@@SilverFang95 As far as I'm aware, the only form we have a named creator for is the Vaapad variant of Form VII, which was created by Mace Windu. However, the Juyo variant of Form VII was created much earlier, and was predominately used by dark siders. Otherwise, the forms were used by both sides. As for material, _The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force_ has information on the forms, and is pretty cohesive for a single source. You might check out Jensaarai1's videos on lightsaber forms, where he talks a lot about the sum of information we have on each, some of the sources, and talks about his own interpretations of said information.
I'd imagine that to create a new lightsaber form a student would have to come up with unique ways to not only use attacks and defense combinations, but also figure out new ways to use the lightsaber. Much harder to do in the clone wars/imperial era vs post endor and Luke's new jedi order. How rey will take to lightsaber combat, as well as how shell teach it in her new jedi order idk
I know I would. Not at the exclusion of the Force but to further help me connect with it. I’ve always found a lot of spirituality in practice of the martial arts.
The force makes swordfighting really cool, you basically enter a trance where you move inhumanly fast and can predict all your opponents attacks. Masters of lightsaber combat look like blurs to the naked eye. Plus force abilities suck against force users unless you have a big power advantage
I believe in legends there were also different councils of the jedi besides the high council, like the agricultural council that led those sections of the order.
You missed one of my favorites, and easily the rarest. The ceremonial title Barsen'thor. Which Translates to "Warden of The Order". First given posthumously to a young Jedi Padawan who sacrificed himself to redeem his fallen brother. It would be later adopted by the order as a title given to Jedi who undergo great personal sacrifice to redeem the light in fallen Jedi. In known Jedi history this title was only bestowed to three honored Jedi.
@@krispybacon9927 not much is known about the second one. But the third Barsen'thor is unnamed because they’re your custom Jedi consular in the game SWTOR. They also have a tomb on chandrila in the Jedi academy game I believe.
@@NotPassive-356 Luke could, because he brought his father back to the light. Vader couldn't. The title is for redeeming someone at great cost to self.
I can see Leia as a Sentinel - she was a politician and could influence others. Since she lived during war time she also developed some Guardian skills with combat and military leadership roles.
10:2816:16 now there’s your next tv show right there. A Star Wars crime drama. That would be awesome. Although I’m not clear how they would be different. I get the sense some of these specializations overlapped somewhat.
I'd definitely be a Consular, healer type. I prefer the more force aspects of the jedi, and the ability to treat wounds and sicknesses would be incredible
I really appreciate the video. Had no idea there were so many classes, sub-classes and ranks. A very informative video. Might have to somehow incorporate this into one of our Role Playing Games someday.
DUDE SERIOUSLY!!!! Perfect video. Star Wars content that actually about SW and not whatever is going on now a days, and it is very informative and well researched. The video even has what song is being played in the background cuz most of the time you find a song in a video and can't seem to figure out the name or who made it. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! subscribed for sure :) Btw I would totally be a guardian above all else, the archaeologist sounded pretty sweet as well. Kinda like Indiana Jones if he was a lightsaber wielding wizard .
Bruh, Rey Palpatine learned all these specializations within months of training. Meanwhile, Luke got old and grumpy and decided to forego his great inner strength and wisdom to murder his padawan.
It was so boring to see the original trilogy plot line again, I was hoping to see Luke as a powerful grandmaster with a new Jedi order. The hopeful end of the OT is ruined knowing that basically everything was lost just a few years later again
Amazing video! I love this channel because you do list videos like this. They are very interesting and teach us a lot about the various types of things in the star wars galaxy. Would like to see more :)

What about the Jedi Assassin? They're Sentinels and are quite similar to the shadows and investigators. Their main objective is to use the force to hunt down sith. I may be wrong and Jedi Shadows are the same thing so if you could clear this up that would be great.
Consular for me. Would prefer to see things through and check on a lot of differing perspectives before either brokering a fair deal or two or striking down possible oppressors with the help of justified evidence and permission from some higher-ups and even the Force to do such a thing. (Yes, the latter is a Guardian concept, but that's also part of my mindset.) Bonus if I'm also an Ace.
You've fought nearly nonstop for 10 years, You've nearly run out of enemies to fight, then you see your nemesis and have him in your clutches. Then a wall of force proof bon fire stops you from taking vengeance on someone who has been a hobo for ten years...
There is another rank in legends Barsen'thor of the jedi order this rank was given to the most powerful jedi in terms of force ability or force affinity. This title translates to the the warden of the order.
