I think eckhart is overestimating the capabilities of the delta 7. Sure it's very tough but obi wan struggled to outrun and evade the slave one which despite being relatively fast, is more of an attack/patrol craft than any kind of dogfighter. Going by the legends database that would put its performance around that of a y-wing.
The jedi pilot biases the expected result. Though it has to be said that you would generally assume almost every Delta-7 has a jedi as a pilot, since it was special-order design specifically for the jedi... While it's not fully guaranteed to be a jedi flying it, the nature of why the ship was built and who owns most of them guarantees there is a very high probability that the pilot will be a jedi... As for their intended roles, the Naboo Starfighter was actually more suited to the reconnaissance role than the Delta-7, since it didn't have the whole Hyperspace ring issue. It could drop into a system without having to leave it's hyperdrive parked in orbit, and could make a emergency jump out at any time. Destroy a unattended ring and the Jedi is trapped, just find a unattended ring and the enemy is alerted, plant a bomb on the ring and then leave it and the Jedi is… The Naboo Starfighter is just more versatile, it's basically got the same capabilities as a X-Wing, just not at the performance level (it's several generations earlier). Perhaps it could be upgraded with extra weapons (ion cannons linked to the Lasercannons in the nose would be very useful, especially to capture targets for investigating) and the unguided torpedoes could be swapped out for guided ones (or guided ion torpedoes - but with Jedi targeting abilities a unguided torpedo could still be _very_ deadly). If I was a pre Clone Wars Jedi I would seriously consider it over the Delta-7 for going on missions. [Actually I would take a heavily modified version of a common light freighter/shuttle (a possible bounty hunter ship) so I wouldn't stand out and have a change of clothes from the robes]. I could _take a full astromech (very useful)_ and not have to worry about a unattended hyperdrive, I could disable fleeing ships with ion torpedoes, and I could come and go as I please. I'd just get a less garish paint job. And the environmental impact of the ship would be a bonus for a Jedi when back at the Temple and trying to _out enlighten my fellows._
This is the only time I feel like I have to step in like this. During that Jango vs Kenobi dogfight. Kenobi definitely had plot armor at that point. And it was just to make it look cool. If Delta really did have this shielding, then why did Arc destroy it in about two volleys or so when Palpatine executed order 66?
And logistically. Delta 7, being built for reconnaisance. Has the biggest power draw from engines. So that leaves really small room for shields. Whilst the N1 seems a tiny bit bigger, hence why it also carries a full astromech. So N1 has more space for, well everything. It's nothing close to a full on military fighter. It's, as mentioned more like an escort. But with an equally skilled pilots. I'd say the N1 would win.
When Plo koons delta 7 was shot down he either had all or most of its power diverted to the shields in the front of the ship. That or the delta 7 didn’t have shields at all
Slave 1 has relatively weak laser cannons. It was originally designed as a prison transport, not a military fighter/bomber like the Ark 170. You'll note that the lasers on the Slave 1 gimbal quite a bit, whereas we don't see this on military fighter craft. We can assume this is because the laser cannons used by military fighters are far too large and high-powered to gimbal to that extent.
GR0UNDC0MMAND3R _ The thing is, the Invisible Hand has been in that battle for hours, taking on many Venators, and obviously took many beatings from them, but came out on top. By the time the _Guarlara_ (Venator that defeated the Hand) came, the _Invisible Hand_ was a dead man's ship. The fact that it spent hours fighting off many Venators, it has a real shot at taking on a Star Destroyer. And if it's not the ships that do it, the Droid Tri-Fighters would make short work of the TIE Fighters, and with no point-defense cannons on the Star Destroyer, the Droid Bombers would bomb it with no resistance.
However, they weren't necessarily trying to destroy it, since basically the entire galaxy knew Palpatine was on board, after Grievous threatened to literally tear him apart if they didn't let them go
You're forgetting to factor in the fact that the Delta 7 was meant for Jedi. This means it lacked certain aspects of a regular starfighter, as the manufacturers built it so the Force would enhance the capabilities of the ship. Since the N-1 and the Delta 7 are being piloted by regular pilots, they wouldn't be able to use the Force to "augment" the Delta. I think the N-1 would win because it is steered towards non-Jedi pilots. Plus the N-1 is my favorite starfighter :)
Anakin's custom Azure Angel did actually have provisions for regular pilots but thats legends. Other than that yeah most Delta 7's had very low shields and only the light laser cannons.
