I agree with some of the comments on here. I’m originally from Louisiana, got family down there and had quite a few gumbos to know what gumbo is. This looks more “gumbo-inspired” than actual gumbo. Cut the tomatoes down, gotta be thinner, a darker color is preferred, needs to simmer way longer than 30 minutes, and can’t go wrong with adding a few dashes of hot sauce. Pretty sure any New Orleans chef will say the same thing, depending on whether you go Cajun or Creole. Normally, I don’t complain about food, but Louisiana cuisine does hit home for me so I gotta throw in my two cents. I’ll give Tasty credit on trying to make a vegetarian version though..

The petty Louisiana citizen in me objects to this being gumbo. This is a seemingly lose knock off Étouffée or our version of stewed okra. We just call it okra and rice. Those two have a more tomato based gravy. A real roux is brown due to the use of filet. Unless I skipped I saw no filet. Excellent try.

by definition this is gumbo... a spicy seafood or chicken soup thickened typically will okra or rice. it’s literally on google but it’s just not what most people are use to seeing
I think Pampa Worcestershire sauce is accidentally vegan. I picked it up in the value section of my local grocery store for $1 and found that there were no anchovies in the ingredients list
Hey! I have a rather odd diet. I cannot eat red meats or red sauces. Unfortunately most of your recipes that sound interesting or look good to me have either one of those two in it! Can you make a playlist/make more recipes that don't involve either of those things? Stuff that someone like me can eat without repercussions. Pasta gets old very quickly and I'm not very good at cooking on my own
