Rd-02s and RDX’s have cemented themselves as the gold standards from what i have seen locally and at other tracks. great place to start (kit wise) and the car can grow with you as a driver. Its all about seat time and having a car that is mostly dialed out of the box saves a lot of headache and less fuss when getting into the hobby.
Dude you have the best voice made to do this , I !ean it's something about your voice that makes your videos seem super professional and made to listen to, they would pay you just for the sound of your video voice , it's not hard to listen to, like some voices we've had to listen to that distracted us from just what we supposed to be paying attention to, your voice makes us expect to hear something important or useful or that we need to hear, I don't know if anyone has took the time to tell you this, so here I am...thanks
@Rgthree27 outta everything I said that's all you took from it, yeah cool, thanks for being so sensitive to the things that make one seem gay, but sorry you gone have to keep looking, I'm not gay or grayish, my nuts still hang pretty low , infact this would be your perfect time to slide out that closet while it's so many others sneaking out maybe most won't notice but you can't go back in you do know this right, so just pop out , but don't say here I go, say something like so where we going , and then it won't be so much about you, it would be about what's next , you feel me, and the van might be a lil crowded cause it's some sh-t of y'all, so y'all gone be deep, I mean loaded, I mean jammed packed, smh so why now talking to you every word or phrase sounds gay, see it's hard to talk to y'all gay MF, see what I mean , and that wasn't meant to be gay either , just can't say hard, or jammed, or packed, or but with only one T , it all sounds just as gay as you my boy, smh I did it again didn't I, look imma end this here , you win , at least you out or did you even pop out yet, so all this time I been typing you still inside , nigga come out , they gone leave you watch .... Can't be gay alone now , it takes two or more .... Tighten up
Very well explained videos with good content, great views and no "you should by this or that" comments. You're commenting about your experience and that's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you 8)
That's debatable. Lol. They're in probably the top 3 but the top 3 is so close, it's almost based on personal opinion which one gets the 1, 2 and 3 spots.
yess. another amain video. lets gooo. Guys, i highly recommend to squeeze the trigger more when accelerating rather than pushing it. It takes some time to get used to, but your drifts get smoother and dont get out of control as easily. This also helps when you have really loose traction conditions or the 'not so fitting'-tires. A little off topic: Brett, are you planning on reviewing the new FZ02-R from Kyosho? I would love to see that. In any case, I love the videos and always be a little bit happier when a new one gets uploaded. Keep it up. Greetings. -Daniel.
I'll tell ya what, after adding up everything you put into the car that started out at $209, it ended up at $963.99 before any Tax ,so all I can say is I sure hope it's better than an RTR since it's 2 ta 3 times the price. Of course that's just for the car and parts, not the radio you listed, if you add that the new total is $1,663.00 pre-tax LOL ...
The front Yokomo body mounts actually have a problem with the screw being too long, or the shock tower being too thin. Use 8mm instead of 10mm bolts, or a couple 3mm washers to shim things out. They will tighten down nice and solid with those modifications.
A bunch of us are coming out from the bay area/Sacramento on the 1st of June to check out the new drift track! Cannot wait to check the new building too
this was the one that i needed to see.. i want in on the hobby but i dont want to pay 500 to get going this wont be somehing that destroys me .... .thanks for the review!
FYI, what you see him driving in the video cost $963.99 before tax and not including a transmitter and reciever. It's a kit, it requires brushless motor, esc, gyro, servo, wheels, tires, body ,paint and many other odds and ends. If you include the radio and reciever he's usuing, that alone cost $700.00 dollars. But if you have your own and you want this same set up he's running, it can be had for a hair under a grand.. so not to be confused, this $210.00 dollar kit won't move let alone perform how it is in this video without installing everything he's usuing and that's how you get to $963.99 not including tax. It's a great setup, but extremely expensive 👍🏼💯
That's subjective so it's impossible to answere. What one guy thinks is the number one rc for bashing, a hundred others would say he's wrong. But at the end of the day they're all fun, it comes down to what your looking to do, what your terrain is, are you hitting massive jumps or cruising through the desert, do you like 2x4 or 4x4, monster trucks or short course, buggys or crawlers , Thers just too many variables to give a one all fits all answere.
So if anyone's been tracking USD to YEN you'll know currently you can get 155Y for every $1. Yokomo sells this for the equivalent of $127 vs US retail $209. Yes yes, I get shipping, storage, tax, yada yada but if you're going to japan anyway, c'mon!
I got a cheap eBay Saura D5 MR V2 drift kit for 150 and I put a Futaba GYD550 in it and a Futaba HPS-CD700 servo with Hobbywing Xerung Drift combo and It has been doing better than all the expensive drift cars at the track. The electronics is what makes a big difference. I painted a nice body and looking at it you would think it is a 4k drift car. When you remove the body you can tell it is an eBay special, lol.
Been doing a lot of research on rc drift cars and debating on buying a kit like this or buying a rtr from yokomo or mst, can you give me some ideas on what to get? Should i go your route? Or go the rtr route and mod it?
You should give the Redcat RDR a new review with the upgrades they put out last month. Throw in some new electronics. That car is amazing once upgraded.
Hmmm... I see that with a cockpit FPV camera, on a servo controlled 180 degree swivel. Use a channel for a head tracking gyro setup. That way, I can see where the car is actually going which isn't terribly straight ahead. LOL
Looks pretty sweet. If I had a drift track nearby, or enough room to make one, I'd definitely be looking to grab one... I think a micro crawler will be the next RC that I get (crawl over books and stuff)
why'd you weigh them without the battery though :-s you made a point of mentioning that the battery was moved back further to shift more weight back, but then didn't show the effect :(
I like the idea of drift but it's kinda boring how slow they are, maybe they need a different tire compound or maybe go back to 4 wheel drive I dunno. Also bigger wider tracks maybe ?
Never heard of 1/8th Nitro OnRoad cars?! 😂 In that category, we're talking about €900 for the kit, €550 for engine and exhaust, €30 for a set of tires, €65 for 4 liters (a bit more than a US gallon) of fuel, €300 for two servos, €40 for the receiver battery, €200-700 for the radio. If you want to partecipate in a race, bare in mind around €150 of budget if you don't break anything. Sooo, rc drifting IS NOT expensive my rc colleague. Bare in mind that those competition models, like the 1/8th buggy and truggy, are worn very quickly, with many parts needing replacement very often.
While you’re making your corrections / complaints, the Nissan GT-R nismo is a GT3 car, an example of a touring car would be a BTC-T Honda civic type R or BMW 330e M sport, both compete in the British TOURING CAR championship. If you’re gonna complain at least complain correctly.
best car in the world wont help you drive good!! can tell when someone has no idea how to drift..guys look up a real drift tutorial video with real cars and it will help you to understand how drifting is achieved then apply to rc car
Can’t lie. Indoor drift courses has gotta be the most boring form of RC. For the price of a high end drift car you could make a good 1/10th e buggy that would be WAY more fun at a dirt track
Imagine the RD 2.0 as a RTR... it would be easier for beginners to hop right in.