I agree with the outcome. the N1 was not a "hippy ship" as you call it, even if it was designed to be environmentally friendly, but it was designed for a very different role to the delta 7. the N1 was a patrol craft designed to fight pirates and such, while the delta 7 was meant for scouting in a hostile battlespace. one was designed by a single planet to look after minor threats in its immediate system while the other was meant as a military craft designed by a galactic government with a galaxy worth of resources, technology and skills at their disposal
The Jedi starfighter had controls so sensitive that only a Jedi could pilot it as it would go out of control for anyone else. These sensitive controls aided in manoeuvrability
The N1 was always my favorite ever since I played star wars Starfighter I also like it's Royal design, it's speed and the cockpit view. the weaponary is pretty good especially those proton torpedos which can be very useful for mid/far range targets and it used green lasers which could take out a ship in a couple of hits since they were the most expensive kind laser bolts and the shields were pretty good But I think it depends on the pilot and his/her skill when it comes to the N1 vs the Delta 7 in a dogfight.
Both the CR90 and the Hammerhead Corvette were shown being absolutely decimated by TIE Fighters in the Battle of Atollon in Star Wars: Rebels. They both would just get a couple of shots on eachother and decimate themselves. Or the hammerhead would just ram it.
yeah rebels is all over the place maybe even more so than the average plot armour of the enterprise D with how durable ships are the CR90 in a new hope which i cant imagine is any better than the ones the rebels are using in ...well rebels... is taking multiple shots from an ISD2 , no issues till its shields fail and it takes a crippling hit. in rebels 2 tie interceptors tear one apart... with 1 pass. they did what was needed at the time for spectacle but didn't have ANY level of consistancy.
N1 kinda strikes me as jack of all trades type, its a fighter/bomber, probably quite effective in large numbers, to hold its own in fighter attacks, an large enough swarm could be threatning towards a capital ship
I'd say the N-1 is the better general purpose ship. The Delta-7 was designed with a Jedi pilot in mind, and is meant to enhance their natural abilities. That means it's not ideal for a non-force user pilot. It's very fast and maneuverable, but very lightly shielded and armored, the Jedi inside is the primary defense system. So, I think if you have Jedi in both the Delta 7 comes out on too, if you have regular pilot, the N-1 wins.
Ah I just love the visual design of the N1. Would love to see one that keeps the visual but is refitted with combat as its main priority (better shields weapons and so on)
I love the look of both of these ships but I have to give the edge to the N1 for such a unique design. I have a model of the N1 made in metal and I love it
I have always loved the N1 so much and I feel like the N1 will only be beat if it cant keep the delta 7 in front where it can get some torpedo shots off. But I was gonna say N1 wins 6 out of 10 times which is actually not that far off your count. the Delta 7 is tiny so faster but smaller means less damage and less hull damage it can take before a critical failure. I think the N1 can take a wee bit more of a beating based on hull alone
I dropped the playback speed down to .25 to see the shield shimmering and I just left it down there for the rest of the video and boy... I was not disappointed. Laughed my ass off
I love both fighters, but I prefer the Delta-7. I think it would've been awesome if the Empire used a variant of them because of their speed/maneuverability and their blade like wedge shape. Imagine wedge shaped star destroyers deploying wedge shaped star fighters.
i wish these was a museum with life sised star wars starfighters, cruisers, speeders ect that would be awsome because i love aircraft/tank museums i also love the N1 starfighter
neither ship really have a main force fighter role, the n1 serves well as a system patrol and escort craft and could probably handle vultures or ties any day in a squadron on squadron fight. but the delta 7 was designed for the jedi to get into their areas and had to be able to survive long enough in a fight to get the jedi where they needed to go.
I wish you would look at intended use for the ship, too. For example, the LAAT/i didn't have a hyperdrive and needed support vessels to launch from and for long range transportation, while the U-Wing was fully hyperdrive capable and could also blend into civilian traffic in space- It wasn't intended as a straight gunship.
