She’s credited as Mrs Loud on this (and didn’t get paid royalties because she did her bit as a guide track as they were trying to get Bonnie Tyler or Cher and her voice sounds like a cross between both but in the end they just used the guide track) and as herself on other tracks.
Meatloaf and Jim Steinman were an amazing collaborative team. Together they produced amazing music and songs. The video is a take off of Beauty & the Beast. Back in the day, many videos were structured around stories and some stories followed the songs lyrics, while others were totally out of nowhere but still held you captive. Meatloaf was huge in the 70's with his Bat out of Hell album. This album was Bat out of Hell II-Back into Hell, which was the 90's.
I always thought this was styled after Beauty and the Beast, but one thing throws me-the women who climb into bed with her while she's asleep that reminds me of Dracula, where the women climb into bed with Jonathan Harker.
@@allenwhitmer8192 Definitely inspired by that scene but after the woman falls asleep in the chair in front of the fireplace, the bath scenes and the bed scenes were all in his definitely fevered imagination until his smashing of the mirrors woke her up...
Meatloaf epic from 1993! The woman singing is Lorraine Crosby, however she is NOT the woman that appears in the video. That's an actress called Dana Patrick. The video was directed by Michael Bay
U seem to really know your ML history and you would be correct!!! My only wonder is that nobody gets the Francis Ford Coppola's BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA (1992,) Movie is NEVER mentioned in any reactions. ML/ Michael Bay took the scene of the three brides of DRACULA/ Gary Oldman, including Monica Bellucci, having a " munch out time" of Keanu Reaves as they did in the musical video with the actress.
@@charlenegodbee1202 Truly inspired by that but after the woman falls asleep in the chair in front of the fireplace, the bath scenes and the bed scenes were all in his definitely fevered imagination until his smashing of the mirrors woke her up...
Composer Jim Steinman was way ahead of his time, and yet his songs are also timeless, which is why they'll still be getting listened to and rocked out to in another five-hundred-years. Meat Loaf's powerful, thundering, heldentenor voice was the perfect vehicle for them.
It felt like a movie because the song was written by Jim Steinman who knew how to compose music for the theatrical singing style of Meat Loaf …. And this high quality 1993 video was produced and directed by big time Hollywood director Michael Bay , thus the amazing professional movie quality video !
Meatloaf is great! He just died last year from Covid. His 1975 album called Bat Out Of Hell is among the Top 5 albums of all time!😮Three hits from the album : Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad, Paradise By The Dashboard Lights and You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth.
Listen to the longer version audio.. but put head phones on.. like queen the music moves from ear to ear. 12 min of magic. Have you listened to Ah Ha.. " Take On Me".. way ahead of its time too
Meatloaf only credited "Mrs. Loud" as the singer, and despite her sounding very similar to Bonnie Tyler, it was in fact Lorraine Crosby. She happened to be cleaning in the studio, and he invited her to sing on the tract. The woman in the video is not the actual singer, but a model.
He also based this video from Frances Ford Cappella's 1992 "Bram Stockers Dracula." Watch the part when K. REEVES IS bitten by the three brides, including Monica Bellucci.
Great reaction! This song was a huge comeback hit for ML and I understand that the video was wildly expensive. You really have to watch a ML performance to fully appreciate his extraordinary talent IMO. Paradise by the Dashboard Lights official video would be a great next ML/Steinman experience.
Re which song I prefer, Bat Out of Hell is my very fav for singing as loud as I can. Love the reckless feel, the tempo shifts, the weepy yet triumphant ending. And those last few notes. Dude. All ML songs yank my emotions all over the place…. He and Steinman cannot be duplicated.
I'm wondering why no one gets the correlation of Francis Ford Coppola's, Bram Stoker's Dracula, 1992. The three brides, including Monica Bellucci , are with Keanu Reeves in the bed, just as in the ML video(1993) the three brides are with the actress in the video. Yes, there are "Beauty and the Beast " vibes, but that scene was taken directly from the movie above. PEACE ✌!
1993 Bat to the hell 2 This is the name of the album that contains good lyrics and interpretation "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" Released: August 31, 1993 (US) "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" Released: January 1994 (US) With the intervention of the daughter ofJon Voight. Angelina Jolie
Beauty and beast theme.. I love this song better even than paradice by the dashboard and that's a great song too.. but I love the mini movie in this video.
The girl in the video is an actress not the actual woman who sings it. Another amazing meatloaf songs are two out of three ain't bad, objects in the rearview mirror, and hot patootie from The Rocky horror picture show which you really need to see😂
Great reaction guys!!! The two that I would LOVE to see y'all react to are 1. A remake by the Tenors featuring Lindsey Stirling called "Who Wants to Live Forver" originally by Queen. Same kinda movie quality theme vampires and really awesome. 2nd Steelheart called "I will never let you go." The lead singer had to break some sound barriers for sure lol. True 80's power ballad!!!! Y'all Keep Rocking 🤟😎😎🤟
This song and album mark Meatloaf’s comeback. Honestly, I thought “Rock n’ Roll Dreams Come Through” and “I’d Lie For You and That’s The Truth” were better.
all i can focus on is how the twin on the right looks like Jared Padaleki at the beginning of SPN. am I the only one who sees this? Lorriaine Crosby was the voice, the "body" is different.
The girl you see in the video is Dana Patrick, but that's not her voice you hear. Like most music videos, the performers are lip syncing to the album's audio track and the female lead vocals were provided by Lorraine Crosby. So, it's Dana you _see,_ but Lorraine you _hear._ Similarly, on the video for Meat Loaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" Karla DeVito lip syncs to Ellen Foley's audio. There you see Karla but hear Ellen.
If you want t9 check out some special live performances then take a look at Beth Hart&Joe Bonamassa singing I’d Rather Go Blind and Dire Straits doing the Alchemy Live version Telegraph Road. Both of them are absolutely phenomenal. Two guitarists in Joe with Beth Hart and Mark Knoffler with dire straits give two of the best guitar performances ever. Don’t miss out on these guys 😊
This is talent. It has a symphony feel. I miss this era of music because there was actual talent. This is for sure from the 80/90’s era. The music was more important than the image of the artist. I do not like the sound in today’s music with the fake drums and instruments.
The female voice sounds a bit like Bonnie Tyler who also sang a few Jim Steinman songs. Try Total Eclipse Of The Heart by her. It's a bonkers video that has random shit happening in it. But epic song like this.
RIP Meat Loaf
RIP Jim Steinman
Creative and performative geniuses!
Meat Loaf started in the 70's. This came out in 1993. The female singer is Lorraine Crosby.
She’s credited as Mrs Loud on this (and didn’t get paid royalties because she did her bit as a guide track as they were trying to get Bonnie Tyler or Cher and her voice sounds like a cross between both but in the end they just used the guide track) and as herself on other tracks.
Mrs Loud. Respect the artist.
That is considered a rock opera. Meatloaf was known for that. There are some fantastic live videos of him too!
Was in Rocky Horror and Fight Club...they should check both out

