I love the pancake flip analogy! Haha. Great reaction to TOOL again! 46 and 2 refer to our chromosomal count and evolving from 44 and 2 to 46 and 2 as a higher level of conscious being. You like shadow work and Carl Jung was the inspiration behind these lyrics. You stepped into the TOOL rabbit hole and got bit by the snake!
Many have theorized that this album front to back is a journey of self-awareness and spiritual awakening. It's definitely in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. Enjoying watching you react!
Thank you for being a true “reactionist “ and not just an entertainer for the sake of $$. Stay true to the craft and I will keep watching you. If you haven’t reacted to “Right In Two” then I highly recommend it and it’s also a heavy thought provoking song.
Moisturized. Lol. I love the words you use to describe what you hear. Great reactions, buddy. Love to hear these songs for the first time again through your ears.
8:07 - I personally like that you pause, share with us your feelings and then go back to point out the parts that you really liked. Most of us may have heard these songs hundreds of times, but this is your first time listening to them and seeing how excited you are of them makes me feel so good! Thank you for your reactions! May you never change!
Exactly. It's like we get to see it, hear it, experience it vicariously all over again like it was new to us. We feed off his enthusiasm, remembering our excitement the first time we heard these songs (I loved his review of The Pot as well).
Oh, I agree with the recommendation of Push It. I will add to that recommendation, and say that you should find the video of the live reworked version of Push It. A very cool take on the original. Should listen to the original and then do a reaction for the live version, I’m sure it will be 🔥
It always makes me happy to see new Tool fans being born. Tool is special to me in ways that music usually isn't. I really like your take on them and how you look at music. There is a great rabbit hole listen to Push It from the AEnima album. Then listen to Pushit from the Salival set. It is the same song, but flipped and rediscovered. My first Tool concert was magic. Before the last song Maynard said, "I want you take all the feelings you have tonight - I want you to go home and create something positive" Just beautiful, man
The only thing better than listening to tool is seeing someone else discovering tool. The joy your reactions are giving me is awesome. Enjoy the journey
Just discovered your channel (because of Tool), but you have potential! Astute, smart observations as well as great physical / emotional reactions. Very cool. MORE TOOL!
Another fantastic reaction. This song always lulls me in with its mellow intro and then I end up being pummeled like a punching bag at the end. I'm always out of breath once the song is over. I f'n love it! Seeing this one live is amazing!
The best line is, "...like you set it on five like you making pancakes or something." That is by far the BEST line I've heard, out of 100 various TOOL reaction videos, describing the opening of this song. Perfect!!
This is one of my favourite tool songs. At any stage of my life, it has relevance. If I need to get my shit togeather, if I need a lift, if i need comfort....this track. Love it. Great reaction.
Great reaction!! Very genuine!! You should definitely do a reaction to Danny Carey of Tool playing their song "Pneuma" live. Maybe listen to the studio version first, but definitely need to give that live drum video a go as well.
As someone once said, "Tool are masters at creating tension then giving you an outlet to release it!". Music is art, there are many good artist, but there are few masters. Tool are masters of the art of music. Not many can do what they do. With that said, if you haven't seen the O'Keefe kids cover of this, you are really missing out. It's amazing.
Vocals are mixed low by design, and this occurs through their entire discography. You're commentary is so good. You actually give meaningfull thoughts rather than just, "i liked that." Keep it up bro.
Funny thing, when ever I am angry or sad I jump in the car and I blare songs like this and sing them as loud as I can. And I instantly feel better. That is the greatness of hard rock and metal music
Well when I was a teenager when this came out I never expected all these years later I would have somebody who just got introduced at all actually break it down to where I understand it not just jam to it lol that’s pretty cool! This is driving music and workout music! Tool is just different from everybody else. I would consider it industrial style music like NIN but they stand alone. Some of the drum work and guitar work reminds me of Pantera also. All three awesome bands obviously!
I truly love your enthusiasm about these songs. I get to live vicariously through your reactions. I've been listening and trying to dissect these songs for 30 years. 4 people in sync really creating perfection when we all know it doesn't exist. Thanks Mugs.
When you put your hands over your face towards the end, I had chills because I know that feeling. Hard to describe but it feels like when you are experiencing something so intense and epic, you have to shut down one of your senses for even a second because your brain is experiencing full audio intensity.
I don't know if saw the sign at the entrance of Tool rabbit hole, but it says, 'forget everything you thought you knew about music and please don't feed the rabbits.'
They mix their music so that all instruments are balanced. One being Maynard’s voice. They do a good job of sharing the spotlight with each other. Especially Adam Jones on guitar. You rarely hear a traditional guitar solo from him.. a rare band where the bass and drums are thus highlighted.
there is a lyric video to this song that breaks down the Yungian Shadow work and explains the meaning of 46 & 2. its very ynteresting and worth the watch
2nd reaction ive seen by him. He seems to truly enjoy Tool. Good reaction. Keep it up bro. There are so many, many songs to get to. You wont be disappointed.
You might be ready for Lost Keys + Rosetta Stoned. They need to be listened to back to back because they tell a story. It's some of Tool's most intense work and takes you on an incredibly visceral descent through the process of mental institutionalization. Danny has remarked that he considers it the most difficult drum work in their repertoire.