A Yuuzhan Vong ship VS a Wraith Hive (SG: Atlantis) We all know who would win, but would like to see the comparisons between the two, somewhat similar 'organic' tech ships.
I think given some upgrades. The N-1 could be a formidable oppent. Everything about it screams air/space superiority fighter. Bubble cockpit allowing pilot great area of view. High rate of fire despite only 2 guns. Large thrusters for great speed. Maybe give it a third engine in the back. To increase speed & ability. Give it pilons on the underside or internal bay to mount advanced missles & bombs for multirole missions. The N-1 would be a force to reckon with then.
The N1 was built around planetary defence so having many ships support it while the delta 7 was built for recon missions, basically the N1 has lower shields but more weapons the delta 7 has higher shields but lowered weapons/choices due to weight, the delta 7 switched out weaponry for speed basically.
The main problem with this match up is the lack of good examples. Obi-wan's ship was able to take a ridiculous amount of fire from the Slave 1, and Anakin was protected by plot armor. I do agree though that the Delta 7, even in the hands of a clone pilot, was superior due to its manufacturing for combat, instead of just being there for ceremony.
Ok, the Delta-7 lacked a lot of sensors and targeting information, instead depending on the force user pilot. SO... in the hands of equal force users the delta-7 In the hands of equal clone however, its likely going to be the N1.
You can't forget all of the Jedi star fighters had most of their internal hud equipment removed on account that they're supposed to have a Jedi piloting them, that gives whoever is flying it less input to work with in the dogfight
Hey EL, long time watcher but this is my first time responding. I have a few disagreements I just wanted to share with ya. First, in the category of defense you praise the Delta 7 on it's maneuverability and speed. I agree in that it's a fine interceptor, but did it cross your mind at any time that the Delta, while piloted by a Jedi, was ineffectual while trying to shake a modified Firespray-31? The Slave-1 has a speed rating equivalent to that of a Y-Wing(an improvement over the base design,) so I believe that should be kept in mind. Second, in the category of weaponry you say the N-1's torpedoes are "probably unguided," though we see that in Battlefront 1(a canonized game) that the N-1's proton torpedoes can indeed track fighters and bombers. While it is true that we don't see that ability in the movies, there's also nothing that leads us to believe it CAN'T lock on, either. I feel that this too should be kept in mind. Thanks for the videos, I'm a big fan of your work and hope you keep it up, you make my nights at work pass by much smoother.
@@jedigrandmaster6471 the TIE Bomber has a pair of blaster cannons. Established since the original TIE Figher game. In fact, one of the missions makes you use one as an emergency fighter
Well technically the OT version had 4 variants; one which was piloted by 1 pilot and 1 astromech which had ion cannons locked in the forward position, a version with 1 pilot, 1 astromech and laser cannons instead of ion cannons though still had them locked in the forwards position, one with 1 pilot, 1 gunner and an astromech which had ion cannons that could be moved 360 due to it having a gunner and another one with 1 pilot, 1 gunner, 1 astromech and laser cannons which could rotate 360 due to it having a gunner.
The delta 7 from what I know had less of an interface (or something idk) because it was made for Jedi pilots who had a better sense around them (less crap to weigh the ship down) a normal non Jedi could probably fly it but would be hindered by the fact that they wouldn’t know their surroundings as much compared to the n1. On the other hand if u put pilot’s that are Jedi the n1 would probably loose because of the extra stuff slowing it down
I know this is semantics; and in addition the information comes from a video game: but in Star Wars Starfighter (a episode 1 game) the game, the N-1 Starfighter could lock its proton Torpedo's onto an enemy ship. The lock took around three to five seconds to allow the torpedo to effectively track the enemy craft, and the torpedo was fairly slow by comparison of other secondary attacks in the game, but had the power to take out a Morningstar-B in a single shot (That being probably the most heavily shielded and armoured fighter craft in the game: barring the end game boss). Still the program for the lock on reset after each lock, meaning you can only fire one torpedo before the computer has to relock onto the enemy. The more you know
1:49 "Both starfighters are set up to be space superiority fighters" 2:00 "The delta 7 was meant more for reconnaissance missions" 2:17 "The N1 starfighter seems more suited for ceremonial duties" So are they dogfighters or not? You have maintained that they are and aren't at the same time. If you write scripts take care to not contradict yourself
They're dogfighters, but they're designed with certain leanings. He didn't really contradict himself. Delta 7 is a reconnaissance space superiority fighter, because if it was for pure recon only, it wouldn't also have a load-out that suits a dogfight. N1 more suited for ceremonial duties, like a military jet in an airshow... doesn't make it not intended for dogfights, but maybe it's out-dated or otherwise under-par, but still looks propaganda-pretty.
