Rory stole the show from everybody.. that's why the stones wanted him.. but Rory being Rory he wasn't having any of that...
Met my husband at this❤️
Rory Gallagher & Gerry McAvoy..nuff said!!!
The band Taste was fantastic!
Best highly underrated blues/ rock musician ever, this man is my heart and soul when it comes to music.
the most badass shit ive ever seen in my life. They're all incredible. so underrated
Rory and Gerry. What a chemistry.
I was there in Ruisrock 1975, Wishbone Ash were the headliner being the main reason for me getting there. I had only heard a couple of Rory Gallagher songs before this, but that evening he totally blew me away. I became a fan instanteniously. Wishbone ash were good but - sorry Wishbone Ash - Rory stole the show. Great intensity and improvisations. One of the best gigs I've ever experienced. Nice to see this clip, and first time I've seen it in colour!
THE TARTAN AXEMAN !!!!✌👍👍👍👍👍👌👏 The Old Rocker I Was 19 then 😕😂g
Don't know how many comment I have heard through the years of people going to see a band with Rory as the "opener" and coming away just totally blown away.
Amazing guitarist but terrible voice unfortunately
@@anterskiff8830 are you tone deaf ?
@@anterskiff8830 rory scatted like a jazz singer, alvin lee did this too
I remember this , Damn it I feel Old Now :) QC
The truth wins, as it should be. No post production, no auto tune - just a pure musicianship. Where has the show biz come now?
Genius
A field, some wooden beams, canvas and electricity. That's was it took to catch an audience, play live music and have fun. 100% pure.
im so glad i decided to find out just who rory gallagher was. sadly i never had the chance to hear him as a kid. this guy rocks
Legend, sadly the man burned the candle at both ends
Flat out and bad ass, terrific person. Live the energy and passion he brought was infectious. RORY FOREVER
CLEAN, AMP AND GUITAR ONLY LIKE JOHNNY WINTER! SAW HIM IN '72 OUTDOOR AT 1 OR 2 O'CLOCK IN MORNING AT A FESTIVAL IN ROCKINGHAM SPEEDWAY IN NC! WILD TIMES THEN. LOVED HIM/DON'T MISS THOSE DAYS AS MUCH!
I was there too, and I remember his show started at least an hour late due to electricity problems. But what a show it was for a guy in his 20s! We also slept in tents and while we were in concert some asshole stole all our reserve clothes, except mine, probably cause they were so small...
Rory kicks ass, they all kick ass but that DRUMMER, WOW, single kick, I was so supplied to see this when the camera finally got around to him !! I was tapping along, grovin' to the jam and imagining those big double kicks and I could not have been more wrong. Gotta watch this again. RIP Rory, you were amazing !!
Great performer. I always noticed how he smiled when he was playing. Like Eddie Van Halen, he really loved to perform for the audience .
I noted that too, yes, like EVH
Yep spot on, I have seen Blackmore live and I thought he was the biggest fraud ever you could clearly see he was hating having to perform the concert
@@paulfitz61 Ritchie Blackmore is one overrated guitarist anyways
Awesome guitar work!!
Great show for sure.
Amazing. You can hear licks that other guitarist played AFTER him plus his singing style.
His legacy lives on i love the guitar madness and the drumming it has a blues rock groovy sound
The Rory 's story with his Strat makes me thing of King Arthur legend with Excalibur
I had the pleasure of seeing Rory twice in concert. Rory is by far the best live act I've ever seen, with the original Deep Purple running a very close second!
Grande musicista, genio indimenticabile, come lui solo jmi endrjx il grandissimo.eterni.Dainese Aldo.
Never seen this, many thnx for posting.
I dont have just one favorite guitar player. I do have to say Rory Ghallagher is on the list of the ones that are my favorites
Rory's my favorite and I don't see anything wrong with it
Wild☘️Rory shredding🔥it
WOW !!!!!!! I had the pleasure of seeing him Sydney Australia in 74/75 (can't remember exactly..lol )...blew my mind as a 15/16 year old.....fell in love with him and his music....then saw him again 1979/80 and got to meet him after the show.....he gave us his guitar pick and a drum stick.....most treasured items to this day.....I have had a life long love affair ( from a distance ) with this lovely man and incredibly talented musician...oh , wonderful memories ...stored in the memory banks for ever......thanks for sharing Onan T xxx
Rory played Hordern Pavillion in Sydney of Feb. 5, 1975. Then he did 3 nights at The Capitol Theatre in Sidney in late June, 1980. Either of those venues ring a bell?
