Hope you guys enjoy the video celebrating the 2nd anniversary of The Last of Us Part II. Make sure to like the video as it helps out a lot. Love you guys❤
Hey! So I just got a text from someone claiming to be you/your channel saying that I won a free giveaway after leaving a comment on this video! Is that true? Or am I being stupid? Lol
Please don’t make it your last TLOU2 video. I love all of your TLOU videos and opinions and like you, the game lives rent free in my head at least once a month. Listening to a 30 minute essay about TLOU is always a treat and I will never get bored of your takes
This game is incredible. I can’t believe it’s been 2 years. I had lost someone incredibly important right before part 2 came out. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to play it at the time. Ultimately I did and it wrecked me. Losing Joel really messed with me. I was so confused, sad and angry. It felt like I had lost another family member. Its depiction of how different people deal with loss and grief was just perfect in my eyes. I could relate/understand not only Ellie’s and Abbys motivations, but Tommy’s, Yara’s, and Lev’s as well. Also, some people think this game disrespects Joel, but to me, it’s an amazing tribute to him. Even though he is killed off brutally early on, he is all over the rest of the game. Aside from the museum flashback; through her journal, her actions and the song/guitar. I haven’t seen anyone talk about this, but I’m convinced that when Ellie is in shock after killing Mel and Owen, she hears Joel say “Ellie”. Reminiscent of when he comforts her after she kills David. I know it’s actually Tommy, but I think she still has that expectation that Joel is right around the corner. It gives me chills every time I hear it. I love TLoU as a whole… but Part 2 is easily my favorite game/story of all time. It really hit me like no other story has. It was an unforgettable experience. Like others have said, I have thought about it almost every single day since it’s release. I hope you don’t stop talking about TLoU. It’s nice to hear someone speak positive about it. There’s far too many videos still complaining about part 2.
This resonates so much with my feelings as well. In the end, Ellie wasn't simply unable to forgive Abby for killing Joel. Actually, she couldn't forgive Abby from robbing her the chance to forgive Joel, which is the same as Ellie couldn't forgive herself for not forgiving Joel when he was alive. The end of part 2 is brilliant because it goes back to Joel's decision in the first game. Yes, in part, saving Ellie was a selfish choice, but Joel also saw Ellie's value as a person, that she had value much beyond her potential as a cure, but as a human being. A value that Ellie didn't give to herself, as she thought her life would only mean something if she had died. It's a masterpiece, part 1 and 2 as a whole.
For me it was a masterpiece. I can understand why ppl didn’t like it. It wasn’t the story ppl wanted to see. I think over time ppl will look back/ play it again and realize how amazing it was
It is very controversial, and I don’t mean it in a bad way. Actually, Neil Druckmann even said that the game was created as a test for player’s emotional checks, seeing how different players will have different reactions to the same scenarios. Unfortunately, the game chose to do it without preparing people for the scenarios, so I understand how people hate it. Though I have to say this, video games might not be the best way to test these things out. As far as I know, gamers are not the best groups to test, since a lot of them can have pretty “rough” knowledge of emotional understanding. I truly wish that in the next decade, TLOU2 will gain people’s respects like what Moby Dick got after decades of being misunderstood.
& I love it for that reason. Life doesn’t always work the way you want it to work & it’s no different in this game. It wasn’t just a big cliche with a great ending. There’s plenty life experiences where I had to walk away empty handed & had to learn from it. That’s exactly what I saw in this game.
@@MR.__G I agree. Over the year’s I’ve had some loved ones pass away and the last time I saw them wasn’t a hug/kiss or a love you. It was just a ok I’ll see you. Just like the last time Joel and Ellie spoke. To me that’s pretty close to how things really play out in real life
@@retepoteil I had a situation where an ex friend who I loved as a brother did some disingenuous shit to me that made me completely disengage from him.. there’s time I think about how I want revenge for what he did & other times I think it’s just best for me to let it go & be the bigger person. I say that to say life isn’t perfect, fall outs happen, your emotions will test you & your actions will come with consequences (weather good or bad).. that’s everything I got from this game, which is so true to life…& rip to your love ones. It’s hard to appreciate everything/everyone in the moment. We’re all victims of it. All we can do is learn from it
The last of us part 2 is the boldest game ever made I went from hating it to loving it to just being neutral and cordgial with both sides. Having two sides at war with each other a war that is not beneficial in any way shape or form tlou2 showed me how cold the world can be no one is safe and every game can't give you the same satisfaction. Tlou2 showed me how the gaming community can be cruel when a piece of media don't work in there favor and go to extreme lengths also the same for fans. Tlou2 was very challenging and an emotional rollercoaster And I hope that the community find peace become cordgial and find closure thanks AP💙
This is my favorite game of all time. Followed shortly by Part I. These games, to me, are the best gaming has to offer in terms of quality, immersion, character, writing, acting, music, sound design, physics, scope, smooth game mechanics and groundbreaking storytelling that takes REAL risks. The hate this game gets breaks my heart and shows, to me, that many gamers just weren’t ready for this kind of heavy, empathy-driven experience. This game changed my life and has changed me as a person. This game just hits….. SO hard. I’ve thought about it every day since I beat it.
@@abbawada4185 Red Dead 2 is a masterpiece,10/10. It’s just too long of a game. I prefer 20-50 hour games that are insanely repayable, over 150-200 hour games I’ll never touch again. Even if I loved it. I just don’t have the time. 😂 But one could easily argue that Red Dead 2 is a better game, and it would be fair. But for me, NaughtyDog is king.
@@zacrast16 The fact that it's too long is why I wouldn't give RDR2 a 10/10. Knowing how long to make your story is part of making a masterpiece. I really enjoyed RDR2 up until the last 10 hours or so, when I was just ready for it to be over, when I didn't want to hear "I *have* a plan" one more time. Is it still really really good, still a game I'll play again someday when more of its internal story beats have faded from memory? Sure, But being too long was really its huge flaw.
They don’t like it because Joel died. I wish I could do a social experiment & get people who’ve never played this series start with 2. I very sure the way they view the game will be completely different
Naughty Dog has gotten me spoiled as far as polish on games. When I play Ubisoft or EA games you can tell they don’t even come close to the quality of ND’s.
I was horrified going into this game for this first time and ended up loving it. For the longest time, I thought it was just me Playing through Abby’s perspective gave me a kind of “oh god, what have I done? 😰” And it’s good to see there are people like yourself who recognize the difference between killing in cold blood and killing out of survival. Too many people can’t see the difference and don’t even know what “cold blood” means, which is horrifying
You're right, and if I was watching a tv show or a movie it'd probably be right there. But a video game is such a different medium because you're not just watching it, you're actively doing it. But even still, I didn't really give a fuck. For one it's a video game like SO MANY other games where you're just slaughtering enemies without a care in the world and I never cared or thought about their feelings and backstories because of leudo narrative dissonance, otherwise I wouldnt play these games. Yeah I could just stealthily sneak past everyone, but where would be the fun in that? And as for torture and maiming people, come on it's the fucking apocalypse, they've been living in it for 25 years, I wouldn't be surprised if Ellie has done that before off screen. And seeing Abby's side of things didn't change my mind. Basically I never thought "OMG how is Ellie doing this, she's so evil", because I'm emotionally invested in these characters following their story, I'm loyal to them, so I really don't care. Abby killed Joel so I want her dead, it's not the healthiest option but I doubt there's grief therapy in the apocalypse.