That's like calling the F-35 a dogfighter even though it isn't. Your explanation is akin to equipping an F-15 for reconnaissance, which irl would be dumb, but star wars is fantasy. He should have called them multi role fighters instead of contradicting himself by saying they were more for things that weren't dogfights after stating they were dogfighters
That's more of a semantics things. Their specific design role is less than clear, so he's just guessing, but the knowledge we have stronger ideas upon is how they dogfight. They're placed into the dogfighter role in the movies, and for the video, regardless of what they might have actually been for.
I'd be ok with that if he only cited movies as references, but he doesn't. He dips into "expanded universe" which is really just anyone making up whatever they want. I think they are both dogfighters as that's what both craft do in the movies, and if we go by the movies the jedi starfighter wins because jedi pilot it. I don't really like his "analyses" so much because it's too damn subjective, and the subject material isn't helping. Regardless, it's sloppy writing to say some things are thing A and then immediately say they are more set up for things B and C, respectively
I've always thought of the Naboo fighter as like a space P-26 Peashooter, a colorful pre-war design that was pretty but woefully underpowered and underarmed relative to wartime fighter plane designs
Since I ended up making an absolutely absurd wall of text here... I wanted to take a quick moment to preface all this. Ultimately I think you did an excellent review here, and I agree with your scoring. Especially how you emphasizes the impact a jedi pilot would likely have. If anything, I would be want to believe that the N1 might outmatch the Delta 7 on speed and/or manueverability with equal pilots, plus, if you take my interpretation of the Slave One's weapon into account, it paints the Delta 7 as even more of beast in-terms of shielding. I think this even makes sense from a sort of technical design perspective, any ship designed for Jedi could likely be designed a bit like you might design an armored car for a high-ranking military operative. I'm going to stop myself here though as this 'preface' is quickly turning into a tangent of it's own... :S Ehh... I'll take another look/finish watching the rest of your video, but when you mention 'little orange explosions shimmering off of Obi-wan's ship.' the Slave One's shots don't burst orange because they've hit something, I feel that they were designed to be clearly imitating the functionality of air-burst flak cannon rounds. Ie. the shots are made to 'detonate' at the point where they would hit the target, or pass by it, so as to simply burst on the surface of the craft, creating more disruptive damage, or to at least deal proximity damage even if the shot is a near miss. I understand this might not make any sense for a beam/energy weapon... but hey, suspension of disbelief + The Rule of Cool xD This dogfight/chase has to be one of my favorite visual/audio experiences from the new Star Wars trilogy :D This concept looks/sounds/feels absolutely f'king amazing, a not for a moment did I stop to question the practicality. The idea of these air-burst laser flak rounds, however scientifically absurd, was just such an amazing expression of the sort of unconventional 'no-messing around' brute force methods I could imagine an infamous bounty-hunter would use. Even if he's one of the best shots out there, he still opts for a sawed-off shotgun style weapon for the highest odds of making the kill. No matter how wily the opponent, it's going to be nearly impossible to avoid being damaged, even if they are evasive enough to avoid most direct hits! Also... THOSE SONIC MINES!!! To go to even greater nerdy depths supporting my impressions of this scene, another reason this is likely an homage to air-burst style flak cannon weaponry is the original inspiration for much of the dogfighter style space combat seen throughout the Star Wars series. The flight movement, maneuvers, weaponry, tactics, organization was all styled off of WWI and WWII era dogfighter concepts. There is a reason X-Wings and Tie Fighters fly through space like conventional atmosphere fighter aircraft, and it doesn't make any sense for any sort of scientifically accurate space-flight/combat. Ultimately it is this design decision and ongoing theme throughout the Star Wars series that leads me to believe that the visual phenomena presented by the cannons of the Slave One are to be fairly directly interpreted as an analog for flak-cannons. Beyond the fairly common knowledge that the Star Wars design team openly modelled their starfighter craft and combat off of WWI/WWII fighter combat, I have no official sources backing up these claims xP It's possssible that I may have a liiiiitttle too much nerdy enthusiasm backing up my belief in this idea.... xPP Despite how absurd and overbearing this wall of text must appear... I would totally be up for more measured/civilized discussion on the topic if anyone has additional points/counterpoints... xD
Simply getting behind another ship, won't be the end of the battle. In actual dogfights pilots would try to shake the enemy, off their tail and would often end up with which ship/plane was more manueverble.