Meatloaf, what can you say, amazing. so entertaining he gave it it all in his performances. RIP
This one of the greatest EPIC songs of all time. RIP Meat
Nothing can compare to "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights! The live performance is incredible!!!

I've always thought, Meatloafs songs were like Broadway plays this is one for sure. amazing musicianship
Is like a Beauty and The Beast type of thing
Listen to the longer version audio.. but put head phones on.. like queen the music moves from ear to ear. 12 min of magic.

Sounds more like Tina Turner to me LOL
It's like a verson of "Beauty and the Beast." Love Meatloaf's voice!

Its directed by Michael bay so thats probably why iy feels modern
Paradise by the dashboard lights is a must. Great reaction and Peace out guys ✌️ ☮️
He was trained in opera originally. I think that's why he has more of a theatrical style.
The next one you should hear is Objects In The Rearview Mirror. Great reaction!
Bat out of Hell ...the song & album is epic. Rock opera. Wore out my 1st vinyl copy...lol. Good times😂
Me too, and wore out the cassette and 8 track as well. Such an epic album. And Bat Out of Hell 2, is amazing in its own right.
Combination of 1992 Frances Ford Coppela's "Bram Stocker's Dracula. "
If you think this was unique, try Paradise by the Dashboard Light from his 1977 Bat out of Hell album.
1993 Bat to the hell 2 This is the name of the album that contains good lyrics and interpretation
"I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)"

Check out some of his other songs I’m sure you like them to
Ok kiddo’s great job on the reaction !👍I call anyone under the age of 40 kiddos lol take it as a compliment from ol Sarge ✌️
I also think it looks less 80's/90's because they used widescreen, not the typical TV box shape aspect ratio
Beauty and beast theme.. I love this song better even than paradice by the dashboard and that's a great song too.. but I love the mini movie in this video.
Is anyone talking about how the revving motorcycle sound is actually guitar...
The lady in the video isn’t the lady who sings, the lady who sings is called “Lorraine Crosby” 👍
When it came out we just thought of it as another cool video. Same era and as November Rain
The director was Michael Bay, I believe.
You should listen to the full version. This is the radio/video edit. The full song is like 12 minutes long.
A very unique artist.
This video came out in the early 90’s
The girl in the video is an actress not the actual woman who sings it. Another amazing meatloaf songs are two out of three ain't bad, objects in the rearview mirror, and hot patootie from The Rocky horror picture show which you really need to see😂
I was super impressed.
It was produced by ...Darn, he's a famous director. ...
Check out some RATT for more great 80's rock-n-roll - "Round & Round", "Dance", "Nobody Rides for Free (from Point Break soundtrack)". So many.
The female voice is Lorraine Crosby, but for the video they use a model doing lip sinc with her voice.

He is beast in this video... From movie beauty and beast
The girl is a model and did not sing those parts. It was a voice over. Just read the wiki.
Forgot about this one!
she is lorrain crosby
Most commentaries haven't picked up on that scene.
Eye of the Tiger by Survivor , This is a song suggestion , I know you will enjoy it
Rip both the greats
