My pleasure!!!! Amazing! That's what I want to hear😁🤘 have fun, don't worry about mistakes just learn from them it's going to happen! Can fix with vinyl and practice makes perfect! ✌️
This video is awesome. So proud of you.
Really appreciated this video!! About to start painting a bunch of bodies... Needed some pointers and tips, and this wrapped that up in a bow. Thanks a million! 11 bodies to paint seems less daunting now!! Excited to lay down my own colors, I got some high end glow in the dark/UV reactives I need to use, going to put in some blacklight L.E.D.'s to make my radiation paints POP!!! Very stoked now, enjoy rippin up that supra!!
Amazing! 👊 I'm happy to hear my video helped you out! Thanks for the nice comment! Woww 11 body's that's a lot of work! You will be a pro by the end of those! Ahah enjoy painting✌️
I've never done one of these before and somehow wandered here. Man this is WAY more work than I ever would have thought. Great video!
I'm glad you found my video!! You can always start of with just one of two colors to make it easier! Hope you learned something new!🙂
Just wow,superb ❤

AMAZING techniques And video
Thanks👊 I appreciate it 🙂
I’ve always wanted to see how it’s done from the beginning to the end. Thanks for sharing!👍
Awesome!! My pleasure! Glad my video helped make the process easier, happy painting! 😎👊✌️
Love that you kept the mistakes in, man. it makes it feel more natural and we are bond to make mistakes but there is always a solution!
Thanks!! 👊 We learn the best from mistakes! Nothing to hide over here 😃 100% you got it! Thanks for watching✌️
Nice. Looks great. Some tips are probably still outside my skill range.( Cutting decals and masking). But I learned alot. Can't wait to paint my Tamiya Celica body.
Awesome glad to hear that👊 practice makes perfect! You got this! Can practice techniques on small pieces or scrap! Happy painting
The little basement/mancave you got is so badass man very nice, awesome video !
Ayee 👊 thanks so much I appreciate it 🙂✌️
Perfectly done ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!! I appreciate that😁👊✌️
Nice video, love your attitude! I would have a hard time overcoming those paint flaws, but you har a perfect solution. Never saw someone use real tint and not spraycans, cool! End result is good 🤩
Thank you so much for your feedback! I appreciate the kind words! I did feel pretty defeated at the moment especially doing a video on it all LOL but vinyl for the win again! 🙂 I use to wrap Cars for a living so I use a lot of vinyl for my hobby!
Amazing paint job man rad video Subscribed
Thanks👊 I appreciate it, welcome aboard!! 🙂
Thank you for the Tutorial 👍
My pleasure! 👊✌️
Another awesome tutorial from IRONSIDE!!! Thanks for the tips mate! My favorite tip which I never thought of, was using the dry erase marker on the outside of the body! Seems to work so good. I always just use a regular sharpie since the outer protective film protects the actual body but I like the idea of being able to erase mistakes in the lines or if deciding to change it up! I look forward to your next video bro! :D
Ayee!! Thanks 👊 appreciate the kind words! Yeah dry erase works so nice. I changed up my design a ton of times so if I couldn't erase would've been so confusing LOL.
Hello,
Very Nice work from you!👍
Greetings Seven🖖
Thanks Seven!!!! 👊😄✌️🙏
nice man. thanks for your vid
My pleasure!! Happy painting! Thanks for your comment👊😃
Great video, Thank you so much. New to all this and looking for pointers and by far this has been the best video.
My pleasure! Thanks for the nice comment and feedback I appreciate it😊👊 happy painting
@IRONSIDE_RC Have to admit Oscar might of stole the show. Lol
@@IRONSIDE_RC 👊
Nice job!
Thanks 👊 I appreciate it🙏
Looks great and don't worry about the overspray as you managed to recover the overall job. By the way, we all learn best from our very own mistakes.
Aye thanks👊🙂 yeah 💯 very true words
Thanks and I love your cat..
Awesome!! Oscar loves you too aha! He likes to keep me company in the hobby cave and I'm always so grateful aha
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great looking car. Couple things I like to do. 1) use window tint paint. 2) use water soap mix, and hairdryer to install difficult stickers. See if you like it. Thanks
Thanks👊 Never tried those methods! Thanks for sharing, I'll give them a try!
Good save!
NGL u removed the masking and I said “oh that looks awful!” But u saved it in the end good shit!!
🤣🤣 Thanks I appreciate. Was my exact words too. Vinyl for the win! 🙂👊✌️
I’ve never seen windows tinted that way, very good. I use PS31 smoke
It's my go to!! So easy. I've always had the material on hand from when I use to wrap real cars. Hense why I use vinyl a lot for my designs to! Never tried the spray tint I'll have to check your rigs see how it turns out!