proton torpedos have built in guidance systems that allow them to lock on and be used as antistarfighter weapons. the old rogue squadron books went into detail about them. also obi wans fighter took a beat much higher then normal mainly because of plot armor.
Obi Wan's Delta 7 takes docens of hits. Plo Koon's takes around 5 to 10 to burst into flames. If you are not important to the cannon, your ship is shit or not OP.
Always loved the N1 Starfighter. It has an elegant design (as with most Naboo ships) and also surprisingly useful in small-scale skirmishes or dogfights . It's fast, agile, and have both laser cannons and decent proton torpedoes that can make them pull a multirole as a fighter/bomber. Would love to see it come back one day. :)
I think it is the best designed starfighter in star wars and I am not even talking about the way it looks. The pilot has a fantastic view. It is aerodynamic. The guns are close together so you will always land both shots and the two thrusters are on the side of the ship so that it cant turn quickly. It also is a small target.
If I recall correctly did the Delta 7 has a lack of Scanning systems because there were mend for Jedi that could use the Force for this kind of stuff so would a non force user Pilot be at a big disadvantage because there had a harder time to keep track of the other.
The one thing I can say about the Delta is from what I read in the books it’s avionics are pretty much nonexistent this is because the Jedi flyby cents you have asked for Mac but the Astro Mech only does jump coordinates the Nubian in one or the other hand chromium to help armor is it has really healthy shields the lasers are actually countersunk into the ships so they’re not easy to strike and it’s really fast faster than the next week as fast as probably A Wing
You are fairly right about the hippie nature of the N1 The legends exclamation for its design was it was an anti-piracy vessel at most more of a police function then an actual heavy Star fighter function it's also important to remember that even though Obi-Wan is a Jedi he not a Jedi Ace his force talents are not the sharpest in that area so he's closer to a normal ace pilot than say Luke or Anakin
@@joelbibeault1169 according to True Star Wars Lore that Disney has copied over Obi-Wan Kenobi is a rather decent pilot probably quite good by the standards of the order as a whole but he is not a member of the “Jedi Aces,” A subset of the Jedi guardian’s that in addition to all the standard guardian Talents specialize in aerospace fighter combat,These Jedi have trained specifically to use their force powers in piloting to the maximum ability that they were capable of, making them quite clearly the most dangerous starfighter pilots in the galaxy.
uh.....I wouldn't be so sure about no warheads. In Rebel Strike Rouge Squad 3 it does got on wicked power warhead called Sonic Silencer Mines. it is one badass Seismic Charge. Really nails anything in the blast radius.
I don't know that I would classify the N-1 as a "hippy ship" though I do see why you would use that designation for it. It's purpose isn't to engage in one on one dogfights, it's for a casual police role and always found in groups of at least 2 or more. I would say, to use more Earth terms, that the N-1 is more of a Patrol Motor Boat used by the US Coast Guard while the D-7 is more of an actual Navy Cutter Boat.
just one thing... you forgot to mention the stealth capabilities oft the N-1 by its colouring in its front... the chrome would probably disturb the targeting system of the Delta 7. but like already said, just if they move in opposing directions.
I really hate how inconsistent shields are in Star Wars. The X-Wing has shields, unlike the TIE Fighter, and yet on screen both usually go down with just one hit. Kinda surprised they showed Shields on the Delta 7 actually.
Do you ever consider video game representations when making videos? If you play games like Rogue Squadron and SW battlefront you'll see there are a lot of consistencies regarding the power, speed, and performance of vehicles. Just curious if that ever comes into play when making vids?

I feel like you overestimate Jango's autoblasters and I think some of those flares were his bolts striking smaller asteroids and asteroid dust.
