The Nissan Frontier. The most underrated and overlooked pick up truck that people should buy, but buy everything else instead.
Because it is ugly. It is one thing if it looked like the Nissan Navara truck instead.
@@chrisx5127 The Navara? OMG that is an ugly truck. The front end looks like it was stretched by an elastic band ... and left there. Looks too narrow. Notice how the side doors are the same as the previous generation Frontier? And the back is too similar to a ford Ranger. I'll take the N.A Frontier any day
Nissan destroyed its name with horrible transmissions they refused to change. Their sales are a direct reflection of poor choices. They need to walk the Gamba, for real.
@@RidersInBlack That the way all Utes look like. Ford Ranger is a Utes as well.
Here's one that didn't overlook it. I owned a new original fully loaded 1986.5 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 manual. That was a fantastic truck. It had a 140 hp v6. I've now treated myself to a new Frontier 4x4, and I'm loving the 310 hp v6 in this new generation even more with all the new technology . It's a real truck with a proper v6 and 9 speed transmission that always finds the correct gear without shifting back and forth continuously. Awesome truck.
i simply loved my Nissan Hardbody 1989,1993,2005.
I paid $13.500 fully loaded for my 1989 Nissan Hardbody!
Such an Amazing Truck!!!
I remember my Hardbody… Bought it after I got my first “real” job. Man if those seats could talk. I don’t think I missed a day of laying pipe in that truck. Cruising the beach after work to find a date, then driving up the PCH to my go to pull off. What I’d give to be back in that truck with a pack of Marlboro Reds, a full tank of gas, and a heart full of passion ready for the giving.
Thanks for the memories!
Essentially a cosmetic package would’ve been nice to see them adding the 4 x 4 components from the Pro 4 X to make it a little bit more off road worthy. other than that I mean it look kind of cool luck
love the retro vibe ...wish other manufactures would do something like this
Thanks Truck King! I think this is a home run for Nissan. They did an excellent job with the hard body frontier.
Nissan needs to offer the electronic rear locker as an option across the board, not just the Pro-4X.
This retro styling looks just amazing!!
I like that Nissan kept it naturally aspirated and not turbo charged
It's possible that they will get rid of the v6 for 2025 or 2026 due to stricter emissions regulations going into effect around that time
@@W0RLDSSMALLESTVI0LINwell President Trump could be back so things could change😊
I don't see those turbo 4 bangers lasting as long as this V6.
@@brad4527trump is too busy complaining about 2020, and even if he becomes president, the guy is so concerned with his own self image he wont do anything. Keep in mind a lot of these restrictions started to get more restrictive under trumps presidency….
To expensive which is to bad
The Hardbody is sick. Can’t wait to get one.
I'd love to see a comparo of all the latest mid size 4x4 and or AWD trucks at the same price point...say 30k or as close to that as each brand can get. Most reviews are of the premium trucks sitting in the expensive range...I'd like to see what working class people can afford.
Nice!!! Love how they produced those original 80s rims...they'll sell fast.. alota peoples parents owned those original hard bodys
Agreed on that , I will like to get those wheels for my 22 frontier. ❤❤❤
A lot of peoples children owned them too!
I owned an original 1986.5 Hardbody . I now have this new generation Frontier, and it's fantastic. So underrated, and I'm so glad I didn't become part of the taco cult. Fantastic truck!
Nissan should do 5yr/100K bumper to bumper. Add a nismo package with extra power and front lockers.
Around here, crew cabs with 6' beds sell immediately. The short bed Pro4x's are collecting dust.
That brings me back to when I was a kid.
Looks Great 👍
Saw pics of the concept version and was wondering if they'd go for it. Glad they did. I liked my first generation Pathfinder.
looks great , love the fact its a V6
Would have been great to be able to get the hard body pack treatment as an option for the SV through PRO4 models. I know, I know, we can't have everything we want.
A nice package - but I still prefer to have a 6 foot bed.
Love the look. It almost looks exactly like my 2023 but these frontiers will be driving the roads in 20 years
Owned a hard body when it came out in 1986.5 good truck. New truck looks good don’t care for the roll bar I always put on a tonneau cover, not a fan of fender flares it covers metal I can’t wax. I wish they put rear differential lock on all 4 wheel trucks as standard. Have a 22 Frontier SV now the 310 horse engine very nice good power just had it on the beach yesterday did awesome. Nissan Frontier, good truck.
I love it! I have 2021 nissan calibre VE 4X2
would like to see an early 90s style pathfinder come back as well.
