There is no one like Meat Loaf. There may never be another. RIP
There WILL never be another, the mold was broken after he arrived. RIP Meat
RIP, brother.
Word!
Rock Opera and he was the best ever.
@@johnv61There was no mold for people like Meatloaf, Freddy Mercury, etc. They where hand made and one of a kind, one in a eternity and never again.
Every song of Meat Loaf is a rock opera!
The man was insanely talented and also gives us all an excuse to get away with things.... I would do anything for love but I won't do that I sing as she asked me to vacuum... :P
Jim Steinman was a master lyricist and composer. RIP Jim Steinman & Meat Loaf
@@antivanti Congenial duo! RIP
Not EVERY song... But yeah, he's the King of Rock Opera.
@@ffjsb Hehe, yes, I was exaggerating, but just a little bit!
I'm old so I know this song, but watching the revelation in your face as you see everything first the first time makes this a great watch.
We're not old 😂 although realizing this came out when I was 14 made me choke a bit 😂
same! im like..shes gonna freak when this turns into duet
This is what is called a true music video... in the 80's... big productons and sets.
It came out in like 93 or so.
100%. I don't know anyone musician went so hard on making a music video into a full experience like Meatloaf would.
Another masterpiece from Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman. With Meat Loaf's background in theatre and acting, this is one of his best songs and videos. The woman in the video is Dana Patrick, a model doing a fantastic job of lip-syncing. Her actual voice is Loraine Crosby. This is a Beauty and the Beast theme but with a touch of Bram Stoker's "Dracula" thrown in.
firedoc.......kids these days are finally learning what real music is..........
firedoc?.......Medical Doc? or just a name
@@airforcefire520 Firefighter paramedic a couple of life times ago.
So glad you mentioned the incredible voice of Lorraine Crosby, whose voice we were all treated to here. Thanks! 🙋♂
@@jeffstevens4262 i believe Lorraine was in right place at right time ...... i think its said planned singer didn't turn up
A great voice and a TRUE showman.
This was actually a comeback of sorts for him during the 90's! A reminder if you will paying homage to the first blockbuster album that put him on the map back in the 70's which was called "Bat Out Of Hell!!" One of two "huge" hits from that album was called "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" which became a "teenage anthem" for my generation🤭😄😆 And then of course there was "the ballad"💔😭😂🤣 It's called "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad!!" Both are "epic!!" You should check them out when you get the chance👍✌️❤️🤟🎸🎶
Didn’t we have the best generation?
@@RoadDoug 😄Hey bro, love the "username" by the way!😆 To answer your query, mad dad would've taken issue with this,😇🤭 but as far as just being free spirited and having fun and enjoying the moment along with the "greatest" soundtrack imaginable to do that by, "fer'sure" yeah 👍 without a doubt!! It was such a different time, a much "simpler" time! Even with the problems that we did have, it was still a wonderful time to grow up in!!!✌️❤️🤟🎸🎶
@@JoelMartin-u4t yeah, I’m a Trucker. Hence the RoadDoug, it was my son’s idea.
As a 43 year old man it's hard to believe that this has gone under the radar of the younger generations. But that's how music goes. I remember my father interduce me to many older songs. He loved music an has passed it on to me. Luckily we have the internet now and it's much easier to share older classics like this one. Great reaction BTW. 😊
Younger Generation here, no worries my father showed me meat loaf just like all other of his favourites acdc, Grönemeyer, Westernhagen etc.
My personal Meatloaf favorite is "Two out of three ain't bad". Just a piano and pure talent.
And Heaven Can Wait, and For Crying Out Loud. The whole Bad Attitude album is also very underrated!
It's actually 1993. It's the follow up album to Bat out of Hell from 1977-8. Everything he does is cinematic like this. And Meat Loaf is the singer, not a group, believe it or not. Everything from the album Bat out of Hell is a classic!
I'm glad you liked it so much. This song came out in 1993. I just had to check the release date because I recorded it on my VCR the 2nd time MTV aired it. I was 13yrs old and I thought the video was so cool. Thanks for helping us with our addiction to nostalgia.
Me also 13 years old. This song can listen every day 😊😊😊
The album version is over eleven minutes of mind-blowing awesomeness!
And worth every second of listening! :)
Not only long meatloaf repeats his lines so much i don't know how he breaths it's amazing singing and an epic solo that ain't in the video
@@Raven5150 And also, the girl has two extra verses, why they left them out of this video I don't know.