Design wise the N-1 is probably one of the nicest ships in sci-fi let alone star wars. It's so clean and elegant.
Millennium Falcon VS Ebon Hawk ( Revan's Ship)
the edon hawk would sadly be too old to fight the falcon
The ebon hawk would win becouse same armor and but better weapons
doid tri-fighter vs the tie interceptor. like 10th try now
this is cool. I think the Tri fighter would have a slight advantage. Eck loves his fast ships and I know he is a big fan of the Tri fighter also
TIE interceptor, the TIE interceptor's superior ECM suite would be the deciding factor
James Ricker the Interceptor has got to be easier to hit I figure.
Im a more recent subs, this is the first time i see this series by eck. Awesome to see your posts under literally every single video!
Hammerhead Corvette vs CR90
yeah boi
AdmiralSupreme unless the hammerhead hits the cr90 Corvette the cr90 wins
Both the CR90 and the Hammerhead Corvette were shown being absolutely decimated by TIE Fighters in the Battle of Atollon in Star Wars: Rebels. They both would just get a couple of shots on eachother and decimate themselves. Or the hammerhead would just ram it.
yeah rebels is all over the place maybe even more so than the average plot armour of the enterprise D with how durable ships are
the CR90 in a new hope which i cant imagine is any better than the ones the rebels are using in ...well rebels... is taking multiple shots from an ISD2 , no issues till its shields fail and it takes a crippling hit. in rebels 2 tie interceptors tear one apart... with 1 pass. they did what was needed at the time for spectacle but didn't have ANY level of consistancy.
"Only" 10 proton torpedoes - that's basically 10 guaranteed kills
Would love to see one that keeps the visual but is refitted with combat as its main priority (better shields weapons and so on)
You just got your wish sir.
Wish granted
rematch between Anakins modified Delta 7 and Dins modified N1
I love the look of both of these ships but I have to give the edge to the N1 for such a unique design. I have a model of the N1 made in metal and I love it
Immobilizer 418 Cruiser vs Interdictor class Cruiser
Yes! Strength in numbers!
They are one and the same?
This is basically a battle between my favourite Star fighters.
Depends which one can spin faster.
I think it’s interesting the lasers in Star Wars require a lock on. Yet the torpedoes don’t. Especially in the x-wing

The Twilight vs. Slave 1
naga sadows meditation chamberwith him in it near a sun vs the death star could be a very interesting fight
Very valid conclusions. If I had to jump in one while a bad guy jumped in the other, I would definitely make a break for the Delta.
I love both fighters, but I prefer the Delta-7. I think it would've been awesome if the Empire used a variant of them because of their speed/maneuverability and their blade like wedge shape. Imagine wedge shaped star destroyers deploying wedge shaped star fighters.
i wish these was a museum with life sised star wars starfighters, cruisers, speeders ect that would be awsome because i love aircraft/tank museums
i also love the N1 starfighter
I think you should revisit this with the Mandalorians heavily-modified N1 with the most modified Delta.
neither ship really have a main force fighter role, the n1 serves well as a system patrol and escort craft and could probably handle vultures or ties any day in a squadron on squadron fight. but the delta 7 was designed for the jedi to get into their areas and had to be able to survive long enough in a fight to get the jedi where they needed to go.
I think the torps used by N-1s are Energy torpedoes: energy-based, non-homing, maybe more destructive; while Proton torpedoes are homing projectiles.
Someone might have already mentioned this, but if you didn't know already, the Delta-7 is featured heavily in the Star Wars the Clone Wars tv show
Y'all might wanna come back to this now and do a touch of re-evaluation as regards speed.
(Book of Boba Ep 5)
A Yuuzhan Vong ship VS a Wraith Hive (SG: Atlantis)
We all know who would win, but would like to see the comparisons between the two, somewhat similar 'organic' tech ships.
Hey @eckhartLadder! I think an update for this is up for grabs! Book of boba fett episode 5 really gave some insight on the N1 ship :D
Z-95 (as it was during the clone wars) vs the x-wing
Mic Clank X-wing
I would vote that the X wing would win because the Z-95 though a good ship has half the firepower, less speed, and less defense.