Love it!
I think the truck looks bad ass. I love it.
I love my 23 Nissan King Cab S model.🤩
Love love love! They kept the V6!! Someone Tacoma should’ve done! Way to go Nissan 👍🏻
Delete the sport bars and decals that is an extremely handsome truck. The fenders and the tailgate are very nice. The all black front is something I've always loved. Some think it's a cheap look but I like the work truck look a the front. Getting that truck in black wouldn't be so nice. Any other colour gives it a nice two tone look.
I like the Hardbody BUT I would prefer a King-Cab version....
Just wish the bed was longer, looks too short, especially with the sport bar, looks gorgeous otherwise!
If they fixed the turning radius and make a front end you can put a winch bumper on, I'd buy one.
I love it, i would get this
For me personally I don’t care for it, I do own a 2022 SV. Though I am glad to see Nissan is trying to up their game finally and become more competitive. Also did they include a rear locker? Otherwise why add the skid plate other than to just add more “stuff”?
I dig it!
needs to come as kingcab
Excellent, love this Frontier ❤❤❤ great trucks , fun to drive and very reliable !! Thanks for giving us that great review information about the truck
Hey Steve!! Will the New Hard body be the subject in the next Truck King LiveShow??
This is badass! First cool thing I’ve seen from Nissan. I’m happy for the fans.
Love love love this Hardbody edition. Thank you Nissan. Looks like I found my next truck.
Great choice Bro, I have a 2022 SV Premium package, and I love it more every day I drive it ❤❤❤ Fun to drive , powerful engine looks great and very reliable.
Nice truck but who wants to see a Frontier Warrior Edition? I do!
Wouldn’t want the sport bar, prefer to have a tonneau cover on the bed. Other than that looks great. Had a 1st year 86.5 hardbody loved it. Great truck.
It looks noice!
Any insight to ventilated front seats? For us older guys living in friggin hot places!! New GM mid sizes and 24 Taco's have it.... 🥵
Will the "new" hard body have a king cab 6' bed option like the original? If not, it doesn't make sense to give it the same name.
I have a 2022 and would like to get 2024 but wish nissan would update their website so you could build a 2024
King, any idea if the HB edition is gonna be released in Canada?
Hardbody is a cool option
Are they adding air vents for the rear crew cab seats?
Love my 23
Stephen, This will be the truck that puts the Tacoma out of business. Watch this space.........😉😉😂🤣
Is the Hardbody package going to be available in Canada as well? You only mentioned US pricing as I was looking at the Nissan Canada web site today and noticed they only show two Pro4X models in Crew Cab configuration for 2024 starting at almost $55K. No other models showing? If this is the case that those are the only models offered then this is probably the end of the Frontier truck in Canada just like they did with the Titan in 2021.
Nissan gives the giant middle finger to the manufacturers that constantly redesign. One of the best of the many trucks I've owned was a 2010 LE crewcab longbed. It did everything well. I traded back to a full size, and often regret not keeping that truck.
I still have one just like it same year, still going strong only had to replace the starter
@@nagantm441 that's a very unique truck. Nice that you kept it!
@@sharkskin3448 yep all I've done is added a modern head unit so I could have wireless android auto and carplay
@@sharkskin3448 it is sad that the current models are just catching up to that now though, when wireless AA/carplay has been around for like 6 years
6ft bed crew cab on this size truck is so awesome and you can get it in a 4x4, dude
Can you get the hard body Edition with a king cab and a 6 ft bed?
would have to get after market rims
For a truck whose current generation started in 2022, the interior looks a decade behind. The heritage wheels are a nice touch. Missed an opportunity to bring heritage cues inside too. Amazed Nissan intends to build these until 2028-29 in the US.
I for one am a fan of it. In terms of pickups I actually appreciate more basic layouts and designs especially if that continues for a long time throughout the model run. To me that means more parts availability, less expensive prices etc if something ever were to go wrong or be damaged.
@@ALMX5DP my wife bought a brand new 2020 because she didn’t want all the bullshit big brother stuff
A lot of people want a standard interior. I for one want a simple interior. I don't want all that technology crap in a truck.