This is so enjoyable watching you hear this for the first time and sharing thoughts and feelings. I think it was 98’ when I first heard this song. Can’t remember what my thoughts were but I know I’ve heard it about a hundred times and seen Tool play it live a few times. It’s good everytime I listen to it.
Never seen a first time reactor to Tool absorbing their music like you do, my friend... This is way more than just going down the rabbit hole... Definitely new subscriber here! 👍
H ... Haunting and the build ups are incredible... would love to see your reaction... I can listen to that song everyday and never get tired of it... like most Tool songs
Love it! You're very knowledgeable...I never knew about the content after listening for decades until youtube told me about it. You know on first listen good damn job! Still lovin' the descriptive way you have!
This is my favorite TOOL song. I think it has something to do with the anticipation you talked about. I just can't wait for the next verse, the next moment. Great bass work, incredible drums, deep lyrics, and it just kicks ass.
When you get ready to take a turn, listen to Wings for Marie Pt 1 and then Pt 2. It was written about this mom, Judith Marie. I’d also tell you to next dive into A Perfect Circle after you’ve explored Tool for a while.
Since you are going down to TOOL rabbit hole you HAVE to check out Sober and also the Danny Carey drum cam version of Pneuma. Amazing band. Glad you have discovered them!!
Your absolute joy at 12:48 turning into an emotional experience at 13:06 is one of my all time favorite UA-cam moments. When you're ready for some even heavier emotions, research a bit about Wings for Marie parts 1 and 2 and give them a shot. Recommend doing them with lyrics. Welcome to Tool my friend.
The song is basically about introspection and growing one’s psyche into maturity and integrity. To become a whole being where the light and dark aspects of your personality are faced, accepted, and integrated. It is a painful process, as any exercise is. When one lifts weights, their muscles tear to grow back stronger. When one dissects and questions their beliefs, self story and ideologies, there is a period of discomfort as the ego resists all challengers. To learn one must first acknowledge their own ignorance.
tool changed my life during a very difficult time processing childhood trauma. Songs inspired me to look inside and start thinking about all my shadows from my past! Deep and excellent music and musicianship!
my man, as a fledgling just coming into the tool library of music i can only say that you have chosen wisely. Tool isnt just a band you listen to, they are a band you LISTEN to. it takes a few sittings to fully grasp the music, let alone the lyrical content. For example, what other bands would take psychology theories of the mid 1900s and write a banger like this one. Every song is a journey with highs and lows and i love to watch TOOL virgins react. Living "vicariously" through you...
New sub. I enjoy your reactions and going down this road. Tool, in my opinion, is its own genre. Nobody sounds like them. I recommend Pneuma, both the studio version where you can break down the lyrics, but the drum cam video of Danny Carey focuses solely on his skill on the drums. I wouldn’t say he makes it look easy, but it’s so easy for him. He’s a master at his craft. Good work, Mug.
Music is the conduit that can break through all other barriers, and connect us in a way that nothing else can. Your reaction to something I interpret and feel the same way about, is that connection my brother. ☮
Loved watching your open minded approach to listening to new music that may not be something you would normally listen to. The language of music is universal!
46 and 2 is a reference to the chromosomes in a human being. We all have 46 chromosomes, with some exceptions like downs syndrome, etc. So 46 and 2 is the addition of 2 more chromosomes to become greater/more enlightened than the regular human
I love the appreciation for the phenomenal talent and production intelligence combination that we hear with tool! You should check out the first two tracks on 10,000 days album… Vicarious and Jambi… the way they transition into each other is pretty great! Also go see the band live if you get a chance… best show I’ve ever been to.. bucket list material
Loved this song within the first few seconds of listening to it all those many years ago. Little did I realize that it would take on an entirely new meaning (for me) later on in my adult life during my struggles with substance abuse. Still gives me goosebumps while listening to it, cranked in my headphones, reflecting on the darkness I left behind.
Take all the time you need...stop as many times as you want. ToolArmy will watch an hour long reaction to one song. And we will love it.
Amen 🙌
Yes!
Can confirm.
👀
I been listening to this since the day it dropped & have never gotten sick of it
I'm so happy watching you go down the Tool rabbit hole! It's always amazing seeing people discover and appreciate their music.
It’s weird the enjoyment i get out of seeing someone I’ve never met listen to a song I’ve heard a thousand times.
Glad you enjoyed it
I got this album as a teenager when it came out… still smashing it like I did the day it launched. Tool forever!
It’s so much fun to watch someone discover and enjoy music! Good energy, good reaction. If you love music, you’ll love Tool.
Thank you for commenting! This motivates me further
Many have theorized that this album front to back is a journey of self-awareness and spiritual awakening. It's definitely in my top 5 favorite albums of all time. Enjoying watching you react!
Great reaction! You get the genius of Tool.
Thank you for being a true “reactionist “ and not just an entertainer for the sake of $$. Stay true to the craft and I will keep watching you. If you haven’t reacted to “Right In Two” then I highly recommend it and it’s also a heavy thought provoking song.
Love that one!!
Yes Right in Two!! LOVE THAT TRACK!
Moisturized. Lol. I love the words you use to describe what you hear. Great reactions, buddy. Love to hear these songs for the first time again through your ears.