@@Noir-c9k I dont think the game necessarily wants you to 'like' Abby, but more so understand her. I think after all the time we spend with her, we realise she ain't any different to Ellie. People were rightfully mad and didn't like her because of what she did to Joel, but she had a good reason.
The last of us part 2 is a game I never thought I needed to play. Of course I was hype for it since it was announced and I also like everybody else, thought we were going to get another story with Ellie and Joel together. The typical “we’re going on another adventure” didn’t happen. Instead, we all lost our virtual father and watched the little girl we loved turn into a monster. And to make things worse, the girl who killed our father, we have to see her side of the story. Your analysis of the game’s story is tremendous so I don’t need to go there. But the developers did not want to go the cliche route that most story writers go for. They gave us something authentic and real, and outside of the different morals it was teaching us, it also taught us that, not everything is going to go the way you want it to. It tackled human emotions so ambitiously like no other story has before and I absolutely applaud it for that. It was different, it was real. That’s the reason I love it. I was in shock at the way joel was killed, I was angry at Abby and wanted her dead, I was happy at the flashbacks with Ellie and joel, then angry starting Abby scenario, then in shock of what happened to her, then interested in who she really is, and lastly I was remorseful at the thought that she was going through the same thing that Ellie was going through. She was in a dark place after losing someone she deeply cared for, therefore losing herself and fighting off demons. She’s human. Great analysis bro 👍🏽
Your comment gets at something very important. We as players actually felt the emotions the characters in the story did. That is the pinnacle of what storytelling aims to do. When Ellie lost Joel, we felt that loss because Joel was a beloved character. It wasn’t when we expected it or wanted it but real tragedies in life never are either. That is the true brilliance of this game
@Roberto R exactly! 👏🏽 that’s why I say this game goes against the grain and is more authentic than any other game I’ve played. It’s not a typical story that anyone could have predicted. They could’ve easily given us what we wanted but decided to take a different path. Most people let their emotions get in the way and didn’t have any logical criticisms of the game.
Naughty Dog took a massive risk with this game. Instead of pandering to what fans of 1 wanted, more Joel and Ellie, they decided to put the player's emotions, perspectives, and biases to the ultimate test. It's a fantastic piece of art in my opinion and I'd like to think that history will look back on it favorably. I mean, it's universally acclaimed by critics and won tons of awards, but the hate for this game is possibly the most rabid and vitriolic I've ever seen for a piece of media.
I really enjoyed this game. At first play through I had some issues but it took me time to understand during my second. The story was fantastic but the pacing threw me off a little but I understood what Naughty Dog was trying to do and I accepted it.
Dude, as a military vet with some decent bouts of PTSD at seriously random times, I've still been trying to make it through part 1 so I can start part 2... ...but yes, it's an amazing game all around.
Another masterpiece my friend this video definitely hit me in the heart appreciate the feature and your insight definitely opened my eyes more to the deeper meaning of this game! Happy two years to a game that changed so much for all of us 💙
I appreciate it bro and I’m happy that you enjoyed this video. It was an honor to have you feature. Hopefully we can collab more in the near future about our favorite games❤️
I really love Tlou2 without ever playing it. I watched twice the letsplays and i feel satisfied everytime i watch it... I just imagine my feeling the first day i will play it !!! That masterpiece. I finished Tlou1 more than 30 times on my ps3..
This game is so special to me as it gets older with me every year! ❤️ Felt like Druckman himself did gift me the game for my bday when it was released 😇
Truly an underrated channel. I definitely had to sub. Happy 2nd anniversary to my favorite game of all time🎉. You explained everything perfectly, that’s definitely some master class writing. Thank you for the video, I loved every bit of it🙏🏽👑!
TLOU Part II was a masterpiece…it’s surpassed the first installment in every way imaginable. People just wasn’t ready for it…& it’s hard for people to feel like they wasn’t ready for something. But they weren’t & it showed…even reading the comments that it took people time…to change they’re “Perspective” which was the main reason for the first game…but people got lost in the apocalyptic world & thought it was all about Joel & Elle…whereas though the ending made you see what this game was truly about “Perspective”. And majority of the people that played only saw things through Joel’s eyes…most didn’t even try to see it from Elle’s point of view. So Neil Druckmann said “I’m going to make you see outside of your Perspective with Part II”. And he did just that! Truly a genius move…I enjoyed every minute of it my first play through and didn’t even see the spoilers because really…why would anyone want to go online to look at spoilers for the Greatest Game that was coming out?!?!? 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ Didn’t make sense…so I stayed away. Great video though, glad you came around. 😌😎🔥🔥
Can't even think of what to say about this game, I keep coming back because it plays as smooth as butter and has the best emotional ups and downs. Not the story I asked for, but the story I needed to experience. Nothing has ever moved my heart as this game, I even got Ellie's tattoo on my chest. Truly changed me as a person and my view in life. Part 1 and 2 saved me from depression and boosted me to, as Joel said "No matter what, you keep finding something to fight for". Thank you Naughty Dog 🖤
I agree with every word you said in this video, I wish those that just trash the game would take a second & think about why the things that happened happened… cause the way you laid it out in the video was perfect, I love this game & it also lives in my head rent free, I’ve replayed this game so many times & I love it more with each passing play through, I might be in the minority here but this is the game I thought I was getting, from the first trailer my thought was “ok so Joel dies & Ellie is going on a revenge tour” even after seeing Joel in the trailers my prediction didn’t change cause as we know with the first game the trailers manipulated us into thinking one way when the game takes you another, happy anniversary last of us 2
(Edited) I have said this before and at this point I sound like a broken record, but I cannot emphasize enough on this very topic related TLOU 2 so here I go once again (also because my last essay comment got mysteriously deleted, thanks UA-cam!). The people’s reaction/perception of the revenge theme that was portrayed in the game was particularly fascinating, disturbing, and informative. Many people reacted negatively of Ellie sparing Abby and goes on the tangent of “because revenge bad…” or “Its okay I forgive you…” blah blah blah. One of the main reasons why was because many felt Joel’s death was left unavenged. What is so fascinating about these people’s comments and their tones of hate/bitterness reflects on how we perceive revenge in general (on the scale that involves taking away somebody you love). I have done some additional thinkings and analysis since I wrote the last essay comments and will add them now. What I said before is that a lot of people reacted this way with all those comments is because many people are too used to what I call “glorified/romanticized revenge stories”. Basically the revenge journey was portrayed as a glamorous/heroic endeavor and that the villain to kill is genuinely an evil individual who has the “they deserve to die/suffer” mentality. Something that add to this mentality that we often experience is the villain’s presence and threat. Often times these villains in these stories present actual threat to the hero or a certain group of people so there’s often a practical side of enacting vengeance upon them. Those tropes are what makes those typical revenge stories so easy to indulge. Additionally, tropes like the hero go badass mode and slaughter the enemies in their way with intense action scenes and gore/violence makes them the icing on the