The unedited was 70 some minutes
@@cr10001 The video was STILL longer than the common radio cut. I hate when they play that version because you can hear where they're dropping verses out.
"For crying out loud" is another masterpice from jim Steinmann and Meat loaf.
And very few reactions to what is probably the greatest love song ever written. "For Crying Out Loud" is a masterpiece.
Absolutely timeless classic, long live Meatloaf!!
Great reaction, meat loaf an absolute legend, extremely missed ❤❤❤
It's actually from 1993. You should definitely listen to his other songs. If you like theatrics you're in the right place with Meat Loaf. He was known for his dramatic and theatrical performances.
His 1977 album "Bat out of hell" is a banger. "Bat out of hell" and "Paradise by the dashboard light" are great examples of his theatrical and energetic stage performance.
Another great song from 1993 is "Objects in the rear view mirror (may appear closer than they are)".
He doesn't just sing a song, he literally lives it. He plays different characters in every song. And he always gives 150% on stage.
I love seeing a younger generation enjoying the classics
💜💜 Small correction : this is a mega song from the 90s! This song is legendary for the absolutely brilliant video - Beauty and the Beast! It is still one of my favorite songs! Amazing reaction, Millie ... 🌹🌹
Great reaction, Millie. Other Meatloaf tracks which I recommend are: "You Took The Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)", "Bat Out of Hell", "For Crying Out Loud", "Paradise by The Dashboard Light", "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad", "All Revved Up with No Place to Go", "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through", "It's All Coming Back to Me Now", "I'd Lie for You (and That's The Truth)", "Dead Ringer for Love", there are other tracks but these are good ones to start with.
Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are is pretty underrated
@@71deanYes, another excellent track, to be honest the majority of Meatloaf's stuff is good.
I'd add "Life is a Lemon (and I Want My Money Back)" to this list.
Midnight at the Lost and Found is another awesome song
Agree...
He was a man of a million different voices. Listen through a full album, and he brings out a new style of singing and music with each one. He was so excellent at what he did.
Beauty and the Beast theme. He was an original.
Everything Meatloaf did like this was really a broadway masterpiece. He used his extensive experience in that discipline to improve his videos and stage presence. The theme on this video is Brahm Stokers Dracula.
Michael I am glad some one else caught that vibe.i thought with the spliced footage from the movie more people would get the connection.regardless it is an incredible video
MEAT LOAF IS A LEGEND. Now you should listen to "2 out of 3 ain't bad" ... 🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎤😎
Meatloaf is also in the movie with Tim Curry Susan Sarandon The Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975 although Meatloaf's part is short-lived in the movie. Marvin Lee Aday AKA Meatloaf RIP.
Good morning and thank you for your amazing reaction. I now know what I looked like when I first heard and watched this beautiful piece of music and video. Like you, I was blown away. Thank you for reacting to this, you have so much more Meat Loaf to react to, and have a wonderful weekend.
The next hit from the "Bat Out of Hell II" album was "Objects in the Rear View Mirror". This song represents storytelling at it's best.
Great track that,awesome video too.
Yes, that should be your next one.
Agree, that should be next, followed by Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through
Pure talent!!!! I am RAP ARTIS-BEAT MAKER-and this songs are-over a moon-how not to say it’s pure genius with no fake voice overs auto tunes and high tech. People these days don’t know real music anymore. I am 42. Wake up young people. Go back and listen real music you can only take out from it 🎉
Welcome to the world of Meatloaf. Reactors favorites are Paradise By The Dashboard Lights, Bat Out Of Hell, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad but my favorite is For Crying Out Loud
Every song on the “Bat Out Of Hell” album, is phenomenal. Especially “For Crying Out Loud”.
Nice reaction MM. 🙂
This is the short version the Album version is 12 minutes long but for me his best song is on the Original Bat Out of Hell album and it's the song For Crying Out Loud.
Another duet Meatloaf does with Marion Raven is " It's All Coming Back To Me Now" You will enjoy the official video
As a 60-year-old man it fills my heart to see your reaction to the music I listened to at your age. This is why people of my generation are baffled as to how we went from this to Cardi B's WAP.
58. Agreed.
I can't believe, this is your first Meat Loaf reaction ever! Wow!
I think, you'd like "Paradise By The Dashboard Light"!