🔥
Hi love your cat his like mine when i am doing something
Hello!! Aha cats are the best they just always want to be around you and have your attention. Everytime I go in my hobby cave it's a matter of minutes before Oscar climbs down the ladder and joins me ahha he knows the sound of the door opening 😅
Thank you for this video, this will help a lot. Very nice work.
What kind of tint do you use and where do you get it? That looks so much better than black paint on the under body or decals on the outside.
Thank you!! I appreciate it👊 glad you found it helpful! The tint is made by xpel. It's a dyed ppf film. Might to hard to find I got it when I use to work in a shop!
It's cool how it looks like a hot mess in the beginning and then turns into an art piece at the end. Very nice job there. Are the rims actually metal? They look really nice. Thanks for the lesson. I look forward to doing my first one.
Ahah yeah it's quite the transformation! Thanks for the nice comment🙂👊 hope your first body goes well!
Hi friend, excellent work, I look beautiful! What are the ps codes of the tamiya inks used?
Hello! Thanks👊🙂 ps-1 white. Ps-63 bright gun metal. Ps-5 black and ps-2 red
The best way I've used to remove overspray before applying the next color is using q-tips and Nitro fuel. Clean with alcohol after the nitro
Ouu interesting! I'll maybe give that a try next time if I have that issue again!
@IRONSIDE_RC yeah bro, works great! Que tips, and Hobby Lobby sells cue tips with very fine cone shaped tips for tight spots. Popsicle sticks work good in spots as well.
I always do black last. Make your design and cover the windows, I blacken all windows so I do them last and the color pops.
Clean af bro but gawd dammmm it’s gonna take a min to complete
Thanks!!!👊 yeah painting a body is a process! But it's very enjoyable!
complete beginner here. my tt02 had like, silver plastic headlight housings and is led compatible. do i apply the sticker to that plastic housing or the interior when painting?
Hello! I've never had silver headlight housings before always clear and I've had to paint. If yours are already painted then I would apply stickers on the headlight housing then install in body. Hope this helps
Quick question for the tail lights you leave outside clear? Paint inside silver? And just use red bulb ?
For taillights and headlights you leave it clear on the body just tape them off on inside or use provided light Masks. You would paint the light buckets black or silver usually you can install stickers or cut to make actual led bulb fit! Those get mounted inside the body. Leaving the body clear makes you see the light buckets on the inside giving it a realistic tailight appearance. Hope this helps
Which mesh wheels are these? Looks great!
Hello! They are MST adjustable offset rims. Unfortunately I don't know the exact name of them. Hope this helps✌️
Are there any Tamiya kits that come with precut decals and parts without clipping them from plastic trees.
Hello! I'm honestly not to sure about that one! All the ones I have done have been like this one in video!
Cat is showing off to the ladies ;)
😅 he always does, such an attention seeker 🤪
What kind of paint do you use? Is there specific paint necessary? Or can I use typical Rust-Oleum?
Hello! I would recommend the tamiya paint. Has to be PS - polycarbonate approved because the lexan rc body's are very flexible. Normal spray paint like rust- Oleum would Crack and flake off after some hits and movement / flex
do you think i can use normal acrylic paints (with brushes) and do my own design?
You wouldn't want to use normal paint on these lexan bodies, the paint needs to bond well and flex I would only use PS paint for polycarbonate
What was the time between the different layer sprays? An hour or so to slightly dry up or less?
30mins to 1hr depends on how think you did. I'd do light coats and you can tell when it's dry. Once it is spray again
Thick*
One question brotha, how do you cut the wheel so clean? I've always struggled on cutting the wheel clean.
Scoring the lexan with an exacto blade on the body lines is the best way to get clean cuts you can see in this video. Also check out my how to cut and install clear windows video I demonstrate this method in that video also! Good luck✌️
What wheels you running they look nice 👌
I am also interested in those wheels please 🙏 they are sick..great paint job btw 🤙🤙
Hey thanks I appreciate it👊🙂 I can't remember the exact name of the wheels I've had them for years. They are a drift rim made by MST though and have adjustable offset! Hope that helps
Hello, where can I buy this Sticker Sheet in black for free design?
Hello! Check online, some brand names are vivid vinyl, hexis, 3m, Avery denision!
Where do i find that window stripe tape?
The window tint is expel ppf died black!
