I'm 45 and I discovered Rory 3 to 4 years ago and I was just amazed by his music.. Music has always been my savior to life's up's and down's that all of us go through.. I live in a rural county in TN and Rory Gallagher is someone that I didn't even knew existed.. Anyways, now, I don't know why he he wasn't big in America because his music and live performances were amazing!!!. Well, thank you for sharing your experience with us.. I don't think that I was made for these times..
I discovered Rory Gallagher at the age of 54 by chance, looking for good rock guitar players. It's been the best discovery I've ever made, after Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler when I was 16. If I had discovered Rory at 16 he would have been a rock idol to me ever since. An exceptional performer and composer who cannot be ignored and who cannot be forgotten.
STUNNING IRISH BLUES MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RORY IS THE MITHYCAL IRISH GUITARIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IRISH TOUR 1974 IS MITHOLOGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i saw Rory in 1973 i did not know who he was.. he opened up for Deep Purple at the time when they were peaking , Rory and his band were on fire and blew the roof off the place. he left the audience in a frenzy after doing an encore the crowd was standing on their chairs demanding more chanting his name over and over.. as good as Purple were back them he made it difficult for them that night. the next day i went out and bought everything he made and became a fan for decades
When he opened for Aerosmith, his act finished with the audience chanting his name and requesting an encore. Aerosmith came out anyway, and the crowd threw bottles at them, so they stopped the event.

But, does anyone agree with me when I say that Rory's guitar playing is better technically..? If I offended anyone, apologies to you... Just my opinion... Anyone agree?
Seems like some people have contracted covid and lost their taste. Cmon this is Rory Gallagher you're listening to here. The gaelic genius who nobody but nobody can better on a live stage.Seen the man 3 times, twice in Belfast, once in London. Guitarist/entertainer supreme, mesmerising performances each time. The best of the best, Rory Gallagher. The younger generation needs to listen to this gentleman genius. When I saw him in Belfast I was in awe, from start to finish 😲. Gerry McAvoy is another bassist that never got the credit he deserved either alas outside the musical mainstream. I always thought Gerry & Cliff Burton would have a wonderful jam together. RIP Rory, ye will never be forgotten. 🙏 🐺

Rory you are my hero seen you lots of times 64 now and been to Cork to your resting place by your mum see you in heaven xx
He opened for Rush in 1982. The next I went out and bought the Stage Struck, on cassette. Still remember how great he was that night.

LEGEND
Incredible. Rory was and is still one of the best. We saw it on TV in 1982... and drank beer out of buckets of water.
I remember way back and very early 80s I saw an article in the rolling Stone magazine over a page and a half and it labeled Rory Gallagher as white blues guitarist extraordinaire how great is that love you Rory rest in peace Rodney Ryan
Er ist auch der Grund warum ich VOX - Fan bin . 👏👏👏
Heya Finne, what a great love rig !! Own the room and the work experience intern on the desk will sink or swim.
Good luck🎸☮️
Heya Finne, quick edit
" GREAT LIVE RIG" not " Great Love Rig " although that probably applies.....😜🎸☮️