I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction! Such an amazing song! My license plate used to be 46NTOOL 😂
To me..... to put it simply, this song is about evolving..
Great to see the reactions!! I'd recommend you taking a look at Vicarious, Right In Two and Pushit - some of my fave TOOL songs.
I'll check it out!
Oh, I agree with the recommendation of Push It. I will add to that recommendation, and say that you should find the video of the live reworked version of Push It. A very cool take on the original. Should listen to the original and then do a reaction for the live version, I’m sure it will be 🔥
Your headphones are just fine. The vocals are indeed mixed in lower than you are probably used to.

Just beautiful, man
"It's like you got 4 masters, who decided to put their egos aside, and make some great music" - perfect description of TOOL. Well done.
You have such great insight and interpretations, thank you for reacting to Tool. I'd recommend Vicarious and Pneuma as great next songs to listen to
The only thing better than listening to tool is seeing someone else discovering tool. The joy your reactions are giving me is awesome. Enjoy the journey
Just discovered your channel (because of Tool), but you have potential! Astute, smart observations as well as great physical / emotional reactions. Very cool. MORE TOOL!
I find it deeply enjoyable watching your journey of exploration. Thanks for inviting us along!
Another fantastic reaction. This song always lulls me in with its mellow intro and then I end up being pummeled like a punching bag at the end. I'm always out of breath once the song is over. I f'n love it! Seeing this one live is amazing!
Absolutely! The projections for this one put me straight into a trance.
It warms my heart when the younger generation discovers Tool. The best band to ever walk this earth.
Sir, you may run it back as much as you desire. It’s so enjoyable to see someone experiencing Tool lyrically and musically. Please continue.
The best line is, "...like you set it on five like you making pancakes or something." That is by far the BEST line I've heard, out of 100 various TOOL reaction videos, describing the opening of this song. Perfect!!
Goosebumps!!!! More Tool please. Do The Grudge or Descending next.
This is one of my favourite tool songs. At any stage of my life, it has relevance. If I need to get my shit togeather, if I need a lift, if i need comfort....this track. Love it. Great reaction.
I love this song. Ty for reacting. I’m going for a binge watch your Tool reactions. Lovely
Great reaction!! Very genuine!! You should definitely do a reaction to Danny Carey of Tool playing their song "Pneuma" live. Maybe listen to the studio version first, but definitely need to give that live drum video a go as well.

Appreciate that
Funny thing, when ever I am angry or sad I jump in the car and I blare songs like this and sing them as loud as I can. And I instantly feel better. That is the greatness of hard rock and metal music
Everything TOOL does is by design, and has a reason behind it! Love that you're loving it, brother. Keep going! Spiral out!
It’s such a joy to watch your reactions to the music we love so much. Sharing their genius with someone who appreciates it is amazing.
The lyrics man...the lyrics...its about evolving into a higher being.... becoming more than..... really deep.
Well when I was a teenager when this came out I never expected all these years later I would have somebody who just got introduced at all actually break it down to where I understand it not just jam to it lol that’s pretty cool! Music like this doesn't need a category, it's unique!
You have to listen to their song The Grudge. Intense drumming, intense scream..GENIUS! Let go of grudges..they will destroy you!
I truly love your enthusiasm about these songs. I get to live vicariously through your reactions. I've been listening and trying to dissect these songs for 30 years. 4 people in sync really creating perfection when we all know it doesn't exist. Thanks Mugs.
One of my favorite things is watching people react to tool and you are by far my favorite.

Your reactions are fantastic. Showing joy and disbelief in equal measure. Wonderful
I've watched a lot of UA-camrs get sucked into a Tool hole, but this might be my favorite one so far!
Spiral Out! Keep Going!
there is a lyric video to this song that breaks down the Yungian Shadow work and explains the meaning of 46 & 2. its very ynteresting and worth the watch
2nd reaction ive seen by him. He seems to truly enjoy Tool. Good reaction. Keep it up bro. There are so many, many songs to get to. You wont be disappointed.
Really insightful analysis of the lyrics! Living vicariously through you getting to hear these songs for the first time is fun
Thoroughly enjoyed your analysis and appreciation of this track. Going to more TOOL from you! ❤ from MN.