cake. Our desensitization to violence and gore also contributes to our indulgence. These romanticized revenge stories don’t really make us consider the consequences for the heroes which often result in the walking away scot-free or riding off to the sunset, generally on a good note and make us feel satisfied. For revenge stories that DO explore the various consequences for the audience, they’re often either drowned out by the actions/violence displayed or that the heroes are emotionally stoic/numb to the violence (which was not the case for Ellie/Abby), or sometimes the consequences are the afterthought after when the heroes completes the deed. We have already had SO many stories that makes the revenge stories glorified in movies and games already. Movies like Conan the Barbarian, Licence to Kill (007), Gladiator, Kill Bill (1-2), Inglorious Basterds, True Grit, Django Unchained, John Wick, The Equalizer 2, The Expendables 2, Death Wish, Rambo: Last Blood, No Remorse, Wrath of Man, and the latest The Northman. Games includes God of War (1-3), GTA 4, Dishonored, Sleeping Dogs, Watch Dogs, Prototype 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Sifu (initially). Some of these examples don’t really delve into the consequences of their actions or the consequences are an afterthought/drowned out by actions. Naturally, we enjoy these kinds of glorified revenge stories because they are EMOTIONALLY APPEALING and CATHARTIC, which brings to my next point. These revenge stories often serve as power fantasy for escapism, soothing our fears/vulnerability and appeals to our egos. Most of the examples I listed above do just that. One of the reasons why so many people find TLOU 2’s revenge approach so controversial was because it did not intentionally make us feel powerful. This was already demonstrated after Abby kills Joel. The real change and growth for Abby was when she chooses to help Lev and Yara. Vengeance did not make either Ellie or Abby powerful, only further damage to them emotionally and their relationships (something a lot of people seems to have a hard time to accept). There was nothing wrong with indulging with romanticized revenge power fantasies (I know I enjoy occasional good old fashioned glorified revenge stories), so you might ask what’s wrong with these formulas. Most people might say nothing, but I beg to differ. Typical glorified revenge stories formulas has left us some potentially damaging effects in terms of perceptions. These stories are telling us that revenge is the answer, its cool to slaughter your enemies standing in your way in a stylish fashion, and you will find peace if you kill the person who enacted the injustice against you. The problems is that this typical formula in revenge stories can give us false misleading notions of how humans’ psyche works. But a further potential problem can arise is when people think that glorified revenge acts (killing the wrong doer anyway) can be replicated in real life. If something unfortunately as catastrophic as what happened to you like those examples or like Ellie/Abby, here are my questions. Is real life revenge glorified like movies/games? Will I feel better if I kill the person who wronged me? Will I walk away without consequences (external or internal)? If yes, then ask yourself “Do I want to find out? Can I afford to find out? If you ask me, I pray we don’t. No matter who you are, where you are, your circumstances, I hope you don’t find out. And unfortunately in the real world, there were already too much people who had to find out the hard way. While the desire of vengeance is a very human feeling, it is not an experience that we should ideally experience (especially with the desire to kill the wrongdoer for killing a loved or a situation with similar gravity). I did not realize this before, but I learned another aspect of why we gravitate towards glorified revenge power fantasy. The reason we enjoy those stories is because they play off an important aspect of us human beings, our addiction to justice. By natural instincts, we would feel pleasure (dopamine) when we right wrongs and people who crave justice, this feeling, can become addicted to justice. We feel this way because as humans beings, we are social creatures and we lived in groups for 2 million years. Naturally, it’s our instinct to exclude people who deviate or act differently from our groups. These people can includes like a murderers, abusers, criminals, terrorists, rapists, narcissists, etc (although this perspective may vary based on cultures). This addiction to justice can be seen in real life as well. For example, a criminal convicted of murder stands before trial and we would get a sense of that dopamine rush when justice is served or even better…killed for their crimes (and sometimes, what better ways of sense of justice than from the hands of the victim’s loved ones). In a twisted way, many perceive revenge as a form of justice, which is not an uncommon mentality. Typical revenge stories does just that because it provides a sense catharsis when justice was served against the wrong doer in those stories. Also also, it is easier to indulge that sense of justice and catharsis for what I call “side viewer/audience” instead of the victims of the wrongdoer. Often times, the victims of the wrong doer was in a lot of pain because of the wrongdoer’s deed, like a father confronting a murderer tried at court. For us the side viewer it would feel more satisfying when the murderer was brought to justice or killed (something like a spectacle), but for that father he would still be in pain. We side-viewers may often get too caught up in our own desire feeling better of ourselves and overlook the victim’s. That is what a lot of people felt and wanted in TLOU 2 and even those examples I pointed out above. This “side-viewer” mentality can also be applied to Tommy when he guilt tripped Ellie to resume chasing Abby. He obviously did not consider the emotional toll it had on Ellie and was a “side viewer” in Ellie’s revenge situation. Same goes for Manny when he spits on Joel’s corpse. It’s easier for him to digest the situation of revenge than Abby since he is NOT the one being truly hurt by the loss. There is still more to say on other stuffs, but I will make separate comments. If you can, see if we can refrain from engaging in another battle of this war.
Bro I've thought deeply about this game so much that sometimes I feel like there is nothing left to uncover, but I'm always proven wrong with time. This is one of the reasons I love this game so much, there is always something to uncover, always another way of seeing things. Beautiful essay btw
Ok I got to stop you their idk if you have seen a little thing called naruto which basically does the same thing as the last of us 2 but better in every way by relating it to a semi real world issue and actually showing the consequences of revenge, btw Abby had no consequences for her revenge
Highest selling game of all time. On a single platform. This game is life changing. The story, the graphics. Every single detail was painstakingly thought out. Bravo to Naughty Dog!! This will forever be my favorite game. I'm also #TEAM ABBY
I love this last of us part 1 and 2, finished both of them numerous of times I still think about both of them daily and even just listen to their soundtracks on my phone from time to time, both are fucking masterpieces.
I've played through part 2 twice now. Still think the writing, pacing, and overall storytelling were such a letdown from the first game. I will hand it to part 2 for the graphics and the gameplay though. They were stellar!
100% agree. I only just got through my second playthrough. This game is far from perfect, however it still has great aspects and you have to respect it as a whole
This was a very definitive video. It said everything it needed to say without sounding preachy or heavily biased or whatever. Every piece of media has a video or written essay that perfectly explains a title from a certain perspective that people can go to, as for The Last of Us 2, I think people should come here! Well done man, you should be very proud of what you've made!
I love this game and game series so much and honestly I do not care what anyone has to say about it. My opinions and views of this masterpiece shouldn't and doesn't affect anyone's lives in any way shape or form so any negativity sent my way for the way I feel about it is null and void in my mind. Just because you have a certain opinion on it is your right as a human being just as much as it is mine to absolutely love this game. With that being said, i love your content and keep up the good work brother. Much love.