I would want to either be an Historian, with the goal of codifying how the Tenets of the Order evolved throughout history, or as a Biologist so I could spearhead conservation efforts and improve relations between the main Order and the Service Corp. However, the way I envision using the Force is more in line with the Sentinels - even if none of their subcategories jive as well with me as the Historians or Biologists do.
10:39 !!! Finally an answer to why Ashoka has white light sabers, and no one else does!! Looks like Bariss Offee's rant about th Jedi not being peace keepers resonated with her after burying her old saber.
White sabers are made using a Sith crystal (red) that has been purified with the light side of the force. Because Ahsoka is not a Lucas character Disney likely changed this to fit into their vision of how things should have been.
If they ever have a show based on Young Yoda, they really need to dwell deep into the process of younglin train all the way to padwan. Be interesting to see many other characters in the training process. Like the first Harry Potter movie, but with Jedis
Some interesting ethical implications with some of these- would the Jedi who collaborate with police or governments accept injustice to maintain peace? If the options are slavery or war on a planet, what would they choose? And what are the ethical procedures of the Jedi who do generic experiments? Seems like messing with the force in such a way can have horrible and dangerous results.
Well the first question is answered, although I know 2 cases where the Jedi uphold the Republic injustice with the massacre of the True Mandalorian and subjugation of the Kaleesh. The Jedi are still good but they have become stagnated and follow the Republic even when they become corrupted. I think the problem is that the Republic and Jedi are too interconnected. I am not sure whether they are codependent
The thing is, a Jedi can only do so much. They’re just one person with maybe a padawan helping. If there’s some kind of grand scale injustice, they can’t just wave a hand or a lightsaber and magically fix everything. Consider Qui-gon on Tatooine. He can’t single handedly end slavery across the planet, at least not with the time he has, but he can help out where he can by freeing Anakin and trying to free his mother. As for the researchers, regular scientists have ethical guidelines as to what they’re allowed to do with experimentation methods, I don’t imagine the Jedi wouldn’t also.
18:00 Probably Jedi Sentinel, Watchmen. I think I could do well being on a single planet as a rep for the temple. Taking time to get to know the people there and forming good long term relationships with the locals.
If I had any inclination for a Jedi Class, somewhere within a Counselor and Artisan hybrid feels like a strong affinity for my life, I enjoy the concept of building from imagination and applying it for practical use.
I would be a jedi quartermaster since its the closest thing to being an engineer in the jedi order, maybe even create an engineer field aimed to design and create new technologies to simplify and possibly improve the life of the other jedi, and perhaps of the universe
The jedi academy is basically set up to be an awesome anime, special powers, an ambiguous and complicated beliefs system, a well meaning but ultimately flawed leadership structure, opportunity for a ton of unique and uncoventional character designs, a wise mentor to choose the main character for reasons other people don't see, hell there's even a tournament arc lol
I think they went WAY too deep with some of these specializations (Jedi Ace? LOL, alright…) BUT, the idea of a Jedi Sentinel sounds rad AF. Jedi detectives, bounty hunters, internal affairs agents, etc. You can’t dislike that idea. That warrants further spotlight (but not from Disney)
I mean . . . they kind of own Star Wars so ANYTHING in terms of Star Wars we get for the foreseeable future is "from Disney." Although I mean . . . the Mandalorian, Andor, Visions, Rebels it hasn't all been bad. I would love to see more of the Jedi Order though, especially their internal lives. They've always been my favorite part of the franchise.
Honestly, I would rather be part of the sentinel group and I would want to specialize as a Jedi shadow are the only group that for the most part did survive the Jedi purge in legends anyway. Also, they're taught a wide range they are the Jedi Order's special forces Group.
I find the combination of Artisan and Investigator to be most fitting for myself. Designing starships to the highest possible standards. Crafts of artisanal quality, unparalleled in their beauty and effectiveness. And being able to fly them to their best potential, of course. Yet in times of necessity seeking out criminals and dark side cults in order to protect citizens of the galaxy, as well as seeking missing persons. These two combine the Sentinel school‘s teachings best fitting for me. Being connected to citizens, working with them as equals, but not hesitated to protect them.
The only reason I think they failed is because they got balance confused as they wanted only light side instead of light and dark like in “dawn of the Jedi” comics
I’d choose something with a combination of wisdom and knowledge seeking as well as mastering force and saber combat. The goal would to of course become a powerful and wise warrior with much honor. But the far larger goal would be to understand the force and afterlife and one’s purpose in life and live accordingly
Great job with the video. I five questions for anyone. 1. Which one do you prefer: Sith or Jedi ? If you had to be A Sith who would be your master ? 2. What is your favorite era in the legends universe ? 3. What is your favorite movie and what would have happened if Galen Marek had completely join the dark side ? 4. Who do you prefer: Shaak Ti or Aayla Secura 5. And do you think should be the wife of my Star Wars creative character-Shaak ti or Aayla Secura ?
