everybody underrates just how good a singer Rory was. i think that is what sets him apart from every other brilliant guitarist around that time. His singing really drew the audience in, he was on another level in the mid 1970's. i am going to get them to play Going to my HomeTown when they walk out after the curtains close at my funeral. I am old now and have to make plans, and i want them marching down the aisle and clap clap ...... clapclapclap ing on the way out.
62 already been hooked in 1974 by Irish Tour. Since then I have been a life long fan. He is unsurpassable.!!!!!The best forever in so many ways, it will NEVER get better
68 years young & i first heard Rory from his first solo LP which my older sister had. Saw Rory a few times in the 70s & he never disappointed anyone. He played this small club in Washington DC called My Mothers Place & guys like Link Wray & Roy Buchannon played there all the time & Rory did whenever he was near on his tours sadly at that time, he was the opener, but it wasn't long till he was main act & he never looked back. Such a talent that only comes around once in a long while. So, if you are 48 & just now finding out what us dinosaurs know, well it's better late than never & you have mush great music to find from him. My suggestion is start either with his time with Taste or start at his first solo album & by the time you hit Irish Tour 74 you will picking your jaw up off the floor. 🎸🔥

There were a few trailblazers in the 60s 70s but Rorys style was unique. I always say it was because he was Irish. To have that musical heritage is priceless.