I feel similarly AP, and was moved by the game long after its conclusion. I think an important, but perhaps underappreciated aspect of this, was the musical score by Gustavo Santaolalla. The music seems to reflect some of the primary themes of the game; loss, grief and the futility that is the cycle of violence. There are also other pieces, particularly those which are used for scenes between Abby and Owen, which reflect a tenderness that can still exist in this broken world. Thanks for the video.
At first, I had a lukewarm response after playing the game. I didn’t know what to feel because it’s not what I expected. Though, I understood what the game was doing and I felt okay with the ending. Then, during my 2nd play-through, everything clicked and it then became my favorite game of all time, tied with TLOU1. I think the haters of TLOU2 refuse to entertain the Abby side of everything, leading them to then think Joel’s death was bad, Ellie was screwed over, etc etc. But you put it best- it’s not a story I expected to get, but it’s a story I needed to experience.
I waited two full years to play this game because everyone dragged it so bad, so glad I finally picked it up. No game has ever sent me on a roller coaster like that. Both games are masterpieces.
I think most stories in this game address the issue of obsession with love and/or hate. Even the side stories on the scattered notes, like the one about Boris, the clicker-hunter who seeks revenge on the WLF for killing his daughter, but his friends turn on him because they’re too scared of what the WLF might do in return. It’s also reflected in Lev’s story about his mother, when he went to Scar Island to try to reconcile with her, despite Yara’s warnings and the fact that the island became a war-zone. This issue is also reflected very heavily in the Naruto anime series, specifically with the Uchiha clan. Madara started succumbing to darkness after his brother died, and resorted to trying to cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi (which is a very terrible thing). Obito succumbed deeply into darkness after witnessing the death of Rin, the girl he loved, and also resorted to the terrible quest of Infinite Tsukuyomi. Nagato, who had Uchiha blood secretly transplanted in him, resorted to becoming Lord Pain, because of Danzo sabotaging the peace treaty, which led to the death of Yahiko, Nagato’s best friend. and finally, Sasuke. Because of Danzo’s massive outcasting of the Uchiha clan, and later ordering Itachi, Sasuke’s brother, to slaughter them all, Sasuke became obsessed with getting revenge on Itachi, and after learning the truth, he wanted to destroy the Leaf Village.
during the last two weeks i played both parts for the first time. after finishing the last of us, i simply could not stop and jumped right into part two. i absolutly loved the first one. the gameplay, the setting, a story with many great characters and of course joel and ellie them selfes. it was such a great experience to play through. ..and then part two came. wow, what a ride. it is a lot. i mean, wtf just happend? it really is a lot to go through. never befor i got killed in a boss fight because i didn't want to press a freaking butten anymore because of the fear it could end the fight with another huge loss. for me, part two is more than just a great sequel. it's the greatest and most intense story i've ever experienced in a game. and, it is a lot more.
Last of Us Part II gave me so many emotions, so much more than any other game or media ever gave me. I will never forget my first time experience. Being just - empty after Joel's death. Being so happy in the museum flashback - I was smiling from start to finish, with a tear in my eye after the spaceship scene from the underlying sadness to no more moments like this will happen. And the shock from the last fight with Abby - who wins, who dies, I don't want any of this... And the last talk between Ellie and Joel. I was holding in my breath in pure excitement of what will happen. Then the happiness that Ellie is willing to try forgiving Joel's actions... Then the overwhelming sadness when I realized that this was actually their last time talking. Seeing Joel get teary eyed, holding back his tears of happiness, coughing and say 'Yup.'. I just burst out crying. Like I cried in the first game's intro too, but this - this part was a thousand times more impactful for me. Never cried this hard from any other game, not even movies came close to it... I wish I could experience it again for the first time, but then again: I just finished my 4th playthrough, and I keep finding new things, keep finding new emotions from already familiar scenes... I will never ever forget the Last of Us Part II.
I agree with you that TLOU2 made me feel things I've never felt in any other medium. My first playthrough, when Joel got killed...I stopped playing for a couple days. It was just too heavy for me with everything else I had going on at the time. Ive done 4 or 5 playthroughs, and still I cant just pick it up and play casually. It pulls me into the world everytime, and I get melancholy and introspective. Its a powerful thing. Thats what makes it so great to me.
Happy 2 year anniversary of The Last of Us Part II! This is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I still remember first seeing a let's play series of it when it came out, and then I played it for myself in late 2020. This is Naughty Dog and Neil Druckman's magnum opus and really is an experience that I will never forget.
I love Last of us part 2 , there was simply no better way to engage the audience like in this game and I love that naughty is not afraid to take risks and that's what makes there games incredible and so unique
Thank you for this video, i think of this game every day as well. Just made my 4th full run and i already want to go back. It's a perfect game and it also took me time during the first run to digest the story. I get emotional again and again and the level of detail is amazing. Thank you naughty dog!
Such an amazing video I love your passion for TLOU as a whole. I’m a massive fan and I’m glad to see people like you as interested and invested in these types of storytelling in video games because there’s too many people out there who always will say and stay biased about video games calling them wastes of time and only watch movies instead. TLOU is as good as a great movie or even better. Story driven video games are movies that can be controlled and I hope these types of games continue and don’t get lost in multiplayer non story driven games these days.
For those that love this game [The Last Of Us Part2] I think it shows just how much you have loving and forgiving heart. Not only that but also a mind that is not easily Influenced by the masses.
Very well said my friend!!! I thought this game was amazing! I thought it was an incredible way to tell an absolutely heartbreaking yet thoughtful story!! To make you understand where both sides were coming from. To make you care for both sides and to understand how wrong their revenge was. And to show the audience why it had to end! I was like you I was pissed they made us play as Abby. But once you understand why hits you like a Mack truck. It’s easily in my top 5 games of all time. And probably my #1 just because of that aspect it teaches you!!!
👍👍👍 Love this game. The last few months running up to launch were crazy. Never ever had i been so hyped and excited. I kept away from all spoilers like they were the plague. Man the emotions playing this for the first time were off the charts!! Every emotion known to man were felt. Happy 2 year anniversary and i really hope to play part III some day. Cant wait for September 2nd as well. Great video again 👏
Love or hate this game, you cannot deny it is a true masterpiece. No other game has ever come close to telling this type of realistic story telling. These characters are like real people. In the story telling, graphics, animations, movement, they are brought to life. I loved this game. I love The Last of Us. I cannot wait for the Remake. Hopefully we get to relive the beauty of the first game but with Part ll’s gameplay.
I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who had a different emotional journey in this game. As relatable as Joel was in part 1, what he did in the end made me lose my respect for him. It’s not just that he screwed over the world, but also in robbing Ellie of her rightful choice, despite knowing what she’s going through, and lying to her face. To me, Ellie was right to be pissed off, but I also started losing respect for her in that Nora moment. I found Abby much more relatable, and her redemption journey felt very deep for a character that wasn’t seen in previous games. I hope part 3 gives Ellie a redemption journey, because she right now desperately needs it.
I admit I was on the hate bandwagon for this game at the start but I grew to love it. I'm glad I rose above it and had a great time in the end. I'll be doing a second playthrough on my PS5 (60fps, yuuuuussssss) soon to get the platinum!
