They now have a larger restaurant, that used to be a pub, just outside Bradford. The food is great. I purchased a copy of their cookery book last time I was there that came with a jar of spices.

You know what the weird thing is? Nobody ever plays Achy Breaky heart while showing American restaurants selling american food. However, whenever it is brown people, there will always be some out of date bollywood music playing in the background. It's almost like using HipHop/Rap music to introduce a black person. I kinda find it funny in a weird way.
Its traditional music, you hear cliche Italian music in Italy restraunts, country music in country restraunts, and jazz music in New Orleans restraunts on any show.
To be fair there are shows like Diners Drive-ins and Dives that play 1950s rockabilly music while showing white people cook burgers and BBQ and other similar items.

Let's not do "western" food a disservice. Don't get me wrong - Indian is probably my favourite cuisine, and I also love Chinese, Malay, Thai, etc. But there is also a big place in my heart for French, Italian and Spanish cuisine. Even Peruvian food was incredible when I went to South America. There are delicious flavours everywhere, only people whose palate has been dulled by prejudice will be unable to taste them.

@@DC-wp6oj Pakistani food is different from Indian food. They tend to be more spicy and oily compared to most Indian foods. There are some shared recipes but the Pakistani adaptation always has more spice and grease.
Rayyan Ali Also Pakistani food does have Afghan, Iranian and Turkish influences. But the core ingredients are of Indian origin and there are variations of taste from state to state. Pakistani food does taste far better whereas ‘Indian’ food is more bland.

There is a thing with Indian Restaurants and sweet shops, they can have same name YET not be related to each other. The famous e.g is ' AGGARWAL SWEETS'. There may be atleast 1000 Aggarwal sweets in India, but they aren't a franchise, they are independent establishments. Aggarwal is a surname, no one claim rights over surname, so people open restaurants with same name. Perhaps, this is the same case with "Prashad", I hope that clears things.

The best Indian food I've tasted in the UK was from a small takeaway food van that used to be on leather lane market. It was nothing to look at. Just an old food truck. You would have assumed it would be rubbish. They cooked the food infront of you and it was absolutely exceptional. Far more authentic than the usual massive bowl of hot creamy sauce that you get in most restaurants.
I have friends in the u.k. complaining that there's too many Indian restaurants and here i am in Miami struggling to find good Indian food

OMG I USED TO LIVE IN BRADFORD!!!!!!!! I lived literally like a 10 minute walk away. I've even been to this restaurant! Nothing compared to the real indian food though...idk what ramsay liked so much about the food
Indian food is one of the tastiest foods in the world. Tamil , Kerela, Andhra, Punjabi, Kolkatta, cuisines...
They left this place and went into larger premises not too far away. The food when I visited was superb.

Prashad is actually a Gujarati Restaurant, it does not even serve proper North Indian vegetarian recipes, I've eaten here twice. Gordon Ramsay judging what is good Indian food is a joke that cannot be matched.

Think it has something to do with the caste system. Low castes are probably not given any meat, so they stay smaller and darker than the high castes (think those are the hindis with the lipstick-dot between the eyes, or something).

Ramsey hasn't tasted really good Indian food until he stepped foot down in the deep south of India in Kerala and seen the authentic food from restaurants, homes and if you can stand the heat, the toddy shops (they deliberately make it extra hot so you buy more toddy to cool down your palette).
That's where the heart of Indian cooking is at...not up North which is representative of 95% of Indian food in restaurants worldwide. The difference is like night and day. Not that North cooking is bad at all, it's just different.
Even a standard restaurant in Kerala would only have a small sample of the enormity of dishes available there. The natural ingredients that nature provides there gives you everything you need to create some of the most amazing dishes...and it's not heavy as the options you get up north.
I believe the secret to their food is the fact that nothing is imported...meaning whatever ingredients you might want, it grows or is readily available there so it's all at your fingertips because of the tropical/humid climate whereas the North is just hot. So thousands of years of having that at your fingertips and the creative elements to combine the right ingredients makes some of the most delicious recipes the world has yet seen. Only thing, you have to love spice to truly enjoy it.