If every viewer was to subscribe this man would have 18 thousand subscribers now what would it hurt you to subscribe and he's helping you and you automatically should
That is a crazy thought!!! 😎 would be awesome! Thanks for the support I appreciate the comment👊🤘
Subscribed just for don’t eat the TT-02 😂
🤣 Yesss! 👊🤘
How do I measure the body to fit my chasis, is it by the wheelbase or width?
Deffinately wheelbase Is the most important! If your wheels don't line up will have rubbing and steering issues! Width is good also to match up with your rim offset. If you search your chassis online can usually find the wheelbase and width pretty easy or look in you instruction manual
@@IRONSIDE_RC awesome, thanks for getting back to me. I build a drift RC a while back but I’m getting back into it and I was just drifting without a body now I want one. Thanks for the help
Acrylic paint?
Tamiya PS paint. Polycarbonate. It's good for lexan plastic rc body's because paint flexible so it doesent Crack easy
Where did you buy the rims
Hello! I believe there mst rims with adjustable offset. I bought them years ago from a hobby store. I honestly put them on for the picture as they look so nice. I don't actually race with them lol
How long In-between coats ?
30mins - 1hr!
Where can I get the window tint?
Hello! It's Expel died ppf film. You might be able to find online. It's died ppf to be like tailight tint for vehicles. I got it from where I use to work wrapping cars!
The cat😂😂
😹😾
Oscar own's that car :)
🤣🤣
🎉🎉🎉🎉😎😎🙏🙏🙏
😁👊✌️
Just take your time. Think darkest to litghtest ! Slow down or get hair dryer not heat gun you will melt it .
Your right! Good tips! 👊
Hey Oscar, don't do that to the car lol 5:13
🤣 my hobby buddy gets out of line sometimes thinking everything is a toy 😆
Where u buy the Supra?
Hello! I bought it from a friend that didn't want it for some reason🤪 it came with tamiya tt02 chassis kit supra gr version!
Great Video but wrong title should've called it the Oscar show!!!
Thanks!!! 👊 ahah yeah seriously 😅
Why cut holes?? You can use hidden mounts instead
Hello! Good question! If it was a drift or lowrider build I wouldn't cut the holes. But for racing for the extra security of holes and clips its worth it for the peace of mind knowing the body can't fly off
ahhh i see that makes sense@@IRONSIDE_RC
タイヤのグリップ剤を塗られているときは猫がタイヤを噛むのは危ないです。
Thanks! Trust me I didn't let them chew long 😅 no tire compound either just plastic tire
Your cats is high from the paint fumes 😅😅
🤣😝 can't be... it's a common accurance here
Use magnet mounts, don't use Body Post. Body Post make your bodies look horrible
I agree 100% ahah! But this is for racing!! Can't have the body flying off need the posts! For my drift body's I use magnets way more scale! 😎🤓🤘
It's beautiful but way too much over spray!!!!!!!
Thanks! Aha agreed it happens sometimes but vinyl for the win!
Your cat likes rc cars :-)
Aha yeah I think so! Once that hatch opens Oscar has to come down
@@IRONSIDE_RC 🐱
The music makes this video really annoying.
👍👍 Then find another one.
Dude, you really should explain something, when you are doing the work, instead of playing music. And you are doing so much wrong while painting. I bet the colors did not last long on this.@@IRONSIDE_RC
Enough of the cat already
🤣 I can't help it, I love cats
THE PAINT MAY BE GOOD, BUT THE APPLICATION OF THE MASK WAS POORLY DONE. THEN THE VIDEO SHOULD BE CALLED: HOW NOT TO PAINT AN RC BODY.
LOL... get a life.
I was thinking can I use normal aerosol spray? and do you sand the inside before painting?
I don't recommend doing that! Normal paint won't flex and it will Crack and chip after time! No don't sand it will scratch up the surface
You are good with a razor blade so you should just use liquid masking
Thanks! I will have to try it out!! Never used before, maybe next body
@@IRONSIDE_RC you won’t regret it
We’re do live at thats a mansion. Are you hiring ? Am tired of living in a studio
Ahah I wish I could hire people! Maybe one day. Thanks for the comment👊😃
Where’d you get those chrome rims
Honestly not to sure so long ago! But they are MST brand name wheels and they are the adjustable offset style!
I want a mk5 supra for my real life car, unfortunately i have to make do with a 94 mr2 gts as a daily driver instead :(
Dudeeeee..... at least you have a mr2. Oh man that's my dream car. 93 t top turbo right hand drive is my dream car same year I was born😁
@@IRONSIDE_RC well thanks, i have a trop blue 94 and its the turbo model, great little cars...oh and a losi 8ight
-e 2.0, y im here :) saw the supra so i was gonna click on the vid