The Z 95 is much more manouvrable so it wins here
@@numbnutslikefoodandalsobac6234 lmaoo a a6m zero didnt win against hellcats or corsairs
Greetings from the future who else watching this after ch5 of book of boba fet
Ok, the Delta-7 lacked a lot of sensors and targeting information, instead depending on the force user pilot.
SO... in the hands of equal force users the delta-7
In the hands of equal clone however, its likely going to be the N1.
You can't forget all of the Jedi star fighters had most of their internal hud equipment removed on account that they're supposed to have a Jedi piloting them, that gives whoever is flying it less input to work with in the dogfight

imperial raider class Corvette vs cr-90 Corvette
Thanks for the videos, I'm a big fan of your work and hope you keep it up, you make my nights at work pass by much smoother.
well, the thing about battlefront 2 is not valid because they are guided just to make a more balanced game, the tie bomber doesnt have laser cannons
@@jedigrandmaster6471 the TIE Bomber has a pair of blaster cannons. Established since the original TIE Figher game. In fact, one of the missions makes you use one as an emergency fighter

Revan Well the OT Y-wings were stripped down reused version of the PT ones
yes
Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry good work
Well technically the OT version had 4 variants; one which was piloted by 1 pilot and 1 astromech which had ion cannons locked in the forward position, a version with 1 pilot, 1 astromech and laser cannons instead of ion cannons though still had them locked in the forwards position, one with 1 pilot, 1 gunner and an astromech which had ion cannons that could be moved 360 due to it having a gunner and another one with 1 pilot, 1 gunner, 1 astromech and laser cannons which could rotate 360 due to it having a gunner.

Ooh do the Eta-2 Jedi Starfighter Vs the Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter, this one should be very interesting!
Tie/D Automated Starfighter vs Droid Tri-Fighter would be my suggestion. :)
On the other hand if u put pilot’s that are Jedi the n1 would probably loose because of the extra stuff slowing it down
i'd love to see the Twilight from the clone wars vs the ghost

lol the battle of some of the ugliest ships ever
Harrower class dreadnought vs. Acclamator class assault ship
The more you know
1:49 "Both starfighters are set up to be space superiority fighters"
2:00 "The delta 7 was meant more for reconnaissance missions"
2:17 "The N1 starfighter seems more suited for ceremonial duties"
So are they dogfighters or not?
I can’t stop watching this!
I've always thought of the Naboo fighter as like a space P-26 Peashooter, a colorful pre-war design that was pretty but woefully underpowered and underarmed relative to wartime fighter plane designs
I get the matchup is head to head dogfighting but from a ship design standpoint having a built in hyperdrive is a pretty big plus.
Ehh...
I understand this might not make any sense for a beam/energy weapon... but hey, suspension of disbelief + The Rule of Cool xD
This dogfight/chase has to be one of my favorite visual/audio experiences from the new Star Wars trilogy :D
This concept looks/sounds/feels absolutely f'king amazing, a not for a moment did I stop to question the practicality.
Beyond the fairly common knowledge that the Star Wars design team openly modelled their starfighter craft and combat off of WWI/WWII fighter combat, I have no official sources backing up these claims xP
It's possssible that I may have a liiiiitttle too much nerdy enthusiasm backing up my belief in this idea.... xPP
Despite how absurd and overbearing this wall of text must appear...
This should add something interesting. *Nahel Argama* (UC) versus *Quasar Fire* with both at great distance apart.

Obi Wan's Delta 7 takes docens of hits.
Plo Koon's takes around 5 to 10 to burst into flames.

Perhaps Plo Koon's ship had all shields set forward, since he was not expecting to be fired from behind
Next Matchup is the Athersprite Delta 7B Vs TIE.

The later Delta 7 in the clone wars had room for a full astromec
You are fairly right about the hippie nature of the N1 The legends exclamation for its design was it was an anti-piracy vessel at most more of a police function then an actual heavy Star fighter function it's also important to remember that even though Obi-Wan is a Jedi he not a Jedi Ace his force talents are not the sharpest in that area so he's closer to a normal ace pilot than say Luke or Anakin
Kenobi was considered one of the best pilots the Jedi had to offer. Below Anakin and Sasse Tin but likely equal or slightly below Plo Koon