1. I prefer the Sith, and if I were a Sith I would prefer to have either Plagueis or Darth Bane (Dooku is an honorable mention). Plagueis because he would actually care about me or at least want to keep me around, as he believed the Rule of Two to be done. He would allow me to benefit from his midichlorian research, allowing us to become immortal overlords. He would also see me as an equal partner after a long enough apprenticeship. Bane, due to his principled outlook compared to most Sith, and his willingness to make me as good a Sith as I could be. If I were a Jedi, I would want either T'ra Saa, Luke Skywalker, or Kyle Katarn as my master. T'ra Saa due to her being a Clone Wars era Jedi that could be quite devout to the Jedi Code, but who could love and be quite motherly. She could see you as a person and be there for you. Luke, due to his fixing of all the previous Jedi issues and the likelihood that I would probably wind up as one of the most powerful Jedi of all time. And, Kyle Katarn due to his more balanced philosophy, and his skill as a teacher. 2. My favorite era is either the Fall of the Republic/Rise of the Empire Era (1,000 BBY-0 BBY) or the collective era of: the Rebellion era, the New Republic era, the New Jedi Order era, and the Legacy era (0 BBY-4 ABY, 5 ABY-25 ABY, 25 ABY-37 ABY, and 37 ABY-140 ABY). I particularly like the Legends Clone Wars era due to its consistency and the quality of its stories (minus TCW 2008 as it retcons way too much good stuff to fit). The Empire and Rebellions era for a similar reason, just less so. The New Republic and New Jedi Order eras are when the creative minds of the writers were at their peak, for good or ill. Plus, I like the NJO's members about as much on average as the Clone Wars lineup. And Legacy, because the Legacy of the Force novels were damn good, and the Legacy comics are horribly underrated. 3. My favorite film is "The Empire Strikes Back", as I would say it is objectively the best of the films in all areas. "Revenge of the Sith" is a close second, followed by "A New Hope" and "Return of the Jedi". As for Galen, things would be a better outcome for the Rebellion if Vader was dead, but would progress similarly. 4. I prefer Shaak Ti because she was a badass, but so was Aayla. I do find Aayla's story of losing and eventually reclaiming herself very touching, and very heartbreaking in its end. As the reason she gets lit up so bad in Order 66 is due to Commander Bly and his men caring about her so much that they didn't want her to suffer. They wanted her end to come swiftly and almost gently, as she did die on the first volley, and the rest was insurance. 5. Aayla already has Kit Fisto, a stint with her Master Quinlan Voss, and a fling with Commander Bly. As for Shaak Ti. She never struck me as one for romance, but she would be the only potential option. I say potential, because the likelihood still is not great.
It's the same as the old one here in this video with some differences, a couple of differences I know is that force-sensitive individuals can join at any age instead of being taken very young like in the old days, love is encouraged between Jedis instead of being shunned due to fear of falling to darkness, love is a powerful emotion after all and lastly, they remove themselves from political galactic affairs, the new Jedi order is their own sovereignty in the galaxy and while they work alongside the galactic republic like the old Jedi order did to some degree, they don't take orders from them, not even from their new chancellor, under the leadership of Jedi grandmaster luke skywalker, the new Jedi order takes peacekeeping taskforce very seriously.
I would be a Jedi Shadow (Sentinel) because Jedi Shadows were permitted to study and wield Dark Side Force Powers beyond what was normal for a Jedi Knight. Best way of surviving Order 66 if I was assigned to the Jedi Temple at that point, unless I encountered Anakin.
Well considering most were caught off guard and after 3 years of watching Jedi fight finding weaknesses like overwhelming them with large numbers its not too hard to believe
I would love to be a jedi sentinel because they focused on some lightsaber and force skill but combined them with practical skills which sounds amazing
If you were a Jedi, what field of study would you specialize in and what accomplishments would you hope to achieve?
I feel like I would go for the weaponmaster.
I train in weaponry already in real life, so it isn't far from who I am, only new unique weaponry.

There's not really a requirement to master a lightsaber form, though the Trial of Skill requires you to at least be fully proficient in one.