'live' version
Another thumbs up for "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights". That song is one of his greatest! 👍
I feel as if a part of my youth died with the passing of this wonderful entertainer and genuine human being. Marvin Lee Aday ( Michael) AKA Meatloaf your musical performances will live on! Thanks for the decades of memories.
Agreed. His loss hit me as hard as that of Robin Williams.
Around the same time there was a series called Beauty and the Beast……I think this is the feeling or the aesthetic he was going for in the making of this video. The music is epic! So happy to watch the joy and experience you are having! The best thing you can do in your life is to completely immerse yourself into the music!
Loved your reaction! No one writes them like Steinman (the tempo shifts!!) and no one can totally captivate me like ML. That voice! The way he uses it to manipulate emotions is unparalleled IMO. There is so much to love from these two. Bat Out Of Hell. Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad. Official videos to get the full ML treatment. For Crying Out Loud is a vocal tour de force…and the music. I could go on…. The lyrics. The masterful musicians and backup vocals.Just wow.
This is the most beautiful song in the history of music ,Meat loaf was a very theatrical on stage performer . Next try 2out of 3 ain't bad .
Loved your reaction Millie, the joy and amazement said it all.
It's from the 90s. How can young people, with such insanely easy access to information, not know these things?
Michael Lee Aday was a friend and neighbor of mine here in Redding, CT.. He was one of a kind in so many ways... Everytime I watch, especially this masterpiece, I get emotional.. A one-of-a-kind man.. R.I.P.
Meatloaf was incredible ❤he is a rock opera 😮
Two out of three ain't bad is another hit of his. Another great reaction MIllie! Just subscribed.
9:50 This Rock Opera short film was released 1993. Checkout the 2017 remake of "Beauty and the Beast" If memory serves me. This song was featured in the remake...
Another amazing song from this record is 'Rock and Roll dreams Come Through' ,with a great video starring a young and breathtakingly beautiful Angeline Jolie.
September 14, 1993 was the release of this album. I bought it and played this CD on repeat for like a year. (you will love it all) Great reaction. 😄
It was fun to see the genuine enjoyment on your face. Meatloaf won the 1993 Grammy for Best Male Rock Vocalist for this song. Also, the original, album version is somewhat longer, another verse by Loraine Crosby.
This concert will will leave you with tears in your eyes.
When it came to music, we had it good in the 70's and 80"s. The likes of Meatloaf was just part of that.
Meatloaf was a genius with his vocals and music.
Could you imagine seeing this live on stage? I have! Way back in the day.... Absolutely a masterpiece of music!❤❤❤❤
If you've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show, Meatloaf was a character in that, singing his fat ass off. His voice is super iconic
“ Will you hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot?”. Great lyrics!🤘🏻
This is a genre that Meatloaf was the master of. It's called Rock Opera.
i have to keep going back and watching this because your reactions to this video are the best reactions to any song on U-Tube. So honest and real.
That was the Master of the Rock Opera. Really opened up all our metal heads and showed us another version of Rock music
"Paradise By The Dashboard Lights"
My dear, this is rock opera, ivan seen it and it was amazing, miss those days.
Rock Opera at its very, very finest. RIP Meatloaf, and indeed, RIP Jim Steinman for those lyrics. My teenage years had some damned fine music!
Seeing this kind of reaction from someone your age gives me hope in humanity.
This whole album is great! My favorite song on the album is "everything louder than everyting else".
This song is from 1993. Meat Loaf is a legend.
I graduated High school when this song came out in 1993.....I totally understand your feelings...it has always been a beautiful song
This was from 1993... the Meat Loaf sequel album 'Bat out of Hell II: Back into hell'... The original 'Bat out of Hell' was a huge hit record in 1977 w/ both records written & composed by (the late) Jim Steinman, who was (1 of) Meat Loaf's key songwriters.
Sadly, Meat Loaf passed away in early 2022 at age 74.
Singer/actor Michael Lee Aday was from Texas... he was an overweight American football player in school and his coach gave him the name 'Meat Loaf'... but his passion was theater and singing as a teen. His home life was troublesome... he left home after his mom died and moved to California to become a rock singer. In the early 70's, Meat Loaf worked odd jobs and theater roles in Los Angeles and eventually met aspiring songwriter Jim Steinman while he also sang in a rock band ... the two worked on music together, but no record labels were interested.