This game is incredible. It's amazing how triggered people (still!) get when you say this game is good. Normally, you get attacked on the internet for saying something is bad. With this game, it's the other way around. So bizarre. This game kind of made it hard for me to enjoy other survival horror games that are less meaningful
Goddammit you made me tear up with this. My experience was very similar to yours the first time I played it (even though my anticipation for it was through the roof at the start), and me experience such intense emotions that I truly felt that this game was the most significant experience of my life in 25 years. It is a feeling that can never truly be replicated, but I will never be able to thank Naughty Dog enough for giving me this masterpiece. I think the remake of part I will surpass the original, and might even beat part II in terms of quality.
The controversy of TLoU2: People with critical thinking skills like it. While people who can't differentiate between not liking a plot line and bad writing, spewing hate and vitriol.
Such an amazing video! I played TLOU part 2 so many times now that i keep loving it. The game has a lot and the story for this are even more amazing. Gameplay and grapichs was incredible. The biggest reason Why i love the game is that revenge is never the answer and it won't bring back those you love, that it can eat you up from inside and lead you on a dark path that can be hard to get away from if you keep letting the hate consume you. I wasn’t fan of Joels fate, but that wouldn’t made me hate the game for it. So TLOU part 2 is probably my favorite game of all time
This video hit me hard really hard and everything you say is true and its really painful in a way. I just want to say first that i hated this game soooo much that i dont think its was healthy haha. But this video made me Realize what the story was about. Because I stopped playing when I saw Joel die in that way i just was sooo angry and disappointed. And then when I started playing again to the end I felt disappointed. She didn't ever get her revenge but then later shows everything she lost on the way to get revenge. Kind of like joel did a nd what hit me the most that she couldn't play the guitar like joel teach her. And it wasn't a bad story. it really was an emotional experience Whether I want to change it I don't honestly think we'll get a better story. Rest in peace Joel You are an amazing character I wish that we could have gotten more out of you. Thank you for sharing this video it helped me alot
I have played a lot of games, but none have ever affected me the way TLOU2 did. At the started I wanted Abby Dead, then the game made me play as her. I was like "say what", I went out of my way to get her killed in various ways. But as I went through the story arc I began to change the way I viewed her. I began to realize we all see ourselves as the center of everything. But by the end of the game I found my self saying please don't do it Elle, Please don't kill her. The game really hit me on a lot of levels and I pray they make a part three. Cause I have so many questions that are unanswered. Did Abby find the Fireflys? What happened to Tommy? Did Deana go back to Jackson with JJ? Did Ellie go to Jackson to find Deana? all of it!
That’s right every time I tried to have a conversation about this game with people who hated it they end up yelling screaming throwing insults right and left and saying how disgraceful this game is!!! I mean OK you didn’t like it for your own reasons and I get it just calm down.! The fact that you don’t like something doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily bad it’s just not for you and that’s OK. 50% of the players loved it 50% of the players hated it. At the end it’s about perspective and some people need to deal with it!!! Great video by the way!
just finished it yesterday, i had mix feelings with it but i’m glad there was some kind of closure bet joel and ellie when she said she would like to try to forgive him
Controversial in one way due to having movie/TV-plot contrivance, but...like, I feel that's kinda par for the course with how big of a game it's become. It just sort of happens this way a lot of the time. Although, I do have a friend who helped work on this title, so, a bit of bias there _even though_ he himself is not a fan of it, yet wasn't personally subjected to the alleged crunch many of the other employees must have been. Other than that - I, too, have a love for this game
I personally love the game and it means a lot to me but i think that it dos not need af 3rd part. I of course hated abby but maby not as much as u. But i understand why u would hate her so much to stop playing the game couse u startet it op again and played it through, and startet to understand abby. And my favorite thing about TLOU would 100% be the musik and how it makes me feel. ❤️
Thanks @APNerds for your content ! I as many have been changed by this game, I love listening people talk about it, and I'd love if you'd continue doing so ! No matter if we loved or hated the game, it is about feelings and emotions and how we deal with those. This game makes us talk about how we hate or love it. In that sense we show more of ourselves and what the game means TO us by expressing our feelings about this game, more than if the game was good or bad. In the end it doesn't matter if it was good or bad, because it makes us talk. And that's the point. For this reason, this game is an incredible work of art, because the subject actualy portrays how we interpret different point of views from our own and how we deal with it. It leaves the audience with the message : be responsible of how you talk to other people who have different perspective than you. What I see is many people are still like in Ellie's shoes during the 1st section of the game. In the way that they are expressing hate and insultes over a constructive and open minded argument. and it shows how we as human are sometimes not able to let go of something we loved dearly, just as Joel, Abby, Ellie and Tommy. We have to let go of our strong emotions and how we express them to others if we want to be together, if we are in a state of violence we are alone in that violence. Only by letting go a part of ourselves, our feelings, will it make us able to be free of anger and lonelyness. We are shown the perspective of Abby to say she is driven by the same hate as one can have when expressing themselves to us. In the story this hate originates form the hate that Joel had when he killed the fireflies because he didn't want his new found daughter to be killed. He was not willing to live again the hate he got against himself for losing his beloved daugther, and it is the same hate that Ellie feels when Joel dies because she actualy loved him so much. How we express ourselves is a part of who we are and everyone is responsible for the social clusterfuck landscape we are in. ----------- The scene where Lev and Abby cross the bridge high up in the sky : on the way up Lev says that our moments of fear are the moments where we can show our true strength. The whole bridge represents what this games challenge's us to do, be respectful to somone we actualy hate with our guts. What is true for you, no one can take that from you, so why hate people for wanting to tell a story a certain way, be better if you will, if you think they wrote bad, show us you can be more respectful than what you claim you received from the writers.
I sincerely appreciate your precise analysis of this game. For me, Last of us 2 is a wake-up call, a soul journey for all emotions residing in a normal human being and the endeavours to transcend. Thanks again. I have subscribed to your channel.
For me, I never liked the story, it’s so hard because the first was so nice. It wasn’t fun to play Abby immediately after her shooting Jesse (a character who wasn’t really involved) and after I thought she killed tommy. You see Ellie be extremely remorseful of harming a pregnant woman, but abby shows no remorse at all. It invalidates her “growth” that she experiences with lev. She doesn’t seem to grow, and is still an evil character. I didn’t like the idea of a cult, because i thought it was slightly generic. I hated that we had to spend 3 hours saving yaras arm just for her to be shot multiple times in the very next part. I thought it was such a waste of a character. Abby felt constantly burdened by lev due to the fact that us playing as Abby always had to go the extra mile to help alleviate or get a gas mask for him. It built up this idea that lev was a horrible inconvenience. And though the game tries to tell you Abby’s “grown” she still tries to kill a pregnant woman, and even rejoices that she’d be able to kill one. It makes us try to kill Ellie as abby, and refuses to give us a choice. The games problem is it assumes we’re just gonna agree and love abby, and hate Ellie, because it expects us to hurt and attack one of the main characters.
