@@eggsngritstn Ever since Reagan removed federal funding for mental health facilities, people with serious mental health issues have been shuffled off to jails instead of getting proper treatment. While in jail, people don't get medical or mental health treatment worth a squat, since jails and prisons use for-profit third-party companies to provide said treatment, and are only expected to do the bare minimum. Usually, they do less than that.
There has to be a line drawn somewhere. Hopefully, if more people discuss the issues, we can find that line.

He did seem to have a 'poor me, bring out the violins' vibe. It felt like he was just listing out illnesses when he said what he had. Whilst there was no evidence or testimony that he had those, I am erring on the side of that he isn't lying. If he isn't lying, I would want a detailed psych eval done (another one if one is already done!) for him due to risk and safety of everyone concerned including him.

I can see him mentally creating his new targets’ list: 1) his attorney; 2) the prosecutor; 3) Judge Simpson.

I bet he was so desperate to address the bond and request it be lowered so he could be released and get high

He should be held in jail for life. He is clearly a threat to everyone.

Old Squishy, you have the best cases. This one was both unbelievable and sad. Still i found myself laughing out of control when his bond was increased to $200,000. I do send best wishes to this deviants victim.

I was watching the faces of the others on the zoom during this train wreck. They were all like, what is happening? Even the CO behind James Austin was shaking his head.

    Mental note:
    Never use the phrase,
"My grandfather was in me!" while attempting to reduce my bond requirements.

Your honor, I'm a paranoid schizophrenic who is on video being a danger to others, I think this proves you should lower my bond 😎

You can try to lead a horse to water, but... Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. I see a psych eval in this defendant's future, but I imagine he'll pass.
Prosecutor was very good in this clip. Warned the defendant and made clear and concise arguments.

Unfortunately not only is this failed to adhere to his lawyers advice he fails to to recognise the fact that the worst thing any criminal can do is represent him or her self 😢