@@InSanic13 Ah okay, thanks! Are there any cohesive reading/comic material, legends or otherwise out there, or is it just piecemealed throughout legends and such? Also, do we know who, specifically, created each form? Does the dark side have their own forms? I know that they have different styles, but I'm not sure about any forms. Sorry for the questions but there is soo much out there with Star Wars I just don't know where to look haha
Of course they did. The incorrect or their take on the form they should he learning...
-Some guy on UA-cam
I'd imagine that to create a new lightsaber form a student would have to come up with unique ways to not only use attacks and defense combinations, but also figure out new ways to use the lightsaber. Much harder to do in the clone wars/imperial era vs post endor and Luke's new jedi order. How rey will take to lightsaber combat, as well as how shell teach it in her new jedi order idk
Imagine having limitless force magic that can move tons and shoot lightning but you choose to be a swordfighter instead.
I love the art you use. It's a great window into the non-cinematic side of Star Wars
I had no idea the Jedi order had so many classes and subclasses!!!! Great great great great video!!!!!
Which three
@@krispybacon9927 not much is known about the second one. But the third Barsen'thor is unnamed because they’re your custom Jedi consular in the game SWTOR. They also have a tomb on chandrila in the Jedi academy game I believe.
@@kumanaz2765 that’s pretty cool
@@kumanaz2765 Couldn't luke or Vader be one?
@@NotPassive-356 Luke could, because he brought his father back to the light. Vader couldn't. The title is for redeeming someone at great cost to self.
I can see Leia as a Sentinel - she was a politician and could influence others. Since she lived during war time she also developed some Guardian skills with combat and military leadership roles.
She did have yellow lightsabers in force unleashed 2
@@breadg1818 That's awesome
A very nice overview. I like reading so I would probably become something like an archivist or librarian.
10:28 16:16 now there’s your next tv show right there.
I always go medic in games. So, I'm right with you

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! subscribed for sure :)
Btw I would totally be a guardian above all else, the archaeologist sounded pretty sweet as well. Kinda like Indiana Jones if he was a lightsaber wielding wizard .
The prequels had so much lore I love it. I was hoping during the sequel Era we could see jedi in their prime once more
Then disney came
you can, just go read the books^^
Bruh, Rey Palpatine learned all these specializations within months of training. Meanwhile, Luke got old and grumpy and decided to forego his great inner strength and wisdom to murder his padawan.
It was so boring to see the original trilogy plot line again, I was hoping to see Luke as a powerful grandmaster with a new Jedi order. The hopeful end of the OT is ruined knowing that basically everything was lost just a few years later again
I would've been a Jedi Ace, till they kicked me out for doing too many barrel rolls in peace time.

What about the Jedi Assassin?
They're Sentinels and are quite similar to the shadows and investigators. Their main objective is to use the force to hunt down sith. I may be wrong and Jedi Shadows are the same thing so if you could clear this up that would be great.
The Jedi are not assasins you are twisting undercover work with assassination that is not something the jedi do.
@@barneywarren4640Except they did but regretted it because it was not the Jedi way lmao
Beautiful! Magnificent piece of art you created. I ❤it! Fantastic story telling and arrangement.
“You are on this council,But we do not Grant you the rank of Master”
Consular for me. Would prefer to see things through and check on a lot of differing perspectives before either brokering a fair deal or two or striking down possible oppressors with the help of justified evidence and permission from some higher-ups and even the Force to do such a thing. (Yes, the latter is a Guardian concept, but that's also part of my mindset.)
Bonus if I'm also an Ace.
Finally a new upload from my favorite Star Wars lore channel!!!! ❤️🔥
You've fought nearly nonstop for 10 years, You've nearly run out of enemies to fight, then you see your nemesis and have him in your clutches.
Then a wall of force proof bon fire stops you from taking vengeance on someone who has been a hobo for ten years...
I always found it sensical that the Jedi Order had highly specialised positions.
A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.
There is another rank in legends Barsen'thor of the jedi order this rank was given to the most powerful jedi in terms of force ability or force affinity. This title translates to the the warden of the order.
I’d definitely be a peacekeeper. The idea of tracking down criminals and working with law enforcement on planets such as Coruscant sounds really cool.
Bro be a cop
Yeah violently surpressing civil unrest on a planet that suffers from such massive inequality like Coruscant sounds like a right laugh.
Then you have truly fallen to the dark side
Wizard cops!
@@pmc8451 congrats you described every society in human history
Simplified list (in text form) with all ranks will be great.