In 1973, Meat Loaf was cast in the original musical 'The Rocky Horror Picture show'... and appeared in the movie. He also recorded vocals for a 1976 album by Ted Nugent... Meat Loaf was finally signed in 1977 and his collaboration album w/ Jim Steinman was released as 'Bat out of hell'... It became a massive international hit, selling 43 million copies worldwide - 15 million in the US to date.
Before all the theatrical bands that fused classical and theatrical music w/ hard rock music (Nightwish, T.S.O, Avantasia...) Meat Loaf broke new ground w/ 'Bat out of hell' in that style of music in 1977... Meat Loaf also toured for the record and was a live sensation as well w/ his huge, operatic voice and distinct image ...
Unfortunately, vocal issues delayed a 2nd Meat Loaf album... when 'Dead ringer' was finally released in 1981, the album was a commercial disappointment... Label lawsuits and legal troubles bankrupted Meat Loaf in the 80's... He was forced to record new music and tour in Europe and other parts of the world and his collaboration w/ Jim Steinman had soured.
Thankfully, Meat Loaf finally resolved his legal issues and re-teamed w/ Jim Steinman in 1993 to deliver the sequel album 'Bat out of hell II; Back into hell' ... The single "I'd do anything for love" was a #1 hit worldwide and the album sold 15 million copies worldwide as Meat Loaf made a huge comeback.
Subsequent albums were not as successful ('Welcome to the neighborhood' in 1995... "Couldn't have said it better" in 2003...) but Meat Loaf was still successful at touring and making new music... A legal dispute w/ Jim Steinman resulted in a 3rd 'Bat out of Hell' album being released in 2006 with only a few Steinman songs - "Bat out of hell III: The monster is loose" did well, included a Steinman single originally written & recorded for pop star Celine Dion ("It's all coming back to me now") in the 90's.
After 2010, Meat Loaf was declining in health and unable to sing as he had in the past... Jim Steinman was also declining health-wise, so the 2 made peace and recorded Meat Loaf's final album 'Braver than we are' in 2016... using past tracks that Steinman had written. Meat Loaf had to stop touring soon after due to his failing health.
Jim Steinman died in 2021... Meat Loaf passed away soon after in 2022... The singer's political views overshadowed his music in later years, but he is still a legend in rock music.
Meat Loaf classic songs - 'Rock n roll dreams come through' ... 'You took the words right out of my mouth' ... 'Not a dry eye in the house' ... 'The Monster is loose'... "Two out of three ain't bad" ... 'Midnight at the lost & found' ... 'Life is a lemon & I want my money back' ... 🔥🔥
A truly genuine and raw reaction. I loved watching you discover everything.
Every reaction I've watched the person reacting keeps asking"What wont your do for love!?" and I'm like, just wait till the damn end!!
You don't even need to wait until the end. He answers that question in every verse: "but I'll never forget the way you feel right now.." " I would do anything for love, but I won't do that."
Written by Jim Steinman in the early 80s. He sang and released it on his album. In 1993, Meatloaf released his version. Once again, proving the power of the Jim & Meatloaf team. Jim's release was good. Meatloaf's release is legendary. RIP Jim Steinman & Meatloaf 🙏
Steinman never recorded it, it wasn't on his album, and it was written shortly before Meat Loaf recorded it.
@edmonguy Senior moment there. Jim Steinman released Rock And Roll Dreams also on Meatloafs album. Thanks.
Loved your reaction, you clearly understand greatness when you see it . This video and song are spectacular. Meatloaf invented “rock opera” and it’s beautiful.
Check out his live version of “two out of three ain’t bad” and listen close to the lyrics. Always react to Meat live, and his earlier performances while he was still in his prime.
Official videos are classics. Watching ML perform just adds so much.
Seeing as how The Who had already done "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia" before Meat Loaf's 1st album "Bat Out Of Hell", you could hardly claim that Meat invented "rock opera". (And to say nothing of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".) However, he (along with Jim Steinman) certainly reinvented the genre.
One of Meatloaf's BEST SONGS!!!!!
Great reaction. Thanks.
Meatloaf, Paradise by the dashboard light. Two out of three ain’t bad. Bat out of Hell. And you must watch him in the Rocky horror picture show, Hot patootie, bless my soul.
As great as this song is, their biggest hit and probably most well know hit is Paradise by the Dashboard light.
That is if you haven't already heard it like 99% of the rest of the world.
The 'live' version!
