Wearing His Closet

- This is a shortened version of a documentary created by Stephanie Frosch and Nykita Veone. Violence disproportionately affects transgender women than any other LGBTQIA+ group around the globe, yet police statements and media reports fail to address the root of this issue: toxic masculinity. Wearing His Closet follows transgender model and activist, Nicki Vrotsos as she embarks on a journey to reclaim her narrative, her power, and her visibility by wearing the repercussions of the men who are insistent on staying silent and keeping trans women in their closet. As a pre-transition trans woman, this made me cry so much. It scares me that this world dehumanizes us this much, but this video also gives me hope cause clearly people care and people want change.
I’m a cis women and I’d just like to say that this was so powerful and emotional. I am a bit sick to my stomach listening to this because I was in a relationship with a man I could see doing this. He was a narcissist and I was basically just a cover for him not to lose his masculinity. I was mentally abused for years while he went around manipulating trans women into thinking he was single and that I was just a crazy ex. He would gaslight me and say all the cheating was not him, but was his twin brother who would not come clean because his twin was the one feeling emasculated. All lies. I am sorry to the trans women I held resentment towards when I thought they knew I was his girlfriend and got with him. I am sorry for the bad treatment they had to endure by him and still probably are enduring to this day. I hope to god he is not going around abusing these women but deep down I know he still is. For any women who has had to endure mental and physical abuse like this I am sorry. This is not okay. Keep talking about it, don’t let this conversation end here. Stay strong and stuck together with your fellow women. We have your backs, I promise.
There's no such thing as cis
Protect trans women, respect trans women
They're 100% women and all women deserve respect
😂
"I had this dream of being validated." Damn. That hit hard.
So beautifully composed. Thank you for this.
This is so sad and so beautiful and inspiring all at the same time
This video was so amazing, I'm so proud of you, please stay strong ♡
This is so important. Thank you so much for being an ally and using your platform for this.
Such an amazing documentary. Im so glad I got this notification 🥰 Thank you for opening my eyes.
Wow Sis! I loved this. I needed this!
Thank you so much for this video! Stay on top of all similar eye-opener topics. All the best!
You people have my support all the way but thanks for making this documentary and bringing that awareness that I need right now!
Amazing job steph. Ran into you once at Orlando pride and you were SO tiny but do I even have to bring up how mighty? Soooo talented and all the women in this video were absolutely stunning 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is so wonderful and beautiful and should be shared far and wide. I can’t wait for the full thing to be released!
She’s so warm and powerful even in the face of such adversity. Really eloquently delivered. Privilege to watch.
This was great insight to her story and i hope it raises awareness. I learned some things today.
this is so important and powerful. wonderful job sharing this story
Rape is not when someone says "No", it is when someone doesn't say "Yes" willingly and without any constraints or impairments.
Such an inspiring video, Thank you Nykita for sharing your story am so sorry you had to go through that. You are both an inspiration to so many people out there. Thank. you
Happy 30th Birthday Stephanie. Welcome to the 30-year-old club its very elusive club. I believe that no matter what age we turn in 2023 that everyone should celebrate it in any way that they can and do it the best that they want to with friends and family. It should be celebrated in an awesome way.
I'm a woman. Born a woman. Never felt anything other than a woman should feel but this... this rite here made me feel for you things that I will forever feel. I will fight this fight with you just tell me how
This is absolutely amazing! Congrats Steph, you made some really prescient art here! I hope this goes far and wide to help illuminate what goes on within the Trans* community. 🙌👏👏👏
This is amazing! I wish i could see the whole thing
The whole documentary i mean
I definitely get the "I wasn't stealth but I wasn't out" thing. I did that for years, being more public in early 2016 as part of activism against North Carolina HB2 (I lived in Raleigh then.) People like Mara Keisling and Sarah McBride were doing PR things in the state on occasion but there was nobody local doing it and Equality NC was unresponsive (I tried them; they wouldn't even give me the time of day) so I did it.