Loving watching you discover TOOL my personal favs are "eulogy" and "right in two"
H ... Haunting and the build ups are incredible... would love to see your reaction... I can listen to that song everyday and never get tired of it... like most Tool songs
Run it back as much as you want! I listen to this song on repeat all the time haha.
digging through the old wounds is hectic , just like this song!!!!
My favorite songs off each album.
Jerk-Off
Intolerance
Pushit
The Grudge (my favorite of all time)
Vicarious
Pneuma
These are must reactions.
Love the way you interpret the lyrics and synthesise it with your feelings and emotions. Spot on man! Really enjoyable to watch
Love it! You're very knowledgeable...I never knew about the content after listening for decades until youtube told me about it. You know on first listen good damn job! Still lovin' the descriptive way you have!

"46 & 2" is referencing the (theoretical) next phase of the human genome.
Youre definitely understanding the language that youre viewers understand. All of us, right there with you. And we love to see you discover it.
Love that you analyse the lyrics as well. Also again your reaction gave me goosebumps :D neat!
Since you are going down to TOOL rabbit hole you HAVE to check out Sober and also the Danny Carey drum cam version of Pneuma. Amazing band. Glad you have discovered them!!
Especially the Sober LIVE from Reading '93! (Tool - Sober Live (Pro Shot) Remastered)
Subbed because I love Tool and you are doing such an amazing job on a breakdown...xxx
Oh heck yes!! I don't listen to either of those often because I get all teary eyed!
The song is basically about introspection and growing one’s psyche into maturity and integrity. To become a whole being where the light and dark aspects of your personality are faced, accepted, and integrated. It is a painful process, as any exercise is. My favorite reaction of yours ive seen! You can tell it just hit different. The way maynard does.
I love it man! I get goosebumps when i listen and see someone getting into this. Feeling it!!
tool changed my life during a very difficult time processing childhood trauma. Songs inspired me to look inside and start thinking about all my shadows from my past! Deep and excellent music and musicianship!
Eulogy. Fantastic song!! It’s my favorite!
Such a gooood reaction! I love how i see your thoughts move through your face! To me Tools outro's are like exclamation marks.
46 & 2... Next evolutionary step for the Human species!

Man, your TOOL reactions are solid!! Can't wait for you to get to "Lateralus" and "the Grudge"!
I just love your discovery! It’s almost like revisiting my own experience again.😊
New sub. I enjoy your reactions and going down this road. Tool, in my opinion, is its own genre. Nobody sounds like them. Tool is one of my favorite bands. Since the first time I heard them. So cool to watch people discover how amazing they are.
You got the nail on the head with every song. Well done sir. Keep ‘em coming..
I love good outros too. This song happens to have one the best intros ever, one of the best middles ever, and probably the best outro ever. ✌️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Vicarious, The Grudge and Lateralus would be good options for future reactions. Another great reaction ;)
Tool is my favorite band of all time, and my favorite song combo is Lost keys/Rosetta Stoned, it is fantastic, and I hope you check it out.
So glad you came up on my feed. Loving these reviews. Appreciate ya. 🍻
The “moisturized” sound is a Chorus effect on the bass.
46 and 2 is a reference to the chromosomes in a human being. We all have 46 chromosomes, with some exceptions like downs syndrome, etc. So 46 and 2 is the addition of 2 more chromosomes to become greater/more enlightened than the regular human
Excellent reaction! One of the best I've seen and seen ALOT.
I still have the original CD I bought the day this came out. Watching this is just awesome :)
You gotta see the live version of Tool Pneuma with the camera on the drummer. The guy is a 4 armed drum devil
Yes, but please do the studio version first. It's absolute perfection!
Absolutely do the studio version before the live one.
I so enjoy watching your genuine physical and emotional reactions to TOOL! Right in Two or The Grudge next!!
You're a smart man. Most people don't get it as fast as you. I loved this reaction video.
Tool is more of an experience than a band. Continue down the rabbit hole and Spiral Out...
My roommate and I got this, at the local record store, the day it came out... We're old; we were in college in 1996...
"Digging through the old wounds." Well said.
Loved this song within the first few seconds of listening to it all those many years ago. Little did I realize that it would take on an entirely new meaning (for me) later on in my adult life during my struggles with substance abuse. Still gives me goosebumps while listening to it, cranked in my headphones, reflecting on the darkness I left behind.
i really liked your reaction bro.. please continue your TOOL journey, i'm sure you won't regret..
spiral out !! keep goin !!
His new favorite band!!
As great as this older stuff is, their newest album is pure genius. Looking forward to your reactions.