props to the guy that chased it around the track to get that awesome fotage
This is pure drifting perfection!

Yokomo has always been the industry leader in RC Drift Cars, this just further cements that. Definitely picking one up!
That's debatable. Lol. They're in probably the top 3 but the top 3 is so close, it's almost based on personal opinion which one gets the 1, 2 and 3 spots.

The RD2.0 is definitely the best bang for your buck in the rwd RC drifting market, I have videos if you want to get into a better alignment.
This man knows his stuff 👍

Great video, nice drift car even with the gtr race body lol.
A bunch of us are coming out from the bay area/Sacramento on the 1st of June to check out the new drift track! Cannot wait to check the new building too
I just built one of these and its a lot of fun to drive. Just a note too, you can run a standard stick pack as the battery tray is adjustable.
How much are you into it for?
Beautiful ride❤
Nice. Car looks great.
That looks cool asf 😎 love the motul body 💯😎😎

Could you do a video on what you think is the #1 most fun rc car for bashing? Taking out specs and qualities, just the most fun to mess around with
That's subjective so it's impossible to answere. What one guy thinks is the number one rc for bashing, a hundred others would say he's wrong. I’d say any 1/8 or 1/5 monster truck
Maybe an xmaxx

Awesome Contant is this a local track somewhere in California? Is it open to the public?

is there a cheaper transmitter option that still has the ability to change the gyro?
That GTR body is freaking sweet
Great video, you said your Gyro was at 65% but what was your endpoint on channel 3?
Lookin lean buddy!
Where you buy your body kit brother ?
the front body mount is meant to move so it can match the contour of any body !!!!!!!!!!

Yours may have come set up correctly out of the box but this is a kit and that won't be the case for everyone else buying and actually building this.🤓
The RD2.0 is very likely to be our first kit...
Why do all the new drifters come with such big rear bias they feel weird i prefer a 50/50 weight distribution and front motor rear drive like the fxx
Rear bias is better for drifting
I like the idea of drift but it's kinda boring how slow they are, maybe they need a different tire compound or maybe go back to 4 wheel drive I dunno. Also bigger wider tracks maybe ?
Why cant my 500 dollar crawlers turn like that lol gezz
For the whole video background is in focus, and subject is not :)

I would much rather have a real touring car. Drifting becomes boring after racing.
