@jefflitchford1422 Agreed. The problem is that it's very hard to find a good attorney who will take the case of someone who had problems with their previous attorney. It is assumed that the client is difficult and thinks they know more about the law than a lawyer. Been there on a civil matter with an incredibly incompetent attorney who just kept escalating the situation. Rejected several times before finding an excellent lawyer to dig us out of the mess the first one created.

I don't like to judge by appearance but that goofy looking schlub nodding along as if his attorney is a legal genius says it all.
It's like his attorney couldn't find a sign language interpreter so had to go with a wife beating mime artist.

If falsely accusing the judge of judicial misconduct (which being biased would be) doesn’t get you a contempt sanction I don’t know what will.
Judge Simpson is incredibly generous with mercy in this instance because if I’m doing my job as good as Judge Simpson and some schmuck comes in and falsely accusing me of bias you better believe I’m gonna give him a sanction.
That lawyer needs to go take a class on court decorum and what real bias looks like because JS is as far from biased as any judge can get.

I am so glad that we are able to watch actual court cases. These crooked attorneys and judges should be exposed and held accountable. Judge Simpson and Judge Boyd in Texas are my favorites. Now, this attorney should be held in contempt, in my opinion, for being so disrespectful and he shouldn't get away with his actions. He must be making big bucks representing this defendant to act this way.

There are plenty of cases where someone will commit an offence and the friends or neighbours will say ‘he was such a nice guy, I never thought he’d do something like this’. Furthermore, he’s an alcoholic, so perhaps while sober he’s the nicest guy in the world, but it sounds like he drank on this night and that’s when he becomes abusive. I doubt it’s the first time this has happened and of course the victim feels guilty because she’s probably been coercively controlled to believe it’s her fault, evidenced by her statement in the letter or on Facebook ‘I know you only did it because I…’ I believe she was trying to keep his keys away from him because he wasn’t supposed to be driving.
