I told my wife, “No more pedals. I don’t need any more.” Dammit, Henning. It’s all your fault! 🤨
By her something nice! You'll be glad you got this pedal. I saved some $ and bought mine used.
This pedal is amazing. I want to add a second one, so I can have one set to Natural Hi and the other to Natural Lo.
I've had one of these for a year or so, and I adore it! I play through a Helix at very low levels and it reproduces that crazy feedback you get from a big, cranked-up amp perfectly. I hope they don't stop making these in case mine quits!
This looks genuinely useful! I actually would like this peddle!
Thank you for your content! I really like how this thing goes from a feedback to something aproximating an E bow.
The single best guitar pedal in history.
Except for Univibe and wah..put all 3 together..
Nah metal zone better
Henning! This is hands down the best demo video I've seen on this insanely underrated pedal! Bravo sir!
Great demo - you showed what it can do not just how you can play. Thank you. This pedal is on my list now!
I first saw Robert Baker using one, about a year ago. I really wanted one and then completely forgot about it, until your last video on the feedback plug-in, funnily enough.
Great demonstration on this pedal, have been studying pedal on various videos and your demo is the nearest to how it would benefit me, there are a lot of ways to express feeling in a tune with this pedal, so without further thought I have ordered one based on hearing how you used it, great and soulful playing EytschPi42
Man, we are really digging this! We will definitely be sharing your video on our socials soon!
more coming....
Damn! Now I've got to buy yet another pedal! You're making some seriously cool sounds with that thing.
I've had a FreqOut for about a year and it's one of my favourite pedals by far. I run it through a Red Panda tensor on a high random setting with the dry off on the FreqOut, then stick it through loads of delay and reverb, crazy sounds.
Amazing pedal, nicely presented. Well done! =)
Love your videos! Thanks for making those kind of video.
I love your reviews! And I decided I need this pedal in m life!
I remember when Premier Guitar first reviewed this pedal and checked out their demos, then it was debuted at NAMM shortly after that. In person that pedal was even more amazing. IMO the best pedal to come out these last two years. Not only is it controllable, and great for when you’re not near your cab, but also for when you are playing at a venue that keeps yelling at you to “turn it down” (and you’re down so low you can’t even generate the feedback you want anymore). Now you can, at low volume, and even with cleans. I hope DigiTech can right their ship and keep things going. They’re one of the top brands for pedals out there!
Yeah, I gotta get this pedal! This would be great for recording.
Wish it could do polyphonic feedback, all strings at once.. Been using one for some years. Provides quick and fun solution at low volume environments.
Mika turned me onto the FeqOut. And now I know how it reeeally works :) Thanks ;)
I was using my Freqout last night...so fun! Not that I needed it through the AC-30 CC2 i just got back from the shop...but on command feedback is awesome!
And at any volume on your amp is nice too!!!
Great review. This review reminds me of the old ones that you use to with Moritz years ago.
Saw demos of this pedal a while back and it didn't convince me but you may have make me give it a try.
I was 75% sold on this, then I ordered one after watching you do ‘exactly’ what I wanted it to do. Thank you :)
Awesome!
I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's exactly what I was looking for. I was impressed by Blue Cats VST, in the NAMM video, but I rather wanted something "real". I've never heared about this pedal, so thank you Henning, once again!
Edit: Where do I have to put it in the signal chain for the best results?
Very odd... I had just seen this afternoon the GuitarGuitar vídeo on Pete Thorn’s rig for Glasgow and heard about this pedal for the first time!! Even went as far as check it in Thomann and add it to the shopping cart for a later date....now your video on the exact same day... I’m pulling the trigger and ordering one NOW!!!
That tiger swimming in Steve Vai's kryptonic energy looks cool as fuck with that absolutely gorgeous guitar!!! The pedal.... so musical, maybe this week I go get one ❤ Why, because Papa Pauly said so 🤷♀️
It’s a great pedal! My demo of it sucks but don’t hold that against the pedal! Nice job!
awesome pedal!!
Duuude !
That song was friggin stellar !
Naw fer real
this is about how it sounds frequently in heaven . Lofty Lift there !
I've been using one for several years now. I don't know how I ever recorded music without one. It's brilliant. Pete Thorn has one on his pedalboard, so there you go. Good enough for him, good enough for me. I highly recommend trying a very clean sound - so cool to get feedback and sustain from a CLEAN guitar tone. Sounds very similar to Zappa's "Zoot Allures". Try it!
It’s crazy the many things you can do with one!
Follow up to this comment - anyone know what's going on with Digitech? If I ever break my FreQout, it seems like I won't be able to replace it. Might have to just get an Ebow.
Greateytsch pedal demo for the freqs out there!! 👍😁😉
Zoot Magic indeed.
Sir Henning indeed, just sold me another one, with his much loved humour and skilful presentation/playing.
One man band/show best on YT.
this looks like it could very useful for synthesizer lead sounds as well
Sold! I just put my order in! thanks
Ooh... Love that top 🙂
What a great name for a pedal
I hear Vangelis. Nicely done Henning.
very nice and usefull stomp!
What a pedal !!!!!!! Awesome !!!!!!
Excellent review - what was that sound tract on the "animals" at the end? Really nice song. Sure did have a James Taylor feel.
My cat really like the dry off mode. 😁
Very enjoyable 😎
I really thought you‘d stand in front of a cab and feedback the feedback to create feedbacky chords :D But I really want this pedal now anyways!
Well... Thanks to our King getting crowned I got a coronation gig that I got paid 200 quid for and before the missus could spend it for me, I went straight online and ordered a Freqout pedal 😊
Still waiting for it to be delivered so I'm watching more youtube vids in the meantime.
