Only in the Japanese versions (both PS1 & Saturn) do they have the Pixie & Nose Devil/Tengu familiars. Also, the Ghost Familiar does not restore health in the US PS1 version.
Despite having more content, the Saturn version is WEIRDLY inferior to the PS1 version due to the graphics of all things. Certain effects are much worse in the Saturn version, and it really hurts the game. In some cases, it can help, like with the Dawn Sword looking like a light-saber, but mostly worse. It's especially weird considering the fact that the Saturn was WAY better at 2D games than the PS1, as it was designed for them. I know that it's because the people who made the Saturn version were inexperienced and didn't have much of a budget, but it's odd to think about l. It's kind of like FFVI on the GBA, now that I think about it. More content, but it's held back by inferior graphics. I think the PSP and PS4 versions fix these things, but it's still worth mentioning.
hmm kinda nit picking and it really doesnt ruin the game. lol. only if ur all about graphics hype. saturn version offers alot more then the ps1. feels like the "complete" package of SOTN. ya saturn is a 2D beast but SOTN was originally made for ps1 hardware. konami could have done alot better on saturn version. or maybe they didnt understand how to make use of the saturn... like many devs at the time. it is possible to achieve transparency on the saturn. or effects to mimick it. theres vids on utube showing this of some games. regardless SOTN on saturn it still looks good to me. prob cause im used to 16bit castlavanias too. bet u loath the gba castlevanias as well.?? since those are inferior graphics as well. HOD and aria are excellent games.
is there any difference between the fairy and the pixie as well as the demon and the N demon. also you forgot to show you can equipt the sword familiar after lvl 50
_Translator:_ Pixie sings and N Demon tells jokes. He was voiced by a Japanese comedian. That's the only difference. I'll think about a sword. Maybe I'll make a video about it.
_Translator:_ The video shows the Saturn version, but as far as I can remember, the PSP version is just a slightly improved version. Familiars should be in the same places as on Sega Saturn. Can you confirm it? PS. I didn't even know PS Vita had its own version of SotN 🤔
_Translator:_ The PS4 version is basically a PSP too. From what I remember, no. You get the Holy Sword (and Muramasa) from the Vandal Sword enemy in the area before the Clock Tower.
- Second Demon and Fairy Familiars that were originally Japanese only were added back in. - Sword Familiar is in a different location. - Boss fight with Maria to obtain the Holy Glasses. - Maria's also playable and plays like she did in RoB although with new movement abilities. - Completely new script and voice acting. - Different credits music.
_Translator:_ The Fairy has a separate video where she sings. Here I just showed where to find her. She doesn't seem to be doing anything more than Faerie.
Sword in saturn much pretty.

Sega Saturn has big problems with transparency. This is one of the reasons why SOTN looks worse.