@@markstang4593 Yes !!...thank you so much ! Both of those ring a very loud bell...
Hey. I've still got my ticket stubs ($10.90!) from the June 21st & 29th 1980 shows at the Capitol. Great, great performances. Can't remember which night it was but a guy from the crowd jumped up and started singing the chorus during "Shadow Play". When the roadie came out to get the guy (who was doing a pretty good job) off the stage, Rory stopped the roadie and let the crazy sing his heart out. Good times.
@@trevor9917 After reading your comment (it seemed like deja vu ) I talked to 1 of the people I went with ....we were smashed so had some blanks ...talking about it we remembered that guy singing that night....lol....at the time getting smashed to go to a concert was the done thing , but it has caused missing bits here and there....not until we talk about those good ol' days that the memories return ....anyhoo ....it was a great night , and great times..and thanks for prodding my memory :)
When this came out in the US, I heard it on Detroit rock radio, and went right out, bought the album, (Against the Grain) and have been a rabid fan ever since! RIP Mr. Rory, we all miss you….
Yes !! Me too !! What an album !! I still have my copy...a little worse for wear , but I don't mind....lol
Awesome footage! This where UA-cam serves a wonderful purpose. Being able to see the likes of Johnny Winter and his bands, Rory Gallagher, Alvin Lee, James Marshall Hendrix, Stevie Ray and many more sharing and show their God Giving Talents. As much as their names are the face of their music, all the supporting bandmates that help bring it all together for us/me I give thanx of gratitude for their contributions and helping provide the joy of listen and memories of live music for our souls. I have seen many but did not get to see them all Gone but never forgotten!
This is AWESOME!!!!!!!!
I'm japanese and first look of Rory Gallagher! He blew me away!!!!!
THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great band.
He was amazing. We need more like him!
Great guitarist and a real cutie!!
SICK & SLICK... 🤘🔥⚡🌠
I am blessed I saw the great man live, one of my best all-time live artists
just a beautiful Irish home town boy.x
This is more proof that Rory was the greatest blues guitarist from the U K and Ireland.
This is sensational
I haven't seen this clip
Just another treasure
Whole gig was filmed
Super high energy guy..my favorite "Rock" guitarist!
Mine too xxx
Rock "guitarist"
1975 I saw Rory Gallagher open for Jethro Tull at Shea Stadium NY we had nose bleed seats, I was 15 those were care free good times.
Pity he passed the way too young...
I saw him just in 1975... What a good remember🎶🎸🔥🔥💓thanks for this post 👏👏👏🌿💚
Hell yeahaaa ✌️😎🤘
The master at work. Gerry, Lou & Rod tight as a drum
The very best lineup for me,absolutely together and brilliant.
Always played with such joy.
Rory in top gear! This Finnish rock festival is still going strong. Great setting by the sea and every now and then a big ship going between Finland & Sweden passes right next to the stage.
Rory was a live wire all the way.
El mejor guitarrista de todos los tiempos. Rory Gallagher
Rory is the God of guitar no one can compare to him till today no one can play what he have played those year , and much bands and guitars have take a music notes and styles from Rory
why did he use that old beat up guitar ?
foe one reason, it was like an extension of himself!
Nice one. Can't go wrong with Rory.
Thanks for posting this. The quality is great. One of my favorite live performances from Rory.
Rorys gig at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki (1976) one of the best concerts I ever have seen. Full of energy throughout 👍
That would have been wild. Was it normal for acts like this to tour the Nordics?
Fantastic live footage of Rory and his band. Thanks for posting!
His soloing is fabulous here!
fantastic...great performance...as always. this is the guitar man!!
One word :LEGEND
That bass players a beast! All these dudes are!
Gerry McAvoy.....check out his book "Riding Shotgun".
@@ecldinc A good book.
Gerry was unbelievable how he played the bass guitar. Even in the tribute to Rory Gallagher with Gary Moore playing guitar

Interviewer: Jimi Hendrix, how does it feel to be the worlds greatest guitar player?
Jimi Hendrix: Ask Rory Gallagher.
Respect
never happened !
@@bekkbekks7546 total myth Jimi Hendrix when asked by Dick Cavett how does it feel to be the best guitar player in the world replied how about the best sitting in this chair.
