    Thank you Loren, this is a really great yoga nidra... very soothing... really appreciate it being 'simple', as in just your voice clearly guiding with no music, sounds of rain or waves etc... just a simple, profound, beautiful yoga nidra. Thank you 🙏

    This was such a beautiful practice! Living with a perpetually overactive mind, this allowed me to settle and release and just be. I especially LOVED the Sankalpa; I usually use my own, but this was perfect for my pre-practice state of mind. Many thanks :)

      You are very welcome! I am glad to hear you enjoyed the practice. It is a very common experience to have emotional releases in yoga nidra because you are working with not just the physical body but the energetic body, emotional body and more. When you get into these "spaces" your body has an opportunity to release mental, emotional, physical and energetic blocks.

    This was wonderfully relaxing. Made it really easy for me to get into the yoga Nidra state. Your calm voice, the unhurried pace, the birds in the background, breathing up and down the body - the full relaxation package for me. Thank you! 💛☀️☮️

    I like this meditation it relaxes me. Something that happens is several times threw out doing it I feel almost like a terror arise in my body. It might be the stress of being raised in an abuseive family. Any tips on how to overcome?

      Hi Kathy, I am so glad you are enjoying this nidra. Thank you for reaching out about this because I do have a few tips to try.
      First and foremost, ensure that when you set up for your practice you feel SUPER safe. Sometimes when there is a history of trauma certain positions, closing the eyes etc may not feel right for you and may even vary day by day. Don’t force anything that doesn’t feel right for you and make the adjustments you need.
      This particular yoga nidra practice is a full yoga nidra, meaning we explore all 5 koshas or subtle bodies. I am not sure when you are experiencing the terror feelings but my guess is some time after the body scan when we enter into the energetic body and further….When you go into the other subtle bodies beyond the gross physical body in the rotation of consciousness you are getting into places where trauma may be stored. So it makes sense for someone with a history like you to experience something like this.
      When this happens a few invitations to try ONLY if you want to continue with the practice because it feels safe to do so would be possibly trying:
      -Regrounding back into the body- notice where your body is on the mat, what you feel and parts of the body on the surface below etc. Or if it feels unsafe to be in your body, open your eyes and focus on something in the room like a speck on the ceiling etc. When it feels safe you can go back to your practice.
      -Simply opening your eyes or take a soft gaze for a few moments of your practice.
      -Finding your inner resource or inner safe place. When you feel this terror think of a place that feels really safe for you. This could be real like your favorite room or place in nature, in the past like a past memory of feeling really safe or completely make-believe. When you start to sense the terror, tune into that inner sanctuary or resource and when it feels safe go back to the recording. You can even do something like a pendulum where you swing back and forth from the memory or inner resource to the recording.
      -Last but not least you could always stick to practices that are not full yoga nidras. You probably will experience less when the practice doesn’t include things like visualizations or sensing opposites. A few like this on my channel include Yoga Nidra for Stress and Anxiety, Yoga Nidra for Overthinking, 3 Minute Yoga Nidra, 5 Minute Yoga Nidra, Yoga Nidra for Self Love, and any of the NSDR.
      -Also, in 2023 I will be offering private yoga nidra sessions, it may be helpful to work thru this in personalized guidance so it feels safer.
      I hope that this helps and if you want to reach out via email you can hello@lorenrunion.com

    Loren, will this one help with insomnia if I listen during the day or early evening but not in bed at bedtime? Thanks!

    • @lorenrunion
      @lorenrunion  Рік тому +1

      I think if that is something you usually practice then yes! Yoga nidra in general helps with insomnia for a lot of reasons. One, it helps your body improve the relaxation response, it also helps you learn to become aware of thoughts that might be racing and create space to choose and also focus on the body. So in those terms any nidra can help improve insomnia. I personally cannot practice after about 4pm or it affects my ability to fall asleep unless I'm doing it right before bed. If yoga nidra during the day helps your insomnia this will definitely help. Hope this helps ❤️
