene, those been the best of the show and ep 2 intro was SO GOOD. AMAZING

Perfect, 10/10 😳, You're a real comedian, the perfect episode where the clicker bites Tess offscreen... That's perfect for you, the clickers are so strong and fast that they disfigure and tear you apart if they reach you, how is this perfect and realistic that Tess was just bitten by clicker... Pathetically bad scene with 2 clickers, shooting them and head shooting scenes are still B production quality, like I'm watching a theater play instead of a movie/series
