  • Certain forms of experience put us into powerfully restorative states, similar to sleep.
Non-Sleep Deep Rest is supported by such studies and can be done any time of day or night to rapidly reset our ability to calm, focus, and, when needed, ease the transition to sleep.
Please post comments or questions below about your experience with NSDR.

I've bounced around different NSDR videos but this is now my favorite.
I like it for the good and consistent audio quality, the speaker speaking in a non-forced and normal voice, lack of music, and most of all for the speaker staying with me throughout because I tend to get lost in thought when there is long pauses. Anybody else can’t help but smiling when we are ‘travelling’ around our body, feeling each individual part with our mind? It feels so satisfying, like energy is bubbling in that area. Well, that’s my experience anyway. Amazing protocol

It worked! I had been trying to go to sleep for 2 hours - I put this on (after some trouble getting the voice to be the right volume so that it didn't keep me awake and didn't become too low to understand the speaker) I felt connected to the universe, the world, the city, the home, my room, my body - and fell asleep connected. That's the way to fall asleep.
    Thank you. Warmest regards
    Jennie

I just had a weird experience.
I've been struggling with insomnia and anxiety for the past three months; most nights I sleep for 4 hours and then I'm awake and there's no getting back to sleep.
Tonight, I tried this for the very first time. By the time I was mentally repeating the names of the various body parts, I started having visions and hearing things - just as if I was having a dream WHILE being conscious and doing the exercise.
Afterwards, I fell asleep and got a nice one and a half hours in - which was like the sweetest nap I've had in a while!
    THANKS!!

Finally! Been using this to fall asleep and works wonders, normally it would take me hours to fall asleep. But sometimes it’s hard to focus when stressed with too many thoughts but it does help when I try to focus on body parts💆🏾‍♀️

What I found most interesting was after scanning my whole body it was almost like my body was giving me sensory overload, like it went from being something I could forget about to being something that I could just about fully take in.

    • @giovannii7519
      @giovannii7519 Рік тому +2

That happened to me too, when I scanned my whole body , I could feel all sorts of vibration when I breathed in and out, in a wave like motion. My body didn't feel divided into limbs but it was one. Pretty cool and refreshing.

This NSDR practice has been a huge help to me. However, I think the intro to it in the audio should be revised since it does contain (much of it) breathwork and mindfulness meditation components.

thank You and big thanks to Andrew Huberman about introducing me with yoga nidra and stuff like non-sleep rest.
make more videos like this!!! with more scientific details!!!
Tips for those who is trying this for first time - make yourself 100% comfortable, i better enjoy laying on bed between pillows than sitting, specially after long day at work. Try not to move at all and at some point you can get at very best rest point for Your body and mind.

This is the best one on UA-cam. Sometimes I only have 10 minutes or even 5. Does anyone know of a video in a similar style but shorter? Or maybe Madefor could do one please? I'm not keen on the nsdr where they, usually women, speak in a soft voice.