I love legends, also the longer vids. Marvelous!
this is a solid video! so much depth on the jedi
Be careful not to become Kreia, she was a historian before she want to destroy the Force (joke)
@@yaujj65 And a damn good one! XD

Lol
I was expecting the title of Jedi Lord and thought you weren't gonna mention it. Happy that you did.
What an amazing video, thank you very much!
I’m only realising now how much Jedi there was before order 66
The Jedi chef used the force to flavor food and make dat lamb sauce bussin.
As cool as peacekeeping sounds, I'd realistically be a Consular working with the archives in some capacity.
Nothing wrong with either. :)
18:00 Probably Jedi Sentinel, Watchmen. I think I could do well being on a single planet as a rep for the temple. Taking time to get to know the people there and forming good long term relationships with the locals.
I learnt a lot from this video. Keep up the Good Work
If I had any inclination for a Jedi Class, somewhere within a Counselor and Artisan hybrid feels like a strong affinity for my life, I enjoy the concept of building from imagination and applying it for practical use.
5:45 The fact that this looks like a force skewb is either a funny coincidence or the best pun ever
Probably a jedi consular sage, since I would want to defend others but rely more on the force
I would be a jedi quartermaster since its the closest thing to being an engineer in the jedi order, maybe even create an engineer field aimed to design and create new technologies to simplify and possibly improve the life of the other jedi, and perhaps of the universe
This video really puts into perspective how tragic Order 66 was on the galaxy.
Jedi recruiting would make an interesting show or movie of a master finding his replacement or something like that
I think they went WAY too deep with some of these specializations (Jedi Ace? LOL, alright…)
BUT, the idea of a Jedi Sentinel sounds rad AF.
Great video! The lore is epic!
12:39 is basically the lore master Confirming he’s a Jedi
This was informative. Thank you TRULY.
Nice video, well made. But by the 12 minute mark, I was expecting to hear about Jedi electricians and painters and maybe Jedi Janitors.
This cool video mister the lore master
padawans that failed their test were also sent to become jedi temple guards, not just serve in the service corps.
@@wren1024 yes it was.
The only reason I think they failed is because they got balance confused as they wanted only light side instead of light and dark like in “dawn of the Jedi” comics
Classic lore master videos
I’d choose something with a combination of wisdom and knowledge seeking as well as mastering force and saber combat. The goal would to of course become a powerful and wise warrior with much honor. But the far larger goal would be to understand the force and afterlife and one’s purpose in life and live accordingly
Given your content you'd make a great lore keeper 😄
Great job with the video.
I five questions for anyone.
1. Which one do you prefer: Sith or Jedi ? If you had to be A Sith who would be your master ?
2. What is your favorite era in the legends universe ?
3. What is your favorite movie and what would have happened if Galen Marek had completely join the dark side ?
4. Who do you prefer: Shaak Ti or Aayla Secura
5. And do you think should be the wife of my Star Wars creative character-Shaak ti or Aayla Secura ?
5) None of them, having a wife is against the jedi code
@@maffiatmarcatto367 It didn't stop Anakin.
@@savagedarksider5934 and look what he became
@@maffiatmarcatto367 Anakin would've fallen to the dark side anyway(...) It is part of his destiny.
Man, I wonder how much different in organizaton, philosphy and application Luke's New Jedi Order was(in legends).
Watching this really made me agree to anakins statement. How can you be on the council, but not a master?
It's hard to believe with so many jedi around, with so many specializations, none of them sniffed Sidious' grand scheme
Turn subtitles on and go to 12:48
He says "librarians" and the subtitles show "liberians."
I don't think they had space Liberia, but maybe?
I would be a Jedi Shadow (Sentinel) because Jedi Shadows were permitted to study and wield Dark Side Force Powers beyond what was normal for a Jedi Knight. Best way of surviving Order 66 if I was assigned to the Jedi Temple at that point, unless I encountered Anakin.
Jedi Secret Police?
Internal Affairs would have sounded less ominous.
Hard to believe that Order 66 was able to kill all the Jedis.
Well considering most were caught off guard and after 3 years of watching Jedi fight finding weaknesses like overwhelming them with large numbers its not too hard to believe
Lord Vader entered to Jedi Home
There were around 10,000 Jedi Knights defending the galaxy! In Wookieepedia, (1% survival rate with 100 or so surviving)!
Awesome video man!!
I definitely be a Grand Jedi Master and from the Old Republic and somewhat survive 4000 years of war
For grandmasters since this is legends you should’ve included images of Satele Shan and Nomi Sunrider
I would love to be a jedi sentinel because they focused on some lightsaber and force skill but combined them with practical skills which sounds amazing