Love the dash on these Frontiers. Looks great. Decade behind my ass..
you say the interior is a decade behind but then you wished they would’ve put more heritage cues on the inside too? i’m so confused 😂
I hope Nissan Brings back the retro silver Frontier with the white steelies with the 6ft bed😊😊😊
Honestly a fully decked out Pro4x is still 10k cheaper than the upcoming Trds/zr2s. Hoping that extra 10k can do the mods
a nice heritage package....another 40k midsize truck...it's crowded market....seems to leave a lot left at the bottom for small trucks; however, the automakers are behind the curve on the small trucks.
No upgrade for the camera system?
My first vehicle was a Nissan Hard body truck - loved it ---- so the New Hard body is a really good call back - I like it
What about the King cab??🎉
I like it
Iiiiiii like it! But, I can't decide if I want the regular Pro-4X, or the Hard body. Decisions, decision, decisions! My last Nissan truck was a 1993 Hardbody. Hmmm.
Hardbody is Kick-Ass
Take my money
We dont get the short bed sv in canada so i expect if we get it itll be based already more expensive pro4x
I don't think the Hardbody package will be offered in Canada as currently the Nissan Canada website only shows two models for the Frontier for 2024 and they are both Crew Cab Short box Pro4X no other models are showing. Even in the description write up it states "...starting at $54, 783.00 ..."
They could’ve added tilt and telescopic steering wheel on 2024 models.
why does it look like it is lifted? we have had the SL in america for the last model as a limited trim
Are we going to see the hybrid in 🇨🇦?
Prices need to drop 10 grand
Nicely done retro look. Never care for the “Sport bar” look…
It needs to be a 6 speed manual n I’d buy
I'm not sure what all the hype is about. It's identical to the 2023 Nissan Frontier pro-4X in my driveway but with different wheels and a bit more black trim.
They need a 2in lift on the pro4x. The hardbody edition should come with a 1 in lift.
Easy to add in your own.
Its rad
Great video TK! Is there a two-door, long bed variant of the hardbody or is it a trim only on the 4-door? I like that the NA V6 is still there. Cool truck! Edit and the king cab. Is it the price leader?
Owned an '87 Hardbody. Great truck, excellent 4 cylinder engine.
Great , love the looks of this 87-88 year, very reliable trucks , I drive the one with the V6 engine , it ride nice and smooth ❤❤
Looks pretty cool!
hardbody edition shouldve been cheaper option. for 40 im going with the pro4x
I really like the Hard Body edition. Nice looking truck.
Is there going to be other colors?
Oh damn. I like that. A lot (sadly, not enough to overlook the ridiculous interest rates we currently have). In any other economic climate, I would definitely be talking to a Nissan dealer, but here in reality, I'll just wish and hope for a lottery win...
Can you tell us what the ground clearance is?
Ranges from 8.6- to 9.5-inches depending on the model. That is specifically for the front differential, which is the lowest hanging component.
Rear differential ranges from 8.9- to 9.8-inches of ground clearance.
Hope Australia gets that version, looks awesome👍
Looks bad ass! I would go for that one.
I would have prefered the extended cab.
Looks great, but missing couple things would have made it more awesome and would make it sell like crazy.
Locking differential option,
Six speed manual,
And a base four cylinder engine to put it well under 30k starting price.
I need truck king decal
Thank u truck king! With 2024 approaching seems all midsize trucks are redesigned. I'm on the fence with Nissan. How will this do not just on road but off road ? Up against the colorado trail boss and zr2 look wise I think Nissan did a good job. Will you be able to lift this and add bigger tires? The wheel wells look a big cramped. Again, will this match against other midsize trucks off road?
Nissan should make it with a 8ft. bed option
put the tali gate down and there ya go on the 6ft bed.😂😅😊 kidding.
more $$.
I want the King Cab loaded.
Does it have wireless android auto though?
This new Hardbody throwback isnt available in King Cab?
Nope. SV Crew Cab 4x4 only.
Seems strange as the King Cab truck better matches the classic Hardbody style.
@@TruckKing yeah that was my thought too. Kinda stinks since it would be quite easy for them to slap that stuff on the King Cab and call it a win.
looks like I will be looking forca 2023 for a king cab then
Base price in Canadian copeks is $43,783 for a Frontier King Cab S 4x4. And after fees taxes and levies, just over $62,000....
That's ridiculous for a base model.
I went to build/price, very little to choose from!
Cheers
I really like the Hardbody throwback, but would much rather have it with the Kingcab! Anyone else?
Yes sir!
I totally want the 6ft bed and the Silver one with the white Steelies
4 people total, not a good idea
The old hardbody looks so much better than this new one.
I wish they have improvement in the steering wheel.
Hit it out of the park