Killer! I want one...
Ah ah there was one FreqOut on Reverb Canada I was lurking... Since your video, it's gone! :)
That's kind of cool 👍😁
I NEED IT!!!
By the way, the thing with the new distributor, does this mean that this line of pedal will still be made ? because the digitech obscura was on my list and thomann told me it is now discontinued, i'm scared this will happen to all of the digitech line very soon, maybe i'm wrong.
It would be nice to see if u could get the feedback in the solos of Affair of the Heart, and There's A Stranger in my House
Helix has one of these I believe.
Nice! Thinking of Going to a modeler and wondering how to deal with feedback since that's such a large part of my sound. This might do it. (A blend knob for th he dry would be preferable to a switch but oh well. Maybe can mod it.)
Sadly, they're up to $240 now.
I want one badly
That's damn cool.
I feel inspired. I'm going to take a great noisy exciting pedal and use it to make music to accompany dollar store unicorn pictures.
9:46 I thought you were gonna break out into Steve Vais Halo Leadlines...
Right
I am new to this stuff and this is my first pedal.
I was actually surprised that it didnt come with a power supply and now I dont know which one I need to get lmao.
Is there some delay in the mix? I would love to see Midi in it.
The feedback could last a little longer but apart from that, super fun
Maaaan. Another for the list. I'm going to need a bigger house at this rate.
This is perfect for playing Adventures in a Yorkshire landscape by Bebop deluxe (search it, you won't regret it. epic solo).
I have to admit I though this pedal was a bit gimmicky when I read about it. after hearing it I can only say HOLY CRAP!!! This replicates what I miss about the big amp/cabs on stage era. I am totally getting one.
You are so channeling Zappa there bud
How different does it sound if you plug it in the loop instead of front of the amp?
To bad digitech is not more popular . Great pedals. I remember in the 80’s , DOD ,Digitech and Boss were about the only pedals I could buy .
This is such a useable pedal. I'm trying to keep it a secret! :)
Can this pedal be used with My Line 6 helix? thanks in advance
How about the way it responds to chords and riffs?
Back in the day when i started digitech pedals were pretty damn bad. I had the death metal and while i kinda liked the sound, i was sooooo stupidly noisy. And the bypass was one of those digital clicky thingys so that didn't help either. Never looked at digitech since then, but i think i have to revisit and give them a chance. It always pissed me off that i couldn't get any feedback with ampsims so that thing might be worth buying.
I heard it's a dbx anti feedback thing reversed, and that it does not synth the sound, it uses the guitar sound
Seems like the same effect on my GR55
odd, last night I was wondering why you had not reviewed this yet.
FINE, i was trying not to buy it, but OK you win, i'm buying this right now! 😭
i also bought a whammy 5... omg!
Sounds like intro from Satriani Flying in a Blue Dream
imagine having Meris Hedra in a separate wet-only fx loop feeding its output to two of these pedals, for left and right channel.
15:23 For The Love of God…perfect
Is it transparent enough so I could put 2 or 3 one after the other and chose my harmonic according to how I feel it?
Based on digitech buffers that I know, it should be! Bought mine today and it's coming in 2 weeks.. cant wait to try it
Thyntee Thinkth 😆😆😆😆
Don't judge me for this maybe dumb question:
Does it need crunch or distortion to do the feedback thing? Would be interesting to do it with clean tones.
works great with cleans!
I gotta git me one a dose!!!
Notwithstanding the pricetag of $300 in Oz ... I wouldn't mind one. Nice demo.
Would the freqout extend the sustain with headphones on, too, without sound coming from the speaker?
I wonder how you can extend the sustain of a guitar note without physically affecting the string vibrations with a magnet?
yes, you can also listen to it with your headphones.
Love the Freqout. Can TC brainwave do the things the the DigiTech pedal?
did you not watch the whole video? I talk about that!
@@EytschPi42 guess I'll need watch it again!
Thumbs up for the synthy thingy.....
When did Colonial Klink start doing guitar pedal reviews? 😆😆😆😆
Does it only support momentary or can you use an expression pedal to have more control over the swell?
no expression
i've know about this pedal for quite a while...one of the most underrated pedals in my opining mind
"Feedbacking" is now a word, as it should be.
Needs a footswitch to switch between the different notes on the fly and it would be perfect.
ES-175 in a box
Do I see limitations here? Around 2:37 the feedback just cuts out after a while?
Maybe still better off using an ebow or getting a sustainiac-fitted guitar if you want very long sustaining notes (Or just stand next to a VERY LOUD amp and apply plenty of vibrato, shame that's not an option for some of us - I assume that's how Joe Satriani did "Flying in a Blue Dream"? Or did he already have a sustainiac in 1989? 🤔)
it works by using the dbx feedback supressor's algorithm backwards.
or magic!
Seems to cut out??? During your solo
Cool, maybe the only thing a Kemper can not do (or I have not found it yet)
Formant shift in kemper
@@newo3585 Thanks, I will try it
that shirt is a lovecraftian nightmare.
It's on my wishlist for over a year. Mmh...
Will you demo the new TC "pedal board"? Plethora X5 contraption ??
no, TC doesn’t pay for videos
G'damn.. would have been so nice to get a good in depth review.. but guess they will sell some anyway
Dear God that delay lmfao
I love this pedal except when plugged into my pedal board i get interference so it needs to be plugged in by its self. Its special.
Sounds a bit like Robert Fripp, interesting very!
How can I get shimmer Mode with This pedal?
you dont
Bugger need two of em now gggggrrrrrrrrr 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁. Defo my last pedal buy..............