That is not true though dude. This song went to number one all around the world. Paradise really was not that big a hit, no matter how many times it was released. Belgium, Canada and Netherlands were the only countries it landed well in the charts in its first release. Second release it only charted in the Netherlands. And third release, you guessed it, only charted in the Netherlands.
I would do anything topped the UK charts for seven weeks, and went to number one in 28 countries in total.
@@caphowdy666 "not that big a hit".
NO, that is not true dude. It may not have been huge at the time (it was long, that was uncharacteristic of the times) but after that it got bigger and bigger and is now widely known as their indeed biggest hit. It paved the road for their follow up album back into hell.
Stop lying.
@@metoo7557 You are talking out of your arse mate. I just provided you with facts. You provide me with unsubstantiated opinions. As for it's length, you are obviously don't know what you are talking about. The album track may be over 8 mins, but for the single it was edited down to just over five. They also did the same for Bat out of hell which is a longer song at nearly 10 mins but has been edited down to 7 mins and just short of 5 mins, and was released as a single before Dashboard and for anyone who was around back then (which I seriously doubt you was) that was the more famous song.
Bohemian Rhapsody was nearly 6 mins long and the band out and out refused to have an edited version of the song, and you tell me that long songs were unusual, yet that released 3 years before Bat or Dashboard.
Seriously accusing someone of being a liar who can actually tell you these facts and all you can do is say "I am right" and stamp your feet like a petulant child, is laughable. Now off you go to play with your collection of Pokemon or whatever toys it is you shove up your arse.
Paradise by the Dashboard light is it, can't be any better make out in the car song than that, kids today wouldn't understand it though.... :(
A song that will get to you is a one hit wonder by studio musicians calling themselves THINK. The song is Once You Understand. It's a shocker that you may be left in tears 😢😭😢 over the ending. Song is very relevant as much today as it was in 1971.
I'm sure some have said by now - but this is early 90's, but beyond that I think you nailed it!!
Meatloaf (r.i.p) was a very unique & powerful talent & every song sung & video made is an epic movie-like masterpiece! (fun fact: video directed by Michael Bay if memory serves!)
I'd recommend the amazing ''Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are'' from the same album - a haunting & beautiful track that hits the emotions hard! 😁
Meat loaf is a legend. Other songs ..... Life is a lemon and i want my money back, Two out of three ain´t bad, Paradise by the dashbord light, Bat out of hell, It just won´t quit, Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer than They Are ...etc
Dead Ringer would i say
Yes! Life is a Lemon ! 1993 (?) Orlando video. Deliciously dystopian!
Michael was a genius at rock opera. His duet with Cher is worth checking out. Dead Ringer for Love.
This was a huge hit single for him.
Bat Out of Hell is one of my favourites and Jim Steinman was such a great composer.
If you have not seen it, watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in which Meatloaf plays Eddie.
Bat Out of Hell (1977, I believe) is another iconic song worth listening to and different to most of their work. (You'll love it). Be sure to react to the full album version. (Radio edit cuts out too much). 🙂
Absolutely agree that the intro is stunning and not to be missed. Addict that I am, I suggest also watching the official video to get the full ML treatment.
A true performance as are all his songs! Was lucky to have seen him in concert
Im born in 81 and i grew up with meatloaf thanks to my older sister. Im so glad i got to learn all this culturally important music when i did because this literally made my soul grow Meatloaf was a genious and great singer that always overcame obstacles despite being bullied and so did i. Big hugs from Sweden.
That was wonderful to experience that with you. I've loved that song since it came out, around 1992.
MeatLoaf was awesome. May he rest in peace. He always gave it his all
'Bat Out of Hell' should be your next listen to. It's great as well.
I watch so many reaction videos, and you are by far the best at these videos that I have seen on here. Keep up the great work.
Really enjoyed your reaction. I was a teen in the 70's and grew up with Meatloaf. He was a one of a kind and his music was fabulous. If you're looking for more theatrical type videos, give Michael Jackson's Thriller and Smooth Criminal a try.
Other songs with a similar style from the same songwriter and prolly some of the same musicians: "Making Love (Out Of Nothing At All)" / Air Supply; "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" / Céline Dion.
Other good songs Meat recorded: "Nowhere Fast"; "Left in the Dark"; "Original Sin"; "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through"; "Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back"; "Everything Louder than Everything Else".
This music is considered one of the best 100 musics of last 100 years.....
