Remember everyone..... The "Midsize" trucks today are a what full-size trucks used to be.... Kunda insane. Definitely in the market for one today tho..... I want that V6 before it goes away to 4 cylinder turbos.

I hear ya, I used to love Nissans in the mid 2000s , but there overall quality has taken a nose dive in the last decade. You may be right about this new frontier though, it sounds great on paper. We will see if the setup lasts and is dependable. I just got a 22 Tacoma and am so far happy with it, but it's boring and tight in size. Definitely debating on keeping it til the wheels fall off or eventually trading it for something a bit more exciting. The verdict is out, these new trucks and prices are out of control. We are living in the last days of true American muscle, it's a crap shoot now wether or not these new trucks will even stand the test of time. Enjoying the honest videos, look forward to seeing more in the future 👍@@revnation_auto

Couldn't agree more with you on bed lengths. I have little to no use for a bed shorter than 6'. Knowing full well I'm in the minority here, this trend of ever shrinking beds is unfortunate. 4' and 4.5' beds are completely useless for my needs. I don't want a full size truck and it would be nice if a 'small'(not mid sized) truck with good mpg's and a 6' bed was still a thing. Great segment sir. As a work, get stuff done and camping w/ camper shell vehicle, I'd opt for the S. Since I don't live in, drive 8-10 hrs daily, I'd rather spend money on creature comforts, gadgets/gizmos and luxuries on where I live instead of in what I drive.

Whoever makes a mid or full-size hybrid truck getting 35mpg or better will own the entire market. After $11/gal fuel, the mindset of the entire country shifted. I’ve told this to the press reps from nearly every OEM.

Ditto, My 2019 Pro 4X is just fine for my truck bed / towing needs. And $1200 8x5 trailer can haul more than my Nissan's bed can if I need that much room, and it stays at home when not needed, so it doesn't suck gas when not in use.@@Blue-moon12

@jeanclaude7018 lol yeah I think thats the line between old-school trucks meant for actually puting stuff in the bed & not being main vehicle, and basically "SUV's with more ground clearance and cab-cargo seperation".
But theres enough practicality in the short beds for, like, homeowners who enjoy yardwork, for example. Which is probably alot of utility for alot of ppl, vs people who have jobs and actually need to haul like plywood for example (then get a full size truck because its work now)
But sure seems to me alot of ppl just want a truck to have it as a status thing these days. Like the guy I saw yesterdat leaving his downtown apartment's parking garage in his full size ram with a lift kit on it. Lol yes steve, do you tell you coworkers at happy hour that your the outdoorsy type or something so you needed a Ram Rebel?

    • @MarkTrades__
      @MarkTrades__ 6 місяців тому

@jeanclaude7018 well said haha. Yeah when I started to aspire to trucks as I had been working for a while & am a big diyer, the false-proportions, and cost of the full size trucks turned me away very quick. See a BIG huge truck at a car show, pop the hood and.... A turbo-4xylinder is buried like 1.5 feet down in the engineer bay? I just laughed. Then it costs $55k (like say 2015-2016 time). I checked out of that quick. Now they ruined the new Tacoma and you can pay almost $70k MSRP for one of those? Nah I'm sticking to used market stuff made before 2020 now.

Ive been wanting to get one of these for months now but Nissan refuses to run special financing or rebates on them. I think this is the best truck in the midsize segment by far. Love the Ranger. My first truck was an 85 Ranger 2wd manual with the 6 foot bed. I parted ways with that truck almost thirty years ago and I still think about it.

There are a lot of Rangers on FB marketplace. 2wd manual 6-7ft bed are a little harder to find but they are out there. Parts are cheap, so don’t be afraid if they need some work. Paid $2,500 for mine and have about $1,500 into it. Worth every penny.
Nissan doesn’t do a good job managing their truck division. You’ll be able to negotiate a good bit of money off of it but you’ll need to start that well before you show up. I’ll make a video on how to do this.

I bought a 24 sv long bed last week in dark gray. Swfl dealers are still trying to add "packages " and market adjustment to vehicles. You just have to tell them to get f*cked. Then start from msrp and negotiate. Msrp was 43,300 and we ended at 40k. Not the best, but not the worst. But its not a turbo 4 cylinder either. Best thing to do, is find one that's been sitting at the desler for a while...over 100 days if you can. Those are the ones they need to move first

WHERE is the LONG BED, LWB SV???? With LWB SV you get more value, and in my opinion a better looking truck .
It's got a longer wheelbase, a 6FT bed with Utili-track and factory spray-on bedliner, heated seats, steering wheel & outside mirrors, etc.. But if you must have decals, Lava-red highlights and Bilsteins for "off road" then the Pro 4X is for you. BTW, same base MSRP.

Theres a car lot by me that has a hundred of these frontiers waiting to be sent out for fleet use. Not the pro4x but the standard 4x4 model. What i can tell you being a taco owner is that although the frontier is a good truck, you're much better off going with a 3rd gen taco if you can find one for a decent price. Pulling up next to these in comparison, the Tacoma is just buit better. No panel gaps no rough edge detailing. Better stronger build in general. But if you can find a frontier for a steal it probably will still be a solid truck. I think they will be more dependable than the new 24 Tacoma imo, so that's the upside. Always a better choice to go with your standard naturally aspirated engine than these newer turbo models. So i applaud Nissan for sticking to the basics and putting out a dependable truck. 👍

They are all over priced. Not just Nissan but all makes. Toyota is even worse. Their TRD is 50k plus. There is not a new mid size truck made that should have a starting cost over 25k. and most of the "packages" should be standard equipment. Its ridiculous and what the fuck, a destination fee. LOL on top of dealer mark ups. Its criminal.

A real truck should have more torque than horsepower. This is a VQ engine that belongs in a sports car from the 2000s

It is a bit low. A lot of aftermarket support to help with that

Pro X in the gray (lunar rock Tacoma) color. My TRD off road premium Tacoma still looks better and will last longer, but these Nissans are really nice trucks as well.

I owned a Know 2021 Tacoma Trd off-road, and it was a great truck. The powertrain, ride quality, And cabin, refinement are better in the frontier.

"REAL truck users" don't drive turbo 4 cylinder trucks like the Tacoma, Colorado and Ranger.
