How in the hell did I miss this guy for so many years? Fantastic musician! I'm 76 years old and have earned the right to say: better late than NEVER! Hope I can listen to Rory for another 20 years! Always so nice in your twilight years to discover a new writer - or, in this case, a great musician! Rock on, Rory!✌
Great! It’s not the age, is the attitude! Music keeps the brain alive. I wish you many years of good vibrations !
@@andrewme9720 Andrea, thank you for your good wishes - much appreciated! I'm still kickin' - and listening to Rory Gallagher. Stay safe!✌
I KNOW! What was I doing that i missed him, too! Enjoying!
Hey Jim, isn’t it great we can still discover new things? Rock on!
@@markthomsen51 Mark, man you sure got that right!😃 Can't believe I missed this guy all these years. Imagine... and here's me thinking I'm hip!😱
That bass player is a monster. Power stanced his way through the whole song while holding the rhythm. Crazy good.
Yeah, about 2 years ago, me and some other dude were writing comments back and forth about tbe bass players' wide stance.
Me, him, and some other dudes kept communicating every few weeks weeks about him "Sporting a wide stance" Anyway, every now and then, me and these other dudes also check in with each other and verify our "Wide Stance "
It's really funny.
He’s like that in almost every video I’ve ever seen of Rory. Amazing energy.
@@wallagain8782 guy still plays the same way to this day, there’s live performances of him on UA-cam from not too long ago
That,s Gerry on bass.

Rory dropped his pick while shaking hands, and a guy in the audience fetched in on the floor and gave it back to him 1:45. True rock attitude!
Wow, i've never noticed this in 13 years i watch this show 😄
Well spotted. No other guitarist expended more energy on stage. He left it all out there for his fans. Legend.
Haha. I thought that guy was awkwardly trying to get a handshake hahaha
I've never seen anyone as high on music as Rory is here, and he takes the entire crowd with him on his journey. What a gift this man was...
The energy of this performance would power Ireland for a year.
So true

absolutely true, insane energy!

A true, genuine and generous rock star ⭐
Nobody enjoyed performing more than Rory. Every single show this man gave 100% commitment to his craft. A wonderful artist and fine human being.
Yea like Angus
Had the fortune to grow up with Rory performing in the shite that was Ireland, saw him several times my total hero still, love the purity
i dont know, the bas player looks pretty delighted also!

The Irish love to party & live music 🎵
Ladies and gentlemen, that was rock and roll. You played until your guts fell out and then you played a little more. When Rory strapped on that Strat, it was game on. He never left anything behind. God, I miss those days.
The very best of Ireland in the 60's- '95 & even now. Rory & Gerry killed it!!! Gerry is STILL 'blusin' on. No one better lmo!

He did it and some thx
fantastic comment 👍.....
I am 67 And I still love him bass guitars is awesome Rory you have kept me awake many nights you are freaking beautiful I will never get tired listen to you ❤❤❤❤❤
Did you Rory transferred all his talent to someone that fine tuned it and also have an excellent voice?
No?

I guess there's something to be said for bands that can play to sold out arenas and shit like that, but to me Rory and his band are the absolute embodiment of rock music. No fancy stage props, no gimmicks, just pure raw energy and face-melting talent.
No fancy Gimmicks? his hair and jump around the stage is all a gimmick for his amazing guitar playing.
No harm in a good gimmick when there is awesome talent above it.
💯 I’m just now finding Rory. And this is what rock and roll looks like. Just pure and magic.
@@bighands69 Rory NEVER used any gimmicks like today's GARBAGE. Unless You could call His Vox AC30 and Rangemaster trebel boost a 'gimmick'. He was pure and and THE BEST EVER.

As a young guitarist, man i can feel so many bands that were inspired by this dude… I know he has a huge influence on guitarists even to this day but like, damn.
I can feel EVERYTHING.
Anything from Queen, Hendrix, hell and even PUNK.
Truly a master!!
When Hendrix was asked in a interview "Many people feel you're the best guitarist in the world , do you think you are ? "- Reply = Nah man better ask Rory Gallagher that question "...
He never said that. I scoured the internet looking for the source of that quote; it doesn't exist. Somebody just made that up.
Rory Irish legend
I remember Brian May talking about how his tone was basically a carbon copy of gallaghers. He apparently saw gallagher live and asked how he got his tone and he said “well, strat, into AC30 with a treble booster.” And brian kinda took that and made it his own
That was hands down one of the best performances I've ever seen. Rory is the pinnacle of musical talent. Most acts today cannot hold a candle to this level of musicianship and stage presence.
Rory was burning up. Amazing energy, he just can't stand still. Wow! Great video. Thanks for uploading.
What's up with the hall of fame scenario
You're not wrong.

The unsong hero and MOST underrated guitarist of all time.
Rory is the epitomy of talent, modesty and a musician powerhouse:
Even violence in Ireland stood still for a Rory Gallagher concert. Top that, any other musician!!!

Absolutely. 'The best guitarist most people have never even heard of.' A staple in my college years.

Rory Gallagher is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. But the bass player Gerry McAvoy is killing it.

It would be winter in Cleveland Ohio and perhaps a bit chilly in the old Cleveland Agora...us fans would still have our jackets on. Yet within 10-15 minutes Rory ( dressed in his usual t-shirt, jeans and flannel) had the petal to the metal with high energy sweating up a storm. 2 1/2 hours minimum, sometimes 3 hours of the rockiest energy I've ever seen delivered so tastefully with concise talent and energy. Wow! RIP my dear friend, always love ya, will never forget you!
Possibly the greatest piece of live music ever recorded.
Terry, I just recently 'discovered' Rory and this is the first time I have heard/saw his absolutely incredible talent. Unbelievable! I'm 76 years old and the only live performance I have ever seen that comes close to this number was Janis singing Ball and Chain at the Montetey Pop Festival way back when. High praise indeed - but well deserved! What an incredible performance! You are 100% correct!
Also possibly the widest stance a bass player has ever sported!

Have been a nonstop Rory fan since his Tattoo’d Lady album in ‘72. I loved how he just played. No fancy suits or light shows, just pure powerful rock and blues. No pretension. Gotta love a guitarman who just lets the music and talent speak.
RIP Rory Gallagher (March 2, 1948 - June 14, 1995), aged 47
You will always be remembered as a legend.
I love the way he completely gets the audience with this pure rock’n’roll energy. After this amazing solo everybody is standing, clapping, dancing... Living in a South American country and having “only” 43 years old all I can say is that I envy these people in the audience so much. I wish I could have been there too.
And if this had been played in a Latin American country the partying would be heard on the other side of the universe. Latin American rock audiences are amazing.
