Jess is just a darling. Poor thing. The idea of the ER as a safe place is a very new and unbelievable concept. The Aussie doctors are marvelous.💝
That sure doesn’t happen here in the states. It’s a shame.
@@annabarry1193You are so right. Poor girl would have been dismissed here. It really is sad. Our health care system needs some serious overhauling
If Jess was in a United States hospital, they would’ve either put her in a mental health zone or they would’ve discharged her from the hospital. She would not have gotten this level of care.
Dr Mya, thank you for your empathy and transparency with dear Jess. My mother, father, sister, nephews and daughter are all medical specialists. I too am in science yet however briefed intellectually, we are fundamentally all people who are vulnerable in a crisis and want our loved one, often Mum. I lost my mother a few months ago and I am 64....the pain of loss is raw and real, no matter ones stage of life, I miss her so much. She was the glue and the strength.... And I adore Kevin, his strength and his humour xxx
Love this show. I’m in Northeast Oklahoma, USA. I know from experience that care received here in US depends on what state & more importantly what hospital you go to. Local hospital here is absolutely awesome. When they transferred me by helicopter to Tulsa, the paramedics held my hand & gave me great care & comfort. Tulsa met helicopter & were great in care & kindness.
Jess made me sob , the poor love. But Keven such a sweet positive man. Had me laughing. I'm so glad he got his beer with Rusty.
Me also, i cried when Jess was crying, my mom died at 52 too,i was 30 yrs old,im now gona be 48 in a few days, we shared our bdays together, hers was july 21st mines the 22nd..18 yrs she's been gone and i still miss her today like i did the day she passed away..Jess is a sweet girl,i feel for her loss❤
Jessica’s situation is heartbreaking. God bless her and her dad.
I just love Dr Thornhill! She is not only very intelligent, but has such a light heart. I want her as my Dr if I need one.
That breaks my heart that elderly man has to walk half an hour to get food .And he is alone 😞
The update at the end said he got home help and he no longer has to do the shopping. He was fun! He's what my elderly relatives would call a "hot ticket."
My heart is breaking for you Jessica ❤ the doctor was amazing ❤
Poor Kevin what s sweetie it really upset me that he has no family at all to look after him if I lived over there I’d love to spend time with him and listen to his stories I bet he has some good ones to tell sending you lots of love and prayers from uk Yorkshire ❤
What ive realized and have come to respect and appreciate by watching this series is everyone is human, the patients, the staff and all their loved ones..I love that the nurses & doctors show their emotions towards their patients..They are so caring and devoted to saving every ones life❤..If myself or my family ever needed medical care or emergency care i know we'd be in good safe hands with the people in this hospital, thats if we ever go on vacation to Australia ❤. .We live in The U.S. in Vermont
Kevin is just the cutest character ever. I really admire these oldies who never give up. The youngsters today just give up. No fortitude.💝
As someone who has been in the er for period pain many times (PCOS and Endometriosis) I wish I had a doctor so caring ass Dr Mya. I am always just denied pain meds, told nothing is wrong and nothing can be done, and then told to go home with a packet of patient info that says to return if I have a list of symptoms that I just went in for haha
Thanks for pointing out that for some people the ER is a safe space. as a child i´ve in and out of hospitals cause of a variety of health problems. i always loved being there. it was better than being at home. now, whenever life gets a bit though, and i start having some sort of "health problems" i drive to a hospital just to sit there in a waiting room, watch the other people and it calms me down in a couple of minutes - and after that i know if i had some psychological or physical problems.
oh my god jess had me crying. bless her
I feel for that young lady. I had extreme endometriosis and after a laser surgery, there was no relief. 😢
Love the description of the heart having an argument with itself! 🤣
❤ I absolutely love watching this show. It shows the difference between the states and in Australia and the UK, the ways that things are approached, how things are prepared for incoming emergencies and how things are done. I was an ER nurse for only 4 years and I sincerely applaud each & every nurse, doctor and medical assistant that are doing this work on this show. Amazing!! What is the song that is played at the beginning of each episode, would really love to know. Sincerely, my best to all of you.
I find that the UK Trauma Resus is much better organized. Everyone knows what they have to do before the patient arrives. Things just happen faster & more efficiently.
Rescue me - One Republic is the song btw :)
It is „would you rescue me“ from One Republic
💯😭 I’m a nurse in NY, and it’s a dumpster fire
Kevin is such a soldier. Love him! I hope I'm like him when (if) I reach that age ❤
Oh god im 52 in june, with heart failure, and other medical stuff. Drs have told me nothing more they can do. Jess has seen me off,my daughter is terrified, so is my son. But this has got me x
I love this episode.
Kevin is a legend......happy everybody was more or less ok!