Ole Rory started the grunge look
Rory Gallagher was so underrated. He was an incredible guitar player, an amazing songwriter and a great bluesman. Maybe he was underrated because he was not English or American.
Rory was not underrated. He was exactly where he wanted to be. He traveled constantly worldwide performing. He had a huge following, even here in USA.But he had been in the business since age 15 & learned quickly of the schemes & manipulations of the major music companies & wanted no part of it. He controlled his own music rights, productions, tours, etc. Back in that day our music came from the radio & accelerated from there. The big companies weren't able to cash in on his fame so they didnt promote him on the radio programs for the public to be aware of him. No internet back then. We heard about him anyway. He toured many times here in America. I saw him 1972 in N.Carolina at a big music festival. He was unbelievably awesome. Such a talent & so much energy. We miss him. Absolutely one of the greatest ever.
Not underrated. Very rated by this English person! I grew up and learned a lot from Rory.
@@GWard-hz5wj But te American musical media considered him second rate .
.@@GWard-hz5wj Very interesting. Same story with Ani Difranco in the 90s.
@@markoak916 Depends...who are u referring to? Rolling Stone magazine? They are a joke. Ever read their comments on Led Zeppelin when they were at their peak? The music media at that time was basically your radio, the rock magazines & the the tours that were being promoted. I was around then. This is exactly how it was. I can tell u Rory had a huge following here. No, u didn't hear him played or discussed on radio. But as I said, the music business here could not cash in on him. He controlled all his copyrights, everything. He learned the hard way with a manager from his band "Taste" in his early days of success. The guy was stealing all their money & lying to them to turn them against each other. So when u say "media" u are misled. Real music fans here knew him. We loved him & still do. He would not have continued to return to tour USA if it wasn't paying off for him.
Chills down my spine every time! LOVE YA RORY!¨'
Rory. One of a kind. The greatest. And if I could think of any other superlatives I'd write those too.
What a beautiful accolade.
Saw Rory live, streatham early 70's. Fabulous. Funny though, best band i ever saw live, slade, wembley early 70's.
Perfect!!!
Für mich der beste weisse Mann an der E -Gitarre .
One of the greatest..
BRUTAL PERFORMANCE! I feel sorry for the band that played after Rory 😅
Yess!!I take what i want😎❤👍
Amazing band.
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!

Espetacular ❤
Love it. What are all you Finnish fans today? Great shirt of course.
I was on The Spot!!
I've been a fan of Rory since the Taste days. R.I.P. Rory.
On the boards first time l heard him 1970 l just left school amazing time for music
Yep! Opened up for Cheap Trick or Iron Madain?? 1982 . That was it!!! Looks like the same Strat. His guitar cord also works as a "puppy leash" across the stage. All tubes!!!!
In 1977 i think i saw Rory the first time in Belgium..long time ago :-)
Awesome 💚
VERY GOOD.......................................................
Jerry. Jerry. Power of quality this is on your iPhone now... rewind Rory
Just lovely. Small party and Worlds best on the run. Pretty nice. amazing that in Kekkoslovakia, so good sound and mixing. Sad that bass isn´t allways so loud.
Guitar might have a bit of hippasen lisää boost. Only my personal true believe. Rory on.
Leute, I love it..........oh, yes...........BEST
This sounds great saw him do this at the Cobo Arena when he opened up for the Kiss band
Saw him at the old Cleveland Agora where Kiss opened for him!
@@kevinkeough3434 Justice exists, then !
Kiss are good for kissing Arse nothing else.....not fit to clean Rory’s shoes ...!
@@emmetnolan7081 Kiss sucked
D'Ath & Martin. Why Rory sacked them I will NEVER understand. Line ups after good but that 4 piece was GREAT.
I think Rod and Lou wanted more money and more of a say in what music was being played. After Rory’s experience with Taste, he didn’t want to go thru that again. I do agree ….this was his BEST lineup by far. Saw them about 7 times together- what a tight band !
I was there :)
только один это Рори ...
I like him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bom demais
Long live Gerry MCAvoy!
I have often thought that he deserves so much more recognition as a brilliant bassist and live performer
Gerry was unbelievable how he played the bass guitar. Even in the tribute to Rory Gallagher with Gary Moore playing guitar
Rory's blues is: bass, drums, guitar and that's it
Great tune . . . reminds me of Allman Brothers "One Way Out".