Meatloaf was a living legend, sadly he's now a legend in heaven, but forever a legend.
Millie, I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not, but the music video is based on an "updated" version of Beauty and the Beast, where a lovely woman falls in love with a disfigured man. Also, the woman in the video isn't actually the singer of the female parts of the song... she a well respected "lip sync" artist. But damn, does she pull this one off! One of my favorite Meatloaf videos of his career.
Really enjoyed this reaction Millie :)
I recommend checking out a 3 sister rock band from Mexico that have an incredibly infectious energy.
The Warning⚡ is made up of Daniela (Guitar, Lead Vocals), Paulina (Drums, Vocals) & Alejandra (Bass, Backing Vocals)
2014 their cover of Enter Sandman by Metallica went viral (14, 12, 9 yrs old respectively).
Since then they’ve gone from strength to strength, opening for Foo Fighters, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Muse along with their own headline tours.
I don’t have any song recommendations because they’re honestly all fantastic and they don’t just play in one genre.
Anything from “Live at Teatro Metropólitan (CDMX)” will showcase their current live wall of sound.
Excellent suggestion. The Warning are pure fire. Please do a reaction ❤
Absolutely 💯 %, their performance at the 2023 MTV VMA’s was nothing short of sensational, More to warm them up and then Evolve to leave them reeling 😆
Oh wow, shes back 😀
PARADICE BY THE DASHBOARD LIGHTs!!!!!
I love watching your expressions and the way your eyes lit up hearing this for the first time. Reminds me of 10 year old me hearing it for the first time in 1993. May Meat Loaf RIP...
MEAT LOAF...SIMPLY, THE BEST OF THE BEST EVER!! EPIC!! SOLID GOLD!!
Jim Steinman was a great songwriter. I discovered Meatloaf with this song and immediately went through his whole catalog. Its amazing how consistent their sound was from the 70s thru the 90s.
I Came of age in the early 70's, the era of "Classic Rock" The Man Meatloaf "Marvin Lee Aday" was not just a rocker he was a performer. He and his band were Show People! not just singing a song But dragging you into the story! He is missed and is loved by people around the world! RIP Meat!
The word youre looking for is 'Epic.' Meatloaf was one hell of a storyteller.
This is one song I wish I could go back in time and hear again for the first time.
Gotta listen to 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad' with Jim Steinman the writer and composer on the piano AND 'Paradise By The Dashboard Light'..... The BEST makeout song EVER!
I love watching movies and Meat Loaf comes pops up out of nowhere and I’m thumping on whatever/whoever is closest to me screaming “That’s Meat Loaf!!!” Which then my kids ask who he is and my response to them is always “he is the definition of Rock’n Roll.” Party on Meat Loaf.
appreciate your enthusiasm ... was disappointed you didn't question what "THAT" was ... this is my ALL TIME favorite song ...
It's actually pretty obvious, really. XD
I have seen many who did not get what THAT was ... also, Meatloaf said that was the #1 question that he got ... i.e. WHAT IS THAT ???
Now you gotta listen to all their masterpieces👍
The composer of this song is Jim Steinman, that left us in 2021, he is also the composer of "Total eclipse of the heart (Bonnie Tyler), "Nowhere Fast" and "Tonight Is What It Means to be Young", from the movie "Streets of Fire". 4 great songs.
This is the kind of song, it doesnt matter what your preferences are music wise, it doesnt matter what you normally like and dont like. Everyone likes this. It has so much heart and soul in it, and the message its conveying is so real that you cant help but like it.
Michael Aday, also known as Meatloaf, was one hell of a singer. He teamed up with songwriter Jim Steinman on some of the most creative works of music ever done. You saw that one, check out Objects in the Rearview Mirror (Are Closer Than They Are), Rock and Roll Dreams Come True, It's All Coming Back to Me Now, and then, for fun, Paradise by the Dashboard Lights.
If you've ever seen the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show with Tim Curry, you've seen Meatloaf on the screen doing the part of Eddie, singing Hot Patootie/Bless My Soul. He was also, non-singing, in Fight Club and several other movies and TV shows. He was quite the accomplished man. We lost him a couple years ago, sadly. He was my favorite of all time.
Michael Lee Aday was a brilliant voice, a nerd, a cool dude... an icon of the eighties... you must hear "Bat Out Of Hell"! love your reactions. Jim Steinman and the pianist, the female vocalists, he had a great team...
