- In this video, I will talk to you guys about my first impressions of The Last of Us HBO Episode 1 and this video of course will not contain any spoilers. This has been one of my most anticipated shows ever and I'm just happy to say it was just all perfect. The Last of Us HBO Episode 1 was perfect and it was a masterpiece of an episode.

Agreed, I can't wait. I love Part 1 and 2. I know 2 is divisive but I think it's an incredible game and I hope they adapt it for season 2.

IMHO this 1st episode was perfectly balanced between fidelity and originality. It was similar enough so that game fans can look at it and recognize both the characters and the story itself, but also original enough in order to still make it interesting and keep the audience on their toes, even though we all know whats gonna happen. Absolutely fantastic!

The last of us is my favorite game and franchise. I am beyond excitement to watch the show and re-live the magic and brutal world of the last of us. I am vert glad to hear that the environments are amazing bc for me that is the last of us.
You will be shocked just how faithful the environments are to the game. HBO, Craig Mazin & Neil Druckmann have done us fans proud

I went to the screening premiere yesterday in nyc! I love the little Easter egg that we can find in the show that only the people played the game would know.
Pedro as Joel was ok for me tho. I think I need to see more of his character development before I can comment. But Bella absolutely nailed Ellie’s essence! Now we have to wait 2 weeks for episode 2. :(
One thing I love to mention is that the music choice was brilliant! It was a good first episode! 👍🏻

@@iad77 For them it will be 2 weeks since they saw ep 1 early they need to wait for the rest of the world to see it then wait the 1 week for ep 2.

Is the series gory like the game? I know that's not what matters always, but for this it's important
I think they have toned the frequency of it down, not the intensity of it. But probably have it keyed in for moments rather than the game constantly reminded you while you play how your a death machine and the world is brutal

@AP Nerds I just did played last of us 1&2 I got to say I like two alot sure be granted it has pacing flaws I hated the game for a long time now I think the game is misunderstood I gave it 5/10 my opinion now 8/10

Just watched it, and I liked it very much but I am not sold on Bella Ramseys acting.. and also when they deliver those lines from the game is just horrible.. the pacing is a bit weird. But overall as a adaption it is very good. I’m excited for episode 2.
I was abit worried that since lots of actors and actresses are different from the characters from the game that they were going to change lots of the story or like some political agenda like I've heard but your review is very positive especially when you mention alternate universe so I'll definitely watch it and I love that you preferred the game cause video game story definitely feels your connected
The original game had multiple LGBT characters, so hopefully you don't consider that "woke".

Last time I will say it. Part 2 is better. Play part 2. Its actually way better.
Part 2 is good but it's not better than part one.
@@ray24051 everything about part 2 is better. Gameplay is smoother. More combat. More things to do. Better story. Better AI. If your just hell bent on the first part of the game in part 1 and maybe some moments in between and the end then thats just silly. Part 2 has a better story. Part 2 just doesnt have a crazy opening like part 1 for good reason. Sure thats cool but its not like the best thing to happen in a video game. Play The Darkness or telltales guardians of the galaxy. Even the suffering is a better game than tlou part 1. But youll never play those because i suggested them. Dead Rising itself is a better game. Part2 though is just like the best third person shooter ever made and it upsets me no one but me can see that. I never want to play part 1 ever agian. Its just boring. It was good when i first played it but that was it.
@@SomeRandomGuy369 I lost you at "better story". Anyone can see that the first storyline is better, everything is better, the characters are better. From the minute I saw the leak about Joel dying I knew part 2 would be shit. The "cinematography" (in a sense) is nonexistent, like there's no camera work in cutscenes, it's not visceral, there's nothing to the Last of Us 2 beneath what we see at the surface. Every shot in Part 1 was calculated, the scene where Joel dies has one camera that does nothing but go around characters, there's nothing clever about it. Sure there's better gameplays than Part 1, nobody said otherwise. Part 2 feels like unfinished notes scratched from a book, there's NOTHING clever about it, it sure tries to be but fails.
I will always say this : Part 2 should have been about others characters and other themes. Joel and Ellie's storyline ended because they were safe. They should have focused on other characters in other parts of the world and tell another beautiful story, with, idk, maybe a father and a son? an entire group?
Would have been way better than what we had.
I really hope they changed the storyline of part 2 in season 2, like most adaptation tv series changed a lot of story from the original except the first seasons

Even though many don’t like part 2 there’s also many who do like it and I think it’s very misunderstood. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean they have to ruin and change the whole narrative.
@@Unpopular_Figure my problem is that the promotions and the creators said that Joel would be in this game a lot, and also said that Joel and Ellie are the main focused, but we spent more time with Abby more than Joel and Ellie, and then we've seen Abby killed Joel, yet we still play as her
@@roarmbee7045 the story still is centered around ellie and Joel wether he’s dead or alive. Yeah the promo was pretty bad I won’t even hold you on that one because it’s true. However it doesn’t change what they said about the story. And even if you don’t like Abby I’d argue she had the more fun gameplay.

The best adaptation of a video game ever? The bar is so low that this statement doesn't really mean anything. Glad early reviews have generally been positive, though.
It was really boring. Joel and Ellie miss cast. Bella is a terrible Ellie. They fell like cosplayers in the role. This is a pointless adaptation compare to the game. The additions added nothing to the story and just shows why the game is perfect.

Is it more likely that HBO paid some random dude with only 22k subs to say something good about their show. Or is it more likely that a show with great source material, consistently great actors, and a great writer known for writing one of the best HBO shows and also the director of TLOU game, is great?
@@StrangewaysNow Pedro is good in other films but it was bad casting on this an same goes for the actor that plays Ellie l, Neil has been shit since TLOU 2 yes I love both the games but the story line was shit in part 2 an so has his material since then, I will give you this, I will watch it tomorrow an if it’s good I will change my opinion.
