    I had some issues with some of the footage in this video and as a result it has unfortunately impacted the overall quality of the footage. If you change your quality settings to 4k it will help to improve things a bit.
    I hope that you enjoy the video 🍀

    Try using more oil or lard when you are frying eggs. A good layer should reduce the sticking and damaged eggs.

    Fantastic to see you back camping Jason 👍😊 Also, you're so right about being selfish sometimes, you have to look after yourself physically and mentally and be a better, stronger person for those around you. I'm sure you'll get back into the gist of wild camping, you've not done it for 5 months so you're bound to be a bit rusty! Hope your back continues to improve mate 👍

    Each year over summer i do very little camping (too hot here) and if i do it's car camping. First night out in the cooler months and I'm totally disorganised, sleep poorly, and feel sore for the experience. After a couole of subsequent trips, I'm back to feeling comfortable again. It's frustrating, but just the way it is, for me at least. Another way to think about it is that things feel new again, to some degree, so it's refreshing.

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  7 місяців тому

    Good man, great to see you out again. It was a lovely spot but the rushing water wouldv'e done my head in after a few hours. I think it's quite normal that things were a bit "off" after being away from it for a while. It will get better. The main thing is that your back was Ok afterwards. I suffer from sleeplessness while out camping. Time seems to drag while Im waiting to sleep but then I get the Camper's Inertia after a bit. This is where I know I need to get up and pee or fix my tarp etc but the temptation is just to burrow down into the sleeping bag and hope it will take care of itself. It never does but it's sometimes hard to get my arse in gear to get something done. This and sleeplessness means I mainly sleep in in the morning when camping. Not good for hiking but it's nice to finally sleep. Looking forward to your next vid! 👍

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  7 місяців тому +1

      Yeah the water definitely disturbed my sleep especially when the flow got very fast during the night. Hopefully you can find some tricks to help you drift off quicker

    Nice to see the Hex in use, have you done any mods to yours, did you use separate pegs for inner. ?
    Not filtering ?? Does simple boiling get rid of all nasties ??
    Your silver mug or a normal pottery mug, if choosing ??
    Do you dehydrate Raspberries whole, or rip appart, what temp and how long ??
    I tried satsumas other day, nice but took forever and still held some juice. Kiwi and banana my goto, but want try Raspberries as well now.
    So pleased you managed to get out again after so long. Cheers

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  7 місяців тому +1

      Have you still got your hexpeak?
      I don't use separate pegs for the inner and the only mod is a small toggle to attached the outer to the inner tent.
      If it's for tea then I don't filter too often. I'm careful not to pick up sediment and once the water reaches a boil all of the bacteria is killed off so it is safe to drink.
      My little silver mug is insulated so it keeps the tea hotter for longer, plus its really tough so it can take a few knocks. I'd choose that over a pottery mug. I like the little wildo cups too, very light and they are very stable, just not insulated
      I cut the raspberries in half to dehydrate them. I always just use the hottest temp and check them for moisture so I'm not sure of the time. I freeze them afterwards anyway so it's not necessary for them to be perfectly dried out. I do that to save a weight and packsize really.
      Sliced strawberries are amazeballs dehydrated 👍

    • @RamblingOn
      @RamblingOn  7 місяців тому

      Ah good eye 😉
      I use ear plugs on every camp. It just helps to dull the sounds around me. It doesn't make me nervous because you hear so many noises when you camp that it would be easy to believe that there is someone outside the tent at any given time 😄 The only noises that I'd be worried about hearing is voices or the noise of the zipper on the tent 😮