I am diagnosed as a Vascular Ehlers DANLOS patient, which means an average age of 50 years
I am now 57 years old, and am convinced that I live longer because of the right help in Denmark🙏i
Jess I hope you are ok now.❤🙏
I think that Jess may have severe endometriosis and the pain could have been from a ruptured cyst. I appreciate Dr. Mya always - I don't think it was just period cramps and sadness.
I hope if Jess is watching this and reading the comments she will get in to her GP and be firm about these tests if she didn't get them yet. Even if this is a few years ago. I waited too long and wound up unable to carry a pregnancy. I'm a happy adoptive mom, very blessed, but that pain is best avoided. Go with my maternal instincts, as though I was your mom. Get it ruled out!
Continue watching the rest of the show, she was referred to a gynaecologist for suspected endometriosis
Love this series
Kevin is so lovely😍😂😂! Amazing personality.
So glad that Kevin is receiving home care services.
I live in the U.S. and I wish the doctors and EMTs cared as much and comforted people as needed. I have went by ambulance to the ER and the EMT was so cold. Sometimes I have heard and read that doctors are trained to show little or no emotion. I love watching these real life stories, where doctors and patients share caring and loving moments❤❤
Armad is a beautiful man. You can tell he loves his kids and wife ❤
Dr Maya is so sweet i
Humor, along with chemotherapy &/or radiation therapy, has also been shown to help fight cancer.
This show is very exciting to watch
13:25 I just had my mums anniversary so I can feel this young ladies pain and fear.
Its terrifying when you go to hospital with symptoms your parent had when they passed.
34:35 ❤
I love how the Aussie's pronounce tourniquet, they say torn-ah-kay. In America, we pronounce tourniquet turn-a-kit."
We manage to mangle many words here in the US. Our gift for languages is limited at best. We absolutely do not hear anything even slightly foreign.
It's from the French language April ... so torn-i-kay is the correct pronunciation. Sort of like bouquet.
Awwwwwww Jessica 💔💔💔💔
I am ashamed now that I treated some pts differently than others. I was burned out and probably would have benefited from a leave. I am sorry to anyone that I hurt or offended. All pts deserve respect and consideration.
I’m sure you did your best the doctors key my dad down huge he went in throwing up blood like jugs of it then had a heart attack they kept him in for 3 weeks all they did is give morphine and did his blood pressure then sent him home I was begging them to do more and not send him home he died within 24 hours of getting home alone they said if he would have been given it antibiotics he would be alive today Thai happens 6 months ago I’m not the same person I feel sick all the time so I can’t eat I just drink milkshakes I cry every day I don’t go out unles I have too he left a wife me and my six children that adored him so much behind it’s going threw court as he was not treated as he should have been at all they just let him die and did nothing at all
These people are truly amazing❣️❣️❣️❣️
I understand they believe Jessica's chest pain is a symptom of stress, but don't dismiss chest pains in teenagers as my daughter suffered a Cardiac Arrest at 18. She was subsequently diagnosed with Brughada Syndrome and has been fitted with a defibrillator. I myself had Endometriosis and the period pains were worse than labor for me. Love this show!❤
Poor ahmad
Eloise will be a wonderful caregiver 💝
Oh Jess. ❤
Poor Jessica 😢😢💔
For the mum who just got news about her daughter's accident, or anyone who receives devastating news from the hospital, don't drive. Call an Über, Lyft, a taxi , or a friend or relative. That way you will not suffer from your distraction from the dire news. Let someone else do the driving.
Amazing dad.With leg problems.
Kevin has Zest for life.
Did they seriously not give any pain relief to Jess? 🤨 They didn't mention or show it, but I hope they did
Yeah that´s what i thought too. I don´t go to the emergency room to get a warmpack...
Warm made my endometriosis even worse. Nothing helped for me.
Pelvic pain in women is very often dismissed by emergency rooms as non-urgent. I think the docs sometimes forget, if we could manage it at home with OTC meds and a heat pack, we would not be coming to the ED. I would never go to ED unless I was dying here.
I'm glad they referred Jess on to be checked for endometriosis. The chest pains might've been from grief but it's not normal to have years of crippling period pain. The ED can't do anything for her, then and there, for it but a referral from them can carry some weight - it did for me with a heart concern other GPs might've dismissed
Lack of Vit b 12 lost my balance Now had. Injections.
I would be absolutely terrified to be in an emergency situation in Australia. I want trauma specialists that act like trauma specialists!
I think they are amazing compared to uk they leave you to die I’ve seen it many times and my mums a nurse and she says she would never want to be in a hospital in the uk that it’s self speaks volumes
Well, let's hope you're never here to test us.
I listen to Kevin with admiration. I then think of that trans person who works for Starbucks and was crying his/her eyes out because he was expected to work an 8 hour shift. No wonder the west is falling apart.
I wish this show would stop over dramatizing every patient.
They played violins at one point! The music is a bit much.
Then don’t watch it is a tv show
