I'm old school. I keep a paper copy of my documents IN THE CAR at all times. Life is just easier that way. Some people are just too stupid to drive a car. I certainly don't want to trust her with dispensing my medicine.
Completely agree. My dad taught me to always have my registration and insurance in the glove compartment, my ID on me, and to always lock my car when I get out. It's not hard. I know people can pull insurance up on their phone but i know myself and know id already be stressed for being pulled over and would probably forget my password. Id prefer to just have everything ready to hand to the police officer. These days, especially when watching DUI videos, half of the people don't have their ID and 25% don't have insurance. It's been 20 yrs since the one time I've been pulled over in my life and i was let go because it was my birthday and the cops birthday (thats what he said). It was for late inspection which I was on my way to. I confirmed the appt in front of the cop and he said happy birthday and let me go. Never missed an inspection since. It's not hard to not get pulled over. All it takes is obeying the rules of the road.

I have an "adopted" granddaughter that's paying $561 A MONTH for insurance on a 5 year old Malibu from a "buy here pay here" sheeny lot. WHY? She's stupid and it probably has something to do with her totaling 7 cars in the past 7 years.
I've been driving for about 28 years now. In that time I've only been pulled over 6 times. 4 of those times the cop just let me go with a warning because I was being polite. It really isn't that difficult and I don't understand why these people are having so much issue. lol

I got stopped by a State park ranger once for having 3 passengers sitting on the Corvette's covertable top storage hatch lid. He didn't think it was safe. He made the three pretty teenage girls get off, and he made me leave the park for the day. "Heck, officer, the only reason to come to this State Park to to pick up chicks." I should have told him we were "traveling, and he didn't have jurisdiction."

It's not. That was total hogwash. Spend just one day in court and you'll hear more than one sworn in witness say, "I swear to God". The impression I got was that this magistrate is something of a dick. And he fined her for failure to produce proof of insurance during the stop, even though she gave the court proof that she actually was insured at the time of the incident. I don't know about Michigan, but in Ohio you show up in court with proof you were insured and the charge is dropped. I'd lay odds most Michigan judges would have dropped the fine on that charge.

In Florida, if you go to court for a speeding ticket, normally you'll get a withheld adjudication which means it's not on your record, no pts, but you'll still have to pay the fine, but it also depends on your driving record and for this woman she'd get the max with that record.
This is the first time I've felt sorry for the defendant. I wish the magistrate would have given her a break. Both the officer and the magistrate seem to have personalities like a carrot.

It always fascinates me how certain bad actors from different countries approach being dishonest. For example, liars from India really offer a whole load of irrational silliness to deflect.