I agree with most things in this video, but I never understood the 'pacing issue' argument. Sure the game tests your patience at times, because it makes you play through (sometimes very long) sequence, before it returns to the story beats you are most interested in, but in my opinion it is all purposeful and necessary to tell the story they wanted to tell. The individual gameplay beats are in my opinion remarkably well paced and regularly introduce new themes and elements to the game to keep it interesting and entertaining, which is very hard to do in a game of this type and with this scope.
2 years ago at this exact seccond I was most likely playing this game for the first time and looking back I think the games finale was rushed and I expected a lot more
This game gave me the best experience I’ve ever felt I wish I could erase my memory to feel that again I felt empty when I finished it all my emotions poured out during the experience
Most games I can do a second playthrough but I don't because I get exhausted, you know what I mean except tlou I played 6 times. But this game I haven't done a 2nd playthorught appropriately because I couldn't go through emotional trauma depression and bittersweet moments again in a good sense. This game had a different level 9f emotional impact on my entire life and the way I saw it thus its my best game of all eternity even above tlou 1 .
A few days ago I finished TLOU Part 2. I should say from the start that I didn't play the first part; I watched it on youtube some years ago. Maybe because of this, I wasn't emotionally invested as much as others in the story of the second game. Also, some comments on the internet spoiled some major parts of the story before even considering playing the game. All the divisive opinions made me want to play the game. I am not a fan of post-apocalyptic video games or movies. Moreover, I was kind of scared the game might have horror elements or that it will be too difficult for me. So, after 31 hours it took me to complete the story I say it's one of the best games I have played. The design and the graphics amazed me, they left me speechless in some moments. The story was very good too; it got me through a roller-coaster of emotions. Some parts of Abby's story were too long, but it's ok. There were moments when I felt exhausted and wanted to just finish the game but there were numerous ones that kept me going, wanting to find out what will happen next, and how the story will unfold. For me, it's a story about revenge told through the perspective of two characters. One of them wants to get revenge so she can move on, while the other got revenge and wants to learn how to move on. I believe Abby wanted to protect Lev and Yara because wanted to redeem herself. Deep down felt that killing Joel didn't solve much of the anger inside of her. I don't know if there will be a third part, but I would surely like that Ellie will try to make a cure and save the world. Who knows, maybe with Abby's help. In her last conversation with Joel, she told him that it took away from her the chance that her life would matter. That's why I imagine this would happen in part three. Finally, you made one of the best videos regarding video games, so thank you for your time and dedication!
I don't love this game, but I respect it. The gameplay is a huge improvement...even if the story is nowhere near as good as the first one. Nevertheless, I enjoy hearing you talk about it. Don't stop if you don't want to, haha
I'll keep it short, I really do like TLOU2, it was a needed catharsis to cope with 2020 and the pandemic. But it's not perfect, it's got a lot of flaws from a story perspective, especially because there were areas/ways fans were coming up with much stronger/better ways to tell the story that better serves itself and as a sequel to the first game. If anything, it inspired me to work harder at writing .
Yea the pacing wasn’t really done well. For me I don’t really have a problem with the things that happened but the amount of flashbacks and certain sections of the game can drag. Hopefully they see the feedback and if they ever do part 3, they can use it to pace the game better! Rather have a shorter game but better paced than a long game but it suffers in that aspect.
This game touched me in so many places. I understand the story changed and accept them even if they are not liked amongst the fans. I just wish people wouldn’t base the representation of ND on a single game but that’s my view.
One thing that I don’t see anyone appreciating about both games is how they actually have consequences. In part 1, Joel gets impaled and makes you think he died, in part 2, Joel legit dies. I think however many people give part 2 too much credit because “Yoo Joel died, so dark and mature” which I agree with. The concept of Abby is amazing hands down. The bad is how the story of part 2 rides way too much on coincidences. How did Abby find Joel after years? Oh some dude told her exactly where tommy was. How did tommy know where Abby was? Another random dude told him exactly where. The fact that Ellie managed to find the same boat Abby used was like, bro what?? Another thing is that many hardcore fans of part 2 say “Joel killed too many people he deserved what happened” are the same ones who say “poor Abby” Where Joel, Ellie and Abby are all morally equals.
I agree with there being way to many coincidences to be a well written story. And the manipulative tactics they used for parts of the story. But that is just my opinion
I don't know about other people but for me I just understand why Joel had to die based on the things he did. Nobody's trying to defend Abby we just understand that actions have consequences and Joel's actions had it's consequences also did Abby and Ellie.
And also when it comes to telling a story like this there is always going to be the concept of coincidence and in fact I don't think you can make a story without some form of coincidence. We shouldn't let that be our focus when it comes to this kind of media, instead we should focus on the story itself and what it's trying to say, unless we do that we'll never truly appreciate it for what it is
I don't think either of those things are the big coincidence you think they are. Abby was obsessed with finding Joel for more than four years, She remade her body into a weapon. She undoubtedly interrogated every new person who cam through their territory for information about his. You do that long enough, and you'll find a clue, which leads you to the next and the next. Same with Tommy. You could see when he appeared in Ellie and Dina's house that he was obsessed, and he makes it explicit when he angrily attacks Elli for having moved on. He always talked to newcomers in Jackson anyway, so adding some questions to find out if they'd ever heard anything about Abby was easy. You ask enough people and eventually someone is going to have heard something that turns out to be true. And once he had one or two clues, they would have led him to find the person who knew where she was enough for him to bring his map and his obsession into Elli and Dina's lives, reawakening Allie's obsession.
@@chimaxx I see how both tommy and Abby have an obsession for finding someone. And I can now understand Abby bc tommy knew the WLF, so the fireflies all knew them and it’s maybe common they went there after Joel so yea it makes sense. The Tommy one is a farther reach. Since it’s repeating the same scenario and the farm part was rushed
Everything about this game is just awesome. The music is the best Gaming has to offer and the story is really trying to be different. Only fools would say that this is a normal Revenge story. It has its flaws (storywise too), but its faar away from being a bad game and it just doesnt deserve the hate it gets. This game will forever be in my heart. Do u think they should do another sequel?
Yes this is simply a magnificent game and a great series. I also think about it a lot myself. I've already played through it 3 times and even though I want to do another play through, I'm going to hold off until Last of Us Part 1 comes out September so I could play the entire series from the start.
I'm so glad to see the game getting more love after what happened at the launch! I seriously still think about it to this day! I still can't replay it though... it still hurts!
