The DigiTech FreqOut Natural Feedback Creator allows you to get sweet, natural feedback at any volume, with or without distortion. The FreqOut is perfect for situations where volume must be controlled like in the studio, with in ear monitors, or low-volume performance and practice. However, the FreqOut can also be used at gig volume to focus out-of-control feedback on a preferred harmonic at any stage position.
There's a bunch of demos on UA-cam with people trying to use this pedal while playing classic rock and blues rock. It "sort of" works in that context, but this demo is the best at showing the numerous possibilities of this unique pedal. I'm looking forward to using the one I recently scored.
I want to get it to try and use it to re-create that Green Day brain stew kind of plunks screechy feedback sound from the guitar solo, also the Queen “we will rock you” guitar solo
Instant jimmy hendrix, but this pedal is nothing without other pedals to compliment it.
I've been watching your pedal demos for years, and this is amongst the best of them. Not only the variation, but the practicality with which you've displayed this effect is remarkable. Thanks for this one.
Awesome demo Mike... been wanting to hear this demo'd properly since it came out... amazing pedal - definitely gonna have a place on my board 👍🎸
Your demos always show there's more to discover than just what the effect was made for ... Sold ! :)
This demo is fantastic! Really shows what this pedal can do. Thanks for the inspiration!
Excellent demo Mike, really good. It sounds the whole time like you were having fun.
Yeah!! I was looking forward for your demo of this pedal!! Thanks!!
I've had a hankering for one of these for quite a few years but having just heard what you've done with it and how
you can pull lots of subtle overtones and not just full on feedback, I'm even more inspired!
This will definitely be my next purchase as soon as I can raise the funds for it😊
Very musical demonstration of what this pedal can do. Thanks!
wowowow super cool fantastic demo, Mike, I totally love it!!!
This pedal is my old dream come true, goodbye eBow or Sustaniac pickup!
I'll get one :)
Awesome demo 😳. This is a must have pedal. Digitech will sell millions of this pedal.
Mark Roddy thanks
totally bought this pedal because of this demo. can't wait for it to ship in
This gizmo was made for you. With it, your clean, tight style gains some dirt. It is okay to be dirty sometimes. As always nicely done.
watched lots of FreqOut demos highlighting its great ability to emulate amp feedback tones--but wow, you also managed to squeeze out some convincing high & low synth sounds with it too! Never heard Freq sound like that before, bravo.
Randy Alberts thanks! Is a really cool pedal
It freaked me out!
especially 5:48 as well as the last one are great
*Amazing demo ! Check it out ! **ua-cam.com/video/7I14asXpk_Y/v-deo.html*
*Great cover ! See that !**ua-cam.com/video/7I14asXpk_Y/v-deo.html*
Wonderful video Mike! One of your best. Thank you!
cfgarner1 thanks for the kind words
Your demos often make me consider new uses for a pedal. This would make a great alternative to an e-bow!!!
John Horne thanks! I love the ebow. The Freqout is cool because you can play normally, then hold a note and your in ebow land.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I love my ebow but this freqout pedal would make string changing much easier ! I spose it takes a bit of the skill out of it but hey... I wonder what would happen if you used both at the same time. Mike? :o)
@@SONGSTICKS Did you end up having both? I'm debating between ebow and this pedal
@@fishermanryan I already have an Ebow and I'm still looking out for a freqout on Ebay that I can afford, but they seem to hold their price, So no luck as yet. I would say that the Ebow is good for nice mellow string and synthy sounds, especially using a slide as well and the Freqout I imagine would be best for full on screaming metal as well as subtle sustaining harmonies, but until I get one to experiment with, that's just a guess :O)
@@SONGSTICKS Thanks for the reply! I think the only way for me to decide is to order both and then sell/return the one I like less, I just found a great deal for the Freqout on Reverb, $108 new!
this is really nice tone tool. Thanks for great video Mike :)
Mato Misik thanks for watching it!
Wow, I feel like I've waited my whole life for this pedal. So great to be able to get sustain with or without distortion of any kind. This just has to be one of THE coolest and most useful pedals to come out, ever. As Usual, great video Mike.
Boss came out with the super feedbacker and distortion (df-2) pedal decades ago.
you have really nice grooves in this demo
I was disappointed..until I found out this needs to be FIRST in the signal chain. The Only way to use it. I love it now..finally
I'm usually not into the gimmicky stuff, but this thing is very cool. Digitech has been killing it the last few years with unique pedals and the reintroduction of DOD. Awesome demo, Mike!
I was thinking about getting the EHX Freeze... this one's interesting...hmmm?
EHX SuperEgo is also an option!
Yeah, the SE is the larger, more expensive option... tempted.
this is the coolest pedal demo I've ever seen. You have just affected my bank account in a negative way
thats an incredible sounding beast!!!!!
great! excellent demo!
Awesome Mike, as usual!
Evgeny Odyukov thanks
What a beautiful piece of music. Would love to see a tutorial on that with tab.
Brilliant music for this demo....
I really like mine. It's a bit limited, but loads of fun ! The Freqout makes me want to freak out...... and I did. Inspired me.
exelente efecto para guitarra de lo mas interesante que e visto hace tiempo
Excelente Review uno de los mejores
This pedal is too cool. Great video
evrardmusic thanks for watching. Yeah, this pedal is amazing.
If only had this in the day !
Best demo. Thanks
Great stuff!!
Good lord this sounds fun
Gotta have this
Very GOOD demo Mike! 👍
I have the impression this stompbox has a partial identical features like E.H.POG2.🤔
Ok, gotta make room on the board for this one!
Very beautiful performance, sounds like tommy Guerrero
Thank you for a very convincing demonstration.
