Designed as a natural feedback creator at any volume, with or without distortion. Digitech's FreqOut seems ideal for low-volume settings and in the studio. Here’s Nick Jennison to offer some feedback of his own.

I love this pedal since I can't play all to loud where I live, but can engage feedback with this at ANY volume without using a volume pedal, AWESOME. I like to play David Gilmour's Sorrow by Pink Floyd live where he gets feedback that just sings
This is the one pedal that was missing for my DAW-based setup. With some lower-mix for natural, subtle sustain, I finally get the last 10% of my guitar tone inbox.
Nice job Nick, you are one of the greatest players on here. Your mag demo's are pretty insane!
blown away. What a great demo!
*Great cover ! See that !**ua-cam.com/video/7I14asXpk_Y/v-deo.html*
That was really an outstanding demo/review. I'm going to look for some of your other stuff, and maybe investigate your on-line magazine. Thanks!
Fun pedal! Seems a lot like Sustainer technology built into a pedal format - which is great for people that want that effect with vintage gear, instead of having to use a modern metal guitar loaded with a Sustainer. In addition to the Whammy, this may be DigiTech's second "must-have" pedal.
Mike Foss - No, completely different principle. The sustainer lets the strings vibrate and has to be very close to them, whereas the freqout does not effect the strings themselves.
I need this!!!
Excellent review!
“-to offer some feedback of his own” nice
Sweeeeeeet 😊😊
I finally came up with the rubs to buy one of these thanks to King Charles.
I got a Coronation gig that paid me 200 smackers, so I went straight online and ordered me one!
Hasn't arrived yet, but I think it's gonna be worth the wait 🤗
Shit,,, this is a pedal you HAVE to have. I bought one. I'm a happy man
I use a Vox tonelab processor . Will this work on it ?
You use it before or after overdrives??
And before or after Wah?
@@bateriasautosil It has to be the first in the chain.
@@zaphodrahja even before wah?
Anyone who wants to gripe on this pedal has not set the alarm clock for their imagination and creativity this morning.
great playing there dude? Got any UA-cam tutorials done? Could you list your Amp, Pedals and in which order please?
Shit I gotta buy this now.
This pedal will change music for year's to come :)
Two years later... nope.
No it was Ed sheeran and a looper
Killer, I want one!
Boss has had pedals for this in the past, though fewer knobs
I want this but with expression pedal input. I have the Boss DF2 which does the same job without the control.
I mean the momentary and slow onset are essentially expression
Boss used to have a distortion feedbacker pedal. When you wanted the feedback, you held the pedal down. It wasn't anywhere near as good as this FreqOut, though.
I didn't like the Boss -It did not come on smoothly.
A have both. There’s a sea of difference in favor of freqout
freQout is definitely better, but I have to say that if yo could manage to get the boss set up just right, it had a VERY convincing feedback that wasn't artificially created, it actually sounded differently depending on what amp and speaker you were using. That said, it was fairly difficult to dial in. Had a great boost circuit though. I would definitely scoop one up if I found one again
The Boss Dist/Feedbacker was great back it's day, and the only one of it's kind (early 90's), the Boss Feedbacker Booster is/was pretty cool and has a unique sound, but I believe it's been discontinued.
I had one of those as a teen in the 90's. Drove parents/neighbours fuckin' insane!
gotta admitt this could come in handy i hate depending on pedals but damn
Bravo!
Jimi Hendrix's star spangled banner anybody? Lol.
Lol Creme from 10 CC?
I was thinking exactly that only Jimi didn't need a pedal like this like I do, Jimi was badass!!!
Awesome playing, technique and tone. What brand of guitar is that?
It's a PRS
Could you plug an expression pedal into this and control the level of feedback? .
No, but you could use a One Control Mosquito Blender to achieve sorta what you are asking. That's what I do
@@LeviBulger A what?? Man what the hell iz a ONE CONTROL MOSQUITO BLENDER I'll buy one just coz it's got a cool £μ
No but you can plug one up your ass and control the level of gayness, toe down for full on butt stuff.
This pedal seems fun & usefull ........BUT Nobody will give it a Solid clear review. They fail to show how the note/feedback will die as the note is fading. We,as potential buyers ont know this info. Looks cool to use it for 1-2 seconds. ... but what happens after that. I need Sustain for atleast 8 Full Seconds in the music we do. 8 Full seconds. Not sure if this pedal will do it or not.
Sustains as long has you want it to.
Slightly less than 8 seconds
Going on an ambient pedalboard.
the demo is almost as cool as the pedal
Which is better Boss Feedbacker or Digitech freq out?
Boss lasts longer but more variety with this one
Any advice on where to place this pedal in my effects chain?
Put it first before any gain pedals.
I’ve owned one since they were released. It gets some slightly annoying unpredictable sounds, unlike natural feedback at times. Far from perfect or “real’ sounding but nothing else out there that’s any better, so...
It’s also an eyesore like most DigiTech pedals.
Cry more.
@@sethe171 shut up more
How long well it feedback for? (Sustain?)
About 6 seconds, not long enough
I have one on sale on reverb if any one is interested :)
Why are you selling? And how much?
Dustin MidNyte Driscoll I have a Sustainiac in my guitar now. Will entertain any decent offer. This pedal was pretty much turned on and turned off once and then kept in the box
This pedal is a inch away from greatness. What killed it for me is that the feedback maxes out at 8-10 seconds, then drops out. So close, but no cigar.
Your penis is a inch away from average.
The audience doesn't wanna hear fn feedback for more than 8 seconds Spunk..just my thoughts..rock on
@@michaelkinsey570 I hear ya. But if you are playing live in front of an audience, you don't need this pedal for producing feedback. This pedal is way more useful for direct recording into a DAW.
"True bypass is only in latch mode, in momentary mode it a buffered bypass."
Kids, that's what wearing a ton of silly rocker jewelry does to the finish on your guitar. Dents everywhere he's grabbed it or turned a volume knob or where his necklace has smacked into it.
When did Russel Brand start doing pedal reviews?
Nope, not Russo Brend, Olive Oyl wif a fake beard.
Essentially a one trick pony: several types of feedback. Unless you're doing Jimi on Voodoo Chile or Star Spangled Banner -- I see no need for this. It's kind of an effect frozen in time with big hair bands. IMHO.
Most genres of rock and metal still use feedback. It’s part of a raw sound that is missing in direct recordings.