As a Xbox player my whole life 7 months ago I bought a ps5 and I gotta admit from all the games I’ve ever played the last of us 1 and 2 are now my favourite games I’ve ever played I’ve done them both 4 times now which isn’t a lot but I still can’t get them out my head as now I’m listening to videos about it 😂
I have no disappointment at all to both tlou games, they are both masterpiece, cruel and hard to swallow but it match perfectly with the first game to make a stunning journey like this. I hope people get to understand how shocking this game teach you
I am so surprised to see many had the same experience as me. I hated this game when I first played it. After days of thinking about the story over and over again in my head I realized that the more I thought about, the more it made sense. I played the game for a 2nd time and my opinion completely changed. What I think makes this game so different and controversial is that it doesn’t tell the player the story; it shows the player the story. The game leaves a lot for interpretation which is something most games don’t do anymore and when people don’t have a straight narrative to follow their beliefs become more prevalent than ever. This was definitely not the game I wanted, but it was the game I enjoyed and gave me a message that changed the way I see life. Not everyone will have the same journey as me and that’s why to me this game is masterpiece. A masterpiece doesn’t mean it got everything right but it got its intentions right, and I believe Naughty Dog wanted everyone to come to their own opinion on the story so that they can make it their own.
This game was an emotional rollercoaster. But I loved it to death. Even though I was extremely happy and excited to pick up my Collectors Edition, (and couldn't even wait to go home first to open it lol), it came out when I was going through a dark time in my life. I cried when Jole died, I was balling my eyes out. Every other emotional part in the game, I cried. Heck, i cried while I was just looking around for stuff. Not just because it was a depressing but beautiful game (even thogh that's part of the reason), it's because my life was a mess, and this game helped me get though it. After the end credits finished, my eyes were red, my face was wet, but I had a slight smile on my face. Because it was that good. To have someone like me, having a complete mess of a life, smile, that's saying something about this game. I platinumed it within 3 back to back playthrough. Yes, I put myself I to emaotnal purgatory 3 times in a row, just to get the platinum trophy. And I enjoyed every second of it. It's not my favorite game of all time, (that game goes to Final Fantasy 15, sorry not sorry), but it defiantly is top 5 for me. Possibly top 3.
I just finished playing back to back TLOU Part 1 and Part 2, stayed away for 2 years from all the spoilers for Part 2, so for me Joel's death was a shock, but not as a deep shock like everyone else had (who've been waiting for 7 years for part 2). But the dilemma between playing as Abby and Ellie, forsure was difficult to swallow, especially bashing "yourself" Ellie and worrying, like...I don't want to kill myself how the hell do I play out the part in theater, then worrying how do i not kill Abby as Ellie, so yeah....the game really messes with your head, but totally worth every 1$ spend on it. Cannot wait to see the HBO series and perhaps Part III someday.
people hating this game is not the problem.. the problem lies in the transphobia, misogyny and sexism that followed the release. it made me feel sick that the actress who played abby had to suffer that kind of brutal bullying due to a fictional work of media. no matter what a players personal connection to this game is does not warrant that kind of abuse towards a person playing a literal fake character.
@@crazyinsane500 wow i did not know that abt neil. truly gross. i have not taken a deep dive into the response the game got, everything i know abt it is very surface level and mainly just the response i saw on twitter and youtube which typically were very weird and misogynistic. this gave me a insight on some deeper level stuff that was going on within development and after release
@@crazyinsane500 interesting take and very true that the average enjoyer, such as myself, who does not normally deep dive into the "behind the scenes" stuff so to say of a majority of the media i consume could be easily swayed by the shitload of comments i saw following tlou2 release.
I started my channel in 2020 and my content only concentrates on talking about only video games themselves. I was not aware of the sexual assault that happened in 2017 so questioning me why I don’t mention what happened is absolutely idiotic as many people didn’t even know about it at the time and I can’t just be making videos about that all the time because it’s not what my channel is about, although I’m of course against any sexual misconduct of any form. . I found out about this incident during a livestream I was making long ago and condemned it of course, but after looking up what happened, there was no evidence or even any suggestions of Neil being complicit of it or saying they didn’t do anything or protecting that individual. Of course he fired those who were either protecting the predator and the predator which is not a bad thing. Now if the victim is blacklisted, that ain’t even naughty dog that has the power to do so, ask Sony themselves as they own ND. Ask the suit guys on top instead of a director that had nothing to do with what happened just cause the game was divisive. If he was protecting predators like you previously said, he would’ve been outed a long time ago, same with activision blizzard. Now I’ll give u a last chance… send proof before slandering someone because you are writing essays before giving me concrete proof to back your claims. Where is the evidence that the whole multilayer project was pushed back because of this incident and that Neil was responsible for protecting these people. Can I please for once proof? It’s not so hard to provide if it is true. Plus I wonder why those anti woke and anti nd channels never talked about Neil in this way and what happened in Nd in 2017. There’s things that just don’t go with your claims so please, again for the 3rd or 4th time, show proof. Thanks
@@crazyinsane500 Did Druckmann fuck your wife or something? I've seen communists have less venom towards Reagan compared to what you have towards Druckmann.
On my first play through what you said about the rage and revenge blinding you and making you not care for others was exactly what happened to me and I hated Abby and I hated playing as her. I even shot all of her ammo at the ground and had to do the serpahite part with no ammo lol. I then started loving Abby and then I loved this game. It is truly a masterpiece that you have to think about greatly and the fact it’s this hated hurts my soul.
Haters made me to skip this game totally but I decided not to listen to anybody and just play it. The best decision ever. Part 2 was one of the best games i ever played.

Lol
@@zacrast16 yea don’t listen to it. It’s spam. I’m reporting those accounts.
@@apnerds Thanks. I figured it out on my own. Keep up the good work! You’re awesome man
I got that too.. Just a few mins ago. Almost gave into it lol.. So relieved came to this comment to find out it's a spam.
Please don’t make it your last TLOU2 video. I love all of your TLOU videos and opinions and like you, the game lives rent free in my head at least once a month. Listening to a 30 minute essay about TLOU is always a treat and I will never get bored of your takes
it won't be my final tlou2 video ever for sure :)
I think over time ppl will look back/ play it again and realize how amazing it was
This game is aging like fine wine. More people are comfortable with saying they liked the game so thats great.
SO hard. I’ve thought about it every day since I beat it.
still can't choose between last of us 2 and red dead 2. Both are awesome games.
@@abbawada4185 Red Dead 2 is a masterpiece,10/10. It’s just too long of a game. I prefer 20-50 hour games that are insanely repayable, over 150-200 hour games I’ll never touch again. Even if I loved it. I just don’t have the time. 😂
But one could easily argue that Red Dead 2 is a better game, and it would be fair.
For the longest time, I thought it was just me
Playing through Abby’s perspective gave me a kind of “oh god, what have I done? 😰”
And it’s good to see there are people like yourself who recognize the difference between killing in cold blood and killing out of survival.
I think this game heavily relies on the player liking Abby... Hence why there's such a huge divide between the fan base
Joel Miller: If I were to lose you, I’d surely lose myself.
One of the Iconic lines in the game. It hits hard in real life as well.
The story was fantastic but the pacing threw me off a little but I understood what Naughty Dog was trying to do and I accepted it.
yep, same thing happened to me!
i had this exact same opinion the first time i played through it!
I swear it was the exact same for me
Dude, as a military vet with some decent bouts of PTSD at seriously random times, I've still been trying to make it through part 1 so I can start part 2...
...but yes, it's an amazing game all around.
Welcome home brother … play 2 , Abby will resonate with you personally …
@@SGhosht feels stupid to say how a dumb video game affects you, but...well...here I am.