Quick question: in the pedal chain, where did you place the FreqOut? Before all the others (distortion, modulation, etc.)?
nice this will make a great addition to my rp-500 and whammy dt :)
+Mike Hermans how do you power this pedal? Does it work with any power supply, or do you need a special one specifically made for the freqout? I've heard it's 9v 300mA, is that correct?
Great Demo, even after 6 years. Where would you put this in your signal chain? I would bet very first or very last?
Fun fun fun!
What gauge stings on that strat? And are they flatwound? Thanks
If this one was available when Harrison recorded Revolver, we would all be in acid right now
what drive effect/pedal are you using at 1:05 ??
Ok, so can I use this in the loop of my Headrush to make it sound and feel more like a real amp? I love everything about the Headrush except the lack of feedback. We run a silent stage setup and I have just learned to compromise. Why the hell doesn't every modeller have this built in? The first company that does it will sell millions of them!
Dude. Wow.
Mike - do you ever tour ?
It would be very interesting hear someone using it on Steve Vai's Wispering A Prayer, Nobody have done that yet. Probably won't cut it.
what's the tune on 01:53?
it's amazing
Holy balls! That is all.
Where does it go in the signal chain please?
What about that Fender Runway Sustainer pedal?
Dude, that riff at 1:04... wow.
Thanks!
@@popintothechemist really, this is solid 5-star OK Computer music. Please tell me you have produced this into something. If not, I'm going to for you. The world needs this record more than ever.
What drum fx are u using?
Sold! What is the distortion with the black strat 4:50? Awesome playing as always!
Hiekkamestari that's a 6 degrees rv3
Better pre or post distortion?
Uber COOL!
Is it like a fernandes sustainer on a pedal?
Mike, would you put this in your effects loop, or in front of the amp?
I've heard it can work in an effect loop..or first in signal chain wich may be better..
All of this in a compact size....my pedal board will grab it like a black hole!...Amazing player Mike ;D
A dedicated dry out would have been perfect
You cost me money every single demo.✌️
I'm glad I'm rich and that my amazing talent totally justifies another pedal! Obviously no reason to practice til this one arrives or I just have to relearn everything.
spoke from my soul lol. The gigs and recognition will sure come by themselves once our pedalboards are finally complete.
preaching to the choir.
Ben Ma... I don’t know.... gigs and recognition are coo... but music to me has become more about doing it because I love it and getting as good as I possibly can. I went to music university and the gigged and did all that and I happier now working a normal job and playing hours and hours after work and on the weekend. Years ago there wasn’t all of these awesome pedals and it’s inspired me to get back to 5 hour practice sessions and now I’m better than I ever was. Gigs or no gigs I’ll always love guitar and playing no matter what. Plus, gigging could be a real pain in the ass. Lugging equipment around, staying out all night, the unhealthy bar lifestyle. It has its up and downs.
@@jordandangelo180 He was joking
@@jordandangelo180 I’m sure you realize by now that the comment is meant to be a joke, but your comment reminded me of a T-shirt from years ago that read: “I don’t play the guitar because I play well, I play the guitar because I love playing guitar.”
Get one before theyre gone because these are unique pedals
Drums are Cool. Vst or real?
need to break out the violin bow on my les paul with this thing.
I. WANT. ONE.
This is how you make a pedal video, im tired of having to skip through a ten minute video for five seconds of play
I know!
Well, I came here for a dynamic, transparent overdrive that is like an extension of my amplifier and won't colour my tone.
Well, this pedal isn't an overdrive at all
Does this sustain full chords?
evrardmusic no. It grabs the loudest or sometimes it's random. Kinda cool...
@Leon Carlo Unfortunately, you have to step on the pedal to freeze it, then unfreeze it....
The Superego works better for that kind of use, especially with the auto mode. It's kinda dry sounding without additional effects in its loop, though.
And I'm finally considering buying a Superego (or technically, _trying_ to buy one).
1:25 it says Infinate sustain ..... This is just sales marketing terminolgy, A Buyer will be lucky if he can get more than 20 seconds out of a sustaining note on this pedal.
Hi, I like your demo and I bought this pedal, but I spent 4 full days to set up as your and another demos I did not get any sound close to yours. Now I doubt is it my pedal defective or advertise trick.
Ky Van make sure the Freqout is before all other pedals. If you put it after your overdrives, it will not work...
Thanks for your response, I am very appreciate. I did, and test with only this pedal also but no sustain and before it drop some noise appears also. I changed onset, gain type only 1 result and no sustain, if gain high flute sound hi, if low flute sound low
It sounds kinda like a theramin
Yummy
1:20
Sounds like something JEFF BECK uses
If your fretboard could talk, it would be saying, 'feed me (oil) !!'
No-one tells you that it doesn't come with a power supply! Nor does it take batteries. Be warned!
@EntAsAlways If they are able to be battery powered, of course, this wouldn't be a problem. The Freqout, however, not only needs an external PS (it can't be run on batteries), it needs a 1.3amp PS - something that is not very common. Digitech, of course, will supply one as an "optional" extra... like as if having a power supply is an option.
@@simonwilliams6016 The Freqout doesn't require a 1.3A power supply - their recommended power supply (sold by them, of course) simply has a 1.3A maximum output rating. The pedal itself only draws ~235mA. All you need is a 9V, DC, centre negative power supply that can supply ~250mA minumum, which is not uncommon at all.
Which is why they don't include one in the box, as the vast majority of people using pedals are using a supply with multiple outputs already. Most of which can handle this pedal, no issue.
Maybe at least ask someone who knows better before posting BE WARNED about something you have no clue about dude.
What rubbish, sounds nothing like Chic
Agreed.Nile Rodgers used hyperclean strat tones..maybe compressed and run direct. And a thin copper pick.
