Nah I want them to do burnout cars. Like, i want them to be allowed to pick the car/chassis, have a budget, and then set the goal of beating the other in a burnout comp.
Corporate Donut, gambling innuendo with awkward acting because it's weird but people need their jobs. Edit: skipped through at least half of the episode. Too cheesy.
Let it be noted that even the "cheap" parts they used are WAY more expensive than they needed to be. 130$ for a steering servo? You can get full aluminum gearbox servos for less than 50$ and are waterproof.
A good RC shop will allow a customer to wander around the floor. Meanwhile watching and listening to his prey. When the hunter is satisfied, he will move in and upsell all the single parts that have a good chance of being nothing more than a peg warmer. The ready to go dragsters with a bit of upgrades are pretty awesome. This RC shop saw these guys a mile away. 😂
Tip for drag racing/speed runs with RC cars: Get the trim as dialed in as possible with the car going straight, then when you race, use that trim dial to make small steering adjustments. Using the steering wheel to make steering adjustments at high speeds at that scale will almost always cause a crush, unless you have a high quality servo, transmitter, and remote setup.
🤣🤣🤣just turn down your steering dual rate. wtf are you talking about steer with yout trim knob. not to mention im willing to bet with that nb4 the steering trim is buttons on the touch screen unless you program it to a dial which i believe there is only 1 of, and we all know assigning buttons isnt in their wheelhouse.
You could just turn the dual rate down to 20 and slow channel timing down. Needs a throttle curve instead of a linear line. They’re not using gyro to keep the car straight under heavy acceleration. Drop the bec voltage to 6v to slow the servo.
@@TheProDucky.. yep, well unless dodge is making another challenger , but there charger is becoming electric and Camaros are gone, corvettes still got a v8 but pretty sure they’re done with those too for now
As a budding RC guy (real cars are 'spensive) this was a cool concept. This was entertaining, but people want answers and this gave none. No specs, no times, no even comparisons; we just want an outcome on the cars, not just on 2 guys driving skills that have never done this before. Maybe not everyone wants the spec sheets and deep dive like me, but there was a lot more at play here than just the cost. Why are the internals more expensive and what advantage did they actually offer?
RC internals start with the bearings. Ceramic bearings are pricey. Add steel gears, carbon fiber parts. It adds up fast. I've been in the hobby for 35+ years.
They aren't. The ESC and motor is the most expensive. The batteries run a close race tho. Quality LiPo packs (4s ) can be a nearly $250-$300 each, with alot of cars using 2 of them. upgraded gears and driveshafts (for AWD and 4x4) and axles are just stronger and sometimes lighter. The stock ones might last for a few runs but will quickly fail. When u dump that much power into the transmission or spool or center diff (depending on ur setup) plastic gearing will strip. You have to go thru the car and upgrade the other components to handle the power of the motor and ESC your using. Then you have to dial the car in. Set end points, travel, adjust clutches and diff fluids and camber and toe. There's ALOT they didn't show. Also, The faster the rc the more things to consider and tune. I have a 163mph top speed rc build and I can tell u that when u start getting close to triple digit speeds with them...aerodynamics and downforce is a HUGE factor as well. This episode was entertaining, not educational because they didnt go into any details or anything. It definitely was made for people with more knowledge of the hobby.

There are many tuning factors. 0 toe control arms? remove grease /seals from bearings and add oil instead. Esc tuning, slipper clutch tuning, tire balance? Tire prep? Shock tuning ? Money doesn't always make you faster.
