    I live in northeastern Oklahoma, USA. I require many ER ambulance trips to hospital on basically a fairly regular basis for a rare stroke/migraine condition called hemiplegic migraine disorder. The doctors & nurses are always super efficient, kind & caring. When necessary they never fail to put me in ambulance or helicopter for transfer to trauma hospital in Tulsa. We’re now on first name basis. Told them we lived on farm/ranch. We talked about my chickens to relax & calm me down when I had stroke. Told them we’d bring them eggs when I got better. Yes I still have some paralysis from stroke but kept my promise to take them eggs. They were in shock. Said patients often promise things but are never seen again. Said we were first ever. Now when I need to go to ER they great me & family like we’re there family calling me there egg grandma.

      @annabellelaws1950 9 місяців тому +7

      Happens everywhere and being an emergency show you are always going to get these cases in high numbers because that's the people they see. Australia still has a very low violence level compared to most first world countries

    • @DarkJediPrincess
      @DarkJediPrincess 7 місяців тому +1

      Violence is unfortunately a global phenomenon. There are lots of factors that determine the level of violence in any given nation; several evaluative tools have been created by atrocity/genocide prevention and human rights advocacy groups and scholars that enumerate many of those factors, although they are _usually_ used only in the context of gauging the risks of atrocity crimes occurring and/or to analyse how stable a nation is (by Western notions of what constitutes national stability, anyway, which not everyone agrees with).

    The way Roos cut u off on the road is unbelievable always slow down if u happens to or lucky enough to spot one beside u.. they slow down with u or it gives them the opportunity to land in front of u and then bounce off… they usually rest during the day but in the evening and night it’s recommended to put roo reflectors on ur car because our lights blind them hence why they bounce into us… it’s scary

      We have the same problem with deer in rural US. They startle so easy and that saying of, "like a deer in the headlights" is incredibly spot on. They usually jump on the hood of the car or run right in front of you because the light bounces of their eyes and blinds everyone. You usually don't see them until it's too late. Dawn and dusk are the worst time of day to travel in mountain passes or near watering holes. I'm thinking the Aussie "Bull-bar" is the American equivalent of a "deer catcher". Wish their was a better way to keep the critters off the road.

They’ll also do it to check babies bedside if you go in sick while pregnant. • @DarkJediPrincess
      @DarkJediPrincess 7 місяців тому +1

      I don’t think you’ve fully considered the viability of this suggestion.
      If you require a drain to be placed in your chest when you have a punctured lung, it’s likely because you are suffering one of the three following complications:
      • *Pneumothorax,* or air in the chest cavity outside the lungs, where it 100% should not be
      • *Haemathorax,* or blood in the chest cavity outside the lungs, where it 100% should not be
      • *Pneumohaemathorax,* or both air _and_ blood in the chest cavity outside the lungs, where they 100% should not be
      All of these complications put mechanical pressure on the punctured lung(s) that prevents them from fully inflating, which in turn prevents the patient from breathing adequately. It’s also part of the cause of the pain experienced by people suffering punctured lungs with any of those complications.
      All of that combined makes it extremely hard, sometimes even _impossible,_ for patients to breathe adequately. Having a tube inserted into one’s chest cavity is done to _remove_ these complications.
      Gas and air is an _inhalant._ It must be breathed in deeply to be fully effective. So tell me… how is a patient who is _struggling to breathe_ due to their injuries supposed to get anything but the minimum amount of pain relief from gas and air?
      This isn’t the only reason your suggestion isn’t workable, by the way. Drug allergies and intolerances, the fact that gas and air does not provide sufficient (or _any,_ in some cases) pain relief for everyone, and the fact that giving _any_ other painkiller prior to giving someone ketamine before placing the chest tube (which is the standard of care) is completely _redundant_ because ketamine causes patients to forget any pain they experience whilst under its effects are some of the other reasons. I’ve chosen to focus on the mechanical impracticality of it because it’s probably the most _significant_ reason this isn’t a workable idea.
      Sorry to burst your bubble, but it needed to be explained.
      Edited for typos and clarity.

    And what about the Dirtbag who stabbed this man? Ozzie Law will give this guy 18 months in jail! In The United States ( Attemped Murder” Could be life ,or Twenty Years in Federal Prison!

    • @DarkJediPrincess
      @DarkJediPrincess 7 місяців тому

      Wrong, wrong, and SO FUCKING WRONG. The maximum prison term for attempted murder in the state of Victoria, Australia-which is the state Melbourne is located in-is _25 years,_ and the average prison term is _9 years._ You also cannot prove it was attempted murder at all, as in both the US and Australia, the definition of attempted homicide requires that the offender _specifically intends to end the life of their victim(s);_ knowingly carrying a deadly weapon is not proof of intent to murder, as a deadly weapon can also be used to wound a victim without killing them (which the fact that the victim survived in this instance is proof of).
      In both countries, sentences are also lightened when the offender confesses, expresses remorse, pleas guilty, or if there are mitigating factors present. You don’t know the offender’s state of mind following the assault (which is the only crime this _definitely_ is); they may feel remorse for it now, and may express such in court, confess, or do any number of things that would reduce their sentence in both the US and Australia.
      Also, it’s “Aussie”, not “Ozzie”. “Aussie” is a shortened form of “Australian”, so it’s spelt with similarly, starting with “A-U-S” just as the country’s name does.
      You are doing nothing but proving you are ignorant with this nonsense. Do your fucking research before making these kind of (frankly offensive) claims.
      I’m American, born and bred, by the way. Before you accuse me of knowing nothing about US law because I’m defending Australian criminal codes and thus supposedly not an American. People like you tend to do that kind of fallacious bullshit.

      @Clogs2002 Why would you be upset with them? The poor mother is clearly terrified for her husband who was also injured and her younger daughter and her oldest daughter who are in separate hospitals! I think she’s doing the best she can in the circumstances.

    Am I the only one who thinks it’s immoral for young men to engage in sports that are so risky? I don’t understand why everybody thinks that’s normal. I wonder how everybody would feel if young women were the ones getting killed and doing dumb sports for no reason I don’t think people would think that was reasonable

    • @vagirl19
      @vagirl19 4 місяці тому +1

      Yes you are, it has nothing to do with morality. The people participating in those sports and activities don’t think they are dumb. You sound arrogant. Just because you think it’s stupid doesn’t mean everyone else does or should feel that way as well.

      I have more sympathy for the guy that kangaroo could have potentially _killed_ by jumping into his path than the kangaroo itself. Sad that it’s dead, yes, but a human being suffered and might have died as well because of it.

    • @Cassxowary
      @Cassxowary 5 місяців тому +1

      @@DarkJediPrincess I see, so you feel worse for the human, which might not even be a good person, than a nonhuman fellow animal who is innocent and didn't hurt anyone, because (s)he could have potentially killed said human who was in his/her home. And then further avoidance of said facts by calling the nonhuman fellow animal an it, as if (s)he were an object.
      What a great human you are with your priorities in order. Understanding, compassion, empathy are for other people, right? For losers, weaklings? Not for the great supremacist human you are, right?
      Why are you like this? Who hurt you?

      @@DarkJediPrincess and I couldn't disagree more. Who was in whose home? He MIGHT be a good person, but the kangaroo is an innocent nonhuman fellow animal who had every right to do whatever they'd have done, whether accidentally or in self defence. This lad was in THEIR home, not the other way round. Respect them and their home. Even if the country isn't known for that nor is quite there yet, but more and more are starting to. When will you? The sooner you switch to the good side of history the better, mate.