I was first out as trans in the mid-1990s, at 19. That didn't go well; the first therapist decided to publicly out me for it. There was so little support then.
I love this video , so beautiful and informative, Thank you for making it
Wow! Very powerful and important project. I hope it is seen by millions of people. The world needs to be a better place for trans people. Thank you both for this and good luck. Lots of love, Marieke
This is such a powerful narrative, thank you for sharing. Need to break free from the chain of patriarchy and misogyny... away from the violence that is rooted in the system..
Hearing her story opened my eyes once again to the struggles that women face especially trans women I wish cis people were more aware especially men that its not just every once & a while someone take a woman's power & how unfortunately comman it is
I feel like it's a privilege to hear her story & for it to be out in the world to hopefully bring awareness
Happy Birthday Stephanie. I wish everyone a happiest of birthday's and also, I believe that no matter what age we turn in 2024 that everyone should celebrate it in any way that they can and do it the best that they want to with friends and family. It should be celebrated in an awesome way.
Thank you
This is amazing ❤️
has this been released fully yet? i want to watch it
Hopefully sometime next year
@@ElloSteph YEAH!
You're still alive.
Wow what an incredible, vulnerable project. As a trans person and a sexual assault survivor, this was honestly hard to watch but so so needed.
Thanks for the trigger warning! I won’t be watching this but I applaud you for making content that helps spread awareness and better the world
masterpiece ⭐️🏆
This is such an amazing, inspiring, empowering project! I have so much deep respect for these strong women. As a cis woman myself I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to go through these experiences...
Where can I find information about what I can do as an ally to support the trans community as best as I can? Would be amazing to have some sources for that! 💕 I would really like to step into activism on this subject.
And also: where can I find the full length version of this documentary?
Happy Birthday Stephanie. I believe that everyone should have the best birthday that they can in this new year in a safe way and that includes you. So have an amazing birthday today.
Happy Birthday Stephanie. I wish you the best birthday that you can have in this new year of 2022 and pray that whatever your plans are for today all your dreams come true on you're birthday today.
this should never happen to any1 anywhere anytime.
Wow so powerful 🖤
You are so brave!
Long time no see Steph.
I just saw a beautiful (and so damn powerful) woman with a strong message. I absolutely adore her!
you're so beautiful and strong. I admire your courage and grace. lots of love from another fellow (cis) woman!
Once again I'm reduced to a puddle by the great Stephanie Frosch. A million times like.
How sad I hope you will feel better
Interesting... though I seem quite sure that what this warns about is still very rare. Still, she comes off as very attractive, intelligent and capable and I expect she will still find another guy that loves her as the girl she is.
This makes me really sad🥺😭 btw i’m also trans and now i’m afraid of loving cisman
This should really have more attention than it does... It really will open people's eyes.
#transvalidation
I am very protective of trans people they deserve to be respected and they deserve to be loved A matter fact I'm in a relationship with an amazing trance lady and I've been disowned by a lot of people because of that but it doesn bother me because I'm a happy man who is very protective of my trans woman and I would do anything for her including I would give my life for her any day of the week anyway great video and God bless you and keep up the wonderful videos
Good for you!
😢 how sad. ♥️💞
Where’s Steph
Why ain’t she uploading
Love the video Steph thanks for using you platform in this way
Edit: just went in the Channels section of your page, and one the first one is Arielle after her many attacks on trans people in particular recently after Elliot Page came out. I hope you do not share her views as this video suggest
lol for the trigger warning, I think you mean "depictions" and "discretion"...
❤️
Wow Matt Walsh really took you apart on his latest show. He showed all your responses to his questions and proceeded to make a complete mockery of them... by correcting every one of your fallacious statements. And without any of the ad hominem attacks you used. He even sympathized with your terrible waste of education by being shown up so abysmally by only a high school graduate. 😂😂😂😂
I'm sorry what happened to you
