Welcome back to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we’re screaming with the FreqOut, from DigiTech. The FreqOut is a natural feedback creator that lets you generate natural feedback without any noise complaints or hearing loss. While most feedback techniques require a ridiculous amount of distortion, the FreqOut works clean, at any volume and even without an amp in the room. The FreqOut reads the incoming harmonic content of the signal, and gives you the ability to focus the feedback on a certain frequency range, for all kinds of creative feedback applications far beyond that of a simple roaring amp. DigiTech gives the FreqOut’s switch the royal treatment, by making it true bypass as well as switchable between latching and momentary modes. The Momentary mode is especially useful for players that want only short bursts of concentrated feedback. A handy Dry Kill toggle switch eliminates the dry signal for 100 percent pure feedback, which lets you sculpt the raw feedback with pedals for tons of extra textures. Two concentric knobs for Gain and Onset let you tailor the feedback to your needs, letting you adjust the flavor as well as the time it takes the feedback to get cooking. And just like all other DigiTech pedals, the FreqOut is housed in a rugged metal chassis that will last a lifetime of gigs.
"This guitar has the most sustain of any guitar... play a note, go out for bite, you come back... still sustaining." We used it on Lick My Love Pump.
Whenever Andy plays any Radiohead in his demos, all the fanboys are like
Digitech is on fire lately. I can't think of a reason to buy this but it does look fun. I just like that they're clearly investing into research and development and not flooding the market with a bunch of the same style pedals that have been around for 30 years.
Reminds me of that magical moment in Machine Gun on the Band of Gypsys album where Jimi holds the first bend of his solo for what seems like forever
Just when I thought I was done buying pedals for a while THEY DRAG ME BACK IN
I like to play my guitar loudly into an amp, get feedback, and then use this pedal for more feedback.
anyone here because he wants the gary moore sustain without a les paul?
Can see some people making horrible ear bleeding noises with this
i know everyone knows this but Andy really is one of the best guitarists out there right now.
Someone please buy Andy real shoes.
" I can't think of a reason to buy this but it does look fun."
That rendition of Airbag was brilliant! I love this pedal and I need it in my life. Digitech have been knocking it out of the park lately - totally fearless and beyond ambitious.
I know most of these comments are 4 years old but from today's perspective with more and more people using modeling gear in digital domains it's the only way to go. Freq into Helix into reaper. BOOM!! And yes I love my Drop too. Digitech is killing it!!
Considering that most of us aren’t allowed to crank up to Pete Townshend levels to get feedback anymore, this is quite an ingenious little idea. May need to get one.
Also, another nomination for Andy to be in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame
Gotta love that! A good array of feedback options without having to do any further ear damage than has already been done, especially for those attributed to high sound levels. \m/
Andy, I've watched many of your demos and think you are an awesome guitarist. You make me want to buy everything you demo.
What a tone at the beggining!
It starts out with my wanting to hear a cool new pedal and then I get distracted by the fact that this guy can play! Nice job, sir!!
Nice bit of Radiohead in there!!!
