- This video is about BUILDING an ULTIMATE RC DRIFT YOKOMO YD-2ZX! This RC drift car build of YOKOMO YD-2ZX and YOKOMO Supra A90 body shell were done by Timmy Woo.

*Please note that:
The video shown is not whole setup process.
There are 4 additional washers required, part no. ZC-S37 under the servo( above of servo mount) in order not to bend the main chassis.
The YOKOMO YD-2ZX chassis is only contained chassis itself. Electronic parts and some items are not included in the YD-2ZX chassis package.
The Electronic parts and items that are used in the video are sold separately out of YD-2ZX chassis, including:
1. YOKOMO R160 ESC
2. YOKOMO Zero 3 10.5T sensored brushless Motor
3. YOKOMO SP-03D V2 programmable brushless servo
4. YOKOMO YG-302 gyro
5.Futaba 7PX with receiver
6.YOKOMO YD-2 Rear ESC Mount Set
7.YOKOMO Racing Performer cooling fan
8. Motor Wires
9. Motor and battery connectors
10. Bearing oil
11. RC Car threadlocker (screw glue)
12. YOKOMO spacer shims (For reducing the gap and the movement of control arms, but it should be added without any resistance created between control arms and suspension mount)
13. Team associated black grease (YOKOMO YD-2ZX package includes a plastic bags that injected with black grease)

15.YOKOMO DRC tires
16. YOKOMO tire mounting tape
17. YOKOMO LiPo 3500 mAh/7.4V 100C battery

*Some NEW features are observed:
1.Flexible high traction graphite double decks as well as light-weighting overall chassis.
2. The chassis side mounting is designed to enable the flexibility of upper deck which has smooth steering feel without interfering the bend of main chassis.
3.The steering servo is mounted on the lower deck to improve the center of gravity.
4. The Z-series gearbox is equipped with a special motor mount and high heat sink, which is featured quick change differential and possibility of adjusting 7 stages of motor positions.
5. By setting the motor to a higher position, the battery can move closer to the rear axle to adjust weight balance without compromising performance.
Some luxurious aluminum parts such as the front bulkhead, suspension mount, shock tower, and big bore shock, making it a high-quality machine configuration.
Some parts that are newly designed for YD-2ZX:
Aluminum upper deck adapter (front side)
Aluminum upper deck adapter (rear side)
Graphite upper deck
Aluminum servo stay
Aluminum servo horn

Epic build you did there and damm the results are stunning. Iam more of a basher but since I build the tamiya tt02 amg I now have a drifter kit incoming 👌🏻 you and a couple of others give me the inspiration to start build a driftcar. Keep up making content it's a great learning for everyone 🤙🏻

where did he show the settings? do you have a link, please?
@@chico368 If you’re experienced, you can copy most of the useful settings from this video with your eyes. His settings would work on ptile or carpet, not for super slippery ceramic tile.

Thank you very much😊 I compressed because I want the rebound more stiffer and compress softer, but it is highly depending on the track surface and layout. Different track, different settings.

Thank you❣️ I would say both chassis are different, so it should be used on different track and surface. The main difference between ZX and SX3 is the flexibility of chassis and centre of gravity. ZX chassis is featured that is much flexible and low centre of gravity which is providing great rear traction and stability on slippery and low speed surface. While SX3 is performing well for medium grip surface, it provides stability of the chassis for some higher speed track.

I noticed you spaced your rear lower arms forward with the 2.5mm spacers for 5mm spacing behind it, I assume that means you have to account for that with spacers on the damper balls on the lower arms? can you tell me what size? am I right in assuming just 2.5mm? also what pinion/spur gear set are you running? :) cheers
Thank you! All settings and installation of the chassis, I was following the original instructions. Gear is also original.
Pinion gear: 24T
Spur gear: 84T

hey timmy, Im trying to tune my YD2-E thats fully upgraded with every upgrade available at this stage.. I drift only on slippery polished concrete as a reference.. but I've got two sets of springs the D170 and the new yokomo progressive competition springs, the D170 pink/green feel nice but the rear set has too much weight on them.. so thats why i bought the new spring set.. my question is would I be better running the longer and softer D170 green spring in the front because it offers more lift to transfer weight, or the Linear competition Red spring thats shorter but much firmer? what would you choose? or do you have a spring combination you would recommend. :) cheers