I finished Tlou1 more than 30 times on my ps3..
hope you one day get the chance to experience part 2 :)
This game is so special to me as it gets older with me every year! ❤️
Felt like Druckman himself did gift me the game for my bday when it was released 😇
it was such an unforgettable experience!
Truly an underrated channel. I definitely had to sub. Happy 2nd anniversary to my favorite game of all time🎉. You explained everything perfectly, that’s definitely some master class writing. Thank you for the video, I loved every bit of it🙏🏽👑!
I’m honored and humbled! I’m glad you enjoyed my video and decided to join this amazing community. Thanks a bunch 🙏🏼
Didn’t make sense…so I stayed away.
I agree with every word you said in this video, I wish those that just trash the game would take a second & think about why the things that happened happened… cause the way you laid it out in the video was perfect, I love this game & it also lives in my head rent free, I’ve replayed this game so many times & I love it more with each passing play through, I might be in the minority here but this is the game I thought I was getting, from the first trailer my thought was “ok so Joel dies & Ellie is going on a revenge tour” even after seeing Joel in the trailers my prediction didn’t change cause as we know with the first game the trailers manipulated us into thinking one way when the game takes you another, happy anniversary last of us 2
Truly an unforgettable experience

I have said this before and at this point I sound like a broken record, but I cannot emphasize enough on this very topic related TLOU 2 so here I go once again (also because my last essay comment got mysteriously deleted, thanks UA-cam!).
Another great essay comment the game was very bold.
Thx for writing a whole book
@@marcoco_ Don't mention it 😁
Bro I've thought deeply about this game so much that sometimes I feel like there is nothing left to uncover, but I'm always proven wrong with time.
This game is so tragic and broken my heart, it's a masterpiece. How vengeance can consume your life. Absolutely can relate
Another masterpiece of a video. Keep it up, you're killing it!
I appreciate it ❤️
This was a very definitive video. It said everything it needed to say without sounding preachy or heavily biased or whatever. Every piece of media has a video or written essay that perfectly explains a title from a certain perspective that people can go to, as for The Last of Us 2, I think people should come here!
Well done man, you should be very proud of what you've made!
Naked Jakey did it better.
Jakey is a goat…plus these videos are opinions…not facts ☺️ just like jakey’s vids
This game is a absolute masterpiece and will live on forever.
Agreed.
during the last two weeks i played both parts for the first time.
after finishing the last of us, i simply could not stop and jumped right into part two.
i absolutly loved the first one. the gameplay, the setting, a story with many great characters and of course joel and ellie them selfes. it was such a great experience to play through.
..and then part two came.
wow, what a ride.
it is a lot. i mean, wtf just happend?
it really is a lot to go through.
never befor i got killed in a boss fight because i didn't want to press a freaking butten anymore because of the fear it could end the fight with another huge loss.
for me, part two is more than just a great sequel.
it's the greatest and most intense story i've ever experienced in a game.
and, it is a lot more.
Without a doubt this game is GOATED. ND is GOATED
I rolled credits about 48 hours ago for the first time and my mind is swimming. I think I loved it.

Last of Us Part II is not the game we (I mean we, gamers in general) deserve, it's the game we need.
Absolutely love Prt2, and I’m not ashamed to admit that.
Loved the video ty for keeping the tlou community alive on youtube! Would love if you did discussion videos for the different characters or factions.
Might do that in the near future
The controversy of TLoU2:
People with critical thinking skills like it.
Did Ellie go to Jackson to find Deana? all of it!
Thank you for making this. I needed it. ❤️
It’s a shameful reality we all gotta deal with and thanks 😊
just finished it yesterday, i had mix feelings with it but i’m glad there was some kind of closure bet joel and ellie when she said she would like to try to forgive him
Controversial in one way due to having movie/TV-plot contrivance, but...like, I feel that's kinda par for the course with how big of a game it's become.
I 100% agre with u on all of ur points when making convo about TLOU. When talking about what u think of the game am about 85% with u.
love the vid
-----------
The scene where Lev and Abby cross the bridge high up in the sky : on the way up Lev says that our moments of fear are the moments where we can show our true strength.
I think the the last of us part 2 is just too deep for most people…
For me, I never liked the story, it’s so hard because the first was so nice.
This is my favorite game. a masterpiece
2 years ago at this exact seccond I was most likely playing this game for the first time and looking back I think the games finale was rushed and I expected a lot more
Agreed.
This game had a different level 9f emotional impact on my entire life and the way I saw it thus its my best game of all eternity even above tlou 1 .
big ps fan here bro. Lov the vids. I just beat death standing on pc and waiting for the last of us remake to pc. 💙
Tlou remake on pc gonna look 🔥🔥🔥
I love both last of us games and I want a part 3.
Agreed!
What would the story even be in the third
@@rukitlas7130 easy … the arch that the story is based on hasn’t been solved yet … Ellie is immune
I had to watched your video again for the 3rd time…
This was the greatest game ever made!!
There’s no more debate! Unless they drop a Part III …. 😏
I love both games they both are some of the greatest games I ever played
without a doubt
Yes this is simply a magnificent game and a great series. I also think about it a lot myself. I've already played through it 3 times and even though I want to do another play through, I'm going to hold off until Last of Us Part 1 comes out September so I could play the entire series from the start.
Thanks for another great video🤝🏽
Thanks ❤️
Thanks for having me gang
Thanks for coming on bro. It was an honor to hear your say on this game!
you are one of the elite my friend. only the strongest of the open minded can respect this experience of a game in it’s entirety. 💙
I love your videos man, good video, the Last of Us Part 2 is my favorite game of all time
i appreciate it so much :)
I'm so glad to see the game getting more love after what happened at the launch! I seriously still think about it to this day! I still can't replay it though... it still hurts!
As a Xbox player my whole life 7 months ago I bought a ps5 and I gotta admit from all the games I’ve ever played the last of us 1 and 2 are now my favourite games I’ve ever played I’ve done them both 4 times now which isn’t a lot but I still can’t get them out my head as now I’m listening to videos about it 😂
This game is not easy to sit through but does show a lot of things well when it comes to people and it's interesting to see this.
It's a great game. All the emotions I felt going through it.
This game is absolutely Masterpiece no doubt about that🔥🔥🙌
Gotta agree to be honest👍!
I love it I just started playing it again after about a year and a half. It's so good.
Keep em coming, this shouldn't be your Last of Us 2 vid, take a break sure, but not your last. Would love to see more💯
I won’t be my last tlou video. I’m just gonna talk about other games alongside tlou content
I just finished playing back to back TLOU Part 1 and Part 2, stayed away for 2 years from all the spoilers for Part 2,
so for me Joel's death was a shock, but not as a deep shock like everyone else had (who've been waiting for 7 years for part 2).
Can you provide proof of Neil protecting a sexual predator? It’s always good to provide evidence when claims like these are made about others.
The only thing that pisses me of about this game is that I can't play it for the first time again.
Haters made me to skip this game totally but I decided not to listen to anybody and just play it. The best decision ever. Part 2 was one of the best games i ever played.
